It’s been two weeks since my very weird day at the castle, Shield was not happy about what I did to him but I did not care. When it came to Aarushi I did never see her again thanks to the incident that she saw me naked, that was too bad I tough she was cute. Then it was Shyla, she apologized to me but the damaged was already done. It looked like I can’t find a woman that accepts me for who I am.

Sombra manged to find me a house so that a plus, it was a normal house not too small or too big. It had living room, kitchen, bedroom a guest room and bathroom so I’m happy. I’ve also got a job well it’s not actually a job, I go around the empire and fixing things. It seems that I have a knack for it, if something is broken I fix it.

I was up on the roof to some of my neighbours two elderly unicorns fixing a hole.

“Tell me again how this happened?” I asked them.

“I sneezed.” The mare answered.

“You sneezed?” She nodded. “How can you create a hole by sneezing?”

“When a unicorn has cold our magic becomes unstable so when I sneezed I lost control of my magic.”

That scared me. “I’ll remember that next time I hear someone sneeze.” I said low enough that they did not heard me. I hit the last nail in the tile then I slide down the roof, as soon I hit the edge I jump of took a somersault landed on the grounded and rolled on the ground. When I got up I the elder couple looked at me as they had seen a ghost.

“What?” I asked them.

“What was that? You jump down from the roof like it was nothing.” The stallion asked me.

“It called parkour?”

“Parkour? What’s that?”

“It just another way to get around nothing more.” I’m not sure if they got it but they did not ask more about it.

“How much do we own you?”

I looked back at the roof. “The damage was not as bad as I thought, let’s say 15 bits.” They gave me the money. “Thank you, now if you excuse me I’m needed of the other side of town. With that I said my good bye to the couple and me and Frost Fang were on our way.

Who is Frost Fang? That’s name of the snow wolf, I thought it was about time I gave him a name. Was I supposed to call snow wolf all the time? Hell no and besides, he likes it I think.

I was trying to find the place that needed my help I even had map, after three weeks I still don’t know my place around here. This place is like fucking maze. Then I pump into someone or did someone pump into me? I don’t know. I heard someone fall down on the ground and I heard a yelp, I looked over the map and there on the ground I saw a pony.

She was rubbing her butt, probably after the fall. I put away my map to help her up, I also got to see what she looked like. She was a pegasus and she had yellow fur and her hair and tail was red, she is young, I’m guessing around 25 years old. She was wearing white t-shirt whit a mark on it and over that she was wearing a blue jacket, she was also wearing a pair of jeans.

“Here let me help you.” I offer her hand put she did not take it, she looked way blushing. That’s new, most ponies are scare of me. “I won’t bite.” Then I realised what I said. That did not come out right so I stared to hit my head. “Stupid, stupid, stupid.” She laughed of that.

Let’s try that again, I offer her a hand again and this time she took so I help her up. I got a better look at her, her hair actually covert one of eyes and she was pretty, alright I admit it she beautiful and sexy.

“Sorry for pumping into you, I was looking at the map and not where I was going.” She did not answer me so I’m guessing she is very shy, we just stood there in silence and it was getting awkward.

“Well this is fun but I have places to be so goodbye.”

I walked past her so I could get back to work, as I walk past her I could swear that I hear ‘I’m sorry’ from her but I was not sure.

It was night when I was finally arrived at home after a long day works, my last ‘costumer’ was an elderly mare that could hardly move. I had paint her fence and that was more difficult than I expected, it took her a one hour to choose a colour and when I was finished it took her thirty minutes to find my money thank god it’s weekend soon, that means two days off.

I was about to check my mailbox but I don’t work the weekend so I just left it. I open the door to my house, Fang went in first. “Next time your opening the door for me.” He just looked at me with his tongue hanging out from his mouth, I just shook my head. “That’s right I don’t even know if you understand me.” I just closed my door and went to the kitchen to get something to eat.

“Still talking to your pet?” And then it’s this guy.

I walk to the living room and laying on my couch was unicorn and his name is Cobalt, he has black fur AND that is same colour of his tail and mane but they are a little lighter.

“You know he does not like to be called a ‘pet’.”

“He knows that I’m only coking.”

Just rolled my eyes of what he said. “Right, remember when you said it the first time?”

He shudder. “Don’t remind me, I still have nightmare after that.”

When Cobalt first moved in with me he unfortunately he called Fang a pet and Fang attack him, I think they have love hate relationship if that is possible.

