01: XANA Awakens pt. 1

Canterlot, a city located near the shore of California. It had become a major location and tourist attraction. Odd though, as nothing really ever happened here.

Well, that was all fine and dandy for Applejack, who was starting her new year at Canterlot High Boarding School. She had asked her Grandmother if she could live in the dorms. One, so she could get the full experience of going to a boarding school, but also so she could get away from her family for a bit. She was given the okay, on one condition though...

That her little sister go too, also to stay in the dorms.

“Alright, here we are,” Applejack said to the younger red head next to her, “Now, Ah don't want ya spyin on me all year, ya hear?”

Apple Bloom sigh rolling her eyes, “Yeah, Applejack, Ah get it. Not like Ah wanted ta be tied to the hip with ya all year anyway.”

“Good,” Applejack said with a slight grumble. The whole point of this was so she could get away from her little sister and Grandmother. Sheesh, she couldn't be independent to save her life.

As she was starting a little after the school year began, she needed to first meet up with the principal of the school. She was a stunning woman with multicolored hair and fair skin. She had a very friendly air about her.

“Hello you two,” the principal said when they walked into her office, “I'm Principal Celestia. It's nice to meet you.”

“Likewise,” Applejack said shaking the older lady's hand.

“You're the new students we were told about?” Celestia asked, “You came at just the right time. We're moving students around in the dorms, so whoever you're with today will be your roommate for the rest of the year.”

“As long as mah roommate's not a stick in the mud like mah older sister here, Ah'll be fine,” Apple Bloom said. Applejack stuck her tongue at her sister in response, getting a laugh out of Celestia. The door opened up behind Applejack, and in walked another woman. This one had dark blue hair and darker skin, and a very stern air about her.

The complete opposite of the Principal.

“Ah, sister,” Celestia said, “Perfect timing. Applejack, Apple Bloom, this is my sister, Vice-Principal Luna.”

Applejack turned to Luna, and felt her heart almost stop. It was like looking death in the face.

“Nice ta... meet ya...” Applejack said slowly. Luna merely raised an eyebrow at Applejack before turning to Celestia.

“Do you wish for me to take her to her room?” Luna asked Celestia.

“Yes, I'll take Apple Bloom here to her room, while you handle Applejack,” Celestia got up from her chair and walked over to Apple Bloom, “Follow me, little one.

“Alright,” Apple Bloom said happily. She stuck her tongue at Applejack before being led off, leaving Applejack alone with probably the scariest woman she had ever see.

“So... how' about them Wonderbolts, eh?” Applejack asked, trying to strike a conversation with the woman before her.

“Let's get something straight here,” Luna said suddenly, “I am not your friend. I'm the vice-principal, thus it's my job too keep kids like you out of trouble. So, follow the rules of the school and we should be fine. Break any of those rules, and I will be a living nightmare. Do we have an understanding?”

“Absolutely,” Applejack said nodding ferociously, “Ah'll be good.”

Luna nodded and walked of. Applejack just assumed that she wanted her to follow.

Luna led Applejack to the dorms, stopping in front of a door that said 2-B.

“You'll be staying in this room,” Luna said handing Applejack the key, “Don't lose this key, as its hard to get a replacement.”

Applejack pocketed the key, “Do Ah have a roommate?”

“Yes. Her name is Twilight,” Luna explained, “She's absolutely brilliant, and one of our best students.”

“Sounds like she's been here for a while,” Applejack reasoned.

“This is her second year in this school, and she so smart that she was skipped a grade,” Luna said with a prideful smile, “As me and her father go way back, I had the luxury of sitting with her when she took the entrance exam.”

“Ooh, what sort of relationship do ya have with her dad, hm?” Applejack asked/taunted. Luna blushed and then coughed.

“I'd... rather not talk about it,” Luna said, “Just know that she's a good student,” Luna leaned in and glared right into Applejack's eyes, “Which means you need to watch yourself around her. I don't want Twilight picking up on any of your bad habits.”

“Ah'll try not ta poison yer star student,” Applejack said raising a hand.

“Good. Glad we have an understanding,” Luna turned and walked off, “Your classes start tomorrow. Curfew is at nine o'clock, which means lights out.”

“Yeah yeah,” Applejack said with a sigh, “Ugh... Ah wanted ta come here ta relax! Sounds like Ah have more stuff ta stress about here than at the farm!”

She shook her head and opened the door. The dorm was nice. Medium sized room, perfect for two girls to share. There were two beds, one at each side of the room, a dresser, closet for storing clothes, and in the middle of the room at the back wall was a desk with a very complicated computer on it.

The left side of the room was an absolute mess, with papers filled with complicated equations everywhere, and open notebooks. Those must have belonged to the single occupant in the room, a girl with long straight purple hair with a single pink highlight. Her attire was cute, but simple, being a light blue blouse, purple skirt, and purple boots.

“Heya,” Applejack said, startling the girl.

“SHOOT!!!” she shouted, “Fluttershy, I have to go NOW! I'll talk to you later tonight, I promise!” she quickly typed on her computer and turned off whatever she was doing before turning to Applejack, “Um... hi...”

“Sorry ta startle ya,” Applejack said, “Mah name's Applejack. Ah'm yer new roommate.”

“Oh...” Twilight looked away nervously, “I'm... Twilight. Twilight Sparkle...”

“Nice ta meet ya Twilight,” Applejack said smiling, “Where ya talkin to a friend on skype 're somethin?”

“Yeah, something... like that...” Twilight said, fidgeting in her seat a bit.

“You didn't have ta stop yer call on mah account. Ah need ta unpack anyway.”

“I... n-no. That's fine, really,” Twilight said turning back to her computer, “I need to get to work on my homework anyway.”

She almost sounded sad about something. Applejack decided not to worry about it too much. She must have not wanted a roommate. Hopefully they could become friends soon.

That night, Applejack had just finished taking a tour of the school and was heading back to her dorm, when she saw Twilight leaving the building. Didn't she know that it was almost curfew, and tomorrow was a school day?

“Canterlot Academy's star student breakin curfew?” Applejack asked with a raised eyebrow. She had a feeling that it wasn't any of her business, but with how highly Luna thought of Twilight, this seemed really off.

