Wake Up Call

V-35 Ox Transport

4th of November Year 2078

10:00 Hours

Location – Threshold 19, Italy

The Mediterranean wind was moving slowly over the newborn trees. The landscape forever changed after almost continues wars deep trenches were all over and the ruins of an old city still stood there, its buildings still in ruins and not moved for almost a century. But an evil shadow still rested upon the dead city, ‘Kane’s Tower’ was still in the same place for over 20 years, the evil presence of those who left through it still lingers on this desolate place. Now it was quiet almost too quiet. The roaring of engines soon come into sound and another small shadow came from a hill overlooking the tower. It was a VTOL Ox the symbol of the GDI clearly painted on is two engines. Inside is infantry compartment was a Zone Trooper Squad, four men it high-tech armor capable of withstanding anything that is thrown at them. However, in this squadron there was an intruder more or less. There was one colonel and two majors, but there was also a Lieutenant who just finished boot camp and was assigned to this squadron as a replacement of a former soldier who died by the hands of Nod Separatists. The others looked upon him as an intruder, he didn’t feel better anyhow, joining the army only when the war finished, all looked at him more of a traitor than a patriot, but despite all these said, he didn’t care his only objective is to serve Initiative as good as he can. In his lonely dark corner, never speaking only listening, analyzing and fighting.

“Colonel what’s this mission all about?” One of the troopers asked.

“Yeah, InOps was a little stingy on details.”

“Well guys we are going to the Alien Tower, we have been having reports of Nod activity and we are sent to scout the area around it and find traces of enemy activity.” The Colonel responded.

“And if we find?”

“If we find, we are authorized to call in an air-strike and level all that stands. Do you understand Major?”

“Yes, sir I do!” He said saluting. The Colonel looked at the ‘Rookie’ and saw him not saying anything, like always, but didn’t bother asking him.

“One minute to LZ.” The Pilot began.

“Alright, you heard him, get ready.” The Colonel said. The four men began to put there helmets and take the safety off there weapons. The Lieutenant had only a railgun at his disposal; another had attached Dual Surface to Air-Launchers, the other had a Chaingun and the Colonel had a Mini –Ion Cannon. The ramp opened at the back of the aircraft, the transport’s speed decreased. Then an explosion rocked the aircraft, it was hit by a SAM missile and was spinning out of control, the Lieutenant took a daring and jumped out of the burning transport. Another explosion came and the Ox was engulfed by the flames, out trooper was hit in the back by the blunt of the explosion and lost his conscious. He tumbled towards the earth not knowing what will come. A voice spoke to him saying simply: ‘Rise, your time hasn’t come yet.’ The young soldier snapped his eyes open looking at his holographic display. He recognized the diagnostic program and saw that his suit, despite what he’s been through, had only a few small problems which were not life-threatening. He rose on his two mechanical legs and looked around him. “Ouch, what a headache.” He complained. His scanner said that it was all clear no enemies around. A smoke cloud was seen over small hill, it was probably where the transport crashed. He started going towards it, loosing his weapon made him cautious as he went forward, reaching the hill he climbed it and when he was on top he saw the crashed Ox, not much was left of it he saw the troop bay still intact as he approached he saw three armors lying on the ground. The glass-helmets were shattered and shrapnel was stuck deep in the bodies of his fellow men. Walking to each of them and taking there dog tags. Taking the two rocked launchers and a rail gun in his hand keeping the small ion cannon on his back in case of emergency. He didn’t really know what to do the Colonel knew what he needed to do and was a little lost in here. The something made him snap.

“Anyone reading this. This is InOps Headquarters, anyone reading me.”

“This is Lieutenant Abel, I hear you InOps.” He said in his radio.

“Oh you gave us quite a shock, your transport disappeared of radar and we thought we lost you. What about Colonel Byrne and the rest of your team?” He looked again at his fallen team members and sighted.

“Negative. Is just me.” After a moment of silence the person on the radio asked.

“What happened, Lieutenant?”

“I am pretty sure we got shot down by SAM missiles. InOps I am pretty lost around here and I don’t know where to go from here.”

“We know Lieutenant we will send you some help in a minute. After it lands find the pod there you will find information about the next course of action.”

“Alright InOps wish me luck.”

“Good luck Lieutenant, InOps out.” Moreover, the radio feed ended. A boom was heard and he saw a pod descending towards the ground very fast. It struck a nearby building; he rushed forward and saw that it was a small pod not being able to carry more than a container. Approaching the small pod opened he looked curious, but there was only a small card which used to store data. ‘What are those goons at Central Command think they do, could have least send me some transport, but no just a stupid card. Oh what the hell it can’t be worse than what I’ve been through already.’ He took the card and inserted in one of the slots on his back, right beneath his helmet. A voice then began.

“Oh thank God.” He took his weapon and waved it around, but there was no one. “Right here big guy.” The voice said again.

“Who are you show yourself?” He demanded.

“Alright you wanted it.” A woman who appeared to be made only of blue light stood on his holographic display. “Are you happy?” She smiled.

“Who…What are you?” He asked.

“I am Eva or at least one of the many versions.”

“You are an E.V.A. Unit?”

“Yes, more of a prototype. I am not like my former versions. I can take my own decision, I’m not just a database, and I am alive, just that I don’t have a real body.”

“So why did they sent you here?” He asked the AI.

“Well first I need to be field tested and the second I am the only thing capable of guiding you on this mission, hope you don’t mind?”

“I don’t really mind, but how are you going to help me?”

“I have all the necessary information regarding your objective also I have a direct link with every satellite on this planet. So I am pretty damn important.”

“Ok you made your point. If you don’t mind where our first objective is is?”

“Well first we need to get at this location near the ‘Tower’.” A map appeared on his screen. “After that we will need to find as many information about what’s happening in this sector. Any questions?”

“Only one, do you know why the Nod’s interested in the structure after Kane left?”

“We don’t really know ourselves, but we believe that they may try and activate it.”

“Again?” He questioned.

“Yes, but we are here to stop them, first time we got lucky this time it could end with a Tiberium explosion and we barely got rid of that stuff so we have to stop them.”

“I understand, well let’s get going.”

Our soldier started to walk out of the immediate area and into the city ruins. He took each step with care and not trying to make more noise than was needed. However, something struck him; it was to quiet, no tracks, and no footsteps, nothing to indicate a Nod presence in the area.

“Eva, are you sure we are on the right way?”

“Yes I am very sure we should reach the base of the ‘Tower’ in half an hour.”

“I really hate long walks.” He complained. His sensors started to give a red alert and the AI snapped.

“Nod vehicles coming out way, we need to hide.” He didn’t need to be said twice, running towards a ruined building and hiding in the rubble. Now it was all or nothing. The engines started to get louder and they made a grand appearance. They were three Reckoner’s escorted by three Scorpion Mk. I tanks and four Flame Tanks. It was probably a cargo transport. After they were gone, Abel still waited a minute or two before coming out of his hiding. Looking down the road something made him flinch.

“Eva, where are they?”

“What do you mean?”

“They are gone and my sensors are not finding them.”

“Well they couldn’t have in another direction this is the only road that leads to the Tower.” The Lieutenant thought about it and then had an idea.

“Eva can you link with a few satellites I want a little scan of the area.”

“What are you thinking?” She asked.

“I have a little hunch.” She nodded and did what she was asked after a minute something appeared on his screen it was a map of the region.

“You have some dumb luck did you know that?”

“If only it was luck, what did you find?”

“I linked with a few specialized satellites to get a better picture, at the base of the tower there is a large Nod base is defended by Obelisk’s of the Light and SAM missile Hubs. If we are going to take out that base we need some heavy cover.”

“Call Central Command and give them the details.”

“You got it.” After a small pause, she began. “Abel, I have General Sandra Telfair on a secure channel, she wants to talk to you.” He only answered simply.

“Ok.” An image was now transmitted on his screen.

“Lieutenant. How are you today?”

“Pretty good General, despite what I’ve been through.” He gave a sigh.

“I am sorry for the rest of your squad, but we will mourn them later. Right now, we have much to tell you. A week ago, one of our TCN was captured by the Nod and disassembled. We didn’t know where it was sent, but it seems is here near the Scrin Tower, we believe they may try and bring back Tiberium on Earth and that’s unacceptable. Lieutenant you have new orders. A few transports are on route with reinforcements to help you with the next part of the mission. Your objective is to take out that base and recapture that Hub. Good luck Lieutenant.” And the transmission ended.

“Well, Eva it seems I am going to need your help on this one.” Then someone came in the radio.

“This is transport Sierra one to Lieutenant Abel, come in.”

“I hear you Sierra one, how are you boys?”

“Pretty good sir we are on approach E.T.A. one minute.”

“Ok man; get the toys down here safely.”