“I was going to get something to eat, want something?” I asked him.

“No thanks, I already eaten.” He sat up on the on the couch. “I still can’t believe that you eat meat.”

“I told you that when you moved in.”

One week ago.

Me and Fang were walking home after my last job for the day and that was not easy, plumbers I envy you. I was caring my money in a bag in my hand and that was maybe not a good idea because someone snatch them from me.

“What the hell.” I pointed at the. “After him Fang.” Frost Fang ran after him and tried to followed but the thief had a head start and Fang was very fast.

It did not take long before I arrived to an empty warehouse, the building was not that big, Fang was waiting for me outside. I patted him on the head. “Good boy.” I walked inside and he followed me.

Once inside I could hear someone taking. “What the hay? 50 bits? That’s all he had, buck.” I looked around the corner and what I saw shocked me, sitting on chair by a mattress was a unicorn stallion and he was as least 20 years ole maybe more.

I ran as fast I could to catch him of guard I was not about to let him use his magic, I pinned him to the floor, he tried to get up I was stronger than he was. He was about to use his magic.

“Try to use your magic and the snow wolf over there will bite of your horn and I know that a unicorn’s horn is very sensitive.” He looked to his left and could see the fear in his eyes when saw Fang growl at him. “Why did you rob me?”

He looked at me with a look that said ‘are you kidding me.’ “Why did I rob you? Looked around you wolf I homeless I steal to survive.”

“Don’t you have parents?”

He snorted. “I never knew them, I was raised in an orphanage most of my life and when nopony wanted to adopt me I ran away.” Here I was about to give him a speech that stealing was wrong but after hearing his story I felt sorry for him something he noticed. “Don’t looked at me that way because I don’t want your sympathy.”

I let him go and reach for my bag and took out 25 bits. “Here I want you have this.” He pushed them away.

“Keep it, liked I said I don’t want your sympathy and I don’t want your money.”

I just groaned. “I’m trying to help you.”

He pushed me of him. “I don’t want your help, I lived this way for ten years and I’m doing just fine.”

“Fine? Look around you, you are living in an abandoned building, you don’t even have a blanket, you have almost no food, you are living the dream.”

“Why don’t you shut up, you don’t know what I been through.” He shouted at me.

“Oh no? I never knew my parents either, I grew up in an orphanage just like you and I left the orphanage just like you when I nobody wanted adopt me.”

He was shocked that I could tell. “What happened after you left?” He asked.

“Let’s just say I did a lot of bad choice but you can still stop while you have the chance.” I don’t know if I got through to him. “If you don’t want my money what about a home.”

“What do you mean a home?”

“You can come and live with me as roommate.”

“No thanks.”

I sighted, “Fine, do as you want but if you want to live in an abandoned building instead of an house then fine, they are probably going to tear it done anyway and what are you going to then?”

“I figure something out.”

“You know what? Fine, live this way steal, plunder do as you please. Just remember I gave you chance to live in a normal house.” I left him alone.

Well outside I was about to find a cigarette then I remember that Shyla had burn them. “Fuck.” I just looked up at the sky.

“Hey wolf.” I looked over my shoulder and there stood he. “Does the offer still stand?”

“Yes it does. what made you change your mind?”

“Maybe it’s time for me not live in this dump, just one question; why are you helping me?”

“I believe that everyone deserved a second chance.”

“Wow, that was very cheesy.”

“I know.” I stretched out a hand. “Wolf O’Donnell.”

“You are a wolf and your name is Wolf?” He laughed a little then he took my hand. “Cobalt.” And that’s how I met Cobalt.

“Just so you know, I eat meat.” His eyes went wide when I said that.

Present.

“I know but that does mean I have to like it.”

I just rolled my eye and went into the kitchen to get something to eat, after I finished eating and feed Fang walk up to the second floor to take a shower. After the shower I walked into my room which was located right above the bathroom.

When I was inside my room I chance my clothes and sat on my bed, I took out my guitar, this place continues to surprise me because I never thought I’d see a music store. Of course they did not have electric guitars so I bought a normal one, I check if it was ready to play on, when I was satisfied I stared to play.

I don’t know how long I play on it but I was interrupted by someone knocking on my door, I looked out my window and it was dark outside.

“Wolf, you in there?” It was Cobalt.

“Was it is?” I asked him.

“There’s a kid here and he says that he knows you.”

Oh no, don’t tell me. “What does this kid look like?”

