It was November 5th. Nearly all of Ponyville gathered in the fields to watch and set fireworks off. The sight was beautiful with the fireworks bursting into many different colours which lit up the sky. One particular pony who never missed a fireworks show was Fluttershy. She loved watching the fireworks with Angel. But this day had bad luck written all over it for Fluttershy. A pony decided to set off one final firework, the biggest of them all. All ponies stood a safe range away from the firework with a barrier making sure of that. Suddenly, when the firework exploded in the sky, a huge spark soared down from the sky and was heading right for Fluttershy. It was hurling at her too fast for her to react in time. Angel ran as fast as he could away from the spark but once it hit Fluttershy fire quickly spread across the field.

She lost her sight.

"Fluttershy? Can you hear me?"

...

"Well, uh... I just wanted to let you know that Angel is okay. According to the vets, he was only slightly burned and is doing well. It would be nice if you could wake up soon but... the nurse said... you've been blinded."

...

"Um... Pinkie Pie is making some cupcakes for you. Your favourite, a simple banana frosting. Twilight, Rarity and Applejack visited you a while ago, so now it's just me."

She hears a sigh. A long, impatient and sad sigh.

"I'm going now. Twilight, Pinkie, Applejack, Rarity and I will be her tomorrow. The nurse said you could wake up tonight but we have to give you rest. So... um... bye."

Fluttershy was upset.

She was upset because her sight as lost and she wouldn't see anything every again. She would be stuck like this. For the 2 weeks since she got out of hospital, she never left the safety of her own cottage. She stayed there and in the garden. Her friends tried to convince her to step into Ponyville again, but the pegasus wouldn't budge.

Until one fateful day, when Angel went missing.

Angel sometimes ran off but never far distances. He knew he would get scolded but he also knew he was playing around. One day, Angel disappeared from the cottage. Fluttershy had her animals search for the missing bunny but there was no luck. He couldn't be found. So Fluttershy took a deep breath, and decided to venture out into Ponyville for the first time in 2 weeks. Alone.

For Fluttershy, not being able to see was absolute hell for her. She couldn't see her surroundings. She couldn't see other ponies. She couldn't see her friends. Wandering off in Ponyville was quite dangerous now, as anything could happen to her. She had to rely on sounds and touch to carry on living. Ponies were chattering all around her, the sound of wind and birds chirping surrounding her. "A-Angel?" She called out, stuttering. No response.

"Fluttershy? You're finally outside! We've missed you darling." A voice said from behind Fluttershy. She slowly turns around and sticks her hoof out. The other pony grabs Fluttershy's hoof. "It's me, Rarity. In case you couldn't tell." she adds on, giggling.

"Oh... hi Rarity. I'm just going to find Angel. i'm sure he's not far." Fluttershy whispers back. She didn't want anypony to notice her going out for she though she'd be bugged.

"Isn't that going to be hard for you? Do you want me to help so I can walk with you?" Rarity asks.

"NO!" Fluttershy unintentionally snaps. Rarity is slightly taken back by the sudden outburst. "I mean... no. Sorry for yelling. I just saw him run off not far from here. He won't take long to find."

Rarity seemed unsure at first, but decided not to keep bugging Fluttershy about it. "Ok darling. But stay safe." she says as she walks away from Fluttershy and back into her home.

It had been nearly an hour. Fluttershy was still looking for Angel, and the sky was beginning to turn dark. No more brightness and no more peaceful sounds. Just quiet. She had no clue where she was. She could feel the cold wind blowing on her face as she continue to maker her away around town. All of a sudden, a strong force pushes her to the ground. Fluttershy rushes to feel the ground around her but a voice makes her freeze.

"Don't. Even. MOVE."

The voice was low and raspy. It seemed scary, and Fluttershy stopped all of her movements and remained on the ground. "I hope you realized that you just pushed a BLIND pony down. That's just disrespectful, you know." Fluttershy speaks, trying to hide the fear in her voice.

"Yes, I have. But all I care about is getting money, so give me all your bits. NOW." The threatening voice says.

Fluttershy lifts her head and tries to sense her surroundings, but her head is forcefully pushed back down. Reacting on impulse, Fluttershy quickly stands up and waves her hoof around smacking the mysterious pony in the face. A low growl is heard before Fluttershy feels an even stronger force against her body, which lifts her off of the ground. She feel herself falling so she begins to scream. The wind against her gets colder and she feels her bandage begin to slip off her eyes. She slams into the ground.

1 hour later, Fluttershy began to stir. The sun is setting and the sky has gotten much more darker, but Fluttershy couldn't tell. She felt around her face and realized that her bandage is missing. She crawled across the ground around her to try and find her bandage, but ended up moving deeper into a forest. The Everfree Forest. It's not a pleasant place to go, especially at night. But poor Fluttershy had no clue where she was. She felt helpless and scared, and she needed to find her way out of wherever she had fallen. The Pegasus tried to stand up, but a pain through her right foreleg made her collapse. She had thought it was badly sprained, but the reality was that it was completely broken. She couldn't tell though and that made her upset.

It had now been several hours. It was completely dark and being in the Everfree Forest at this time is completely unsafe. And Fluttershy was still crawling through the forest. She was shivering because of the low temperature and because she was utterly terrified. She had screamed many times for help in the past few hours, but all is silent. Flutter grabs onto a tall tree, and stands up on one hind leg. From there, she carefully and slowly lifts herself into the air. She beings flying slow at first, but upon hearing a loud, fierce growl, she began zooming in between trees but it wasn't long till she smacked into a tree, and fell back. But when she fell, she landed on a small bump. Turning over, she moves back slightly and begins to feel the ground. Eventually, she feels the small bump that she landed on. But it felt... fluffy. So the thought got to her head that she landed on an animal. Heartbroken, she brings the fluffy bump close to her. But upon feeling it more, she feels something pointy. Ears. Long, bunny ears. You see, Fluttershy loved animals and spent so much time with them that even with her eyes closed, he could tell what animals she was holding. And Fluttershy could tell that she was holding a bunny. A dead bunny. Angel bunny. Immediately, she burst out crying, tears streaming down her face. She kept cuddling the little bunny and her cries could be heard from miles away. Luckily, her cries were so loud that she was finally heard.

"FLUTTERSHY?! IS THAT YOU?"

It has now been 5 months since the most scariest thing Fluttershy ever encountered. A visit to the doctor's office revealed that she had broken her foreleg and fractured her spine. After bringing home to bunny, it was confirmed to be Angel. Fluttershy was so heartbroken and confused. Did she kill him by landing on him? Or was he already dead? She will never know. For the pat few months, she left herself be smothered by love from her friends and animals. They helped her to sense her surroundings and be able to travel safely around Equestria. But Fluttershy's heart was still broken. Although she may have adjusted to being blind for possible her life, she would never forget finding her favourite little animal dead.

"Hey uh... Pinkie?"

"Yeah?"

"Where are we going? I don't like this."

"That's right, you don't, But you will love it, trust me!"

Pinkie gave Fluttershy a box.

Fluttershy opened the box.

She felt inside the box.

It was small, very fluffy and had long ears. It was a bunny.
