Chapter 1

Chapter 1

Applejack's day had started out like any other day, except Granny Smith and Big Macintosh were at the hospital. Granny Smith had broken a hip while picking some of the apple's near vampire fruit bat terrain. Applejack still thought that they had something to do with it, but wasn't complete sure. Applejack suddenly realized that Fluttershy could probably understand them by know. Especially since they had accidentally mutated her into a human/bat crossbreed. Applejack thought, and not for the first time, that Fluttershy still looked fairly cute as that. Applejack then stopped thinking about her crush on Fluttershy, and picked up the cell phone to call and ask about helping her. After about 4 rings, she picked up.

"Yes?" she asked timidly.

"Hi Fluttershy, it's me, Applejack," said Applejack.

"Oh. Hi Applejack. Is there something wrong?" Fluttershy asked worriedly.

"Granny Smith broke 'er hip near vampire fruit bat terrain, and I was wondering if you could understand them."

"Yes. I have been able to understand them ever since Twilight mutated me into that."

"Yeah, again, I'm mighty sorry fer makin' ye do that."

"It's ok. You were just doing what you thought was right. So, why do you need me to talk to them?"

"Ah need you ter ask them if they broke Granny Smiths hip."

"Ok. Should I come over now?"

"Sure."

A bit later, just as Applejack was finishing her breakfast, there was a   the door. Probably Fluttershy, Applejack thought. She opened the door, and there was Fluttershy, looking as attractive as ever.

"So, um, where are these vampire sugar bats?" she asked.

"I'll take ya there." A bit later, They started entering vampire fruit bat terrain.

"Um, this is vampire fruit bat terrain?" asked Fluttershy.

"Yes. Ye can kinda tell. The trees here are a lot more advanced here."

"That is true. So, where are the vampire fruit bats?" Fluttershy asked.

"Ah'm not sure. We're gonna have ter find 'em," said Applejack. Suddenly, a bush behind them rustled. Fluttershy let out a frightened "meap", and started clinging to Applejack. "Nice," thought Applejack.

"Wa-was that them?" whimpered Fluttershy.

"Most likely. Don't worry sugercube, you can let go now," said Applejack.

"Oh, sorry," said Fluttershy, with a definite blush. Applejack started towards the bush, with Fluttershy still slightly clinging to her arm, still, not that Applejack was complaining or anything. She grabed a tree branch, snapped it of, and started poking the bush. For a couple of seconds, nothing moved. Suddenly, 5 sugar bats flew out of the bush and started swarming Fluttershy, who started screaming. Applejack tried to swat them away, but they seemed unusual focused on what they were doing. After about 10 seconds of trying to get them to back off, she got out the can of pepper spray she always took to vampire fruit bat terrain, just in case.

"Back off from the love of ma life, ya stinkin varmints!" she roared. She then relised what she had just said, and hoped like hell that Fluttershy hadn't heard her. After a bit of spraying the bats, and whacking them out of the air, they finally started to retreat.

"Fluttershy, are you ok?" asked Applejack.

"Yes. What was that you said?" she asked.

"Not important," said Applejack.

"It probably is. Tell me, or I'll use the stare," she said.

"Was that a threat? Also, I thought it didn't work on humans?" Applejack asked.

"Well, lets find out," said Fluttershy, as she started to stare.

"Oh god, that is so creepy," said Applejack.

"What did you say?" asked Fluttershy.

"Do I have ter tell you? And why do you want ter know, anyway?" Applejack asked.

"I don't know. The bats probably did something to me. Now tell me, what did you say?" Fluttershy asked, while somehow managing to stare even harder than she already was.

"Yeah, I'd say that the bats did something to you," replied Applejack.

"What did you say?" asked Fluttershy, with a definite rise in her voice. Applejack was really freaked out about the stare.

"I said stay away from the love of my love of my life," said Applejack slowly.

"Wait, you have a crush on me?" asked Fluttershy, sounding surprised. "For how long?"

"Pretty much ever since we met," replied Applejack. "Please don't hate me."

"Why would I hate you? I just so happen to have a crush on you too," Fluttershy said just before she planted her lips on Applejack's. It lasted for a while, all the while Applejack felt victorious. Then, about as suddenly as it had started, it ended.

"Well, this has been interesting," said Applejack.

"Yes. Yes it has been," said Fluttershy, with a slight blush appearing. "By the way, the vampire fruit bats did kind of break Granny Smiths hip. They say she startled them, and they accidentally made her fall and break her hip."

"Oh, nice you actually got that?" Applejack asked.

"They were rambling on about her sending others or something," said Fluttershy.

"Huh. I always thought they were superstitious. Maybe a bit paranoid too," said Applejack.

"Meh. Do you think that Twilight will know why the vampire fruit bats did that to me?" asked Fluttershy worriedly.

"Probably. But it probably has something to do with just being in their presence. It must bring out the vampire fruit bat in you, at least on some level," said Applejack.

"That's probably true," said Fluttershy. "Do you think the others will mind? What do you think their reactions will be?"

"Don't worry sugercube, it'll be okay," said Applejack, as she brought Fluttershy in for another kiss.
