  • Prologue - Do We Have a Deal?

I did not fear Lord Tirek — never had. I could actually mock him to his face. It was true I was really not the best for Tirek… at least when I knew he was not be watching me. In all truth, Lord Tirek wasn’t even close to being good in any way. Which explained why he was the King of Tartarus; why he was what many of those creatures in the world above called ‘Satan’ or sometimes ‘Devil’. He liked to shout at his guards and soldiers, whether he was happy or angry. And when he was angry… well, no-one wants to see that.

But I was grateful to have been called upon by Tirek. He can be angry and swears a lot, he only cares about himself, and he really doesn’t smell so good, but Tirek is still my Lord, so I had no choice but to go and see him. I needed to respect him — after all, loyalty was essential to keeping my butt safe from being kicked out. I had a good life there because of him. After being a watcher for some years I was finally promoted to the role of soldier.

Still, being me — Sunset Shimmer — is not as easy as one may think. Being a raging she-demon might not exactly be what everybody wants out of life, but after dying you realize that you’ve gotten better after doing ‘bad stuff’.

I died in a fire. Pretty predictable, huh? I was a typical sixteen year old girl. I liked Nirvana. My grades at school were pretty average. I was reasonably happy with my situation. I had met a fine girl — I’ve forgotten her name after so much time burning in Tartarus — but we started dating. I wonder how she reacted once I was gone… it must have destroyed her.

Like I said, I was a typical teenager and part of my life was also making mistakes — big ones. It wasn’t about going to parties, liking girls, liking rock or something. It was about getting drunk and smoking cigarettes and getting into real big trouble in school. Yes, everyone could see I wasn’t exactly the teacher’s pet. But what can I do? That’s what fate chose for me. Well… what Queen Faust and Lord Tirek did actually. They are the ones who count your sins and decide if you go up or down.

Some end up being normal looking humans — the only thing’s that a scar of the cause of your dead will stay on your body forever. Others, like me, will be chosen to become demons. Demons aren’t ugly like you think. Okay my skin is red and my eyes are cat-like; I have pointy bat-like wings, sharp fangs, and claws; and I do love to give people a shit-eating grin. But I’m still awesome looking, I bet. I have some good looking clothes: my lucky leather jacket is still with me and I normally have it with me, wearing it with my usual yellow low-necked dress and my old short boots that came with me after dying.

And Tartarus is actually pretty nice. It’s like a really big city with all kinds of people, there’s the city and then the bridge to Tirek’s Lair, putting his lair a little away from people. Pretty much like New York. It doesn’t have cars — you have to walk to everywhere. But as a lot of people have wings, like me, that makes things easier. Everyone has their houses — some people that are from the same family live together and others choose to live together. It’s pretty normal. People talk to each other, they go for a walk, they fall in love — still we’re incapable of having children, after all you can’t put a innocent being in Tartarus — we even have a cinema… it has pretty old movies, but at least it’s something, right? Also we have a pasta restaurant that’s run by an Italian she-demon. Isn’t it amazing? Well at least my house is comfy and good for living.

I didn’t really think Heaven would suit me, even if I was good enough. Those angels wings… it just seems so… boring up there. At least here we have fire and spicy food… which I’ve gotten used to with time. But Lord Tirek eats food that he gets from the upworld through a portal, that lucky bastard…

Even if he was a bastard I was there to see him, in his lair. It was a castle — looked like one at least — a black big castle with a lot of windows. You had to go through a bridge to get there, passing the lava lake where Tirek’s Skeleton Dragon lived. Sans, the dragon, always hated me. Maybe because I sometimes used to throw rocks at him, chipping his bones, but

he’s tough enough to take almost anything and his bones regenerated pretty quickly.

But today was different. I decided to not get into trouble — I was probably in enough already. Lord Tirek had only called me here two times before: when I’d first arrived, and when my role had gone up for killing a Chupacabra — a very rare mythical animal that has high magic levels, which Tirek loves to feed off. That’s how I got to be a soldier, helping to keep harmony in Tartarus and only sometimes going up to see if any supernatural creature needs to be killed. But even with my ‘important’ role, my life in Tartarus was going to shit.

Tartarus is pretty simple: do shit and you’ll be punished. The thing is, I always manage to charm Tirek or his guards not to do it. My last bad action was for having a really bad fight with Trixie, an annoying and arrogant ex-‘magician’, just a little older than me. But I couldn’t handle myself: no one tells lies about Sunset Shimmer, not on my watch.

The other time I’d narrowly escaped punishment was for accidentally feeding the mail-man to Cerberus, the dog that guards Hell’s Silver Gate. And it wasn’t really my fault: I accidentally pushed him and he let a heavy delivery box fall onto Cerberus’ paw, and the got kinda mad… I think any fool could guess what happened next.

Well there were a plenty more — after all I’ve been here for five whole years. And Lord Tirek already said that I’m on the verge of getting kicked out. I would rather get killed again than let that happen. When it’s done, Tirek sucks your powers and immortality and releases you into the upworld without any chance of running from humans, changing your demon appearance… in other words: you will get killed by humans that are scared about you or die in some weeks without a place to stay and live. And what happens if you die and you’re already dead? You go to the land of forgotten and stay in nothingness. Forever, until the world ends.

I didn’t want that — no one did. So I was hoping that I hadn’t been called to his lair about this… because if that was the reason, I was going to scream. Why couldn’t I stop being bad even after going to what everyone called ‘Hell’? I don’t know why — it’s just something inside me, I guess. And I don’t believe anyone could change what I am…

I sighed as I entered through the two big silver doors to the castle, receiving suspicious looks from both guards standing in the door and another one from Sans. The dragon was poking his head out of the lava a bit, looking at me with his big empty eyes which creeped me out.

The castle was as giant on the inside as it was on outside. The walls were, surprisingly, white on the inside, with some windows here and there. There were paintings of Lord Tirek and King Sombra, his co-worker and old friend for eons, who helped when Tirek needed to go out into the upworld. The pictures always captured them with a very serious expression. They each had golden frames with intricate details, and they always had a red or black background. There was an enormous candle chandelier made of crystals and gems hanging from the ceiling, illuminating the room — a luxury that could be seen from all around the castle to illuminate it. Even though Tirek preferred the dark, Sombra decided to add it — probably only because he loved gems so much.

I walked into the hall and gulped, feeling like I was watching by those paintings. And then I faced the big golden door that led to Tirek’s throne room. I swear I prayed to Tirek himself, to Queen Faust, Miss Death, everyone you could imagine. I didn’t wanted to go, not now. “Alright Sun, keep it cool,” I murmured to myself and I pushed open the big doors. Okay, so maybe you can tell… I might have bent the truth a little at the start: I am afraid of Lord Tirek. Everyone should be.