“He has red fur and black hair.”

As I feared, I lay the guitar on the bed, got up and walked to the door and open it. On the other side stood Cobalt and he looked confused.

“Is there something I should know about.” He asked me.

“Look, it’s a long story and I tell you an another time. Where is he?”

“He’s sitting in living room playing with Frost Fang.”

“Thanks.” I walked down to the living room and on couch sat Red petting Fang “Red, what are you doing her at this time of night?”

“I ran away from home.”

I sat down beside him. “You ran away? Why?”

“I had fight with my mom.”

Ever since I had left their home Red had missed me and Shyla has not like that, she says that he should not be around me. As much as it hurts she right.

“Why did you have a fight with your mom?” He hesitated. “Red, why did you have fight with your mom?”

He looked down on the floor. “I like having you around and when I asked my mom why you’re not living with us anymore she won’t answer me so I stared to shout and she still would not answer, so I called her a bad mom and ran out. I didn’t know where you lived so I asked ponies and they pointed me here.”

I rubbed my forehead, this was tricky situation. I could tell him the reason but if did that Shyla would probably kill me or I could make something up and lie, decisions, decisions. You know what? I chose the truth.

“I’m not living with you because your mother thinks I’m dangerous.”

“But you’re not dangerous you’re my friend.”

“I’m your friend Red but she is right I I’m dangerous, I done some nasty thing in my past and I’m not proud of it.” I sighted. “Look, you can stay here tonight and in morning I’m taking you back to your mother and I’ll talk to her.” I stood up. “Come on, you can sleep in my bed and I take the couch.”

I led him up the stairs and to my room, I open the door and led him to the bed. “Don’t worry about taking of your clothes.” He did not say anything he just walked to bed and got under the covers. “I promise we fix it in morning.”

“Okay.” That’s all I got.

I walked out from the room and closed the, I leaned against the door and sighted heavily.

“What happened between you and his mother?”

I looked to my left and standing in hallway Cobalt. “His mother does not like that I eat meat.”

“That’s all?” I nodded. “I did not like that you were eating meat at first but now I don’t mind, eating meat is part of you.”

I could not help but smile of what he said. “Thanks but I don’t think Red’s mothers see it that way, look I’m tired so I’m going to the couch.”

“You can take my bed and I could take the couch.”

“Thanks for the offer Cobalt but that’s your bed I’m sleeping on couch tonight.”

“Alright, talk to you tomorrow.”

He walked into room while I walked down to the living room where Fang was sleeping on the floor, I guess I understood that I was sleeping down stairs. I walked over to couch and got comfortable on it, this was not maybe not best couch in the world but at least I could sleep on it. If soon fell asleep.

I woke up the next morning by someone liking my face, I open my eye and saw Fang liking my face. “I’m up Fang.” I pushed him way and sat up on the couch. “Every fucking morning.” Ever since I saved Fang he has licked my face every morning, at first I did not mind but soon it got annoying and I wished I could stop.

I sniff in the air and I could smell pancakes, I got up and walked to the kitchen and there stood Cobalt making pancakes.

“How can a pony that has lived on the street for ten years be so good at making pancakes?”

He shrugged. “When I lived in the orphanage I got very god a cooking, I guess something good came out of living there.”

“Guess so, I’ll go and wake up Red.”

With that said I walk up to the second floor and open the door to my room, the room was nothing special a bad, a desk and wardrobe. Red was sleeping peacefully on the bed I don’t want to wake him up but if I don’t he will miss breakfast, I walked over to bed and nudge him.

“Time to wake up Red.”

He pulled the covers over himself. “I don’t want to.”

“That’s too bad, were having pancakes.”

That got his attention. “Pancakes?” He got up pretty fast and ran down to the kitchen, I could only laugh of what just happened, I walked after him.

When I got to the kitchen I saw Red sitting by the kitchen table already eating, I guess he was hungry. I sat down in chair beside him, Cobalt joined use soon.

“Are we going to meet up with the guys at the donut shop later today?”

Yes, they have donut here, when I first discovered that I almost passed out.

“Of course, why won’t we?”

He shrugged his shoulder. “Just wondering.”

After we had finished breakfast me and Red stared to walk to him house, we walked mostly in silence until Red decided to speak.

“Do you think I can come and visit you again?”

“I don’t know, that’s up to you mother.”

“That’s mean’s no.”

I could hear the sadness in his voice so I stop and bent down so I could look him into his eyes.

