The promise couple
Chapter 20: Parkour master and the beginners
Previous Chapter Next ChapterIt was a Nice Saturday morning in December, and for some reason Mother Nature had gotten her fucking seasons wrong. I'm not joking when I say it was 79 degrees outside. Alex had called up the guys, and found out that there were two new people in their group of friends.
"WHY THE FUCK AM I ALWAYS THE LAST ONE TO FIND OUT ABOUT THEM!?!" Alex shouted into the phone.
"Jesus! Calm down! There will be plenty of time to meet them." Clyde said.
"Ok fuck waiting, they're coming with us today." Alex said.
"Where are we even going?" Clyde asked.
"Some place fun. Just make sure you wear shoes with good grip, some fingerless gloves to prevent blisters, and the rest is up to you." Alex said.
"We're going to a parkour coarse, aren't we?" Clyde asked.
"What was your first hint? The shoes with good grip thing, or the fact that I just kicked someone across the face?" Alex asked sarcastically.
"Not dignifying the sarcasm. Anyway, we'll meet you at the school, ok?" Clyde said.
"Alright, see you there. Bye." Alex ended the call and put his Ezio costume back on. "Alejandra I'll be back! I'm going to hang out with the guys for a bit!"
"Alright, just be safe!" She shouted from the other room.
"K! Love you!" He said before walking out the front door. Inside the house, Alejandra was in the bathroom with a a strange looking test in her hand. She sat there taking deep breaths to calm her self down.
"Alright, I'll tell him when he gets back. But for right now, I'll just calm myself down." She said.
Alex walked up to Clyde and soul, who were standing with two people he didn't recognize. He whistled for their attention and they all looked his way. Clyde began massaging the bridge of his nose with two fingers once he saw what he was wearing.
"Alex, why are you wearing your Ezio costume still?" Clyde asked.
"A better question is, why aren't you wearing an Ezio costume?" Alex retorted with a sarcastic smile on his face. Clyde groaned a bit.
"Anyway! Here are our newest members into our group." Clyde said. One of them was wearing a black jacket with orange fur on it, he also had orange hair and peach skin. he extended his hand to Alex.
"I'm Shard." He said.
"Nice to meet you." Alex said. The second one had hair as black as obsidian, and eyes that had a near perfect color match to rubies. He extended a hand to Alex.
"Names Tiberious." He said.
"Awesome. I've meet everyone now. Anyway, we're gonna go to a parkour coarse today. I'm gonna show these noobs how parkour is really done." Alex said.
"Hey!" Soul said.
"Oh I'm sorry, but last time I checked, I'm the only one who can do a hand stand on a small metal pipe suspended in the air." Alex said.
"Yeah, well you don't need to rub it in." Soul said.
"Fine!" Alex groaned. "But I still have to teach you guys how to parkour, remember." Souls pupils shrank, and he gulped. "Well, let's get a move on. Times a wasting." Alex said.
The parkour coarse was a large, out door facility. The ground on the coarse was made of a set of padding to stop as many fall related injuries as possible. The coarse had average height, two story buildings made of brick. The parkour coarse was the towns way of turning abandoned homes into something everyone could use. The buildings had their windows and doors removed to prevent homeless people from living in them during the winter. They didn't really need to worry about the summer because the coarse was heavily used during those months, and the patrons that used it would chase the homeless out.
Alex paid the entrance fees for him and his friends, and they all starred in awe at the place. It was Alex's first time being there because it had opened when he was on the road. His friends looked around in fear of the heights that Alex would make them climb, Alex looked around at all the fun places to climb.
"Well, what do you guys think?!" Alex asked with a huge smile on his face.
"I think we're gonna die here." Soul said.
"Oh please, these buildings aren't tall enough for that. You guys have helmets anyway, and there's a shit ton of padding everywhere. The most you'll get is a couple fractured bones." Alex said.
"Your not helping." Clyde said.
"Come on, Clyde! You play sports, you've gotta have a strong grip! And so long as you have a strong grip, you should be fine." Alex said.
"What if we don't have a strong grip?" Tiberious asked.
"Then pray that you don't break anything when you fall." Alex said.
"Don't you mean IF we fall?" Tiberious said.
"Sure, what ever helps you sleep at night." Alex said. He took off running towards a building with walls made of large stone bricks. There were gaps between the brick work that were large enough to fit your foot or hand in. He began climbing up the wall, and made it to the roof in less then thirty seconds. From there, he began leaping from roof top to roof top, making him feel even more like Ezio. His friends tried to keep up with him from the ground, taking the alleyways and watching as he would leap from building to building. Eventually he ran out of buildings on that side of the padded street he was on, but he saw a potentially path to get across the(former) street. There was a steal cable that extended from the building he was on, to another one across the gap.
Alex took a deep breath, and began walking across the cable. He was slightly crouched as he walked, just so he could keep his balance. He made it to the other side, and continued to explore the veritable playground. He came to the top of an old bell tower, and looked down at his friends. The wind blew diagonally across his face, giving him a whiff of crisp, clean air.
"Hey, you gonna teach us to parkour now or what?!" Soul shouted from the ground.
"Yeah! I'll be down in a second!" Alex said. He put his hood up and took a step off the bell tower, falling feet first toward the ground. Shard and soul shielded their eyes from what they thought would be the death of their friend. But instead Alex landed perfectly fine In a kneeling position, his arms out to his sides and his eyes looking at the ground. He got up from his kneel and looked at his friends with a smile.
"That wasn't funny!" Soul said. Shard was laughing.
"That was awesome!" Shard said.
"Thank you, I got my inspiration from the trailer for Assassin's creed II." Alex said.
"I thought that looked familiar." Clyde said.
"Well I hope you all were taking notes, because your training begins now." Alex said. Everyone but Alex let out a collective groan. Next Chapter: Training the beginners how to parkour Estimated time remaining: 20 Minutes