She decided to follow her from a distance. She needed to know where Twilight was going.

As Applejack followed Twilight she noticed that she was taking a lot of side route as if trying to not get seen. Every so often she'd stop and look around, forcing Applejack to take cover before she got spotted. Wherever she was going, it was pretty clear to Applejack that Twilight wasn't supposed to be there.

After a few minutes of running, Twilight's destination became clear. It was an abandoned factory off the coast. Applejack had heard that ten years ago there was an accident there, and the place had to be shut down. Why would Twilight be coming here.

Applejack frowned and followed her as she ran inside. She apparently used a nearby rope to swing herself to the bottom floor (pretty impressive for a computer nerd) where the elevator was, and surprisingly turned it on.

“What in tarnation is goin on?” Applejack asked herself. She looked around and saw a trap door next to the elevator. She swung down to the bottom floor and walked over to it, testing to see if it opened. Not only did it open, but Applejack could see a ladder that led downstairs. Was that where Twilight was going?

Her curiosity got in the way of her common sense, so she began climbing down into the lower room. As she climbed, she heard voices, one of them being Twilight's.

The other one sounding... odd. Like it was coming from a computer.

“Fluttershy, are you there?” Twilight asked.

“Yes Twilight,” a soft voice said, sounding digital yet oddly human.

“I'm sorry for leaving so abruptly like that,” Twilight said sadly, “We might have a harder time staying in touch now.”

“Is something wrong?”

“Well, I have a roommate now,” Twilight groaned, “Perfect.”

“That's wonderful, Twilight. Now you'll be able to make even more friends,” the voice said happily.

“But you're my friend, Fluttershy, and I can't talk to you while my roommate is there, otherwise she-” Applejack must have missed her footing, as she slipped and fell off the ladder, falling right on her butt, and once again startling Twilight.

“Ahh... that hurt...” Applejack said getting up.

“W-w-what are you doing here?!” Twilight asked harshly.

“Ah wanted ta ask you that,” Applejack said looking around, “This place is amazin...”

The room she was in was a large green room with an even more complicated computer next to (possibly even hooked up to) what looked like an odd holographic map that spread out in four directions. Twilight was sitting in the lone chair in front of the four screened monitor and keyboard, and had a microphone in her ear.

And she did not look happy.

“No no no no no no!” Twilight fussed, “You have to leave this place, now!”

“And why's that?” Applejack asked, “Ah sort of like it here. 'Sides, this is a free country, ain't it? Ah can be wherever Ah want.”

“I can't risk anyone finding out about this place! This is... my special place! You just can't be here!”

“Twilight, it's okay,” the voice from before said. Twilight turned back around to the screen.

“Fluttershy, no it isn't! She'll tell everyone about this place, and about you! I-”

“I think we can trust her,” the voice said, “Besides, she's your roommate, right? If she knows about me, then you won't have to hide. Excuse me, but could you come to the computer screen, whoever you are?”

Applejack was really caught off guard, and was almost scared to do so. She turned to Twilight, who bit her lip looking dejected and afraid herself, but clearly for a different reason. Applejack slowly walked to the computer screen, where she saw the oddest thing.

She saw a girl.

She looked about their age. She had really long pink hair, light turquoise eyes, and it seemed like she was wearing some sort of green and white dress, but only her face and shoulders could be seen. The odd thing was that she looked like a 3D rendered character. Very detailed though, like what you'd see on a PS3 game like Call of Duty, but with softer features.

“It's a pleasure to meet you, Twilight's roommate,” the computerized girl said softly, “My name is Fluttershy.”

“Holy...” Applejack said, eyes wide, “Twilight... did you make this? If so, that's really good, if not creepy.”

“Don't call Fluttershy creepy!” Twilight snapped.

“Twilight, please calm down,” Fluttershy said, “Remember, you were scared when you found me too, initially.”

This was too scary. This girl was clearly an artificial intelligence of some sort, yet she was completely self aware.

“Um... okay, this is somethin,” Applejack said trying to calm down, “So... what is all of this?”

“I'll tell you, but you have to promise to keep it a secret,” Twilight said seriously, “No one can know. Not even the principal or vice-principal.”

“Ya have mah word,” Applejack said placing a hand over her heart, “Scouts honor. Yer secret is safe with me.”

Twilight turned to Fluttershy, who nodded, “Okay, so it started about a week ago. I was planning on making a new robot, but I needed parts. I came to the factory because I heard that there were old machines here that weren't used anymore, so I planned on getting spare parts.

“Instead, I found this room. It looked separate from the rest of the factory, so I began snooping around. Underneath us I found two more rooms, one being a room with four cylindrical pods I think are called scanners, and the main computer where the on switch is. I was scared, but I had to know what was down there, so I turned it on.

“When I came back to the main computer room, I saw this hologram here. I think it's another world, and from what I gathered of it its called Lyoko. I don't know why it exists yet. However, as I searched it from this computer, I met Fluttershy.”

“Who Ah'm guessin lives in this... Lyoko?” Applejack asked.

“Yes,” Fluttershy said, “I don't remember why I was created, nor do I know why Lyoko exists. All I remember is my name, this world's name, and a few things about how the super computer works.”

“She taught me a few things,” Twilight smiled proudly, “But I was able to figure out a lot on my own. I even connected my personal computer and laptop to Lyoko, so I can talk to Fluttershy anytime I want,” Twilight turned back to the computer and began typing on it, “This world has four sectors: a forest, a desert, a mountain, and a polar region. Fluttershy is currently somewhere in the forest region. Fluttershy, could you step out of the tower for a second? Don't go too far.”

“Sure Twilight,” Fluttershy said. She turned around and walked off, fading into the background. Twilight then pulled up another screen which showed a wire framed map. She saw what looked like a tower like structure, and a green triangle suddenly appeared in front of it and moved away from it a bit before stopping.

“See that?” Twilight said pointing to the arrow, “That's Fluttershy right now.”

“Would you like me to move around a bit?” Fluttershy asked.

