Please enjoy the new version of the prologue

A young man stood at the edge of a platform in the middle of a dark void with his eyes closed. He wore a purple trench coat, a grey shirt and jeans and purple boots. His hair was long and grey and he had a short beard growing at the chin. On the other side of the platform a pony sat on a couch reading a magazine. The mare had brown hair, which she wore partially over her ears and having the back in a ponytail. Her coat was beige, eyes were blue and her cutie mark was a grey cloud with a four pointed star and the sun around it.

"Ugh...I'm so booooooored!" Yelled the mare as she placed her face in the magazine. "How come whenever we aren't training we are left with nothing to do?"

"You do realise you don't have to stay in this room right?" Symbol asked still with his eyes closed.

"Yeah, but aside from Roden you are the only other person here, I'd have no one to talk to!" Symbol shook his head.

"Quiet down Abi, Roden gave me an assignment that should cure your endless boredom." The mare's ears stood at attention.

"Come again?"

Symbol opened his purple eyes. "Found one." He turned around and headed for the door.

"Woah woah woah, hold it right there buster! What's the assignment?"

"You'll see." Abi groaned before her body turned dark purple then became a puddle. The dark liquid slid over to Symbol and wrapped around his body, soon disappearing.

'I really hate it when you hide things from me Symbol.' He heard Abi complain from his mind.

"Well suck it up until we get to where I need to go."

He walked down a long hallway of white doors with different markings on them until he came to a halt. Turning his head he looked at a door with the marking of a necklace on it with its medallion being a symbol of the sun. Shaking his head he reached the door he was looking for, it was larger than the rest and bore the symbol of a black four pointed star.

Opening the door he walked into the room to find a larger white platform. He snapped his fingers and a screen appeared in front of him. Swiping his fingers across the screen he stopped and looked at the picture before him. It was the picture of a human girl preparing a costume for a convention.

'Are you going to do what I think you're going to do?'

"Yep." He picked up a small gem that appeared at the bottom of the screen and it slowly transformed, taking the shape of a fruit with small fire patterns. He put the fruit in his coat and began walking down the hall of doors.

Hello, my name is Symbol. I didn't always live in this place, I once lived in one of the multiverse's many Equestrias. There I made many friends and more enemies than I could remember. I traversed into many other worlds and assisted beings that call themselves the Displaced. I am the son of a powerful Displacer that goes by the name of Author, although I never met the man.

My life before Equestria was hard and unforgiving. I grew up in a country without law enforcement and crime reigned the streets freely. Trying to get away from the world arose I found my way out through a portal that led to an unknown world. I was taken in by Princess Celestia but soon left the castle to start my new life. I thought it could be peaceful living there in the small town of Ponyville, but the world had other plans.

A new threat had made itself known, a being known as only the Nightmare. It existed to cause destruction and plague any universe it entered. I was created to stop this monster and its allies, I soon found that I was gifted with dark powers, allowing me to transform into a kind of 'Demon State' which allowed me to fight the Nightmare.

I soon came face to face with an even greater feo, a being known as Xram. I was able to defeat this monster but at the cost of my very existence. The last reminiscent of my spirit floated among the multiverse until it was retrieved by my teacher, Roden Godswell. A powerful Displacer that taught me how to fight and use the inner fire that was in my soul.

That is my past story. However, my new story has just begun.

He reached a door with a picture of the earth with a '4' written on it. Opening the door he took a breath and jumped in.