“We will Lieutenant we will.” And after a minute seven V-35 Ox Transports came they had two Guardian APC, two CC-6 Pitbulls and two MBT-6 Predator Tanks, another transport had an MCV under is belly, the other two had troop compartments. They descended and let go of there of there ‘gifts’. The other two transport carried two Sniper Teams and two Missile Squads. The transport took to the skies again and left the troops down to face what is to come.

“Lieutenant.” One of the Snipers said. He turned to the soldier. “Private Michael Conrad, sir we are here to help you.”

“Thanks for coming Mike. We need to get the MCV out of this location is too exposed we need to move out.”

“Alright sir. You heard him guys let’s roll.” They started to move, when the ground beneath them began to shake violently. The building, which were already in ruins started to crumble more. A frantic voice was heard through the radio.

“Abel, get you men out of there. The Tower is activating repeat the Tower is activating.” Then only static an orb of pure white began expanding, engulfing the tower and everything near it. After it subsided, nothing was left there, no more soldiers or vehicles, only dust.

E.V.A Unit version 5.0.1.2

4th of November Year 2078

12:00 Hours

Location – Unknown

A nail in the head that’s what he felt right now, Abel only a sharp pain that was making him scream his lungs off. Nevertheless, it subsided and something else he felt, something strange a presence which made him comfortable, he opened his eyes a little, but his vision was blurry he only distinguishes a two shadows which where probably looking at him. He only heard a voice: ‘Save as many as you can’. And his vision became black again. Then another voice spoke. “Lieutenant, wake up.” His eyes opened again to see Mike and two other soldiers looking at him. One of them put a light in his eyes.

“He’s coming back, Mike.”

“What a headache.” He groaned.

“Are you alright sir any dizziness or something hurting?” A woman said.

“No, I am ok. Just feeling a little strange.” He responded.

“Yeah we all felt the same when we woke up.” Another soldier responded.

“What happened?” He said as he tried to walk on his legs, still a little wobbly but managed.

“We don’t really know sir. After that light ‘bubble’ got us we lost our consciousness.” Mike answered.

“I was the first to wake up and then I tried to wake the other we are all accounted for.” Another soldier.

“Thanks for the information…” Abel hesitated.

“Corporal Pathe, sir.” He saluted and the Lieutenant saluted back.

“Sir you were the last to wake up, so to put you up to speed.” Mike said. “All of our equipment seems to be in order, all the vehicles are fine including the MCV, but there’s a problem. We haven’t been able to contact any GDI forces, is like we are someplace else.”

“Of course we are someplace else.” Abel said as he looked to the sky.

“Why do you say so?”

“The stars they seem to be out of place. I can’t recognize any constellation.” He responded. “Is safe to assume that what happened at the Tower in Italy sent us to another planet.” All the others stood with there mouths wide open at what he said. “This day is getting better and better.” He said with a sigh.

“Well even if we are on another planet we need to find some food and water and also get out of this forest.” Pathe said still calm, but with some hesitation in his voice.

“We will leave as soon as Snyder and Hunter come back. They have been gone for an hour.” Then some rustling came from some bushes. All present got ready with there weapons getting ready to fire, but a familiar face came into view.

“Wow easy guys, is us.” He said with his hands raised. The two men having camouflage suit and the respective outback type hat.

“What took you so long?”

“Sorry sir we had to be a little careful not to get detected.”

“Detected by whom I may ask? By aliens.” The woman soldier laughed.

“If it were aliens, Karen, I think you would be the first to go. But no Lieutenant it was the Nod.” That word made was like a brick thrown in there face.

“Are you sure, Hunter?” Mike asked.

“Very sure. At six miles in that direction.” He said pointing at the forest. “We stumbled upon a settlement it was large enough to house a few hundred people. We tried to take a closer look, but then we stopped and we saw it. An Avatar Warmech, but it wasn’t alone there were several Scorpion Tanks, Attack Bikes and Flame Tanks. Also the city was crawling with soldiers.”

“But it is impossible if this is another world what are the Nod doing here?” She asked.

“Unless…”

“Unless what, Pathe?”

“Unless this is the place where Kane and the rest of his devoted Brotherhood of Nod ‘ascended’.”

“That makes sense, so that means they have been around here for a year or so.” Mike said.

“Still that complicates things very much. Remember the entire Brotherhood followed Kane through the Tower. We are not equipped to face a force that vast and with no support, we are dead in the water.”

“No we are not.” The Lieutenant began. “Even if the Nod is here we can’t stay and hope for things to get better. We need to make them at least pay for there crimes. Hunter, Snyder is there anything else we need to know?”

“Yes sir. We also so some train tracks there and another things sir, we saw some cages there when we looked in the cages, we saw horses.”

“You saw what?” Karen asked.

“Horses?” Mike asked as well.

“Yes they were hold up in several cages, we didn’t take a good look at them, but there were a few dozens.”

“This is getting interesting.”

“Ok it doesn’t really matter where the horses came from; we need to focus how to get rid of the Nod forces. And we need to move all of you get your gear we are moving out.” The Lieutenant ordered.

“Yes, sir.” They all saluted. Gathering there equipment was easy after five minutes, they were ready to go. The Lieutenant because of is suit was unable to board any of the vehicles so he took point behind him followed the rest. The two tanks were in front in order to clear the way for the large MCV, followed by the Pitbulls and at the back of were the two APC’s. The convoy made is way towards there objective slowly trying not to bring to much attention to them, despite there size, the engines were still silent enough. I took about twenty minutes until the Lieutenant said in his radio.

“Alright guys stop now; we are nearing the exit of the forest.” All the vehicles stop in there tracks from the APC’s descended the infantry following the Lieutenant out of the dense forest. As they moved forward the moon light creped through the branches of the trees like making them a safe road for them to move on.

“Abel are you sure what we will do is the right call?” The A.I. asked him.

“I don’t really know myself Eva, but I have the feeling things will get more interesting.”

“Well I am here so I am going to help you no matter what, but don’t get yourself killed. OK?”

“Ok.” He looked around and only saw a small building more likely a cottage. “Strange it looks like a small house, but is too small for a human to live in it.”

“Maybe they are short aliens.” Mike joked and the other soldiers laughed a little.

“We will think about that later, we need to move out. Mike, tell the escorts and the MCV to wait in the forest until we will contact them.”

“Yes sir.” Then a small strange sound was heard all of them hold there weapons scouring the immediate area, but found nothing. The sound was heard again, this time Abel looked up and saw something unexpected, he saw a strange bird it was fairly large, despite the dim light is feathers were clearly visible there were red and is underbelly and tail were orange. The bird stared at the Lieutenant for a second until it flew in the night sky.

“Strange.” Was his only response. The soldiers moved forward cautiously scanning the immediate area to be able to eliminate or evade any enemy patrols, but it wasn’t the case the road was easy and uneventful. They reached a hill and took cover in under some trees. The position gave them clear vision of the nearby town and any enemy positions. Hunter and Mike were already scouring the are with there sniper rifles and Abel was doing the same thing, but with binoculars. There was a large building in the middle of the town.

“Well they have an Operation Center, two Hands’ of Nod, a Secret Shrine and two Power Plants.” Mike analyzed.

“Any defenses?” Karen asked. He looked again.

“Four Shredder Turrets guarding the four main roads into the city.”

“Any units active?”

“I see two Attack Bikes patrolling the streets. Also there are a few troops at the train station loading something on the train. All the other units including the Avatar seem to be offline and parked near the Power Plants. Let me switch to thermal. Ok now is interesting the building in the center has some troops in it as well some of the buildings near the Shredder Turrets.”

“Ok here is how we are going to do it. Mike and Snyder, you two take out as many soldiers as you can. The rest will enter the city in full force, try to kill as many Nod’s, but try not to kill yourselves and any of those horses. Wait for my signal and then go. Have you all got it?”

“Yes sir!” They yelled.

“Shhhh. An ‘ok’ could have been enough.” He said making a face palm.

“Sir what will be the signal like?” A soldier asked.

“It will be sound of the Power Plants exploding he smiled and went on his way leaving the soldiers with there mouth open. He was surely on his way and slowly approached as the building became more visible. He reached the bank of the river on the other side the objective and there was only one way he could cross it.

“Ok, Abel you can do this like in training.” He said somehow uneasy.

“Abel, don’t tell me you have never used your Jump Jets?” She asked.

“Of course I have, but only in training, never on the field.”

“Alright. If I had fingers they’ll be crossed.” She said and disappeared from his screen. Taking the launch position, the Lieutenant activated his Jet’s and took off. Making a small explosion as he went forward he started to descend right upon the buildings. Landing on his legs as fast as he could took the explosives and put them on the Power Plants and the nearby vehicles. Taking a safe distance, he said.