“Yes please,” Twilight said, sounding almost excited. Applejack then saw the green arrow turn around and move in a circle around the tower. At a completely random point, the arrow stopped moving, spun around, and then began walking in the completely opposite direction.

No way that could be programmed.

“Mah God...”Applejack said, eyes wide.

“You can return to the tower now Fluttershy,” Twilight said before turning to Applejack, “So, what do you think? Pretty cool, right?”

“Ah'll admit, Ah've never seen anythin like it,” honestly, Applejack was a little afraid, knowing that something like this was under Canterlot all this time. What was even crazier was that Twilight's entire demeanor had changed. She seemed happy, like she was enjoying herself.

“Now that you know, what are you going to do?” Fluttershy asked once she returned onscreen.

“Well, Ah'd like ta know what y'all plan on doin?” Applejack asked.

“I promised Fluttershy that I'd help her learn what her purpose is,” Twilight said, “And I want to know more about this Lyoko myself. I've always wanted to do something like this. Life is so boring these days, but this is something exciting.”

“It's also mighty terrifyin,” Applejack admitted, “Probably dangerous.”

“You promised not to tell,” Twilight said turning to Applejack.

“Oh, an' Ah plan on keepin that promise, don't worry,” Applejack said, “But Ah don't feel right with ya doin this stuff on yer own. So, Ah'll help ya too. Think of me as a body guard or somethin like that.”

“Oh, thank you so much, Applejack,” Fluttershy said, “Twilight is my dearest friend, and I don't want anything to happen to her.”

“Well, Ah'll keep her safe. Ah'll keep you safe too, Fluttershy.”

“It's getting late,” Twilight said, “I'll contact you in the morning before I leave for class, alright?”

“Okay,” Fluttershy said, “I'll see you again soon.”

“Take care Fluttershy,” Applejack said waving to her before the screen went dead. Twilight and Applejack took the elevator up and began walking back to the school.

“So, you were talkin ta Fluttershy when Ah came in?” Applejack asked.

“Yeah,” Twilight looked down, “I'm sorry if I was mean to you earlier. Truth is, Fluttershy is the first friend I ever had, and I don't want to have to say good bye to her.”

“Hold on,” Applejack stopped and turned to Twilight, “You don't have any friends?” Twilight shook her head, “But, you've been goin to this school fer a full year, haven't ya?”

“Well yeah,” Twilight walked off a bit and looked down, “But all I've focused on is my studies. I never had time to make friends. Actually, your the first student that's ever spoken to me. Luna even discouraged me making friends in favor of my studies.”

“Ah, she can shove it,” Applejack said suddenly, catching Twilight off guard.

“W-what?” Twilight asked in shock.

“Havin Fluttershy as a friend makes ya happy, right?” Twilight nodded, “An' ya want ta have friends, right?”

“I... do...” Twilight said looking away, “I've always wanted friends...”

“Then, go get some,” Applejack said simply.

“But... that's not...”

“What? Not what Vice-Principal Luna wants?” Applejack asked placing her hands on the back of her head, “That woman's a cunt anyway, clearly the kind obsessed with grades an' bein perfect. Just cause she don't have any friends doesn't mean ya need ta follow her example. Ya want friends, then go get some,” Applejack walked over to Twilight and put a hand on her shoulder, “Thanks ta Fluttershy, ya made one more.”

“Applejack...” Twilight said slowly.

“Besides, Ah get the feelin this is gonna piss Vice-Principal Luna off, hopefully the first time of many,” Applejack gave Twilight her biggest smile, one that made Twilight herself smile too. That was Applejack's goal from the start, to become this girl's friend.

Maybe going to this school wouldn't be so bad after all.

The next day, everyone was of course dragging their feet going to class. This marked the official end of summer vacation, thus many of the students were lethargic about getting up.

Not everyone though. One student in particular was extremely happy to be walking the halls of Canterlot Boarding School. She was a bubbly student with really puffy pink hair and baby blue eyes, wearing a pink and white dress, blue boots, and a really big smile.

Next to her was her roommate and best friend, an athletic looking girl with really long rainbow colored hair tied in a ponytail. She wore a white and purple skirt, white t-shirt, blue hooded jacket, and black and white sneakers. She didn't look enthusiastic like her friend.

“Ugh... why did school have to come back...” the rainbow haired girl whined.

“Aw, it's not so bad, Rainbow Dash,” the pink haired girl said, “This means we'll be able to see all of our friends again, and even make new ones.”

Rainbow Dash sighed, “The only thing I'm waiting for is the end of school, so I can begin practicing for the track team. Tryouts are this weekend. You'll come to help me, right Pinkie Pie?”

“Of course!” Pinkie Pie said, “Where do you wanna train?”

“Oh, you'll see,” Rainbow Dash said with a cheeky grin. When they walked into the classroom, they saw Twilight sitting at her seat with another girl standing near her. This girl had long blond hair, wearing a western styled dress, matching brown boots, and a stetson hat. It looked like they were friends.

Rainbow Dash smirked and then walked over to them.

“Well, look at this,” Rainbow Dash said walking over to them, “Little Miss Perfect finally found a playmate?”

Twilight looked down like she wanted to say something. Applejack stepped up to Rainbow Dash and glared at her.

“We got a problem?” Applejack asked.

“No, not at all,” Rainbow Dash said, “I was just making note. See, last year she didn't have anyone. Hell, she even ate lunch by herself. I guess you could say I'm proud to see that she has a friend finally,” Rainbow Dash held her hand out, “I'm Rainbow Dash.”

Applejack smirked and took her hand, “The name's Applejack, nice ta meet ya.”

Rainbow Dash went over to Twilight and placed her hand on her head, “I expect to see more of this from you, alright?”

With that, Rainbow Dash walked back to her seat, leaving Applejack confused.

“What was that all about?” Applejack asked Twilight.

“Oh, Rainbow Dash is harmless,” Twilight said, “Last year she pushed me to open up to the other students. Vice-Principal Luna thought she was bullying me, but I...”

“Ya sort of liked the attention?” Applejack inquired taking her seat next to Twilight's.

“It was nice having someone who cared about me,” Twilight said looking sadly, “I had wanted to approach her, but...”

