Chapter 2: Staying With Friends

Looks like the news got out, and judging by their looks, you'd end up telling them anyways, so you decide to tell them now.

"I was scouted by Spitfire to join the Wonderbolts after she saw me flying around my home town," you begin as you take a seat, "See said that I was faster than any other Pegasus she'd ever seen come out of a northern town. Apparently because our winter lasts longer for some reason, the Pegasi from up north are never expected to be able to reach a high speed, and usually end up helping the farm ponies for most of their life."

You glanced at the group of mares that you had been partying with, all of them were paying full attention to you. "I turned Spitfire down when she asked me to join, but she just continued to ask until I heard about Ponyville, how this is a place you can go to when you need help or just want a normal life. So I then talked to my parents and was about to leave, but then Spitfire did something that caught me off completely off guard..." you trailed off, thinking of the best way to explain it.

"She had been hounding me for almost a year, every chance she got she would come and see me, and then try to get me into the Wonderbolts" you say, "Apparently, at some point during the year she developed a slight, well, um..."

"What is it dear, you can tell us, we wouldn't dare tell a soul, right girls?" Rarity said, and was met by 5 nods from her friends.

"She had a crush on me"

You could swear you heard 7 jaws hit the floor after you said that, you wanted one of them to say something, but when you hear that a superstar fell for a simple, unknown Pegasus, your brain can't exactly form words.

"You! It was you all this time!" Soarin yelled while charging at you, "You're the one she was spending her time with?!"

"What the? PUT ME DOWN YOU SON OF A BITCH!" you screamed as Soarin trapped you against the ceiling.

"Every time I asked her on a date, she was rejecting me because she wanted you?!" Soarin said, his rage easily detectable in his voice, "I'M GONNA KILL YOU, YOU SON OF A BITCH!"

Thankfully it appears Soarin's rage had snapped the girls out of their stupor, and they quickly came to your rescue. Surprisingly the one that hit Soarin off you was Fluttershy, and then he was quickly held down my Rarity's magic and Applejack's strength. That was all good, but they forgot one thing, you were still on the ceiling, and the hit had caught one of your wings at a weird angle, possibly breaking it. Then gravity decided to kick in...

THUMP

The loud noise caused everyone to look over at you face down on the floor, with your wing bent at an ungodly angle. Before you passed out you heard a small whimper from Fluttershy, as the sight of your wing obviously made her a tiny bit sick.

You woke up in a hospital bed, staring at the cold, unforgiving grey ceiling above you. When you came to you heard Soarin on the other side of the curtain that split the room. Obviously one or more of the girls decided that he should be allowed to spend some time in a hospital bed too. You quietly chuckled at the thought of Fluttershy or Pinkie beating the life out of him, but you quickly dismissed those thoughts, knowing those two wouldn't hurt a fly. You managed to check the time before you passed out again, it was around one in the morning, so you could get a little bit of sleep.

"I think he's having a good dream, maybe we should just leave him be" you hear a pony say.

"No, we came all the way here, we might as well stay until he wakes up, plus you might be able to help him when he does" you hear another pony say.

You decide then was a good moment to open your eyes, and you were greeted by the sight of two mares you had met the day before, or at least the last time you were conscious. Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash were standing at the edge of your bed, and had obviously heard you sit up, as they were both looking at you now. You noticed Fluttershy's face was a bit red, and Rainbow had a sly grin on her face. As you tried to adjust yourself you figured out why they looked like that.

You had a full blown wing-boner. You immediately felt your face turn deep red in embarrassment, which only caused Rainbow to laugh, it even managed to get a small giggle out of Fluttershy.

"Sleep well?" Rainbow asked coyly

"I guess, I wonder what I was dreaming about though, maybe it was one of you guys?" you ask, trying to get an amusing reaction out of them. Sadly you were met by two red faces, one with a lightly yellow undertone, the other slightly blue. Oh crap, now I've done it, you think to yourself, Now they probably think I'm some kind of pervert or something! "I'm joking girls, I'm sure I wouldn't do that after only just meeting you" you say in a futile attempt to diffuse the situation and get yourself out of the hole you were digging.

"No, no, it's fine, although no one's ever said that to me before, joking or not" Fluttershy responded, with a hint of happiness in her voice.

"Yeah, no biggie, I, uh, have stallions say that to me all the time, and they're definitely better looking than you" Rainbow said. She was terribly at lying.

You were still trying to get comfortable, but you made a bad move and ended up putting pressure on your wing, which was bandaged tightly. It ended up being enough to cause you to mutter an obscenity, which was heard by Fluttershy as she had come over to check on your injury.