“Eva, light the candlelight’s.” He said. And two explosions in close succession were heard and seen. The energy stopped flowing and the defenses were broken it was time to act. Abel started running towards the train station, but it didn’t take long and he was given a warming welcome by the Nod troops.

“Brothers, look there!” One of the Nod soldiers yelled at the others.

“Kill him!” Another yelled.

“Oh crap.” Our Zone Trooper began to run and took cover behind some crates. “Eva, where are they?”

“There are right behind us near the building.” He armed his Railgun and was ready to rock. He gave away the cover and started shooting. Thin white lines were traced as the powerful armor piercing rounds made short work of the low armored infantry. After he finished, he continued down the road, but after turning a corner something stood in front of the road, which made Abel stop, and shaken a little in fear. Looking at him with red eyes and an emotionless face an Awakened. That was one of the things the Zone Troopers were afraid to speak the only things capable of killing a highly trained Trooper and one was looking at the Lieutenant right now. With eyes filled of hate, he said.

“Terminate!” The robotic voice said. And it started; first he tried his EMP cannon. But Abel was faster and managed to dodge the blast, but shortly after, bullet after bullet like in an endless rain came upon him as the contraption unleashed is weapon. This time he wasn’t so lucky, before he could cover two bullets hit his side and now he was bleeding, but not yet dead.

“Come on Abel, you are not going to die here.” He reassured himself and started to get on his feet. He saw the cyborg ready to take is kill. But in that second it was hit by a blast and then another one after missiles came and made the contraption go back to the hell that spawned him. He looked into the direction of the firing and saw the two Predator Tanks as there were coming his way. Flowed by the other vehicles and the soldiers.

“Took you all long enough.” He said sarcastically.

“Sorry sir. It took longer that expected to clear those buildings. Good news is that the only remaining troops are the station and I have put some boys on guard at the Operation Center so that they will not send for backup.”

“Good job, then Mike. But we still need to take on the soldiers from the station and fast. If not they could escape by train and alert other Nod forces and we really don’t want that.” Ignoring the pain, he was up on his two feet

“Alright sir. Let’s get going guys.” Whispering only for the Lieutenant, Eva began.

“Abel you should rest you have a pretty bad wound there.”

“I will Eva, but only after I have this thing done already.” They were nearing the station and were greeted by bullets from almost every direction. Cartages were falling down on the ground as the infantries battled the enemy was trying to get out using the train, but one of the Predator took a daring leap and position itself in front of the locomotive to stop them from escaping by train. The Nod infantry soon fell prey to the better-placed bullets by the GDI forces. Abel moved towards the cages and ripped there entrance door he did the same to several other ones. He moved away as from the dark cages come something unexpected. There were ponies, but not ordinary ones. There colors were very strange some green, blue or orange. Then something else they say they had different appendages like wings and horns. The ponies started to look strange at the soldiers. Wondering who were they and why did they help them? One of the ponies, a purple one came closer to the soldier and said slowly.

“Thank you.” This was to much for them an animal to speak.

“Freaking hell, it spoke.” Snyder said.

“Of course, I can speak we all can don’t we?” The unicorn said with a little annoyance.

“Ok so all horses around here can speak?” Karen asked.

“We are actually ponies and yes we can all speak. And now I ask you who are you and why did you help us?” There was some silence, but someone else bulged in. “Sir we have Venoms inbound e.t.a. thirty seconds.” One of Pitbull drivers said.

“Everybody take cover now.” Abel shouted to everyone. All the ponies started to run in fear towards the building taking shelter in it. The Patrol Crafts came and they started shooting with there machineguns in everything that was moving. But as soon as they came in range there were met by a barrage of missiles. But managed to launch a missile and because of his wound the Lieutenant was unable to evade the blast that was made. He was propelled forward by the force of the blast and closing his eyes, he lost his consciousness.

In the dungeon beneath a shimmering castle, the moon light shined through a small window upon the face of a pony waking her up. A bird came onto the window and entered the cell it only whispered a little to her master and she thanked her.

“Thank you my dear, this is great news indeed.” She looked on the window towards the moonlight and said. “So they have come as I dreamed. Maybe there is still hope for us.”

  Chapter 2: Unicorn Dawn

5th of November Year 2078

08:00 Hours

Location Ponyville, Equestria

Abel in his mind was gathering all that happened the night before. The Tower in Italy, the Nod forces, his and his men’s unexpected journey to a strange new planet, the Nod presence there and the ponies that talked. But no matter how he put them it was too much for a single man. Being blasted two times and shot once didn’t help either. Still he felt at ease now, he felt a presence one which he felt before and made him calm, but couldn’t open his eyes to see who or what it was. ‘Just remember, never give up.’ A voice spoke to him and his eyes snapped open. He was staring at the white ceiling, but what made him flinch was a beeping sound, looking to his right side, he saw a wire and a device that registered his EKG. Lying on his soft bed, he still thought of what happened and wondered when and how his life would finally end, he had several narrow escapes, but it was like someone or something kept him alive for some reason.

The door in front of him started to open and they came in view they were two a woman medic who he saw earlier that night and the purple unicorn that he encountered.

“Well seems you are alright after all, Lieutenant.” The doctor said.

“I don’t know your comparison of alright blasted to times and shot once, doesn’t really enter the ‘I am alright’ category.” He responded.

“Of course, sir. But someone wanted to meet you and properly thank you.” She said pointing at the unicorn.

“Thank you very much and I speak in the name of everypony, what you did last night saved a lot of lives, Lieutenant.” She said in a soft voice.

“Your welcome, miss…” He hesitated.

“Twilight Sparkle.”

“Twilight Sparkle, your much welcome. But I fear we have only made things worse.” He sighted as he tried to get out of his bed.

“Why do you say that?”

“Because if there commander don’t have any report from them, they will send here a response team to check on them and I don’t know how many will come and how well equipped.”

“I still think you did a good job you saved the lives of many ponies.” She reassured him by putting a hoof on his hand.

“Doctor Diana, has the Lieutenant woken up?” A voice through the radio was heard.

“Yes he’s up.”

“Alright get him here at the Library. We have something to talk about.”

“As you wish. Lieutenant, do you fell like you can walk?” He got out of his bed and started walking a little.

“I have been shot, not incapacitated I am more that able to.” He joked.

“Yes sir, let’s get you some clothes and head to the library.” The Lieutenant received the most necessary clothes and respectfully asked that Twilight and Diana wait on the hallway while he got dressed. After he got ready, the trio headed to the library. As they got out of the hospital, he looked around and saw the city in broad daylight. He saw ponies walking around some were repairing the damage, which was inflicted onto the buildings. Looking up he saw the winged ponies moving the clouds around this was a strange sight for him, but knowing tat because this was a new world, things will be of course stranger. They reached a building, which supposedly was the Library, but it was literally built in a tree. From inside loud voices were heard like in a room full of politicians. Twilight opened the door the doctor went inside as well. The Lieutenant entered and was hit by a wave of shouts hit his ears. There where several ponies arguing with some human soldiers. Only a few seconds and the Lieutenant snapped.

“Shut up!” He shouted so loud that all stared at him. “I’ve been having the best two days of my life, got shot and exploded and I find you here at each other throats, now everybody, calm the fuck down.” He said now really pissed. “Now that’s better. Firstly I want to hear the presentations from the ponies.” He approached the table.

“I will make those.” Twilight began. “Abel, these are Applejack.”

“Howdy Abel, welcome to our town.” The orange mare smiled.

“Pinkie Pie…”

“After all this I am going to give you the best welcome party for you.” She said and they shacked hoof with hand.

“Fluttershy…”

“Hello, Mister Abel.” She said with a high degree of shyness.

“Rarity…”

“These are all.” Abel asked.

“No actually… has anypony seen Rainbow Dash?” She asked.

“She left early in the morning on a small scout mission she should be back.” Mike said.

“Alright, now that we have made ourselves known. Can you tell me what happened here and by here I refer to your country?” The Lieutenant asked the ponies.

“I can explain to you Abel since I am good at Equestrian history. Because you all are new to this world after all I am going to give you a little history lesson first.” She smiled a little. Therefore, she began telling the humans about all that was Equestria about there two immortal alicorn princesses, the strife between them, the spirit of disharmony, how the three tribes of ponies eventually united, the changelings. She also told some of her and her friend’s adventures like Nightmare Moon, Discord and Queen Chrysalis. After this history class, came the main event what happened after the first encounter with the humans that called themselves the Nod. “They came a year ago, we don’t know from where. There leader went to the Princesses and offered them knowledge and power, knowledge of what they called the Green Crystal. Despite these supposedly peaceful motives, the princesses did not accept the offer. I knew all of this because my mentor Princess Celestia herself told me all this. Before this leader left, he told them that consequences would follow this decision. No more that a week later our capital city of Canterlot was attacked, we stood no chance in a few hours the city was theirs. We tried to evacuate our small village as well, but as we wanted to make our final escape, we were captured and locked in those cages. It has been some time since we walked free again and for that we thank you Lieutenant and your team.” She bowed a little.

