Ihsan was once a Serran Paladin of Aysen and had served for many years. When he was just coming of age, he was haunted by dreams and visions of confronting the Baron Sengir. After seeking the advice of a soothsayer that told him, he would die when he would confront the Baron. Undeterred by this grim pronouncement, Ihsan devoted his life to becoming a Paladin of Serra, an order of knights devoted to the protection of the towns of Aysen, and of the ultimate destruction of Baron Sengir.

After serving for many years, Ihsan bravely journeyed to the Castle of the Vampire Lord and confronted the immortal planning to have the baron to turn him into a vampire so he could have the power to destroy him. Instead, the paladin was killed and reborn as a shade by the Baron's dark magic and bounding him to his ring. For many years, Ihsan would be forced to serve the Baron where he would commit many crimes that death wouldn't be enough for punishment. He was finally defeated and released from his curse but ends up in a new world and not hell like he thought. To his horror, he discovers he is still a shade. What will this world think of him and his dark appearance?