“Finally! I was starting to think you were afraid to come!” Tirek shuffled on his big silver throne that had three fire rubies spiked into the backboard. Sombra was reading something, seated on the smaller throne at his side, his face a picture of boredom. “Be welcome and feel home Sunset Shimmer, I’m very… happy to see you here.” He flashed a grin that gave me shivers. “Sombra, please leave. Sunny here and I need to talk alone.” Tirek’s yellow eyes glowed. Sombra just got up and left.

Anyone would be surprised if I told them that everyone but him was a human or demon. Tirek was nothing more, and nothing less than a centaur. A really big one. That’s why this castle must have had such big doors and stuff — at least his stuff is big. Why was he was like that? Some people say that he was cursed to stay like that, and that once Tirek had been a human, but he’d done something so bad that Gaia, the creator of everything and mother of Faust, decided to curse him and make him King of Tartarus. So he was staying there forever, doing his duties.

“Uh… what do need me here for exactly?” I began with fear, beating my wings a bit.

“Mmm…” Tirek scratched his white beard. “I don’t know. You can tell me actually. Why would I call you, Sunny, here?” he grunted.

I quivered. I wasn’t really going to say what I was thinking. “Eh… maybe to tell be what a great soldier I am?”

“Oh, of course!” Tirek exclaimed in a sarcastic tone, filling the room with echoes. “How could I be such a fool?” He rolled his eyes. “Well… let me guess… you don’t know the rules or something? Sunset Shimmer, I’ve had it up to here with you!” He gestured with his hands up to above his horns. “You had a fight with another soldier, you killed my mail man and Sombra complained for weeks about how he didn’t get his mail from the upworld with those comics of crystal people or gem or something. You bad-mouthed Commander Starlight Glimmer and you’re constantly mocking me!” he shouted beating his fist against the throne’s arm. I could smell his bad halitosis — it smelled like dead fish, ugh. “And I don’t smell that bad! Because of you now I have this,” Tirek leaned on a little table next to his throne fetching a perfume and applying it. “Now am I good enough?!” he said, almost throwing the little scent bottle, but in the end put back on its place.

“Well… sorry?” I shrugged. What else could I say? Lord Tirek didn’t like my mocking tone. “I mean that: I’m truly sorry, I never meant those things! I-I can’t be thrown away if that’s the idea that you have in mind!” I exclaimed, crossing my arms and pouting.

“Looks like you guessed what I’m thinking of doing, Miss Shimmer. I’m tired of giving you second chances, third chances… maybe even twelfth chances…” he said between his teeth and scratched his beard for a moment. “But you are a good soldier.” He got up, making me feel small. “I can’t just throw you away like that.”

“Yeah, I have my charm.” I pretended to be proud of myself, puffing out my chest with pride and giving Tirek a shit-eating smirk.

Tirek frowned. “It looks like you really wanna have a walk in the upworld, huh?” he threatened me, and I shut up for my own good. “Well, well, well… I have a deal for you.” He smirked, with glowing eyes.

“Stop doing that thing, please. It’s creepy,” I responded.

He murmured a curse and grunted.

“So what’s this deal of yours? Does it involve me not getting my butt kicked out of Tartarus? Because I’m all in for that.” I blinked.

“Great,” Tirek sat back on his throne with a big thud in the red cushion. He snapped his fingers, making a fancy cushioned chair appear. “Sit back. We’re gonna talk.” And so I did. Tirek coughed. “I have one option for you, but first some rather bad news: Starlight Glimmer was banned. She showed disloyalty towards me and so I had no other option.”

“Meh, didn’t really like her anyways.” I shrugged with my arms crossed and rolled my eyes. Starlight was very arrogant woman who always wanted everything to be exactly how she wanted it. “But who’s gonna be in the Commander role now for the Tartarus Army? Things are hostile between us and the Vampires — what if we have a war?” I frowned.

“That’s where you come in,” he said. My eyes shined.

The Commander of Tirek’s Army lived in luxury in a big mansion in the end of the city, next to the bridge. That explained why it was so empty there. But I could have everything I needed in there! Even upworld food from Tirek, since he always gave Starlight some. There’s even a TV with all the channels you could wish for — not like the five channels the rest of us were stuck with, three in white and black, and another two just plain boring. Ah, Starlight’s amazing life could be mine!

I grinned in my seat, imagining everything I could get from it. But Tirek snapped his fingers, grabbing my attention again. “You think I’ll just put you there? You know exactly what you gotta do to get there. Carry out a mission, be successful on it for a period of at least… three months and prove me you did it. And that will prove to me you’re loyal enough to stay. I’ll forgive all your mistakes in here and make you my new Commander,” Tirek explained playing with his fingers and giving me a little grin.

“And what’s that mission? C’mon give me your worst,” I smirked. I truly would do anything to stay and even more to be a Commander!

“Kill a human,” he said simply.

“For no reason?” I asked, curious. Why I would do such thing without any reasons?

“Not so much. She made a weird magic-sucking device that’s affecting my watchers that live in and sneak around her town.” Tirek let out a big tired sigh. “The worst thing is: a watcher discovered that this human girl has no idea how to close it, and no idea how to destroy that magic-sucking collar. It’s way too powerful for a human to control.” He crossed his arms with a raised eyebrow. “You think you can do better than those stupid watchers? Perhaps I should have sent you the first day I was warned about that girl — after all, you have more power than watchers — any demon soldier does. So what do you say? Wanna stay or wanna go?”

I quivered for a moment, wondering if I could do it. “Well… who’s this girl you’re talking about?”

Tirek smiled and leaned back against the backboard again. “Twilight Sparkle. She’s at CC, Canterlot College. She’s studying science and isn’t so old — just nineteen.” Tirek laughed in a sarcastic tone. “I really don’t know how and why such naive girl would make that device.”

“Maybe she’s just curious? Must be a huge nerd,” I suggested.

“Curiosity killed the cat, that’s what they say, huh?” He laughed at his own joke. I just sat quietly and rolled my eyes. Tirek coughed. “Everything is settled then: you will be her roommate. Don’t worry — it’s the beginning of the year and I signed you up to study the theory of music or something like that. I know you love that music stuff. You disguise yourself as a human, go there, don’t let your magic be sucked, happily kill Twilight Sparkle, destroy the device, and bring me the pieces to prove you did it. So do we have a deal?” His eyes glowed as he held out his hand to me.

I didn’t have to even think about it — I was going to do it, for my own good. I shook his hand. “It can’t be that hard, can it?” I mocked.

Tirek nodded softly. “Good work. You’re a wise demon Sunset, I can tell.” He got up and snapped his fingers making me fall back onto the ground and get up muttering curses. “Come back in three months, no more, no less. I’ll give you the reward. Also… bring the device. I wanna have a look at it,” he said and I nodded. “Hell’s Gate is open for you. Disguise yourself and go. At Canterlot College, you will find everything you need.”