"Oh! Are you hurt, if you need me to I can go get the doctor!" she quickly said, obviously afraid you had managed to hurt yourself badly.

"No, I'm fine, just hit it weird, nothing to worry about, I promise" you say while holding the hoof she had stuck out to examine your wing.

"Oh, uh, okay, thank goodness, I wouldn't want to you to be hurt again" she said while blushing quite a bit.

She then got you to turn over and then she began to massage your wing gently. It was amazing, she had obviously done it before, probably for Rainbow. Speaking of which, where did she go off too? Before you could come up with any ideas you heard commotion from behind the curtain, apparently she was talking to Soarin, probably warning him to not do anything stupid judging by the tone of her voice.

3 months have passed, and you made a full recovery thanks to Fluttershy's care and the work of the hospital staff. The months went by fast thanks to the visits you were getting from the girls. There wasn't a single day you hadn't spent without at least one of them. At one point the problem of your personal belongings was brought up, and apparently Pinkie decided to take them to Sugar Cube Corner and stored them in an empty room so you didn't have to worry while you got better. You never expected them to be so hospitable to you, especially after having only just met you, but it was by all means welcome.

At some other point the issue of living conditions came up, started by Twilight after she realized you had been staying at a hotel, so Fluttershy had offered to take you in. Sadly though no one noticed her when she said it, the only reason you heard it was because she had just finished giving you a massage when it came up. It ended up being decided that you were going to stay with all of them, except Pinkie, and you would rotate houses every couple of days. The first house you were staying at was Rarity's, as she had apparently always wanted to meet someone from up north, as she wanted to learn some fashion tips for winter.

The very moment you knocked on her door you started to regret being so complacent with their choice of rotation, as she almost immediately bombarded you with questions about fashion.

It was going to be a long couple of days...

Or so you thought, until a small Unicorn with no cutie mark showed up. Apparently she had heard that you were going to the Boutique, and she wanted to talk to you about something. After answering around twenty more questions for Rarity you were pulled out by the little Unicorn, who you learned was called Sweetie Belle, and that marked the beginning of your imprisonment by the "Cutie Mark Crusaders". Looks like the next couple of days were going to be action packed, just from what you heard Sweetie talk about as she brought you over the their clubhouse.

I hope they don't do anything stupid you think to yourself, but little did you know, they only did stupid things...

Today's the day you had been looking forward to for the the last 10 days. You were finally going to be staying with Fluttershy, and after the things you were put through, you couldn't be happier to be spending time with a quiet pony like her. The CMC, as you decided to call them, had been running you all over Ponyville, getting you to help them with their quest for their cutie marks. You had done most of the hard work though, even saving their respective flanks a couple of times. One time you had to jump into a river because Scootalo had fallen in after messing up a jump on her scooter, another time you had to fend off an Ursa Minor because they had wandered into the Everfree forest. You still had cuts and bruises from that one, seeing as you had to make sure the Ursa's attention was on you and you alone, meaning you had to get really close to him at first, which rewarded you with a few smacks here and there from his humongous paws. Thankfully you were agile enough to get away, making you thank the northern timber wolves for being so aggressive.

Before you had time to think of the other times you had helped them you managed to walk right into Fluttershy's door. She was the one who had helped you after the Ursa incident, and she knew why you were able to get away. Those damned northern timber wolves would sneak onto your friend's farms and steal cows and pigs, and it became a little game for you and your friends to fight them, seeing who could take out the most. You jokingly think of them as good times, but in truth it was extremely dangerous. Before you could fully remember the times you spent fighting timer wolves you were greeted by Fluttershy, who had apparently been feeding her animals.

"Oh, I'm sorry, did I make you wait very long?" she asked, in her cute little way.

"No, I just got here, and I was actually thinking about how you helped me after the incident with the Ursa Minor"

"Oh, okay, well, I was about to have lunch, do you want a sandwich?" she asked while inviting you into her house.

"Um, sure, if it isn't too much trouble, I forgot to make breakfast before I left Rainbow's place"

"Okay, just give me a moment and they'll be ready!"

"Those were amazing Fluttershy, how did you learn to cook like that?" you exclaimed while leaning back into her sofa, patting your stomach to show her how full you had become.

"Oh it was nothing, but I was wondering if I could ask you something" she said after putting her plate on top of yours.

"Ask away!" you say while suppressing a burp.

"Can you come with me to Zecora's house, I need to get some medicine from her"

"Okay, where is it?"

"In the Everfree forest, I was hoping you could keep me safe from the monsters that live there"

Looks like you weren't going to be relaxing during your stay with her after all...
