Deception
Chapter 1: Prologue
A purple alicorn was sprinting through the woods, looking behind her every so often, fear written on her face. A hissing sound came from behind her. She screamed and ran ever faster. "You can't escape me forever!" The alicorn turned to find a purple somepony leaping onto her. Her coat was the same shade, her mane the same, and the pair of wings were also exactly the same. But despite these similarities, some very showing differences showed as well. The cornea was turquoise, fading to green at the bottom, with green irises and white slit-pupils. The eyelashes were unnaturally long, and a forked tongue flicked out from time to time. Her tail was smoky, as was her mane, and her horn was longer than natural, and black with holes. The alicorn's alter ego smiled, her fanged teeth showing. "Well, if it isn't Twilight Sparkle."
"No! Please! Don't!" The pounding of hooves reached the alicorn's ears. "Eclipse, please! Don't" The alicorn flattened her ears.
" I don't think so. You took everything away from me. Now I'll take your life in return." The alter ego slammed her hooves down, but Twilight was already gone. She was running away, her horn lighted, shoving branches and roots in Eclipse's hooves and muzzle. Eclipse leisurely trotted after Twilight, her horn alight with sick green and black magic, which floated out in tendrils. The roots and branches shriveled up as Eclipse's magic touched them, and wherever she stepped, the grass and flowers died, withering to unappealing husks. Eclipse rounded a bend in the forest, and Twilight was gone. Suddenly, a rustling was heard, and the first alicorn plunged down on top of her alter ego. The latter, shrieking, began flying full force, trying to throw Twilight off. But Twilight gathered her courage and screwed up her eyes, lighting her horn brighter than ever, and touching Eclipse with it. The evil alicorn plunged towards the ground, crashing into every tree and branch. Twilight slowly flew down, following the trail of carnage, and, of course, dead branches and trees.
Twilight alighted on the ground, her face full of pity. The dark, shimmering coat shifted, and the transformed princess of friendship stood up. Eclipse's coat was now a black that was hard, with a sort of armor shimmer to it. Her eyes were the same colors, although purple lightning flickered through her corneas. Her white slits were now black, with a pinprick of light in them.
"Eclipse, it didn't have to be this way."
"Oh, you say that. In reality, you're just like the villains of Equestria. Taking magic like Tirek, planning to overthrow Celestia like Nightmare Moon, taking advantage of other ponies' feelings, like me, using chaos to your own good, like Discord, and of course, planning to use the alicorn amulet like Trixie. And also, you plan to take the elements for yourself. I've heard everything you muttered while you were in the Nightfall Pit. My, what a treacherous mind you have, Twilight Sparkle. Are you sure that you would rather not join with me?" Eclipse's eyes were gleaming with malice, Twilight's dilated in fear. Sweat was dripping off her coat. Eclipse's wings flew out, now dragon-like and riddled with holes, she lit her horn with her trademark green and black magic, and she teleported away.
Twilight breathed more easily, and her eyes flickered with hatred. "You're not the only one who can play this game, Eclipse." And with that, the princess of friendship's eyes turned a dark purple color, black lightning flickering across the corneas, and occasionally into her body sending little twitches into her body. She shook the surge off, her eyes once again lavender, but shot out her wings and flew off towards her friends, her destiny, and soon, her kingdom. But as she flew, a nagging voice whispered in her head,
"Oh Twilight, you can't do this... You can't hide from me FOrEvEr!!" Twilight stopped flying, looking back towards the sickening, horrific mass of twisted trees that was the everfree forest. Another copy of her, black with dark purple eyes, lightning flickering across her corneas... Her eyes widened, but when she blinked, the apparition was gone, leaving her to think that it was all post-traumatic stress...