“Heh. I seriously doubt I’m going to need all that time, but if you insist,” I said, proud of myself. I turned around, ready to go, but Tirek called me and I stopped turning back to face him.

“If you betray me in any way while you’re there… don’t even think about coming back. Do you hear me?” Tirek said in a threatening tone.

I just nodded and walked out of there, saying nothing more.

I walked out the castle and took flight to the Hell’s Gate, at the front of the city, where the wisest people and demons lived since they were from eras that were so far back in time that they weren’t even remembered anymore.

Cerberus had probably been given a message from Lord Tirek, so he let me pass. I petted Cerberus for a while. He was actually a good dog, despise the fact he looked like a monster — a three headed dog-like monster.

I left him and walked to a portal to the human world. There were various different portals, each one to a place only people with the correct authorization can go. Good life here we come. This is going to be so easy, I thought with a smile before I jumped.

Yeah, I said that to myself because I didn’t know Twilight Sparkle yet. I didn’t know what I was jumping into. I guess being Sunset Shimmer isn’t as easy as you might think, right? Goddamn right.

Chapter One - To Earth and Back...?

Once I step out of the portal, — once I’m thrown out of the portal to the Upworld to fall flat on my ass, to be more exact — I look around. As always we have to think of a place to go and the portal would take us anywhere we had thought of, and usually we end up in the forest near the place. Of course, for obvious unwanted human encounters, so we would have the time to shapeshift into a human or even a animal.

As my mission was to simply kill a human and not to go into anywhere, I snap my fingers and shapeshifted into a human. It’s pretty much like myself in demon form, the  only differences is that my skin isn’t red anymore and I have way more normal clothes to wear. A white shirt with my traditional leather jacket and a jeans with boots, plus a backpack to pretend I was really going to study in that Canterlot College or whatever. Perfect.

Not that I cared way too much about fashion and I was probably just staying there for a day, but it had been quite some time since I had last stepped out of Tartarus. My missions as a Soldier weren’t so frequent as some may think, and since I wasn't a watcher anymore and that meant I wasn't allowed to stay days, weeks or maybe even months out of Tartarus. Wearing or doing something different than my ‘normal’ stuff was something rare, but always feels good.

I got up and looked around, I could almost hear the sounds coming from somewhere far away and they sounded like cars. Probably the city, Canterlot, my objective was there.

I wasn’t from Canterlot when I was a normal human. I was from Manhattan, the city where everyone was supposed to be a pop star or a important person, maybe just a person who worked on a office, but usually even working on a office was considered great work. If I was still alive I, of course, wouldn’t choose any of that. Well, a rockstar would fit more for me, but when I was alive I really never found the city amazing. It was pretty normal that you was born there, lived there and died there. The lights and constant pop star musical shows were usual and if you didn’t have enough money to go in it was because you were poor.

Canterlot wasn’t so different, it had a old charm thought. It was Equestria’s capital and a lot of important people lived here. Great and successful musicians, scientists and every other snobby person you can imagine, they lived all there in their big mansions. And of course none were aware of the Supernatural creatures that lived between them. Humans are such fools, I was actually kind of happy to know I wasn’t exactly one of them anymore, even if life in Tartarus wasn’t really the best thing to offer.

After looking around a little to check if anyone was there, I began to walk towards where the sounds were coming from. “Enough looking around, it’s time for business.” I said to myself. It was time to see who the heck was this “Twilight Sparkle” and end with her.

Walking is terrible, why the hell do humans not have wings? It’s so much more convenient . I mean they won’t even need to use cars and motorcycles! They wouldn’t even need airplanes, and to release more smoke than a large bonfire, but if Queen Faust decided to create them like that, who am I to judge?

I finally arrived at the college where Lord Tirek had ordered me to go, after walking some more blocks. The college was pretty big, with a statue of a horse in front of it and had a big sign with blue letters saying “CANTERLOT COLLEGE”.

Looks like the place is for stuck up rich people or something, I thought with myself as I began to walk, I do deserve the best anyways. I let out a little grin. It wasn’t like I was going to stay there for long, but some extra comfort for just a few hours would be received with open arms.

Obviously a intimidating, broad shouldered and leather jacket girl would be received with some looks. I didn’t really care, so I just continued to walk, entering the college. It looked even bigger on the inside!

There was a big hall with some shelves showing off a few medals and awards, probably that the college had won in the past. There was also a big picture frame hanging on the wall above a big door that probably lead towards the campus, it showed a man that looked very serious, he has dark purple hair and was dressed in a fancy way. Probably the one who founded the college. And tothe right of the campus door, there was the Principal’s Office that had a sun above the door for some unknown reason.

I shrugged and retrieved a little piece of paper from my backpack, written on it was the number and the name of who I was going to stay with. Room 42, Twilight Velvet Sparkle. That was where I was headed, to the left there was stairs leading to the dorms. I just hoped she was there, and hopefully with the ‘magic sucking thing’ very far away from me, or else my plans would be dunked.

I went upstairs and searched for my room, to my surprise there were even more rooms on the other floors, the place sure was enormous! But just to my luck I didn’t had to walk more as my room was on the second floor. I knocked the door two times and opened it slightly to see who probably was the Twilight Sparkle trying to groom the room, the girl didn’t even noticed me standing beneath the doorway, as she was turning around putting some books onto a shelf that was hanging on the wall.

“Hey, you are Twilight Sparkle right?” I said as I entered making the girl jump in surprise, turning back to face me, still with one book in her hands.

The girl had a purple blouse and a small white jacket over it with dark purple skirts, a pair of nerdy looking glasses, a hair tied in a bun with a simple pencil and which has pumps on. Pretty nerdy and a little cute herself, that’s what I was expecting. It will be SO easy, I almost laughed internally.

She winked a few times at me. “Y-yeah. You must be my roommate, right? I actually thought I saw ‘Pinkamena Diane Pie’ written in it, are you sure you’re my roommate?” Twilight asked nervously, like she feared me. Well, she could stay fearing me actually.

“Why don’t you check?” I asked with a mocking grin.

“Aaaalright,” Twilight agreed with a distrust in her voice and turned to get something in her handbag that was sitting on a bed, that was next to another bed. She took out a piece of paper from it and read, “Oh. Looks like it’s actually ‘Sunset Shimmer’, weird I could swear Pinkie was going to be with me.” She narrowed her eyes.

“I’m Sunset, then that’s me. Guess the Pinkie you mentioned or whatever isn’t going to be your roommate this year,” I gave her another grin as I left my backpack to sit in the room’s corner. Talking about the room, it was kind of big. Had two beds in the center of the room, a computer in a desk in the other corner, two big windows, some shelves hanging on the walls and a big shelf in the corner where my backpack was now in. I thrown myself on my new bed, “So… won’t you even give me a welcome or something?”