Applejack looked at Twilight and frowned. It must have been hard being Canterlot's star student.

“So, is that her friend?” Pinkie Pie asked Rainbow Dash as she sat down next to her.

“Looks like it,” Dash said, “But... I give it a few hours till Luna puts the kabosh on this. Can't have their “star student” focusing on anything besides her studies.”

“Hmm...” Pinkie Pie looked at Twilight and Applejack. Twilight did look happier, but Pinkie Pie could tell she was forcing it a bit.

After classes ended, Applejack and Twilight planned on going to the factory and check on Fluttershy and look into Lyoko's function. Applejack had her fencing class first though, and Twilight wanted to watch. The two girls were on their way when Luna stepped out behind them and cleared her throat. The two girls stopped and turned to see the older woman standing there.

“Twilight, it's time for your advanced lessons,” Luna said.

“I...” Twilight said, “Applejack's fencing class is...”

“Something I'm sure she can take care of by herself. Come, Twilight,” Luna glared at Applejack, who returned the gesture.

Twilight looked down and began walking toward Luna, but Applejack took her hand stopping her.

“Twilight, she can't-”

“I'll meet you there after I get done. Could you tell Fluttershy that I'll be late?” Twilight asked Applejack, who sighed and nodded.

“Sure. Ah'll tell her,” Applejack said. Twilight lightly pulled her hand from Applejack's and walked off past Luna, who walked right up to Applejack.

“Twilight takes special classes after school, so she doesn't have time to play with you,” Luna said.

“School after school? When does she get a break, huh? Does she have time ta just be a kid?” Applejack asked Luna.

“Twilight is a child prodigy. She doesn't have time for such frivolous activities,” Luna leaned in close to Applejack, “I warned you to watch yourself around her. She's far more important than any other student here, and that includes you.”

With that, Luna walked off after Twilight. Applejack narrowed her eyes at Luna, and then began walking to her fencing class. She felt bad for whoever her first sparring partner was. Applejack planned on imagining she was attacking Luna, so they might not come out of class in one piece.

As the hall cleared, Rainbow Dash shook her head watching the whole thing unfold.

“Well that didn't last long,” she said to herself, “Oh well. I gotta go meet Pinkie Pie to practice!” she continued, running out of the school to find her friend. She'd worry about Twilight after she made it onto the track team.

Rainbow Dash took Pinkie Pie to the old abandoned factory to train. It was really big, and very open, so she could run around to her heart's content and not have to watch where she was going. With all the conveyor belts and old machines, it was the perfect place for her to practice her parkour too.

“Alright, here I go!” Rainbow Dash said sprinting forward. Pinkie Pie started her stop watch and stayed by the starting line, which was set right in front of the broken elevator.

As Dash charged through the factory, she saw a conveyor belt in front of her. She jumped over it perfectly, and then grabbed a nearby machine using it to swing forward, as to not lose her speed.

Dash kicked off a wall and jumped onto a ledge going higher up, as she saw that it was a short cut back to the front area where Pinkie Pie was waiting for her. She ran on the ledge, until she saw the rope near the entrance. She jumped on the rope, swung onto the ground, and rolled to her feet.

“Time!” Rainbow Dash called out. Pinkie Pie immediately stopped the clock and looked at it.

“Two minutes and fourteen seconds,” Pinkie Pie said, “Wow Dashie! That was great! This place is huge, so to be able to run that fast is amazing!”

“Eh, it's all about knowing where the short cuts are,” Dash said, “Though I avoided most of them so I could work on my speed for the most part. I'm not going to let Trixie beat me this year.”

Pinkie Pie nodded and walked off a bit looking around, “Are you sure it's okay for us to be here though? This place was abandoned because of an accident, right?”

“Yeah, but it won't be a problem,” Rainbow Dash said, “I come here all the time, and no one ever catches me. Besides, all the more restricted areas are probably closed off anyway.”

“Are you sure?” Pinkie Pie asked looking a little excited, “Places like this always have secrets!”

“That's just TV shows,” Rainbow Dash said turning her back to Pinkie Pie and shrugging her shoulders, “Trust me, I know this place like the back of my hand. Besides being a kick ass place to run, there's nothing-”

“Found it,” Pinkie Pie said suddenly.

“Huh?!” Rainbow Dash hadn't even realized that she had left. When she found her pink haired friend, she was kneeling next to an opened trap door next to the elevator.

“Told you there were secrets in these places,” Pinkie Pie said.

“Pinkie... how did you...” Rainbow Dash asked, trying her hardest to process what just happened.

“It wasn't locked at all. It was just closed,” Pinkie Pie said with a sweet yet slightly oblivious smile. Rainbow Dash shook her head and sighed.

“Well, now that you opened it, we might as well see what's down there, right?” she asked.

“Right! Onward to adventure! Our destiny awaits!” Pinkie Pie proclaimed animatedly. Dash shook her head walking to the trap door.

“Pinkie Pie, you are so random,” said laughing, climbing down the ladder into the room below, Pinkie Pie right behind her. When Dash reached the bottom, she jumped off the ladder and looked around the odd room (poor Pinkie Pie slipped off and fell onto her butt though).

“Holy...” Rainbow Dash said walking around the room, “Pinkie Pie, I'll never doubt you again.”

Pinkie Pie walked into the center of the room, which had some sort of hologram projected, “Dashie... look at this.”

“What the hell?” Dash said walking over to the hologram, “This looks like another world...”

“Hello? Twilight?” a sweet voice called out, sounding digital. Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash looked around frantically, stopping on the computer screen, where they saw a detailed CGI of a girl looking right at them.

“Was that you just now?” Rainbow Dash asked.

“Oh dear! You're not Twilight!” Fluttershy said, shying away from the two girls.

“Hold on!” Dash called out, stopping her before she ran off, “We won't hurt you.”

“I don't think we even could hurt you,” Pinkie Pie said, “Since you're protected by a big screen.”

“Are you two... friends of Twilight's?” Fluttershy asked them. Rainbow Dash looked to the side a bit before smirking.

“Yeah, something like that,” Dash said, fully aware of the shocked look on Pinkie Pie's face, “I'm Rainbow Dash, or Dash for short. This is my friend Pinkie Pie.”