“Your welcome, but our interference may have been for a good cause, but I fear we have made things worse.”

“How so Lieutenant?” Applejack asked.

“If the Nod Commander doesn’t get any report from this base. They will send a response team here, first time we got lucky, next time it will not be that easy.”

“Oh buck it; if you and your folks wouldn’t have come we would have been in a worse place than now believe me.” The mare returned the word.

“Yes, darling you saved all our lives the other night we owe you great debt of gratitude.” Rarity said.

“Maybe, we shall see if I made the right choice after all.” He chuckled. A knock on the door interrupted the conversation.

“Come in.” Two human soldiers entered and looked tired as if they had been running a great length.

“Sir.” They stopped and saluted all those in.

“At ease what’s with the hurry?” He asked.

“Sorry sir, we were stationed at the Operation Center when the Eva Unit received a transmission.”

“Alright show it to us.” The men put a disc on the table and a holographic projection began. An image was formed a pony was standing on a throne with two Nod Confessors on each of his sides. ‘Brothers and sisters today is a glorious day to all ponykind. Today we will witness the final act of our former leader Princess Celestia. Our great leader Kane has promised us more than we could ever imagine, rejoice Children of Nod today the blood of the oppressors will finally flow.’  And the video ended. Now Eva madder herself visible in the place of the former video.

“What’s going to happen?” Twilight asked.

“Your Princess will be executed in front of your people.” Abel responded.

“What?” Rarity gasped.

“But how and why?”

“How, I don’t know, maybe poisoning, maybe shot, but I know why. To stop giving your people hope, if she dies all the ponies will fall into the hands of Kane immediately.”

“We need to save her we can’t let her die.”

“No we can’t, but we can’t go blindly, either. Look, me and my men have experience dealing with Nod, but we lack the sheer numbers to face them directly. We are going to save her, but we need some support from all of you. Therefore, I am asking you to trust me on this. If we are going in the field, you listen to me and maybe we should be able to stop any unnecessary bloodshed. The mares looked at each other not knowing what to say, they were taken aback by this proposal, but they knew that there was not much choice in there situation, but they were better with the GDI then the Brotherhood. But all there thinking was interrupted by a heavy knock on the door. A human soldier burst through the door.

“Lieutenant.” He saluted.

“At ease, what is it?”

“Sir we have found an intruder trying to get into the village.”

“What intruder?” Twilight asked.

“Come and see ma’am. Bring him in guys.” Inside came a pony and a dragon, the dragon which light-purple scales and green spikes on his head. The pony was a pegasus with a dark-yellow coat and a black mane and tail. One of his eyes was closed and had a scar running over it. They carried another creature with them it looked like a pony, but had holes in is hooves and had insect like wings and fangs.

“Is this a changeling?” Abel asked the mares.

“Yes that’s how they look like in there normal form.” Twilight explained.

“What is your purpose here?” Abel asked the changeling. “Why have you come here?”

“I have come to search for aid.” He said looking down.

“Horse-apples. You want only to steal love.” Applejack hissed.

“We may have only wanted that, but the circumstances have changed.”

“How so? From what I heard from the Elements of Harmony you changelings only respond to your queen and your hunger for love.” Abel responded like in an interrogation.

“Our great Queen Chrysalis has been captured by the ones who call themselves the Nod. I have come here to ask for aid in helping us recover her.” They all stared at each other, a changeling coming to ask for help from the ponies.

“What are you willing to do to recover your Queen?” Abel asked the changeling.

“I would give my life for our queen if the need arises.” He said.

“What’s your name, considering you have names?”

“I am known as Shifter.”

“Shifter, my name is Abel and I am going to give you a proposal. We are in short supply of men who can wield our weapons and from what I have heard your kind can shape shift, can you turn yourself in a human?”

“Yes we are capable of doing that.”

“Alright we are going to have a mission today; one of the alicorn princesses is going to be executed today in the capital city of Canterlot. We are going to save her so that we may have the support of the ponies. How many of your fellow changelings are?

“We are around fifty, but we always find more.”

“Very well. You two release him.” He said towards the dragon and the pony. “Go back to your men and tell them that if they are going to help us we will save you queen.” The changeling looked upon the human.

“Thank you Abel. We will be honored if we could take the fight to the enemy.”

“You will do that, now go back to your kind and tell them that.” He bowed and left through the door.

“Why did you let him leave?” The pony with the scar asked the Lieutenant.

“The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Believe me when I tell you that if we are going to survive we need more friends than enemies. By the way I didn’t get the names of you two.”

“My name is Raynor I am the best fighter here in Ponyville.”

“Mine is Spike I can burn you to crisp anything.”

“Glad you two are on our side. Now fine boys and girls, back to our mission. Twilight do you have a plan of the city of Canterlot here in this Library?”

“Yes.” She used to her magic to levitate a piece of paper which was folded and put her on the table. Now they started working on there plan to retake the capital city from the enemies.

11:00 Hours

Location Ponyville Equestria

At the train station in Ponyville, it was a rather mixed feeling of hope and fear. Hope because this will be the first incursion against the enemy that has plagued there land, fear because for some this may only be a one-way trip for them. Shifter has brought many changelings, which took the form of humans, each received body armor and weapons from the Nod barracks, it did not took very long for them to catch the strategy and to use human weapons, fast learners these changelings are. But ponies were there also helping with the loading of crates, the unicorn in particular wanted to fight alongside the humans by using there magic, since they have no way to hold a weapon. The six vehicles were also stored on the train to help in this strike. The Lieutenant was now back in his zone trooper suit overseeing the operation. He took a step closer on one of the hexagonal boxes and addressed the crowd there.

“Friends may I have your attention please.” He said all stopped what they were doing and looked at him. “As some of you know, today we will launch our first offensive against the enemies we know as the Brotherhood of Nod. I will be in charge of this mission so I should be thankful if you all can listen to me. We are going into the capital city of Canterlot and stop the execution of your beloved Princess Celestia.” Gasps were heard, as some ponies did not know of this. “So that will be our first objective, to save her. The secondary objective will be to drive the Nod out of the city and save the prisoners kept in some locations around the city. We will be expecting some heavy resistance including chances of enemy reinforcements. Despite we are outnumbered that does not mean we cannot win this if you remember to follow the leads of your team commanders you may just get back home to the ones you love. Am I right?”

“Yes sir!” Was the only response and one that baffled him all there both human and pony, saluted him in unison.

“Alright then everybody suit up and get on the train.” He ordered all of the soldiers got in there respective train cars the doors closed and he radioed Private Michael.

“Mike let’s get this party started.”

“Party, what party? I am the one with the parties.” Pinkie Pie questioned.

“Not that kind of party Pinkie sorry.”

“Oh, ok.” She just smiled.

“Let’s get going.”

“Yes sir.” Mike responded.

The train began moving forward and slowly started to gain speed and slowly built up some speed. At current speed, the estimated time arrival at the city was that of an hour at worse. They went through the tunnels, over bridges, and alongside cliffs as they went up the mountain. Inside the train, all started talking about the mission about the enemy and about what the humans had in weapons and technology. On there journey they have not encountered a single Nod patrol and it was a little strange usually they kept patrol at any hour of the day.

“Lieutenant.”

“What is it Private?”

“You will not believe this if I told you look out your windows.” All in the train looked on there windows. What they saw where strange tall plant-like thingies that released some sort of green liquid, all around them were strange green looking crystals. They saw how some crystals were growing slowly, but surely. Then they saw a strange creature that looked like a wolf, but it was covered in the same green crystals, from before. The ponies did not know what they were they never saw anything like it. However, the humans knew, it was what the GDI fought against since is discovery in 1995. Curious Twilight approached Abel and asked.

“What was that?”

“That Twilight is what may kill all living things on this planet.” The tone in his voice was much darker that usual, like this had happened before. “I will tell everyone after we save your princess.” She did not say anything at him, turning her gaze back at the green filled landscape.

12:00 Hours

Operation: Unicorn Dawn

The train stopped at the entrance of the last tunnel before the city. All got ready taking there equipment and arming there weapons. The Lieutenant got out of the train-car and turned back to the ones in the train.

“Alright you all know the plan. I am going to go first when Eva gives you the signal you go in, got it.”

“Yes, sir.”  He locked his helmet on and moved forward into the tunnel. The tunnel was dark and only a fain light marked the exit. Taking cautious steps, he emerged at the exit there was a stone bridge that connected the city with the rest of the world, the city built literally on the side of the mountain, was making Abel think himself like in a dream, is tall towers and still glittering white walls. Snapping out of his daydream he slowly descended the cliffside on the other side of the waterfall. His suit was more that capable of handling water so he went down into the river. He moved underwater so the enemy will not detect him. After a minute underwater, he found what was looking for: a sewerage exit, he got a hold of is side and got in the large pipe.