“I… uh… you know me already. I’m Twilight, you just said it.” She shrugged, “Plus I didn’t expect my roommate to be someone else other than Pinkie Pie, because if it was her I’m sure she would be the one to make a party about it, not me.” She explained, murmuring while getting back to putting her stuff in the proper places.

“Heh, I was just kidding, lighten up.” I said as I sat in the bed for a moment to put off my jacket and put it hanging into the bed’s backboard and then laid back again. “So watcha doin’? Some science stuff or something? You look like you enjoy those things, for some reason despite the Star Wars stuff you have in there.”

Twilight, who had finally put her things in place, looked to me with widened eyes and a small blush spread through her face. “Well that doesn’t mean anything, I just got a mug in the form of Darth Vader’s head! And all the books… And all the movies… But that still doesn’t mean anything!” she exclaimed as she sat back on her bed and coughed. “But yes, you are right, I do like science. And actually I am here to get graduated in the scientific area!” the girl said in a proud tone, like if she was thinking I though those stuff were cool.

“See? You can tell a LOT of things about people only seeing the stuff they enjoy,” I gave a small smile to Twilight, who crossed her arms.

“But what about you? Are you here only to mock me or something? Because I think Principal Celestia didn’t get this.” She said with a frown.

“I’m here for theory of music actually, and don’t worry as you won’t need to cope with me the entire day.” I winked, “Besides, I don’t think you will need to cope so much in any way.” I shrugged, it was always good to give hints to humans. They always get confused, I had a slight obsession with seeing humans confused.

“What… ugh. Alright, if you say so.” Twilight said with a hesitant tone in her voice, “So you-” Twilight stopped once she saw a little light was coming from her handbag, laying next to her in the bed. She leaned on to check what was that, “Oh no… wait, what?” she looked around for a second and zipped the bag. “Uh… You can stay here right? Alone, for a moment?”

I giggled, “What are you afraid of, a goat monster eating my soul? Don’t worry, I’ll be fine. Besides, you just met me, why the hell do you care?” I asked receiving a sigh of what seemed like relief from her.

“Alright. I’ll be right back, I need to uh… talk with Principal Celestia,” Twilight got up and before she leaved the room she turned again to me, “Hey… uh… Don’t mess in my bag, please. You know, personal things.” She seemed nervous while saying it, I just nodded and then she gave me a little wave and was finally gone.

I raised a eyebrow. “Would that glowing thing be…” I questioned myself before getting up and, despite what she had told me not to do, I unzipped the handbag and found the glowing object.

It was a collar that had a pendant that looked like a clock, a purple one with some blue details that were glowing. It became brighter and brighter, and I had no idea what that meant. I shrugged and analyzed it, but then it started to make a strange sound like if it was going to explode. “What the heck-” Before I could say anything else the thing opened and it looked like I guessed what that was. It was the magical pendant that Twilight Sparkle has for some reason. And to my “luck” it began to suck out my magic, it felt like someone was trying to suffocate me because I couldn’t breathe as the collar began to suck out a red dust from inside of me.

Demons were made out of magical dust and human bodies. And it didn’t felt nice to get it sucked from you.

I tried really hard, to close the pedant, but I had no way. I was going to fail because of my curiosity, I was going to be kicked out, I was going to be revealed as a demon and the humans would kill me. Isn’t things perfect being Sunset Shimmer?

But in a last try I thrown the collar away in a corner and I could finally breathe again so I took deep breaths, panting still looking at the collar in the corner of the room with widened and surprised eyes. I felt weak, but it looked like I still had only one piece of my magic left and that was for shapeshifting, the most weak of magics.

“Shit,” I murmured. That’s when I heard the door’s opening sound. Great, she’s already here.  “Eh, oh, hi Twilight.” I gave her a little wave with some difficulty as she looked at me with curiosity, that nerd now had a small black bag in her hands.

Then the girl looked to the other side of the room where the collar was next to the computer’s desk. Twilight gasped, almost dropping the small bag in the floor.

“What was that, uh?” I gave her a weak smile, “That sure is… a device that sucks, huh?” I made a pun, but Twilight only looked at me with widened eyes. Well, at least a pun was better than a skeleton pun. “C’mon it wasn’t that bad!”

“Y-you… I told you to not mess with that! You could’ve hurt yourself!” She exclaimed and retrieved it from the floor, putting it inside her bag. “What happened? It sucked from y-” Twilight stopped and gasped again, “What… wait… You messed with my collar and it got open, and it sucked what I think it sucked from you?!” she exclaimed.

“Hey don’t worry, I’m still good.” I gave her a little laugh  and a thumbs up. “What do you think, hehe, that I’m some sort of magical creature? Meh, stop playing those computer games, it might get you a little crazy,” I mocked her who had put the bag with the collar in a shelf hanging in the wall.

Twilight turned to me with a mix of determination and fear on her eyes. “If it opened and did something that means you are something.” She said and slowly walked to the door and locked it then turned to me again, “What are you?”

“I’m Sunset Shimmer, duh. You already know that.” I played with her. I couldn’t do anything to her now, I have no power other than shapeshifting and it wasn’t too useful right now. And there was no knives next to me either…

“If you don’t wanna say it, that’s okay… But I kind of need to do this, okay? So… sorry.” She gave me a weak smile.

I chuckled while sitting back in my bed with my patented, trademark shit eating grin. “Sorry for what? Are you-” Before I could say anything else to Twilight, she, without saying anything, hit me hard with something metallic. I didn’t even saw what, but it knocked me out cold. I dreamed, demons never dream, but as I was a human for now I did. It was all about mad scientists. That wasn’t exactly a relief.

Chapter Two - "We Aren't Going to be Friends... We are going to be BESTIES."

I didn’t know how long was I knocked out for, maybe it was for some hours, maybe even less than that or maybe more. But I could feel my head hurting and I didn’t even get to see what the hell that damned girl hit me with. I had almost no magic powers, my head was hurting and it felt like I was tied up or something like that. My situation was not the best, as anyone may conclude. But my loyalty for Lord Tirek wasn’t going to fail now, even without my powers, I had to get that amulet and, somehow, destroy it. And get the hell out of there, of course.

Slowly, I tried to open my eyes. And the more I slowly woke up from my faint, more my head hurt. But, surprisingly, I wasn’t in some crazy scientist’s lab or anything. I was still in the bedroom, but now I was sat on the computer desk chair with my hands tied up. It was dark already and no one was in the room, the lights in the room were on. Twilight probably put them on for me.

As it was already dark, I realized I missed the class. Whatever, I didn’t need to have it anyway. I shrugged. That wasn’t my responsibility right now.

