Chapter 6: Promises
After the little incident, the impromptu welcome back party was under way, and it seemed like everyone had forgiven you for what you had done when you were in the woods. You couldn't really understand why, but all you could think of is that they are simply the best friends you'll ever have. You noticed about half way in that the rabbit meat had disappeared, but when you asked all you got was a shrug towards Twilight. Did she send it to Spike? you wondered, and then you noticed the little dragon walk in.
"Hey guys, how's it going?"
"Great! We were so sad, and then Rainbow showed up with him and we were all happy. Then he got sad and we all hugged, and now everyone's happy again!" Pinkie yelled while bouncing around Spike
"Oh cool, can I join in?"
"Sure!"
You were surprised Spike would want to party, even though you had pulled such a mean prank on him during the "day" you spent in the library...

"Spike! Get over here, I need you to find me a book on advanced levitation!"
"On it, just give me a second, kinda busy trying to put these books away!"
Knock, knock
"Oh that must be Choco! Spike go get the door!"
"Oh fine"
"Why can't she ever get the..."
Oh this'll get him good!
"Uh, Twilight, there's no one he-"
"BOO!"
"AH!"

Turns out Spike was fairly easy to scare, but you should always make sure he isn't holding anything flammable when you do it. You never actually stayed at Twilight's because of that. According to what Applejack had told you, the books Spike had ended up roasting were extremely rare and old, and that was why you had ended up spending time at Sweet Apple Acres...

"Well, hello there Choco, didn't know you'd be stoppin' by" Applejack said as she saw you shuffling your way up the road.
"Hi Applejack. You know how I was supposed to stay at Twilight's today?"
"Eeyup, why though? Did somethin' happen?"
You then told her about the books you scared Spike into burning, "by accident" you had mentioned quite a few times, and about how Twilight kicked both you and Spike out.
"Well, I know how important the books are to Twilight, but kicking you out when you had nowhere to go? That's just rude" Applejack said while she began trotting back towards the farm house, "Come here, you can stay here while I go an' talk to Twilight!"
You quickly caught up to her, and as you went inside you were greeted by a big red stallion, along with three fillies you had grown to fear.
"This here is Big Macintosh, but you can call him Big Mac for short, and these are the-"
"Cutie Mark Crusaders? Yeah I know who they are" you cut Applejack off, while a slight bit of resentment in your voice.
Suddenly you heard three gasps and heard the sound of three very energetic young fillies running towards you. Before you could jump out of the way you were trapped by their forelegs, each of them embracing a different part of your body.
"Girls! Get off'a him!"
"Sorry, Applejack" the three of them muttered while letting you go.
"Sorry about that, obviously they know you" Applejack says while heading out the door, "Be back in a bit!"
Great, now I have to hang out with the CMC again
Thankfully you were spared the horror by the stallion you now knew as Big Mac. From what you heard from Applebloom he doesn't talk much, but it wasn't hard to see that he wanted you to follow him, so you did. You didn't question him as the two of you went outside and behind the barn, you didn't question him as he motioned for you to get into the cellar, and you definitely didn't question him when he poured you a mug of cider.
"So I hear you're new in town, and that you're already a good friend of my sis's" Big Mac says while pouring himself a mug.
"Yeah, I come from way up north. From what I hear this is the best cider in Equestria" you say before taking a swig, "and they were right! This is amazing!"
Big Mac let out a little chuckle, but then became serious. "So, what do you think of my sister?"
You inadvertently spat out your mouth full of cider, and simply let your mouth hang open, clearly showing how surprised you were to hear him say that.
"Just askin' because I did notice that she treated you with respect," he began, "and I also noticed you checking out her flank!" His voice rose a bit at the last part, obviously what they said about big brothers was right, they don't like seeing people checking out their sisters. "Either way, what do you think of her?" his voice had managed to go back to it's usual tone.
"Well, she's a good friend, and she's smart, strong, honest, and really pretty," you say, being honest, "but I wouldn't try anything, she probably doesn't like Pegasi too much"
You hear Big Mac laugh, which caught you off guard and you ended up almost spilling your cider again. "I like how honest you were about that, most colts just try to play it down, but you went all out," he said after refilling his mug, "And by the way, she has a thing for Pegasi" He winked at that last part, as he probably noticed your little expression of joy.
You and Mac spent the night down there, drinking around 5 barrels of cider each, and you learned that something else is fairly true. Too much cider can make you drunk. From what you could remember, and what Applejack had told you the next day, you and Mac got so drunk you decided to go buck apple trees, uprooting around 5 of them in the process, and then when you finally stumbled back Mac had passed out on the front porch, and you had attempted to seduce her with your drunken courage. Obviously Granny Smith wasn't to happy about how the two of you had acted, so you were kicked off the farm, and Big Mac was given double the amount of work for the day.

As you reminisced about the fun you had with Big Mac, you happened to remember the pain you felt the next morning, and after remembering Applejack's story, you weren't to sure if your head hurt from being drunk, or if it hurt because she had bucked you in the face. After that you headed to Rainbow's, and all you could remember besides the races she was constantly challenging you to, was the fact that over the week you spent with her, your mind had filled with thoughts about how toned she was, and how amazing her mane looked when she got out of the shower.
As the party came to a close you were asked who you would like to stay with for the night. After realizing that you had thought about other mares even though you knew Spitfire loved you, and that you had promised her you would figure out your feelings, you turned down everyone's offer. You decided to fly out and find a cloud to think on, but you did warn Fluttershy that you might stop by her place at some point to talk to her about something.
You had a Pinkie Promise to keep, and you were going to figure out which mare you loved more, Spitfire, Rainbow, or Applejack...
It's going to be a long night...
If you don't get the chapter name, you should carefully read this last part, especially what is said about the Pinkie Promise ;3