“Eva, get the long range scanners on-line.”

“Alright Abel. All scanners are on-line no movement in the tunnels, only surface movement.”

“Thanks Eva, now let’s get going.” He started going under the city through is long tunnel system. He needed to reach the exit, which is supposed to be under the maze right outside the palace. After about an hour of walking underneath the surface, he finally reached the end of the tunnel. “Eva, any enemies around?”

“No the scanners say is all clear. Take the ladder and we should be right at the palace gardens.” He went up the ladder, moved the lid, and went outside in the afternoon sun. He looked around; he was right next to the palace maze and near some sort of statues that stood tall, but one caught his eye. It was a strange creature like someone made an experiment combining different animals. It had a look of horror on is face, as if he was being shot or something.

“Oh, stupid creature, stop starring at me!” An angry voice said. Abel took his weapon and waved around, but there was no one. “What did a bird scare you?”

“No, but I will make sure to shot you, if you don’t show yourself.” He responded.

“Wait a second you can hear me?” The voice asked.

“Of course I can hear you show yourself.”

“I am right here, on your left.” Abel turned the only thing that was there was that ugly looking statue. “Yes creature that is me, trapped in a statue.”

“So if what Twilight told me is true then you are Discord, are you not?”

“Yes I am Discord, Spirit of Chaos.” He said with a form of happiness in his voice.

“Glad to meet you, my name is Abel, but I am sorry I can’t talk to you know I have a job to do.”

“And what might that be?” He asked rather curious. The Zone Trooper wondered should he tell him or not?

“To liberate the ponies of this city.”

“Ha, ha, ha…Oh that was a good laugh. You to save these ponies not even Celestia herself could stop this, I would love to see her face now.” He said with a hard laugh.

“Well I am not sure you will get the chance, she will be executed shortly.” This time there was a long silence, the draconequus was now speechless and felt something, anger and rage was building up, but not against ponies, but against the ones who dared to touch Celestia. His heart began to pound, cracks started forming on the outer layers of the statue, in a few more seconds he was free, the stone form was now gone and there stood only the spirit of chaos hovering a few meters from the ground.

“Tell me where is she?” He said towards the human with an anger full look.

“I don’t know Discord, that’s why I am here. I have a strike team outside the city wall awaiting my signal, after I finish what I came to do; we were going to take the city by storm. By the way, why are you so interested in the fate of the princess I thought you hate each other?” This question took the draconequus by surprise, but simply answered.

“I have some unfinished business with the Celestia that’s all.” He said, but the Lieutenant sensed the lie in his voice, but did not push forward he needed some help.

“Alright then. Look, Discord if you help me I am going to find your princess, do we have a deal?” He showed his hand.

“Deal.” Discord said and he shakes the humans hand with his lion paw.

“Now, I need to find a building here in the city, is called the Operations Center. Do you now where it might be?”

“I think I know.” He said and snapped his fingers a bright light later and they were inside a red glowing chamber with screens.

“Thanks, but how did you know if you were in stone?”

“Some of the soldiers were talking while I was still in statue I heard every word every time they came, so I kind of figured it out myself.”

“Very nice.” He knows talked to his A.I. “Eva now is your turn.” He put the card that contained her into the console and it changed color from red to blue.

“Eva Unit is now on-line and ready Lieutenant; taking control of any unmanned vehicles in the city; detecting prison camps; cutting communication and sending message to the strike team. I am in position Abel, do I have permission.”

“Do it.” With that, all hell broke loose. Several vehicles inside the city began attacking the Nod, on the screens appeared different battles all around the city, Nod infantry trying to cope with the rouge vehicles.

“Eva, can you locate Princess Celestia?”

“Of course. Searching…. Found her, she is in the dungeon under the palace.”

“Discord get her out of there, I am going to help my men in the battle, can I count on you that you won’t do anything stupid?”

“You have my word, despite what you have heard about me I never endangered anypony.”

“Ok then, get her out and take her away from the city until we have secured it. Take this.” He said throwing him a small radio. “Is a communication device put it in your ear I am going to call you when we are ready, ok? And Discord, try not to get stoned this time.” He joked.

“Don’t worry I won’t.” He winked and was gone in a flash.

“Eva, where is the team?”

“They have entered the city and now are scraping the remnants that I left behind. But I am detecting Venoms and Carryall’s en-route towards there location.”

“Ok, try and destroy as many vehicles as you can, the team and I will deal with the aircraft and infantry.”

“Alright, Abel.” And with that she ended her transmission.

“Let’s go and say hi.” He busted through the doors and has they went flying it caught two guards and killed them instantly. The Zone Trooper exited the building and started going in the direction of the main battle. Encountering only small squads of either infantry or cyborgs that were easy to dispatch. Using his jetpacks, he climbed the building and now took note of the surroundings. He saw the aircraft heading towards his team and he went forward. Using his jetpacks to get from one roof to another. Until in line in sight, he unleashed his weapon. Two Venoms fell prey easily to his rail-gun at such a close proximity; they did not stand a chance. He looked down and saw the ponies and humans pinned down by some Nod Attack Bikes and around four squads on infantry. He pointed his weapons and shot the two attack bikes and they went in flames. The Nod soldiers took note of his location and started shooting towards him as well. He jumped off the building and before he hit the ground, he shot the last two bikes. Now only the infantry remained. Taking cover behind some rubble where the other humans and ponies where.

“Took you some time, Abel.” Twilight said as she shot one of the soldiers with a magic blast.

“Sorry got a little stopped by someone on the road.” He said and started shooting as well.

“Interesting, did you find her?”

“Yes I have sent someone after her, don’t worry.”

“Who?” She questioned.

“I will tell you later. Let’s get this job done.” She only nodded and continued there fights. The Nod started to dwindle as many of there soldiers began to fall. But there were still many. Then one of the unicorns a blue one with a silver mane sent two disks flying towards them. The discs detonated and the enemy soldiers where sent flying into the sky and the nearby buildings. The shooting stopped signaling that this small skirmish was over. All came out of there hiding and looked upon the street no enemy remained there.

“Alright everybody regroup.” He said towards the soldiers. He turned to the unicorn that made the final strike and saved a few lives with his attack.

“What’s your name, unicorn?”

“Pokey Pierce, sir.” He was a little scared, probably this was the first time he killed someone.

“Are you afraid, Pierce?”

“Yes sir.”

“Afraid of what?” He leaned down asking the pony. He whispered something to the Lieutenant that only he could hear. Abel turned towards the Pinkie Pie the one he met at the library one of the elements of harmony. “Her?”

“Yes, but please don’t tell her.”

“I won’t, but I suggest you tell her and get that stone from your heart.”

“Maybe another time.” He smiled.

“Ok. Listen up everybody we need to get to the palace that is where out little Nod friend is, so we need to take him out. I will take point and clear the way for you, if you see any Nod shot first, then ask questions. Let’s go troopers!” They all went down the road towards there objective, they did not encounter any more Nod troops on there way, but was too quiet around them like there was no one else in the city only them. “Eva, what’s going on is to quiet, around here?”

“I am not sure; it seems that the Nod is retreating to the palace ground. A number of tank’s and vehicles have stationed there, you will have a hard time getting in.”

“Thanks for the vote of confidence Eva. Try to make a diversion to make them go to one of the entrances.”

“Yes sir.”

“Alright guys we need to stop.”

“Why?” Raynor asked.

“We need to get more information about what we are against. All of you move to that high building.” They followed the Lieutenant in one of the tallest buildings in the immediate area. The Snipers started to take point at the windows. The Rocked Troopers got on the roof to get ready in case some aircraft detected them. Twilight took one of the binoculars and looked down to the palace.

“What do you see Twilight?” Abel asked the unicorn.

“Well there are four Obelisk’s of the Light at the main doors also some of those SAM Sites, there are several troops inside, including cyborgs, outside the building there are two of those Avatar Warmech’s and also several Scorpion Tanks.”

“Alright, how do you know that much about the Nod arsenal?”

“Eva gave me all the information I needed while you were out in the hospital.”

“Ok I can live with that, actually you reminded me of something. Eva what of that diversion you promised us?”

“I was just planning to call you. I have taken control of some Beam Cannon’s, I will pave the road, but you need to walk on it.”

“I’ve got you Eva. Alright you heard the lady let’s pay our little Nod Commander a visit.” They all smiled at the small joke and rushed out of the building heading toward the palace grounds. As they approached they saw that the front gate was breached seems that Eva was really doing her thing. Then an explosion was heard. The rushed in and saw a small crater and several vehicles torn to pieces one of the Avatar’s was trying to move using his three fingered hand. Abel took his rail gun and shot it again, this time stopping it for good.