I then realized I should try to get out of the chair, but before I could do anything else the door opened. It was, obviously, Twilight Sparkle. I sighed loudly. I narrowed my eyes at the girl that walked into the room like nothing was wrong, I thought of shouting something, but that was not what I did. I was going to front her by myself, who knows if someone could notice that I was a demon? Maybe if I did scream, then that crazy girl would catch the rest of my magic and leave me to die in the human world with my original demon look.

“Enjoying your first day?” I said in a sarcastic tone between my teeth. Twilight only put her things back on her pack and turned to me.

“I already it, I’m sorry it has to be this way.” She once again began to excuse herself and let out a sigh. “I just… don’t know how that thing works… I wish I did.”

“Oh so you now wanna excuse yourself and say that those people that were supernatural creatures who got their magic sucked wasn’t your fault? You know what? Screw you!” I finally let it out. Ah, how I love to say that for people. “I mean… You did something that you don’t even know how it works! Are you stupid?”

“I-I didn’t do that alone, alright?” Twilight said with a slightly louder tone, shutting me up. She looked around and then gone to lock the door and the windows and then sat on her bed, in front of me. “I was not making that alone. I just wanted to understand magic, I wanted to prove everyone that… ‘monsters’ aren’t such monsters and that magic really does exist. And… Janitor Discord, a kind friend of mine, helped.” I frowned and then she continued, “He, for some weird reason, knew how to help in some ways. He actually built the core of that thing, and the core is probably where the magic is.”

“Can’t you just talk to that Discord guy?”

“He was fired at the beginning of this year. I actually am in my second year here and Discord helped a lot, even if he was… a little chaotic and he loved to prank Principal Celestia,” Twilight let out a soft laugh. “I have no idea where he is now. My friend, Fluttershy, and him do talk to each other sometimes. They are great friends, but she says he doesn’t want to say where, and Fluttershy doesn’t want to lie to him so she also doesn’t tell anyone. He never liked people invading his personal space, even if he liked to do that to other people.”

“Oh, how great…” I rolled my eyes.

Twilight narrowed hers at me. “Well, I just… wanted to be sure of your intentions here. I want to know why you’re here. Most of the creatures next to me are… another case. But what about you? I feel like there something weird about you… no offense.” She let out a little nervous giggle and I stared at her for some time.

I sighed heavily. “Alright, so you really want to know? Okay. Because of your little magic sucking toy there I was sent here to kill you, Lord Tirek sent me. You know… devil stuff. Nothing personal, though.” I shrugged and she widened her eyes.

“You are a demon?” I nodded. “Oh… you… I never saw one. By what I know the only ones with the same classification are werewolves…” Twilight gnawed her nails for a moment. “Why would he send you here?”

“Guess what? You did get some magic from demons, duh. And we kind of have some problems with vampires, past wars and hate with them, and when you get power from us it really goes down. You know… we always need to be strong. Without power, we’re nothing.” I explained with a monotonous expression and Twilight looked surprised for knowing that. “Lord Tirek doesn’t like people that takes power away from him. Tsk tsk, and he sent me here.”

“But it wasn’t my fault. Can’t you just…” She sighed, “Of course you can’t. Your power is in there and we can’t open without getting the rest sucked. I also can’t destroy it, for some reason.” She bit her lip and I widened my eyes.

    “What?!” I exclaimed. “Yo-you can’t? This means… even if I do kill you…”

“Yes,” Twilight nodded and got up. “The magic thing would still be on and who knows who could get it and what intentions this person would have?” She then massage her temples and turned to me, “Look I… I’m sorry. Again. But I don’t that you can destroy it either. I have been studying it and by my calculus only someone with great power can do it.”

“But wouldn’t it be sucked?” I asked.

“Yes, but not someone with such power, I think. Can’t you take it to Tirek? Can’t he do it? Maybe, if my theory is right, then he would be happy about it,” She asked with hands on her hips.

“Well…” I laughed a little, “Eh… kind of no. This isn’t just a regular mission. My destiny is in game here. My life is. If I don’t prove I can kill a human and end with a danger for us… then Lord Tirek will kick my butt out of Tartarus with no power,” I sighed. When you looked that way it was something really rushed, sheesh. “Guess it’s time for me to say it… Sorry, I guess.”

Twilight blinked for a moment. “But what if you discover only how to stop the danger? Isn’t that the most important?”

“If you look further then yeah, you are not the danger. The device is…” I got quiet for a moment. I remembered Tirek’s words about I betraying him. But my idea wasn’t of exactly betraying him, I would never. The idea was slightly better. “Then I think you are right. If I end with the device, then you can live. Then I would be considered a true hero! I would stay in Tartarus AND be a commander instead of a simple soldier!” I said in a excited tone, I could swear that Twilight saw stars in my eyes.

“But what are you thinking about?” She asked curiously, sitting back in her bed. She seemed not too excited. “I do not want to interrupt you demons or something anymore, I just want to learn about magic. So if you have a good idea, please say it now, I… I am listening.”

I smirked. “I will say it… But first…” I looked down to the rope that tied me up. “C’mon. I don’t have any powers to hurt you, and I’m sure you got the device somewhere so that it can’t suck my last powers that are for shapeshifting. Can’t you?”

“First of all, yes, the device is inside of the little black handbag and inside my other pack. It isn’t going anywhere and no one will have it except for me.” The girl explained and I sighed in relief. She wasn’t going to suck my magic after all! Still, she did looked like those crazy scientists that make fusions or something. “And… How can I trust you? I am locked in a room with a demon. I… We just met and I just got to know who you really are. So…”

“I can let you understand magic, I promise.” I finally said, interrupting her.

“W-what?” I swear I could see her eyes shine.

“Magic. I’ll show you. I’ll make you learn about it, everything you want. We will have three months to do it and destroy that thing,” I explained. “You want to understand magic, I’ll help you with that. I want that device dead and my powers back from it. You help me with that.” I smiled a little as I saw she was biting her lip, probably deciding. “I won’t try anything with you. I have no reason, since you’re helping me. I can talk with my Lord and solve that, as long as I break the device and come back with its pieces to prove it, I’m fine as wine… even if I prefer beer.” I added.

Twilight scratched her chin. “And you mean that you will stay here for a while? We discover how to destroy it, we do it, I learn about magic during that and then you go?” I nodded. “Well… and you only have three months…” I nodded again.

“You can be famous with you magic knowledge. You can prove it exists with simple stuff, but first… we will have to get out a demon of here, huh?” I gave her a honest smile.