“Hiya Miss Computer Lady,” Pinkie Pie said waving.

“It's a pleasure to meet all of you. My name is Fluttershy,” Fluttershy said bowing to them, “I'm so happy to meet more of Twilight's human friends.”

“You keep mentioning Twilight,” Dash said with a raised eyebrow, “Do you know her?”

“Yes I do,” Fluttershy said nodding, “She's my very special friend.”

“You don't say,” Rainbow Dash said smirking to herself, “Is she supposed to be coming by today?”

“That's right. She and her other friend are coming by to help me with a few things,” Fluttershy explained.

“Well, hope you don't mind if we wait for her here, then,” Dash said sitting in the chair.

“Not at all. I'd love the company. It gets so lonely here without Twilight,” Fluttershy began clapping her hands happily, “I'm making so many wonderful friends.”

“Dashie...” Pinkie Pie said in a warning tone.

“Relax,” Rainbow Dash said, “We're not hurting anyone. All we're doing is keeping Fluttershy here company until Twilight gets here,” she leaned closer to Pinkie Pie, “Besides, aren't you curious as to what the hell all of this has to do with Twilight? This is our chance to figure out Little Miss Perfect.”

“Well, I guess...” Pinkie Pie said, clearly not convinced. Still, she shrugged and turned the screen around so she could talk to Fluttershy. While the two of them spoke, Rainbow Dash leaned in the chair taking all of this in. Did Twilight make this A.I.? If so, why? And if not, then who did, and why was Twilight “friends” with it?

“Just who are you, Twilight Sparkle?” Rainbow Dash asked herself.

Her first fencing class wasn't too difficult. Most of the students were amateurs, so they couldn't give Applejack the challenge she was hoping to get. It was a shame that Twilight couldn't make it, though.

There was one other student in the class though, who really stood out. She hadn't seen the student's face even once as they never took off her fencing gear, but whoever they were they were just as good as her.

They also kept staring at Applejack all through class.

As class ended, Applejack took off her helmet and was about to take off her gear, but she was aware of that student staring at her again. It was beginning to creep her out a bit, so she turned to the student and put her hands on her hips.

“Alright, Ah had it,” Applejack said, “Wanna tell me why yer staring at me all hard?”

The student didn't speak. They just walked over to Applejack and lightly hit her rapier with their own, and then pointed theirs at Applejack. Was she just challenged?

“Ah see, want a real fight too, huh?” Applejack put her helmet back on and got in a fencing stance, “Ah've got some time till I need ta meet a friend. En guard!”

Applejack and the mysterious student quickly began clashing rapiers. Matches in fencing were 2 out of 3, which Applejack assumed was what this person wanted. Whoever they were, they were ferocious. Not once did they let up, and Applejack found herself actually needed to put some effort into this.

The student broke through Applejack's defense, and got the first point, shocking Applejack.

“You were holding back,” the student finally spoke, their voice being very cultured with a small hint of an accent. It sounded Russian. Also, was this student female?

“Just sizin up mah opponent,” Applejack said, smirking from inside her helmet as the student balled her fist, clearly offended.

“Don't hold back,” the student said, her accent now identifiable. Definitely Russian.

Round two began, this time Applejack giving her opponent everything she had. She was good, but Applejack was easily able to overpower her and get the next point. The student was shocked, but then growled and balled up her fist again. Something told Applejack that she was in trouble now.

Next came round three, which wasn't just mere fencing. Now the two girls were actually slashing with their rapiers, doing more advanced tactics. Applejack felt something odd from this student. She felt intense emotion from each slash. Was this student angry at her? Did she hate her?

It felt like she was trying to kill Applejack...

Applejack returned the gesture by fighting more ferociously herself. The two of them were now completely even, neither one giving the other an opening. Just as the fight was about to hit its climax though...

“That's enough!” the teacher called out, making the two girls stop, “Rarity, stop picking on the new student.”

The student, identified as Rarity, turned to the teacher and took off her helmet. She was not what Applejack was expecting. She was gorgeous! She had extremely long and full purple hair, blue eyes, and she was wearing indigo eyeshadow and red lipstick.

“I apologize, teacher,” Rarity said, “I was just...”

“I know what you were doing, but it's not your place to test the new students. Now run along home,” he said walking out of the room as Applejack removed her helmet. Rarity bowed to the teacher, and then turned to face Applejack again, this time boring deep into her eyes with a serious glare, like she was about to hit Applejack.

“Um... yer name's Rarity...?” Applejack asked backing away from the intense student a bit, “That's a real... pretty name... Mah name's-”

Piz`da!” Rarity spat before turning around and storming off. Applejack was at a loss for words. She had no idea what Rarity had just said, but something told her that it wasn't pleasant.

“Um... should Ah be offended?” Applejack asked herself, wondering what that girl's deal was. She clearly hated her for some reason, but as far as she knew they had never met before in their entire lives. What did Applejack do to piss her off so much?

Twilight had never been so happy for her classes to end before in her life. Now that she was done, she could begin heading to the factory so she could see Fluttershy. Hopefully Applejack was already there or they'd meet up on the way.

She didn't tell Luna, but she had begun seeing Applejack as a true friend. She was happy to have confided in her about Lyoko and Fluttershy. She didn't honestly think that Applejack could do much to help her, but it felt nice nonetheless to have company.

Speaking of Applejack, she was walking ahead, already on her way to the factory. Twilight smiled and ran up to her.

“Applejack!” Twilight called out. Applejack turned to Twilight and greeted her with a smile.

“Hey Twilight,” Applejack said somberly.

“Is something wrong?” Twilight asked.

“Ahh, somethin weird happened in mah fencin class. This Russian girl attacked me for no reason. Ah tried ta be nice ta her, but she called me... somethin... and then stormed off.”

“Russian girl... did she have really long purple hair?” Applejack nodded, “You mean Rarity. Don't think too hard on it. She's like that with everyone. Last year, all the guys tried to ask her out, but she turned all of them down, harshly too.”

“Ah guess the term “from Russia with love” is pretty lost on her?” Applejack asked.