“I’ll talk with your mother but you have to promise me something.”

“What?”

“That you treat your mother with the respect she deserves, she only wants what best for you. Promised me that.”

I’m not sure if got it but he smiled so that’s something. “Okay, I promised.” I patted him on the head.

When we arrived at his house I could see Shyla sitting on door step crying, that’s not good. When see aw us she got up and ran us, Red ran to her and they gave each other a hug. I chose not to listen to what they were saying, I respect their privacy.

When they were finish hugging Red walk inside the house while Shyla looked at me. “If you are going to hit me then do it.” She did not hit me she did something I did not expected, she hugged me. Here thought that she was going to blame me for her son disappeared, I guess not.

“I’m sorry for everything.” She told me.

“You got nothing to be sorry for, you just want to protect Red.”

“That maybe be true but I should have said the things I said.” She let go of me. “I was actually wondering if you wanted to go out on date with me.”

And there was the thing I hope she would not ask me, a date. I have to be honest I want to date her when I first saw her but after what has happened.

“Do you really think that is a good idea? After all that is happened I think we should just stay as friends.”

She sighed. “I guess you’re right, I was not thinking clearly. I did not get any sleep last night.”

I took a better look at her and I could actually see the bags under her eyes.

“When was the last time you got a good night sleep?”

She rubbed her neck. “Not since you left.”

This was getting awkward. “Look, I got to meet someone. You got to get some sleep.”

I turned around and walked away, yes I promised Red that I would talk to her but this was getting really awkward so I talk to her later. As I walked home I thought about how weird that conversation was, apparently she likes me and then when I told her I eat meat she hates me but she still likes me. Women, I think I never understand them.

When I arrived back home I saw Cobalt sitting in one of the chair reading a book. “How did it go?” He asked.

I collapsed down into the couch. “It seems she still have feelings for me and she has not good night sleep since I left and she even asked me out on the date.”

“That had to be awkward.”

I lay down on the couch. “You have no idea.”

We waited a couple of hours before we went to the do the donut shop to meet up with the others, Fang want to come to but last time he was there he scared away the customers so he has to star at home. The shop was located near the castle so it was easy to find, how I have not seen it before is a mystery. Well inside we could already see Flash Step sitting by table eating a donut, he was earth pony, he has black fur and his hair and tail is blue and was wearing a hat.

“About you guys showed up.” He told us.

“How the hay do you do that?” Cobalt asked him, Flash just smiled. I remember the first time I meet him.

Ten days ago.

“It was just some lose plank on floor so it was easy to fix.”

I just started my ‘business’ to fix things in the empire and a crystal pony by the name of Flash Step was my fifth customer, he wrote that he had something that needed to get fix. Lucky for me it was just some planks that was loose.

“So they are fixes now?”

Said the pony next to me and let me tell you he is tall he was taller than me that’s for sure, but that was not the strangest about him. It was that he was looking elsewhere and not at me.

“You’re blind, are you not?”

That sounded better in my mind that’s for sure it still does, I thought that he would punch me in the face or throw me out but he did not. I could see it on his face that he was surprised, that’s for sure.

“Sorry, I did not mean to say that.” I told him.

“No that okay, how did you know?” He asked me.

“Actually it was a lucky guess but if want to know you how I guessed, were not looking at me but you know ‘elsewhere’ and that’s what gave it away.”

“You’re the first one to notice that, I’m amazed.” He stretched out a hand. “Flash Step.” I took it.

“Wolf O’Donnell.”

Present.

Ever since that we have been friends, I still don’t understand how he manged to get around being blind and all. He is also a blacksmith, how he can do that is beyond me.

Me and Cobalt sat down on each or chair but when Cobalt sat down we could hear someone fart, the sound came from Cobalt. He reached down and he lay a fart cushion on the table, he looked at Flash and he was not happy.

“Seriously? Grow up Flash.” He threw the cushion on the floor. “Where’s Ace?”

If you are wondering who that is, it’s the guard that escorted me out from the castle when I got arrested when I arrived here and here is the best part, his last name is McCloud. Fucking irony, beside that he is very nice pony, he has white fur and red mane and tail. It did not take long before he arrived, he took the last chair.

“Sorry I’m late, I just ended my shift.”

“Don’t worry, me and Cobalt just arrived.” I answered him.

Then the waitress came to our table. “So boys, the same as usual?” We all nodded. “I’ll be right back.”