Twilight took some time to think, not just some. Ten minutes, twenty. I was getting bored, but she was just making mental and even non-mental notes for herself in the meantime. But finally, she turned to me again. “Alright. You will stay here, you will teach me about magic and we will try to understand the device. Together.” She came close to my chair, with a scissor in hands and cut the rope. “There, now you can feel home again,” She joked as she put the scissor again inside a case and put the case back in her pack.

“Ugh,” I stretched. “Much better!” I gave her a little smile. “I guess that… we will be friends?”

“Oh… yes... I guess.” A awkward silence filled the room after her words. “Eh… sorry for hitting you with a frying pan.”

    “A pan? Why the hell-”

“Pinkie Pie gave me. She says it’s good to have one in hand for protection, even if it did  look more like a Disney princess thing.” She giggled, I stayed quiet. “But… we are friends if you want to. I don’t know… I guess it would be better if we get to know each of us better.”

“Well, you already know me. Sunset Shimmer, sixteen years, long lived demon, I like rock. Pleasure to meet you, again.” I mocked Twilight as she unlocked the door and the windows, giving her a honest smile. “But about the whole friendship thing… No.”

    “Why don’t you want to-”

“We are gonna pretend, okay?” I threw myself onto my bed, because my back hurts. “Tomorrow, at night we gonna search for Discord. Not today, I’m tired because someone that I know tied me up and my back is hurting like fuck,” she blushed, I didn’t know if it was because of my swearing or the fact I said what she did to me. “We are going to be friends while we do that! I’m not used to it, but I’ll do just that just because I need to. We do our plan, I leave and you forget about me, forever, even if you knowing about magic because of me gives you fame. Capiche?”

Twilight frowned for a minute, but sighed and sat in her bed, turning to me. “First, why do you want Discord? I have no idea where-”

I giggled, “Oh don’t be stupid, we can easily find him! That friend… Fluttershia or something will say it to us! She can do it, maybe she can give his number or something to us and we can talk. Huh? Isn’t it easy?” I said, laying back with a little smile.

“But what if she don’t? And it’s Fluttershy, not Fluttershia.” Twilight gave me a frown.

“She will, I’m sure, she will. My charm will convince her to do it,” I gave her a smirk, wiggling my eyebrows and she rolled her eyes.

Twilight suddenly widened her eyes. “Tomorrow night won’t be the best time...”

“Wha- Why?” I sat on my bed with a frown.

“I promised Pinkie Pie and my friends I would go to her party tomorrow night and… bring whoever was my roommate. That was this morning, of course, I didn’t knew who you were and when I got my paper I saw Pinkie’s name on it so I thought that I wouldn’t be bringing anyone else,” She got quiet and stared at me for a moment and widened her eyes. “Ooooh. Now I get why I saw your name instead of Pinkie’s.”

“Magic, babe.” I snapped my fingers with a smirk, but my mocking face was gone once I realized what was going to happen. “Wait a second… I’m not going into some stupid friend party of yours, okay? I said we gonna pretend, but… don’t you think we are going to fast here?”

“Fluttershy will be there, we can talk with her.” She explained. “Even get Discord’s number and talk to him. Saturday we, of course, don’t have classes and maybe we can meet him if we get to convince him to help us. I believe he can do it,” Twilight explained and I got interested. “So…? Fluttershy is… well, shy, I guess you will have to know her a little before she does talk to you,” She gave me a soft smile.

“Alright, we’ll go to that party, but only pretending, I’m not turning into anyone’s friend.” I said clenching my teeth and then turned to her with a predatory smile. “So we won’t pretend we are friends…” She rose a eyebrow. “We are going to be BESTIES.” I exclaimed.

“If it’s for the greater good, then I’m up to it.” Twilight shrugged. “I just don't want to interrupt anything else in between those demons, or supernatural creatures. And I just want to know about some magic, that is. A simple girl’s wish.” She blushed a little.

I smiled. I was filled with determination only for knowing that I was going to do that plan and make Lord Tirek proud, making my life ten times better. Isn’t being Sunset Shimmer just amazing?

Chapter Three - A Little Party Never Killed Nobody... Right?

Okay, I was never the ‘party girl’, but when I was alive, I would always go and have some fun. C’mon, I’m not a prude. I’m not Twilight Sparkle. In one day that I was with her, I already observed her enough to know that she was only going to that stupid party because they were her friends.

I was sitting on my bed, one day after talking with Twilight and making the deal and it was already night, looking at Twilight that just finished dressing for that Pinkie girl’s party. I was still wearing my usual clothes and didn’t mind not changing them, I mean… Why would I? The thing I was looking more forward to was meeting that Fluttershy, and getting to know that Discord, so maybe we would destroy that magical sucking device thing faster than what I had expected. And so I wouldn’t have to care about teaching a nerd about magic. Profit.

“Are you done? I never thought you would be that kind of girl,” I rolled my eyes and heard Twilight let off an irritated sigh.

“I am not… ‘that’ kind of girl, okay?” She paused and turned to me, “I’m ready. I was just thinking while looking at the mirror.” Twilight coughed, “Now let’s go. Pinkie’s room isn’t far, it’s actually almost next to ours” She walked to the door and opened it, I followed her. She locked the door and then kept walking towards where was that girl’s room.

“So… how are those friends of yours?” I asked after a moment of silence.

“They are great. Well… at least for me. I don’t know how a grumpy she-demon would think about them,” Twilight answered with what looked to be a little provocative smile on her face and I only raised a eyebrow.

“I’m not ‘grumpy’, okay? I just want to do my work and go home, and maybe become something important to Tartarus, alright? And I really don’t like the idea of spending time with humans. I was actually kind of glad for leaving this world,” when I said it Twilight seemed confused.

“Why?” She asked, “All the stories we hear about Tartarus being a bad and terrible place are… kind of real right? So… why do you still want to stay there?” Twilight whispered asking, afraid that someone could listen. They would probably think that we are crazy.

“Because humans are assholes.” I answered just like that.

“Not all of them are, you think I am an asshole? I mean… I never did anything bad.” Twilight’s voice was weak, like I had hurt her. “I mean… well, not if you consider creating the device with Discord a bad thing.” She laughed nervously.

I didn’t answered for a minute. She wasn’t bad, she really wasn’t, she was just… keeping me from where I wanted to be. And that made her just a little bit of a problem, but not an asshole. “Well… no, I don’t think you are. Don’t worry.” I smiled a little at her and Twilight smiled back. I then widened my eyes, “Wait… that doesn't make us friends, alright?”

Twilight giggled, “Don’t worry. I know the rules, and I’m not willing to mess with a she-demon’s rules.” She winked and I smirked.

    “I bet you aren’t.”

As I said that, we stopped in front of a door, it was like fifteen rooms after ours, and Twilight knocked it. I could hear the voices of people talking, mainly a excited feminine voice that wasn’t just talking, she was practically screaming!

