Equestria had plunged into civil war. The pegasi, unicorns, and earth ponies have turned against each other, and the griffons wish to destroy all equines to make their own hegemony. And there is nothing Princess Celestia or Princess Luna can do about that. Every city, every town, every place was destroyed, bombed, and nuked. Not so many equines are left by now, let alone any creatures. Over the years that followed, Equestria has become nothing more than a bitter, arctic, cold wasteland.

However, the body of an earth pony is found in the catacombs of Ponyville hundreds of years later, preserved in ice. He is revived, and soon learns of Equestria's new fate. A new civilization of technologically evolved ponies has spawned, and they wish to rebuild society and bring harmony back to Equestria.

But without the help of Princess Celestia or Princess Luna, whose magic had both been drained from them, there could be no way that Equestria could ever become the way it was before. Now, this pony who had personally experienced the civil war that happened long ago embarks on a journey, seeking a haven where Equestrian life could blossom once more...