“Like I said though, don't feel too bad. As long as you keep your distance from her you should be okay,” Twilight said. She had wanted to reach out to her too, but alongside her studies getting in the way, Rarity terrified her. She was two whole years older than her, and often times could be heard talking to herself in Russian, and it sounded like she was swearing.

Maybe she hated Americans or something.

When the two girls got to the factory, they saw something horrible. The trap door next to the elevator was wide open. Twilight was sure she had closed it last night.

“Oh no! Someone's down there!” Twilight cried out. She ran over to the elevator, praying that Fluttershy was okay. If anyone found out about the super computer, they'd probably tell everyone. Then she'd have to say goodbye to her friend.

Applejack and Twilight immediately got into the elevator, and took it down to the computer lab. When the door opened up, they got the shock of a lifetime.

Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie were sitting there, looking at them in surprise. Everyone was silent for the longest time, but it was Rainbow Dash who spoke up first.

“Aw man! You mean the elevator worked the whole time?!”

“Wow! We didn't know you came here too!” Pinkie Pie said after Twilight and Applejack explained what they were doing there. Twilight had now taken her seat in front of the computer.

“So... did you make all of this?” Rainbow Dash asked.

“No, I didn't,” Twilight stated, “I found it last week. I'm trying to help Fluttershy learn why she was made.”

“Right, she told us that she has amnesia,” Pinkie Pie said.

“I'm sorry, Twilight,” Fluttershy said looking down in shame, “I was just so excited to have more visitors, and you hadn't come by yet, so...”

Twilight sighed, “It's okay, Fluttershy. I'm not mad at you at all. Besides, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie aren't going to tell anyone, right?”

“You crazy? This is too awesome to tell the public!” Rainbow Dash said, “It's cooler to have a secret.”

“Trust her,” Pinkie Pie said smiling, “Dashie never goes back on a promise. We'll keep your secret, Twilight.”

Twilight smiled appreciatively, and then began focusing on the computer. Dash walked back to the elevator, and noticed that the light above it indicated there were two more floors underneath them.

“Hey Twilight, what's down below us?” she asked.

“Well, there's the main power switch,” Twilight said, “And right above that is the Scanner Room.”

“Scanner Room?” Pinkie Pie asked.

Twilight immediately took them downstairs where they saw a different room. This one had silver walls and four cylindrical pods standing in a square with their opened doors facing the center.

“Now this looks awesome!” Pinkie Pie said walking around the room with Dash, Applejack staying really close to Twilight.

“These are the scanners, Ah'm guessin?” Applejack asked Twilight.

“Uh huh,” Twilight said, “According to Fluttershy and what I've gathered from the computer, they're used to transfer people out here into Lyoko.”

That caught everyone's attention.

“You mean that virtual world that Fluttershy lives in?” Rainbow Dash asked. Twilight nodded vigorously.

“The scanners read your biological information and then break down your molecular structure, changing them into digital matter. They then recreate your data piece by piece creating a virtual copy of you in Lyoko that you control as if it were your own body.”

Everyone was silent. You could practically hear the crickets chirping.

“Could you translate that into English please?” Dash asked.

Twilight walked over to a scanner, “You go in here, I push a few buttons, big bright flashy stuff, and bam, you're in Lyoko.”

“Awesome!” Dash exclaimed.

“Have you used them yet?” Pinkie Pie asked.

“Not yet,” Twilight said, “I usually come here alone, so I haven't had anyone who'd be willing to try it. I'd go in myself, but I'm the only one who knows how to use the computer besides Fluttershy.”

Rainbow Dash looked into a scanner, and smirked confidently.

“You know what we have to do, right?” she asked. Twilight caught on immediately, and shook her head.

“Oh no! No no no no no no!” Twilight said frantically.

“Why not? It'll be fun!” Dash urged.

“I only know what these things are supposed to do! These things haven't been tested yet!” Twilight argued.

“How do you know?” Rainbow Dash challenge, “The guy who made them must have tested them at some point.”

“Funny how that guy ain't here right now,” Applejack added, “Sorry, but Ah side with Twilight on this.”

“You wanna know what the computer, Lyoko, and Fluttershy are for, right?” Dash asked.

“Well, yes...” Twilight said.

“How much of that can you figure out from outside? We're looking at the door right here. Maybe we can learn more about the world by diving into the world.”

Twilight hated to admit it, but Rainbow Dash had a point. They could learn more about Lyoko by going into Lyoko. They weren't going to get any answers by just looking outside of it.

“Only if we send in more than one,” Twilight said. Rainbow Dash pumped her fist.

“YES!”

“Twilight, are ya sure about this?” Applejack asked, “This sounds pretty sketchy.”

“I do know how to use the scanners,” Twilight said, “And I'll be here watching from the computer. Worst case scenario I can always pull her out of Lyoko.”

“Well, alright then,” Applejack said, “So, it's pretty clear that Dash here's goin in. Who else?”

“Ooh! Me!” Pinkie Pie said raising her hand, “Me me me me me me me!”

“Sounds... good Ah guess,” Applejack said, “Ah'll stay out here with Twilight.”

“What, afraid to into the great unknown?” Rainbow Dash taunted.

“More so Ah don't want Twilight out here alone. If anythin bad happens, she can send me in too ta get ya.”

“I'll head upstairs to get it ready. Both of you, pick a scanner and get ready,” Twilight said heading back to the elevator. When she and Applejack got back to the computer room, Twilight sat down and put in her ear microphone, “Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie are coming into Lyoko. We want to test out the scanners.”

“Oooh, are you sure that's a good idea?” Fluttershy asked looking concerned.

“Even Fluttershy's worried,” Applejack said, “Ah'm feelin so confident right now.”

“It'll be fine, I think,” Twilight said, “Fluttershy, could you meet up with them? I'd feel better knowing that you were with them.”

“Yes Twilight. I'll head out to meet them,” Fluttershy said, her image vanishing on screen.

“Now that that's taken care of,” Twilight said in relief, “I'm sending the two of you to the Forest Sector to start with.”

“Transfer Rainbow Dash!” Twilight said as Rainbow Dash stepped into her scanner smirking arrogantly, it closing behind her.