The door opened in seconds. “TWI-TWI!” It was a small girl, blue eyes, curly pink hair. I judged that to be Pinkie Pie or something. “You’re here! Aaaand you brought someone!” the girl smiled brightly looking at me, and I waved with no excitement.

“Yes Pinkie, this Sunset Shimmer. Sunset Shimmer, Pinkie Pie.” She pointed from me to her.

“Oooh! Are you new here? What’s your birthday?! Your fave game? Do you like boys or girls? Do you prefer cats or dogs? OR MAYBE ALLIGATORS?!” Pinkie Pie asked nonstop. I blinked, confused as hell. “Where are you from?”

“Eh, oh, Manehattan.” I said nervously, the girl seemed to believe me.

“Awesome! Our friend Rarity was also from there! But you don’t look like a prissy girl, you almost look like you came from Ponyville, where it is super duper more fun than it is in Manehattan,” she exclaimed. She looked around for a second and then turned to us again, “Don’t tell Rarity I said that,” Pinkie said between her teeth.

“Pinkie Promise.” Twilight nodded and I just shrugged. “Anyways… Let’s go in?”

“Oh! Sorry, c’mon, make yourself at home!” Pinkie exclaimed as she bounced to her room. It was a little bigger than ours and while one part of it was full of food and sweets wrappers, on the ground and even in (what I supposed it was) Pinkie’s bed, the other side was completely clean and the dresser next to the other bed was full of makeup like lipsticks, eyeliners, eyeshadows, and every single kind of makeup under the sun. “Sorry for the mess! Dashie and Jackie are coming later, don’t worry,” She winked at Twilight and then jumped at her bed. “Rarity! Flutters! Twi-Twi brought a friend,” she exclaimed to the two girls who sat in the other bed, talking about something. There was a speaker in the corner of the room that was playing some music I didn’t knew, it was some shitty nowadays pop music. Rock was so much better.

One of the girls was very tall, with almost pallid skin, with a baby-pink hair and she was holding a bunny. I didn’t know how it got in, since animals weren’t allowed in that place, but I guess she broke some rules or the principal herself allowed it to come in. The other one had a darker skin tone, with purple hair and she was wearing makeup, I guessed that was the prissy girl Pinkie Pie talked about, Rarity.

“Oh, Twilight darling!” she got up and came to Twilight, hugging her. “So… who’s this?” Rarity asked, looking at me up and down.

“This is Sunset. Sunset Shimmer. I thought that Pinkie was going to be my roommate, but actually I misread it,” Twilight blushed a little.

“Well, hello darling.” Rarity winked at me and I smiled, almost letting out a smirk. “You know, I wish she was your roommate in Sunset’s place. No offense darling,” she said to me.

    “None taken.” I shrugged.

“Why? I thought Pinkie and you were always good friends,” Twilight giggled.

“Oh spend some days with her, darling. She has absolutely no chill,” Rarity looked back to see if Pinkie was hearing, but she was talking with the other girl. “Well… At least she sure knows how to brighten up someone’s day.’ A warm smile appeared in her face, with a bit of a blush, but then she coughed. “But she is still too much, oh my sweet Faust.” Rarity laughed a little.

“I think you can handle her, don’t worry.” Twilight said with a wink.

“I hope so,” Rarity sighed. “Come on darling, sit here. We need to talk about some things.” She said as she walked back to her bed and sat next to the tall girl who was laughing softly at a pun Pinkie had made.

Twilight just followed her and I followed too after Twilight gave me a look as if she was saying ‘just roll with it’ to me. She knew I wasn’t satisfied.

“Uh… I actually was going to say the same thing for you Rarity,” she said when she sat on the ground next to the bed. As the other bed was next to this one, I sat next to Pinkie Pie, who is sitting on her bed and was curiously observing me. “Actually, I need to talk about some things with Fluttershy.”

The tall girl widened her eyes. “M-m-me?” Apparently, the shy girl was… well, Fluttershy. What a twist, huh? I rolled my eyes mentally.

“Yes, it’s not too much. Me and Sunset only want to know something,” Twilight said calmly.

“Oh…” Fluttershy fiddled with her thumbs for a few moment. “Sun-Sunset? Is it… her?” She asked Twilight.

    “Yes,” Twilight nodded happily.

“Eh… h-h-h-hi.” Fluttershy said trying to hide behind her hair, giving me a timid wave and I smiled a little at her actions and then gave her a wave back. “W-what do you need from m-me?”

We looked at each other, and then at her again. “We-”

“Hey gang!” We jumped as we heard the door open and a hoarse feminine voice. I looked back to see an athletic  girl with average height and long rainbow hair entering the room with a box of bottled cider in her hands and was followed by a tall girl with blonde hair, and is very, very strong, if her biceps were any indication. “Wait… who’s this? I mean, I got like eight ciders here, some extra if anyone wanna drink more but maybe there’s not enough for her.”

“Oh, why, hello Rainbow darling. That’s Sunset,” Rarity jumped from the bed, seeming more excited than before, and walked towards the two girls, saying a ‘hi’ to the tall blonde and smooching her, both smiled to each other and then she turned to Rainbow again. “She won’t drink a lot, okay? And even if she does, you know Fluttershy doesn’t even drink.”

“Meh, that’s right. I totally forgot! We bought eight for nothing.” She looked down at the box and then let out a smirk, “Welp, more for us then!”

The blonde gave a small tap to the back of Rainbow’s head. “Ya’ ain’t gettin’ drunk tonight, no one is.” She crossed her arms at the smaller girl who pouted a little and then rolled her eyes.

“Alright, alright, mom.” Rainbow put the drink box in Pinkie’s dresser, that didn’t really had anything laying in it, and then sat on Pinkie’s bed, next to me. “So… Sunset, huh? You must be new here. I’m Rainbow ‘Danger’ Dash, but you can call me Dash,” she winked at me, reaching her hand out to me. I shook her hand slowly.

I frowned. Who had Danger as a middle name? “Rainbow ‘Danger’ Dash? Is Dan-”

“Nah,” the tall blonde girl sat next to Fluttershy and Rarity in the other bed, she already had a cup of cider in her hands. “That’s just Dash tryin’ to look cool.” The blonde laughed a little, Rainbow didn’t seemed to enjoy her words.

“I don’t need to try and look cool, okay? I’m already awesome.” She smiled and beat her chest, with a proud look on her face.

The blonde shook her head and turned to me. “Ah’m Applejack by the way, but ya’ can just call me Jack if ya’ wanna.” Applejack winked at me, I just gave her a forced smile.

Twilight coughed. “As I was saying before Rainbow entered here like a crazy-”

“Hey! I’m not crazy, the place “crazy” is already taken by Pinkie.” She mocked the pink haired girl who took a bottle and sat next to her.

