Ash is a stallion. He rides the desk, working for the intelligence arm of the Royal Guard--which many would consider a very important job--but despite everything he does he feels unfulfilled.

Mirage is a mare. She explores the field, is one of many eyes for REINS, and is exceptional at what she does, but she must live a life of stealth and lies to be who she must be.

Yet, what everyone doesn't know, is that the two ponies--stallion and mare both--are the same.

When the griffins send over representatives of the crown for the first time in centuries, Equestria enters a state of distress. It is evident that something is very deeply wrong, and it is up to our two heroes to find out.