“Eva really gave them a run for there money here.” Snyder smiled. It did not take long and again they were under a bullet barrage.

“Oh couldn’t they just get a break.” Karen groaned. “Pierce, can you take care of them?”

“I thought you never asked.” He stood and used his magic to throw several disks through the windows at both levels; explosions soon followed and started raining with Militants.

“Alright all move, move!” Abel ordered and started running inside the building they started shooting all the Nod’s as they got out from hiding as well from other rooms. However, nothing stopped the team from there objective they reached the stairs and started climbing.

“I hate stairs, couldn’t they just build an elevator.” Said Snyder.

“To bad your not a pegasus.” The rainbow colored mare mocked.

“Maybe, but you can’t hold a gun with those hooves and that gives me an advantage.” He mocked back.

“Yeah, but I can make a Sonic Rainboom. Can you do that?”

“Both of you quit your bitching or else I will send you back down to the lobby in one shot.” Karen said annoyed by the two. They did not say anything. Twilight looked at Karen and said between her lips.

‘Thank you.’

‘Your welcome.’ She responded.

They got to the throne room and shot the two Nod Confessors who guarded the door. Abel us his metal foot and burst opened the large wooden doors. However, as they were ready the hall was empty no one was there mocking them or anything.

“Where is he? I want to have a little talk to that bastard.” Rainbow Dash said.

“I think were to late Dash. The Nod coward took away before we arrived.” Karen responded. As they looked around, they saw down an aircraft and a white pony that was running inside it.

“Sir, he’s escaping!” A soldier called the Lieutenant and they all saw as the Banshee took off and left them with there anger. Rainbow Dash looked into the sky and saw several clouds moving strangely.

“Hey why are the clouds moving like that?” All looked in the direction and saw how cloud after cloud started to disappear.

“Oh no. Rocket Squads on the roof now!” He shouted they soldiers went to the stirs and started pointing out there missiles.

“Abel what’s happening?” Twilight asked him.

“Those are cloaked Vertigo Bombers they will level this place. We need to get out now." Abel moved with his soldier up the roof and started to take point. There was only one time when the bombers were vulnerable, but that left them only seconds to react. Now the bombers were now visible and ready to deliver there ordinance. They fired two bomber were taken out, but three more remained. Out of the sudden, the clouds turned pink, the aircrafts turbines absorbed this new strange cloud and blew up. The final bomber managed to dodge the clouds, but was hit by a bright yellow ray and was cut in half. Two figures descended from the clouds, one the Lieutenant knew it was Discord. However, the other one was unfamiliar to him. It was larger than a usual pony and had both wings and a horn, it had a sun painted on is flank and a strange rainbow like mane. Despite not metting her, he rather figured it out, who she was.

“Princess Celestia I presume.” He bowed seeing as she was the royalty around here the soldiers did the same.

“Indeed I am, Soldier. And may I say your presence has been more timing than ever.”

“Thank you, but I assume you need some questioned to be answered.”

“Yes, but not here I will make the arrangements, you are our guest now. And you shall be treated as such.”

“Actually I would like my men, been taken care firstly then we will talk in more detail, your highness.”

“Very well then, but to say the least thank you for your efforts today you have saved a lot of lives.”

         Unknown Location

          The Banshee landed in the hangar and the white pony got out of his seat and trotted towards the command room. Once there he called someone by video. An image of a bald man with a mustache appeared.

“Great Kane, I don’t bring good news, we have lost the Capital City.”

“You have disappointed me Blueblood, for this defeat you will be punished.”

“I know my lord, but there is something else you must now. The ones that attacked were several humans and had some GDI arsenal.” This made a glint of interest in the eyes of the human.

“Hmmm interesting. Very well you shall be spared, but if you fail me once again, you will wish I had killed you.”

“Thank you my lord.” He bowed and the video ended.

Chapter 3: Where the Rainbow Ends

20:00 Hours

Location Canterlot, Equestria

Abel was taken to a meeting room inside the palace walls. It was redecorated, full of screens and different assets left behind by the Nod. It was a private meeting and only a few attended Princess Celestia, Discord, Twilight Sparkle and her brother Shinning Armor, who was the Captain of the Princesses Royal Guards and also his wife Princess Cadence which surprisingly was an alicorn like Celestia, but not immortal. Taking there seats around the metal table. And she began.

"Well firstly I have to thank you, Abel for your success today."

"Thank you your highness, we were just at the right spot at the right time."

"I don't really think so; you liberated the entire city in a few short hours." Shinning Armor spoke.

"Yes, but I could not do it without Twilight and the others." The unicorn blushed at this sudden trust and gratitude given by the Lieutenant.

"My fateful student, you have taken a new course in the line of friendship it seems." She smiled. "Despite is a dangerous one."

"Why so, Princess?"

"To fight for your friendship and protect it, but be careful not to go the other side and succumb to your base instincts." The lavender unicorn only nodded. "Now Abel, back to our more pressing concerns, you seem to know the enemy better than anyone care to explain us this so called 'Brotherhood of Nod'?"

"Of course, but as I was saying, there are some things we do not know and maybe never find out. Eva I want some help on this one." He said to the AI.

"Of course Lieutenant." She started showing different images of Kane and the beginning of Nod.

"This is what we know." He began telling his story. The forming of the Global Defense Initiative, the wars that they had with the Brotherhood, the emergence of the strange 'aliens' that were also linked to Tiberium. The fourth war the help they received from Kane and is sudden disappearance after the activation of the strange Tower.

"It seems your world is fun can I go there?" Discord began. All started staring strangely at the draconequus

"Well we don't really know how we got here, so I don't know if we could go back to our world. By the way Princess do you have any idea how we got here?"

"I am not sure young one, but from what you told me you, your men and this Brotherhood of Nod were supposed to be sent through that Tower to another place, but something cut the connection and all of you ended up here in Equestria."

" Princess, what could have caused this?" Twilight asked.

"I am not sure, it could have been anything, but we have more pressing concerns now. Abel you and your men need to help us free Equestria from our enemy, we ask for your help. Do you accept?"

"I don't know Princess; I don't know what help we could provide, we are too few in number to face them directly and don't have any armor or aircraft to support us, because those few vehicles we came in are not enough.

"Please spare me of the odds. Tell exactly what do you need to face our enemy." She looked directly at him with determination on her face.

"Do you have a list?" He asked.

"I have one just here." Twilight entered and levitated a quill and a piece of parchment.

"Ok then. Let us start with the basics. We will need factories to produce everything we deem necessary from the smallest bullet to the biggest tank, from the fastest aircraft to the slowest ship." He began with his voice slightly raised. "Also we need hundreds even thousands of recruits and also a place to train them in handling our weaponry and other military assets."

"Lieutenant, forgive my intrusion, but we don't have schematics or designs for these so called 'military assets'." This time the voice of Cadence was recognized.

"You don't need to ask permission to speak Cadence and to answer your question, we have these plans."

"Where?"

"Right here." Smiling he said pointing at the A.I. "Eva here has all the information we need about any kind of technology we want. So any more questions?"

"I have, why did you say we need training some of my Royal Guard are trained to fight and very hard indeed."

"I don't doubt yours or your men's abilities Shinning Armor, but you are not trained against something like the Nod; they are ruthless and from what Twilight has told me there has never been a war like this before. Already many have died, but we can change that if we work together."

"You made your point Lieutenant and we will be more than happy to help you in this. We will start immediately; we will bring the best we have to start working on this new war effort." Then the A.I. entered the discussion.

"I am sorry to interrupt, but I have found something interesting Abel."

"What did you find?" He asked.

"Well I have been searching through the Nod files since I entered there computer. I have found an interesting regarding the Princess Luna and Queen Chrysalis."

"What are you sure?" Celestia questioned her.

"Positive. I have found different references about the two. I have also found out there location." She disappeared and a map appeared in her place. "They are held up in a place called Cloudsdale."

"Is the floating city built from clouds, but only the pegasus ponies can live there." Twilight answered.

"Eva, are you sure?

"Yes sir and to answer your question Twilight they are in that city, but not in any of the structures." The image zoomed and now a saucer like ship was now shown.

"Is a Leviathan."

"A what?" Cadence asked.

"A Leviathan class Nod capital ship. Eva, are you saying the two are on board."

"Yes, but sir they are going to be shipped out of there to a Research Facility tomorrow morning.

"So if we want to rescue them we need to act now." He turned to the Princess. "With your permission I would like to call the others and discuss this in more detail."

"Permission granted."

"Alright, Eva, tell the others to meet us at that abandoned Air Tower in the city. I think I have an idea how to get there."

"Yes sir." The A.I. complied and called all the main team members including the ponies who fought alongside the humans to take back the city.