Pinkie took some moments to answer. “But of course! It’s the best thing someone could ever be, Dashie!”

Everyone, except me, laughed together a little. Once they stopped, Twilight let out a last giggle and then “Anyways, Fluttershy we need to… know Discord’s number. He never gave me it, I don’t know why, he always seemed that he didn’t wanted to someone discover something about him.” Twilight added with a frown.

Applejack let out a discredited laugh. “Discord? Why ya’ll wanna talk with him? He’s a creepy-”

“He is not a creep!” Fluttershy suddenly rose her voice for the first time, then widened her eyes when she realized what she done. “S-sorry, I-I… didn’t meant to shout…” She coughed, “Applejack, h-he is not creepy, he is my friend. And Twi-Twilight’s too.”

Applejack crossed her arms, “Do what ya’ wanna do or talk with him, alright? But if ya’ll need help to find where the heck he’s then don’t ya’ expect me to help. Ah don’t like that guy…” She bit her lip.

“What makes him so bad?” I finally asked.

“Ah dunno, alright? He just… He’s too mysterious. Like he wants to hide something from everyone,” Applejack explained with a rushed voice.

“Well, what we need is serious, so Fluttershy… can we have his number, please?”

“I-I… uh… he doesn’t really like when people call him. B-but… I need to talk to him first, give me some t-time. M-maybe I can give you the number at the e-end of the party,” She explained with a much lower voice than when she was talking with Applejack. “I-if you will still want it, that is.”

“Absolutely,” Great, now we wait. I crossed my arms and she nodded, taking out her phone to probably talk with Discord.

“Hey guys, c’mon! We need to talk about some things, alright? Like what happened with the squad in the Holidays or what’s been up in life, you all know know the drill.” Rainbow interrupted and everyone agreed.

After that all six of them began to talk about everything they’ve done in the end of their first year there, I was quiet during the entire conversation. Rainbow Dash told about some… very unbelievable adventures she had with Pinkie Pie by her side (they almost seemed like sisters, but separated at birth, from all the time they spend together), Applejack about the life in her farm and how Fluttershy was helping her out there. Rarity talked about how she got an opportunity to work with her aunt, a very famous designer, called Sassy or something like that and Twilight told me about an experiment that she was doing and that it gone totally wrong. And she said Discord was involved. She never mentioned the part that it was a magic sucking device, however… they would think she was crazy.

“So… that’s why you need Discord?” Rainbow asked.

“Yes, he may… be able to help it ‘work out’ and Sunset will also help too, she may even teach me one or two things,” Twilight smiled at me with happiness and I, somehow, gave someone the first genuine smile that night.

“Sunset is an egghead like you?” Rainbow giggled a little.

I rolled my eyes. “I know some stuff. But that doesn’t make me a nerd. Not that there are problems with nerds,” Unless they suck your magic, then that’s a problem, I added in my mind. “I’m more of a music person.”

Rainbow shrugged, ignoring me. “Anyways, take care, ‘cause I need to go with AJ in this one. Discord is… a total creep, sorry Flutters.” She smiled kindly at the tall girl, who nodded slowly.

    “I like him!” Pinkie exclaimed.

“Pinkie, you like everyone.” Rainbow added with a chuckle.

“That’s true,” Pinkie nodded and Rainbow shook her head.

The ‘party’ had gone well, we talked a little more and we got the drinks, even I got some. But, finally, when the clock beat eleven o’clock we all needed to sleep. Rainbow and Applejack, who were roommates, gone together to their room, Applejack gave Rarity a kiss first and then left.

Fluttershy and us gave Rarity and Pinkie a ‘bye’ and then walked out from the room, still staying in front of their door. Then Fluttershy turned to us. “He says… that he want to, uhh, talk personally with you t-two a-and don’t worry he-he knows what the t-thing you are, uhh, talking about…” She nodded.

“Thank you, Fluttershy. I think that, without you, we wouldn’t make him say where he was.” Twilight smiled, ‘So…?”

“Oh, eh… He’s living in Ponyville. It’s four hours from h-here. But you can g-go on Saturday, since we… don’t have classes that day.” Fluttershy explained and blushed a little, looking down. “C-can I go? I… really want to see him.” She gave us a timid smile.

“Oh…” Twilight looked at me, “Sunset can she-”

“She can, I understand you wanna see him, don’t worry. Just… not getting around our business, then it’s okay.” I said and Fluttershy smiled brightly at me.

“Thank you!” She exclaimed and then coughed. “H-he gave me the directions and where he’s, uh, living. S-so I’ll give you the address when we are going there o-okay?”

“Awesome, thanks again.” Twilight said with a smile.

Fluttershy widened her eyes suddenly. “Oh! I-I said you were Sunset S-Shimmer and… he says he wants your n-number. Can I…?” She asked weakly. “I really don’t know why he wants it, but…”

“Eh… alright.” I shrugged, feeling kind of suspicious and then said my number out loud, as she sent it to the man. As Tirek was, sometimes, smart, he gave me a phone just in case I needed it. “There, just don’t call me in the middle of the night, I’m not okay with it.”

Fluttershy giggled. “I-I don’t think he will,” we stayed in silence for a moment. “Eh… I need to go. Tree Hugger must be expecting me to come, she said she wanted to show me something… ‘out of this world’.” She smiled and waved us a ‘bye’ and then walked away.

I looked at Twilight. “Seriously, who’s that Discord?”

Twilight sighed. ‘He is… mysterious, like Applejack said, but don’t worry, he won’t do anything bad. He may be random and look crazy, but he’s not bad.” She secured me, “Now let’s go, I’m kind of tired right now.” She didn’t had to say anything, I had already started following her back to our room.

For my surprise, I couldn’t sleep. I was tired, we danced a little and I even had some drinks and I was tired. But still I couldn’t stop thinking why the heck that man wanted my number. I was starting to think that maybe he was more than everyone thought he was… And maybe he even knew more than everyone...

“Twilight?” For some reason I felt the urge to call Twilight and see if she was awake, just to have someone to talk with. I desisted in the first try, she was already sleeping.

I sighed and looked at the ceiling for what looked like hours, but I was just being dramatic, and it was actually just some minutes. Then I heard something vibrating, it was my phone. I turned to the dresser, where it was and lazily took it and saw that I had a new message.

It was from Discord. I widened my eyes and opened it, only to see it said something weird: I know who u r, Sunset Shimmer. Don’t u worry. I’ll help u two, but I need 2 have a talk with u, a very important one. Arrivederci ;)

I frowned at the message and put my phone back to where it was. “What the heck…” I murmured.

What does he wants from me? I didn’t knew, but, for some reason, I was curious and scared at the same time. Saturday couldn’t come faster. And in that night, I was lucky as fuck, I didn’t slept. Ugh.