“Transfer Pinkie Pie!” Twilight continued as Pinkie Pie stepped into her scanner smiling brightly, hers closing behind her.

From Twilight's screen a CGI rendering of Rainbow Dash dressed as a ninja appeared on her screen spinning around as if being rendered, “Scanner Rainbow Dash!”

In Rainbow Dash's scanner, she had closed her eyes and seemed to be suspended in mid air spinning around.

Back on Twilight's screen, a CGI rendering of Pinkie Pie dressed like a cat girl was shown also spinning around being rendered, “Scanner Pinkie Pie!”

In Pinkie Pie's scanner, she much like Rainbow Dash was suspended in the air spinning.

“Virtualization!” Twilight said pushing the enter key on her keyboard. There was a white flash in both scanners, and Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie both vanished from the real world.

They both felt a sensation like they were flying through a tunnel. It only lasted for a few seconds, and ended with another white flash.

In a lush forest, two figures took form mid air as if they were being created and rendered into the environment. One of them was Rainbow Dash, who was now dressed in a tight blue ninja's gi with fishnets on both of her arms and legs, and black boots. Hooked on her back were two kunais.

Next to her was Pinkie Pie, who seemed to completely change species. She was now dressed in a red sleeveless leotard (almost like a playboy bunny), red high heeled boots, and oddly had two cute pink cat ears on the top of her head and a large bushy pink cat's tail. Her hands had become more like cat's paws, and she even had a cute red collar around her neck with a golden emblem in the middle.

The two girls landed on the ground, Pinkie Pie perfectly on her feet, but Rainbow Dash landing right on her butt.

“Ow...” Dash groaned, “What the hell was that.”

Pinkie Pie started giggling, “Gee Dashie, I thought ninjas were supposed to be graceful.”

“What are you talking about Pinkie Pie,” Rainbow Dash said getting up, “I'm not a-” she looked around at herself and looked shocked, “Holy crap, I'm a ninja! A real live ninja!” Dash turned to Pinkie Pie and raised an eyebrow, “Um, Pinkie Pie? Why the hell are you a cat?”

“It's called a neko, Dashie,” Pinkie Pie said as if it were nothing, “One of the sexiest, and most graceful beings in the world of anime,” she posed for Rainbow Dash, “Go on, Dashie. Gaze at my nearly exposed body.”

“Uhh... no thanks Pinkie,” Rainbow Dash said waving it off, “I'm pretty sure I'm straight, and I don't want to risk putting that into question.”

“Girls, can you hear me?” Twilight's voice asked, her voice everywhere and nowhere.

“Yeah, we can hear you,” Rainbow Dash said, “This is amazing. It looks like one of those RPGs. Oh, for some reason, I turned into a ninja here, and Pinkie Pie's a cat girl.”

“Hm... It looks like the scanners read your subconscious thoughts and created forms for you in Lyoko based on those thoughts,” Twilight explained.

“Well, that explains a lot,” Dash said turning to Pinkie Pie, who was now lying on the floor elegantly licking her paw and rubbing her ears just like a cat.

“I'm having Fluttershy meet up with you. Could you two start heading north? It's straight ahead. You'll run into Fluttershy on the way.”

“Yeah, you got it, Twilight,” Rainbow Dash said, her voice now coming from the computer, “Come on Pinkie Pie.”

From where they were, two yellow arrows started moving forward, toward a green arrow that was further away but also walking toward them.

“Ah wonder why they're yellow but Fluttershy's green,” Applejack asked.

“It might have to do with them being human,” Twilight said, “Remember, Fluttershy was created on Lyoko, so she's a part of it. Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie are just visitors.”

“This is crazy,” Applejack said, “They're actually there right now, huh?”

“Yep. Those scanners are completely empty right now,” Twilight stated. As Applejack tried to process what she was hearing, Twilight took note of something odd on the screen approaching them. On another passage, three red arrows were approaching them, “Huh, I wonder what those are?”

“They're red,” Applejack stated, “Why don't Ah like that?”

The two girls continued to slowly walk forward, eventually seeing someone approaching them from up ahead. As they got closer, they saw that it was Fluttershy, who did not look how they expected. She truly looked to be around their age, and she was wearing a really long and beautiful green and white gown, a silver tiara, light pink gloves on her hands, and white high heels.

“Is that Fluttershy?” Rainbow Dash asked.

“She's so pretty,” Pinkie Pie said softly. The two girls stopped right in front of Fluttershy, who bowed to the two of them elegantly.

“Welcome to the Forest Sector, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie. I'm Fluttershy,” she reintroduced herself. Not sounding digital, Fluttershy sounded too human.

“It's nice to meet you in person, Fluttershy,” Rainbow Dash said walking up to Fluttershy and holding out her hand. Fluttershy looked at her hand, and surprisingly shook it without needing an explanation.

“Nice to meet you two, Rainbow Dash,” Fluttershy said, smiling warmly. Pinkie Pie walked over to Fluttershy and shook her hand too.

“So, where do you live exactly?” Pinkie Pie asked, “I mean, here in Lyoko, where do you live?”

“You wish to know where I spend my time?” Fluttershy asked, “Come with me. I'll show you.”

As they walked off, Dash turned to Pinkie Pie, “Not what I was expecting from a virtual world, ya know?”

“This is almost spooky,” Pinkie Pie said, “Like if a video game were real life or something.”

They heard something mechanical walking toward them. The three girls stopped and turned to see three small critters walking toward them. They had four short legs each, large funny shaped heads that were also their bodies, and a strange symbol like an eye on their tops.

“What are those things?” Pinkie Pie asked.

“Beat's me. Twilight?” Rainbow Dash asked.

“Sorry, no clue. They appeared around the time you guys did. Actually, I've seen red arrows like them before, but they never really stick around.”

“Maybe they want to play with us,” Pinkie Pie said skipping over to the tiny creatures.

“Pinkie Pie, be careful!” Dash called out. Suddenly, Fluttershy ran behind Dash and held her arm tightly, “Hey, you okay?”