20:30 Hours

Location Canterlot, Equestria

At the base of the abandoned Air Tower quite a crowd had assembled, firstly, it was because the main team that saved the city was there and the second one was that Princess Celestia herself was there and the ponies had a long time since they saw there beloved leader, but also there was a sight they wanted not to see and those were the changelings and of course Discord which was well known for what he did a few years back. However, the draconequus did not bother looking at them since he knew that if he could he could make there life hell by one single snap of a finger. The changelings however showed there daggers to the bystanders. Nevertheless, for some reason Shifter came and hit them with his hoof full of holes and having an annoyed face made the changelings stop and took a straight position, like a royal guard. The Princess began addressing those that waited there.

"My fateful ponies. I know that my absence has provoked much turmoil and fear among you, but I can assure that this is not the case. As you have seen we are facing an enemy much more powerful than anything ever encountered, but I am here to say that we are already to undergo a plan to make sure this will not be our last victory. You may have seen the new visitors which look very much like the ones that attacked us." All eyes turned to the humans that were talking among each other. "But these are not from those who are our enemy in fact we have a common enemy and for that I ask you to trust them. Also you may have seen the changeling have returned by this time they aren't here to feed upon us today we are united as ponies to fight what we have come to known as the Brotherhood of Nod. For now that will be all." The crowd started to disperse slowly as many of the ponies returned to there old homes and start rebuilding what was lost.

"Very good speech princess." The unicorn said.

"Thank you very much my fateful student and good luck on your mission." She smiled. "Lieutenant?"

"Yes your highness."

"Please take care of Twilight and her friends they are like my children."

"Don't worry Princess Celestia, I will take good care of them, I will die before I let anything happen to them." She only nodded. "Twilight you can do it now." He turned to the pony and she smiled. Her horn started to glow and a purple aura encased the humans and all non-pegasus ponies. "Alright everybody, listen up the spell that our friend Twilight cast it on us will give us the ability to walk on clouds. The city we are going to is called Cloudsdale and is entirely built from clouds. Now everybody get your gear and asses on the Carryall's now!" They got everything from boxes of ammunition to weapons of any kind. The Lieutenant was larger because of his armor standing tall among the other humans. The rear door closed. "Alright Eva we are ready let's go."

"Of course Abel." The engines of the VTOL started turning also of the other two. The small rotor blades moved at tremendous speeds as the aircraft took to the sky. On the ground, Celestia looked as they disappeared. 'Mother, Father, please look after them and bring them all home safe.'

Operation: Where the Rainbow Ends

Location Cloudsdale, Equestria

The Sun started going down into the hills to make room for the beautiful Moon, Thoughts passed through the mind of Abel, first was how in this damn world could the Princesses bring forth the two astral wonders of the sky and second how was it possible to build a city out of clouds, it sliced the rules of normality like a knife sliced bread. But these thoughts were for another time now full concentration was on the mission at hand. It was one of great importance as it succeeded in establishing a peaceful treaty with the changelings and also securing the ponies' leader will give them more hope and help them in this undertaking.

"Alright boys and girls get ready we are nearing the landing zone." The A.I. communicated to the soldiers. The Carryalls hovered over a pack of cloud near a large building until they descended. The ramps opened and the soldier took aim at anything there was outside, but they saw nothing. Walking from the metal floor to the cloud one was a little strange, standing on clouds was indeed a little out of the ordinary.

"Eva, how do we stand?" Abel asked.

"I am picking some interesting communication transmission from a location in the center of the city, that's where our target is. Be advised Venom VTOL's patrol the 'streets' if you are detected the alarm would be sounded and you can expect retaliation."

"Thank you Eva. Alright boys and girls let's roll." The soldier took there equipment and started leaving the area. They wandered on the cloud streets for some time until Snyder broke the ice.

"Well sir it sure looks like a ghost-town."

"Already afraid Snyder?" Karen asked.

"Just stating the obvious. Lieutenant how much further?"

"We are about two clicks away. However, we need more intel we will stop here for a pause. Twilight, Karen, Spike, Dash and Raynor your with me let's see if we can look at our 'neighbors'." Those who names were heard stood up and went after Abel into the building. They reached the last level Twilight took a pair of some advanced binoculars and looked from a window in the center of the city.

"Well now that's a sight. Abel there is a platform that I presume uses the same technology like the Leviathan and enables aircraft to land. I also see two SG-11 Salamander Gunships, also some Vertigos and Banshees, the Leviathan is actually part of the platform and also there is another ship, but is design is different from the others do you recognize it?" The lavender unicorn gave the binoculars to the Lieutenant.

"Cover me in chocolate and call me tasty, if that's not a Kodiak class battlecruiser I don't know what it is."

"Sir are you sure?"

"Yes, Snyder I am very sure. This kind of changes the situation a little."

"How so?" Spike asked.

"Well if we could capture that ship we will have the biggest advantage ever and also we can escape from here a lot easier. Let's get back to the others." The soldiers were al ready and standing by. "Alright guys we have a new objective and for that we have to change our plans. We will be divided into three groups. Spike and Rarity you are in charge of the first group. You are going to one of the ships and requisition it. Squads Beta and Delta you are with them. Take Eva's card you will need it. He handled them the AI's card. Rainbow Dash and Raynor, take the rest of the pegasus and plant these explosives on the Leviathan's engines.

"Yes sir." Dash responded.

"Twilight, Armor and Shifter and the rest of you come with me. Stay hidden until I give you the signal. Now let's get moving." The three groups separated. The one led by Abel was nearing the platform when they started assessing the situation. "Snyder, take out those guards." He pointed at the guards in the towers that were on different sides of the platform. He stood in the position and took them out with his GLS-70 riffle. The guards fell down, in silence. "Good job, let's go." The team approached the edge and using a metal ladder they climbed on. Four watchtowers that thanks to Snyder will not raise the alarm illuminated the large metal platform.

"Abel how are we going to get on board?" Shifter asked.

"There is an elevator that that they use for troops and supplies, that's our ticket in, but we need to access it in order to do that." No one else was on the platform hopefully they will get this out without to much interference. They reached the panel that controlled the elevator.

"Alright. Now does anybody know how to hack it?" Snyder asked. A white unicorn stepped forward; she had pink glasses and a strange blue and red mane. A red aura encased her horn and the panel. The elevator ramp started going down.

"What's your name?" Abel asked.

"Netrunner, sir." She saluted.

"Ok Netrunner why are you here?"

"Well to tell you honest I came here because of someone who caught my eye."

"I see. Very well you will come with us, but stay out of trouble and don't get into the battle if it is not necessary if the reason you came is because of someone, I don't like to tell him that you are dead."

"I am full aware of what I am getting myself into."

"If that's settled let's go then." The soldiers got onto platform and Netrunner used her magic again to get them up. As they neared the entrance of the ship, arming there weapons. Darkness encased them all as they entered the 'belly of the beast'.

"A light anybody?" A soldier asked. A few of the unicorns started using there horns to light the room. "Thanks."

"Ok Netrunner. Do your magic." She went to one of the consoles and started to use her abilities to hack it.

"Ok I am in. Let's see where our objective is." Searching she found something. "I found Chrysalis she is in a laboratory at this level."

"What about the Princess Luna." Shining Armor asked.

"I can't seem to find her anywhere, but there is something amiss. One of the security cameras seems to be offline."

"Where is that camera located?" Abel asked.

"It's it appears to be from a secondary lab near the hangar."

"Ok. Team listen up our first stop will be the lab where is Chrysalis since is closer after that we will try to find Princess Luna. Move out!" The large door opened and they went forward onto the corridor. The hallway was decorated in grey metal plating, which had red pipes that were going in every direction. Making progress was easy they moved two by two in order to be properly covered. They stopped at another bulkhead door, which seemed to be sealed.

"Give me sec to open it." She began. The door slid open and five Nod soldiers were facing the door.

"Intruders!" It took one second to shoot them all.

"Sound the alarm!" Another soldier said which was further and pressed a button. He fell down as Snyder took him out.

"Great, now the whole ship now's we are here." Snyder groaned.

"Come on we need to get to the lab, now." The team moved faster, but where shortly stopped by a large group of militants that placed barricades on the corridor. Two unlucky fellows a pony and a changeling were shot by there fire, the first blood on this mission. Pierce took the initiative throwing some of the disks at the enemy detonating when they got to there target, but it was not enough. Then Pinkie Pie brought large cannon and then fired a large projectile that made a deafening sound, but it made the trick and the road was now clear, only smoke.

"Pinkie, I told you not to use the cannon." Twilight yelled at the earth pony.

"Oh come on Twilight, it did the trick we have clear road now." She tried to move it again, but Abel stopped her.

"Sorry Pinkie, but we can't use it again we need to leave it here."