“Say Ace, have they found a replacement for Shield yet?”

He shocked his head. “Not yet, so for now we are training by ourselves.”

“What happened to this Shield?” Cobalt asked.

“Wolf fight him and won by kicking him in his private part.”

Cobalt and Flash just looked at me wondering what was wrong with me, just shrugged my shoulder as answered, luckily for me the waitress came with our food before I could answer. Before I could put my teeth in my first doughnut the door open, I could not believe who came into the store. It was the same mare I pump into earlier today.

I watch her go to the counter to order something and I also noticed three earth ponies they were stallions that was watching her, when she had go her order she left the store and the same did the three stallions and let me tell you I did not like the look on their faces.

I hand my bag with doughnut to my roommate. “Take my doughnut back home Cobalt and if I find out that some of them are missing I let Frost Fang have some fun with your private part, got it?”

He nodded his head and let me tell you he was terrified, I did not mean to be that scary but last time he ate them all. I got up from my seat and walked out the door. When I was outside I looked for mare and the three stallions, lucky for me they had not come far. I followed them for a while to the mare house as least that what I think, one thing is certain she lives opposite part of the empire than me. I live east while she lives west in the empire.

I followed them for a while but I kept my distance, they haven’t done anything illegal yet so can’t do anything yet. I could see the mare looking over her shoulder and she noticed the three stallions so she stared to run, not the smartest thing to do since they are earth ponies, why do she not fly? They ran after her and one of them manged to grab her arm so she the bag with doughnut fell on the road.

“What’s the rush beautiful? Me and the boys just want to have some fun with you” Said one of the stallions, I’m just glad I’m close enough to hear them.

“Leave me alone.” She tried to get away but the one holding her would not let go.

“What’s the matter? Can’t handle three at once?”

That got the other two to laugh and my blood to boiled, I walked over to those that was laughing and poked them both on their shoulders. They turned around.

“Did not your mother’s teach you two to be nice to mare’s?” Before they could answer I grabbed both heads and smash them together and they feel down unconscious on the ground.

“What the hay are you doing?”

The last stallion tried to punch me but I grabbed his fist twisted it behind his back and tripped so he fell with face first down on ground, I leaned down so he could hear me.

“There is man things I don’t like and one thing is stallions that are mean to mares.” I pulled him up and made him face the mare. “Now, say that your sorry and that you and your friends will never do this again.”

“I’m sorry, me and mmmmy friends will never bother you or any other anymore.”

Satisfied with what he said I turned him to his friends who lay unconscious on the ground, I let go of his arm and kicked him in the ass. “Take your friends and get lost.” He grabbed them by their legs and he dragged them away. “What an asshole.” I looked at mare and I could see that she was shaking, I bent down.

“You okay?” She nodded. “Did they hurt you.” She shocked her head. “That’s good.”

I stood up and I offer her hand and this time she took it right away.

“My name is Wolf O’Donnell and we have to stop meeting this way.” That made her laugh, she had a nice laugh.

“I’m Amethyst Crystal.”

“Amethyst Crystal, that a beautiful name.” That made her blush with was easy to see, thanks to her yellow fur.

“It’s nothing special.”

“Well I disagree.” I picked up her bag with doughnut. “Here, it looks like your doughnut survived.”

She grabbed it. “Thanks.”

“Do you want me to follow you home? I promise I’m not like those three assholes.”

“Assholes?” She looked confused, I slapped myself mentally.

“Right, wrong word. I meant like those idiots.”

“Sure.”

With that we walked to her house and lucky it was not long, it took use not more and five minutes before we arrived. Her house looked just like my house on the outside, now that I think about it all the houses in the empire look the same on the outside.

“Thank you for helping me but how did you know I was in danger?”

Oh boy. “I followed you and the stallions from the donut shop.”

“So you were staking me like those three?”

“No, look. I could see that they were up to no good so I followed them to make sure that they wouldn’t do anything to you. That’s all, I promise.”

I was hoping that she would believe me, to be honest I would probably have done that in the past but that’s not who I am anymore.

“I believe you.” Thank god, then she did something I did not expected, she kissed me on the cheek. “That’s for helping me.”

She waked to her house and she was actually swinging her hips, she opened the door and before she closed it gave me a wink.

I just stood there wondering what just happened, I touched where she had kissed me. I could not help but smile, maybe things would ok.

I was about to head home then I noticed something, it’s was starting to get dark and I don’t know where I am.

“Crap.”