"What? I don't want to lose my special Party Cannon."

"I am sorry, but we have to. It was already too hard to get it here, we have to leave it." The pink pony began to cry. "Oh, ok Pinkie I promise I will make you a new one."

"Pinkie promise." She faced him with a big smile.

"I don't know what a Pinkie Promise is, but ok I swear."

"Yayyy." She squealed.

"Now then, let's get this job done." They were moving again and this time they were undisturbed. They got to a door on one side were the letters LAB and the number 02. Again opened by the unicorn. Stepping inside with there weapons raised. Inside where several devices including a number robotic arms and a quarantine chamber and other equipment, but no human was inside. However, in a glass-tube filled with green liquid rested the changeling queen. Wires where connected to her body and had a mask to give her the all-necessary oxygen. "Ok we found her. Now to get her out. Netrunner."

"I am on it." She responded and started working on the computer. After a minute she started. "Draining liquid from the container. Opening containment." The glass began to rise and she was about to fall down. Nevertheless, Shifter intervened and managed to get her on his back, stopping her.

"Is she ok." He asked.

"Yes, just unconscious." Netrunner responded. "Lieutenant the engines of the ship have just been activated.

"What?"

"In a few about two minutes are going to be fully powered." She responded.

"Damn." A voice interrupted them.

"Lieutenant."

"Yes, what is it Spike?"

"We have secured the ship and Eva is already taking control a few minutes until we are fully prepared."

"Alright, Rainbow Dash and the others are ready?"

"Yes they came with some survivors from the city and are in the hangar inspecting some strange aircrafts."

"Good job everybody. Tell Eva to give me the control of those explosives. Be ready to move out."

"Yes sir. Spike over."

"Alright all of you back to the elevator you have transport to get you all out."

"Abel what about the Princess?" Twilight asked.

"I said no one is left behind I am going to find her. Now all of you get back to the Kodiak." He shouted the soldiers started to get out and back in the direction, they came. Including Twilight and her friends. However, he asked someone before they left. "Shinning Armor."

"Yes Lieutenant."

"I want you to do something for me. If I do not come back, you are in charge of this resistance from now on. You are in charge of everything, ok." The unicorn mouth was hung so down it almost hit the floor.

"But…"

"No 'but's Captain. You are the highest ranking officer."

"With all due respect, sir I don't this is the end just yet we still need you and Celestia be blessed you will come back." He smirked and left.

"You are the true leader Captain, is just you don't know it yet." He thought turning to the other side. He started running down the corridor. A large number of Militant's shortly met him. He couldn't fight them all so he used a easier way, he shot the one of the large windows and air started to flow out taking with it almost all the enemy soldiers. He then shot the ones that were still standing and posing a threat. Silence was installed again. A metal door sealed the shot window. He continued on his mission he finally reached the second lab where the camera was not working. He tried to open the door, but failed to open; now there was only one choice. Taking a few steps back arming his Railgun. Shooting one single projectile made the doors bend also leaving a large hole on it. He used his foot and gave the door the largest kick ever sending it flying inside. With is gun firmly in his hand he stepped inside, but something was different, everything was a mess there was metal twisted and different experiments littered on the floor large glass tubes shattered, probes and wires scattered also several Nod officers on the ground some were clearly shot others had blood coming from there ears and noses. 'What could have possibly done all this?' He wondered. The sound of something breaking caught his attention; turning with his weapon, he activated his lights. "And what may you do here?" A dark voice spoke. He waved around seeing a small pluck of dark smoke moving. "Are you trying to kill me? Because if you are then you are going to die." Something shot him in the back and sent him flying a few meters away. He turned aiming his weapon, expecting a human instead he saw a large black pony is mane was like a smoke going up it had strange blue helmet and shoes. However, what caught the eyes of the Lieutenant was that it had both wings and horn. 'Is she…'

"Bow before Nightmare Moon and I may kill you quickly." She hissed.

"Nightmare Moon. Then that means..." He regained his composure and pointed his weapon at the alicorn. "Leave the Princesses body, now."

"Ha, ha, ha. Is that what my good sister has told you that I posses her little sister." She started circling him. "You don't know half of it. I am what Celestia fears the darkness inside her sister. The part of her that want to see the eternal night a reality. I am fear itself and now it is time to see what you have in your mind boy." She turned to smoke and enveloped Abel's armor. The smoke sipped through is breathing filter and purred inside entering through his ears and nose. A slipping pain as if his brain was ripped in two made him lose his balance. "Get out of my head he shouted." He could not get her out. He looked around and saw a large wire that still sparked a little he took it and put it in his metal chest. Electricity flowed into his body, but he resisted. The alicorn screamed in pain and the smoke left the Lieutenants body and taking a physical form once more. Abel looked at the pony it started to change her form it was strange to see this and despite doubts, he knew what to do. Taking her into his arms and went out of there. He reached the hangar there were only a few aircrafts left. He saw an Armageddon Bomber and thought that was the best way to get out. He slowly lowered the princes on the back seat. He placed an explosive charge on the hangars exterior doors and went to aircraft, despite it was a kind of cramped a little, he managed to get in the seat. Closing the canopy, he looked around and familiarized with some of the controls, he had some basic flight training, but does not mean it was easy. He eventually figured it out, starting the engines and making the final checking before he took of, but looking back, he saw a number of soldiers coming to him. "Oh great." They started shooting at the bomber. "Sorry guys can't stay." He detonated the explosive all around the ship with one button. With his hands on the throttle, he shot out of the hangar through a large hole, leaving the burned and dropping ship. "Alright let's see a map." Pressing a few buttons, he looked to his right and saw his location. "Ok I am approximately 400 clicks from where we left, let's put some juice in these engines." Then his radar flared up. "Can't I have a break?" Several Venoms where on his tail including two Salamanders. As the aircrafts closed in, he looked back at the still unconscious Princess. "I hope you are ready Luna because is going to be a bumpy ride." He chuckled. Taking the controls and dived down the Venoms did the same and were closing in fast. Missiles were fired at the bomber. "I hate missiles." He launched some flares and the missiles detonated at some distance behind them. His radar flared up again. "Oh great, now what?" Six small aircraft were approaching from the opposite direction. Then a voice came in the radio. "Lieutenant if you are in that thing I suggest to answer this call."

"This is Lieutenant Abel who am I talking to?"

"This is Spitfire, captain of the Wonderbolt's Team. What is your situation?"

"I have the Princess Luna with me, but my ass is heated by a number of missiles."

"Don't worry we will deal with them." Six Firehawk Fighters were nearing his location. "Dash, Soarin escort that bomber back to the Kodiak, do you read."

"Loud and clear Spitfire." Soarin responded.

"Yes ma'am." Rainbow Dash confirmed. They broke away from the main cell.

"The rest of you follow my lead; let's see what those goons are made of." The four fighters took there prey. The low armored Venoms did not have a chance against Rattlesnake Missiles; they went down like flies the gunships armed there AA defenses and were aimed towards the pegasus pilots. However, they were faster and managed to dodge the missiles with ease.

"Surprise and Rapidfire, take out those command decks." Spitfire shouted in her radio.

"Yes ma'am." The two ponies responded in unison. At full speed, they faced the ships, as they neared them they took altitude and launched their Hellcat Bomb on the bridges sending them ablaze. The ship began to drop in altitude burning as they fell.

"Yehaaa." Shouted Rapidfire in his cockpit.

"Good job everyone; now let's get our package home. Rarity, this is Spitfire we have secured the Lieutenant and the Princess and we request transport."

"Affirmative, Spitfire we are on our way." The huge form of the Kodiak started to rise from the clouds. "You are cleared for landing. Welcome back."

"Thanks Rarity." Rainbow Dash thanked her. The fighters and bomber descended into the hangar. Deploying their landing gear and stopping the engines. Abel opened the canopy and took the unconscious Princess in his hands once again. Stepping out he saw that he had a welcoming committee The rest of his team was waiting and looking at him. He began.

"Well guys thanks for the rescue, but I would like to get the Princess to the infirmary."

"Come on I will show you the way." Applejack came from the crowd and said to him. He followed the earth pony through the corridors to the medical bay. He entered and saw Doctor Georgescu looking at some devices, on one of the bed was Queen Chrysalis and on a chair right next to her stood Shifter not taking his eyes from her.

"Doctor." Abel called. She turned and saw him.

"Lieutenant when did you get back?"

"I think two minutes ago. Doctor where can I put her."

"Here on this bed." She lowered the Princess on the white sheet bed. Taking a flashlight, she put it in the Princesses eyes.

"How is she?"

"She's, ok just unconscious."

"Good that's just…" He did not finish the sentence falling down with a loud thud. The doctor rushed to him.

"Lieutenant, Lieutenant, wake up." Her voice was muffed as Abel fell into the unconscious world.