“I feel afraid,” Fluttershy said, “Those creatures, I feel something horrible from them,” she was trembling now, “Pinkie Pie needs to get away from them.”

“Pinkie Pie, you hear that?” Dash asked, “Our fair lady here says we need to jet.”

“Aw, these guys are harmless,” Pinkie Pie said kneeling down in front of the one in the center, “Isn't that right, cutie patootie? You wouldn't just a fly, would you?”

As she spoke, red energy build up from the front of its face, and a red beam shot out from its eyes at Pinkie Pie, knocking her back to Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy.

Pinkie Pie: 80 HP

“Pinkie Pie!” Dash called out running to her friends side, “Are you okay?”

“Curiosity killed the cat... that's what they say, right?” Pinkie Pie said woozily.

The other two creatures fired their lasers at them but they all missed as Rainbow Dash helped Pinkie Pie up, took Fluttershy by the hand and ran as fast as she naturally could away from the monsters. Pinkie Pie was right next to them running on all fours.

“Twilight! Any bright ideas?!” Rainbow Dash asked.

“Get Fluttershy back to the tower! You'll be safe there!” Twilight said.

“Tower?! What tower?!” Rainbow Dash asked.

“That's my home!” Fluttershy said, “The tower is one of many here on Lyoko, and I can transfer to different regions with them!”

“Got it, then we'll get you there!” Pinkie Pie said. They stopped running when they saw the tower, which was currently being guarded by two enemies similar to the smaller creatures chasing them, but with blocked shaped tops.

“Geez, more of them?!” Rainbow Dash whined.

“What do we do?” Fluttershy asked fearfully.

“Here's what I suggest!” Dash pulled out her kunai and got in a fighting stance, “I say we fight our way through!”

“Yeah! Let's take em out!” Pinkie Pie said turning around to face the smaller creatures chasing them.

Rainbow Dash VS Bloks x2

Pinkie Pie VS Kankrelats x3

The smaller monsters, apparently called kankrelats, began firing at Pinkie Pie, who jumped around them on all fours out of the way. They couldn't touch her no matter what. Eventually it occurred to her that she had to try attacking at some point, so she just did what she thought was natural. She rolled into a ball just like her favorite video game character, and tackled one of the kankrelats destroying it.

“Yeah!” Pinkie Pie shouted happily, “Twilight! I figured out how to attack!”

“Great!” Twilight said, “It looks like your entire body is a weapon! Keep it up!”

“Got it Twilight!” Pinkie Pie said, rolling onto a ball again and tackling a second kankrelat.

As for Rainbow Dash, she ran toward the two bloks, who began firing blue lasers at her. She jumped into the air, and threw one of her kunai at the blok, but it bounced off its body. Dash landed, but the blok behind her fired at her back knocking her to the ground.

Rainbow Dash: 70 HP

“Rainbow Dash! You just lost thirty hit point!” Twilight cried out.

“Hit points? What, like a video game?” Dash asked.

“Yes. There are two cards on my screen that show your pictures, and the number went down by thirty. You need to take them out!”

Dash rolled over to her discarded kunai and picked it up, “Yeah, that's the hard part! None of my attacks are doing any damage!”

“The eye!” Fluttershy called out from behind a tree, “Try hitting the eye!”

“The eye huh?” Dash asked, turning to the two bloks as they walked over to her. They charged up their eyes and fired their lasers at her, but this time Rainbow Dash rolled to the side and threw her kunai into the eye of the blok on the left destroying it.

Pinkie Pie destroyed the final kankrelat and ran over to Rainbow Dash's side.

“Getting the hang of this?” Pinkie Pie asked.

“Yeah, and I think I learned a new trick too. Watch this!” Dash ran straight at the final blok.

“Hey! Careful Dash!” Applejack said from the monitor.

“It'll be fine!” Dash said. The blok fired at her, but she flipped out of the way and then landed right in front of it. She made a few hand signs, and then two clones of her appears from behind her.

“Can't call myself a ninja if I can't make a simple shadow clone,” Dash said with a smirk. The blok looked around, as if trying to figure out which one was real. It fired at one clone, but it rolled to the side throwing a kunai at it, intentionally missing. The other two Dashes dashed past the blok destroying it. The two clones vanished, and Dash turned to both Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy giving them a thumbs up.

Twilight fell back in her seat sighing in relief.

“They did it,” Twilight said.

“Weird,” Applejack said thoughtfully, “Dash and Pinkie Pie both have weapons, but Fluttershy doesn't?”

“That is odd,” Twilight said, “Fluttershy, do you know why that is?”

“I'm afraid not,” Fluttershy said, “I do know that their composition is different than mine still.”

“Guys, for right now, get to the tower. I can get you guys out of Lyoko from there,” Twilight said.

“Aw man, but it was just getting fun!” Rainbow Dash whined.

“Trust me, this won't be the last time we go in, I'm sure,” Twilight said typing on the computer, “But we need to discuss some of what we've seen.”

“Does this mean we're in the Super Secret Club now?” Pinkie Pie asked happily.

“I think that's pretty obvious,” Twilight said smiling, “Besides, I need to know more about your experience in Lyoko.”

As the three girls continued running to the tower, they saw something in front of them. A large gray sphere rolled in their way.

“Think that thing is friendly?” Pinkie Pie asked. The sphere opened up, revealing some red wires underneath and the same kind of eye symbol as the other monsters. The eye charged up with energy, and a large red stream shot out of from the sphere monster. Rainbow Dash pushed Fluttershy out of the way, and Pinkie Pie jumped to the other side.

“Does that answer your question?!” Dash asked.

The sphere rolled closer to them, turned to the side, and opened up again firing its blast. Fluttershy screamed and ran to the side, and Dash ran after her, but Pinkie Pie wasn't able to move out of the way in time and got hit by the blast.

“AHHH!!!!” Pinkie Pie screamed falling back.

Pinkie Pie: 0 HP

As she hit the ground, her entire body broke apart leaving a wire framed outline, which then vanished.

On the computer screen, Pinkie Pie's card vanished on the screen.

“Pinkie Pie!!!” Twilight called out, “Dash, what happened?!”

“I don't know!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed, “She got hit by the weird sphere thing, but then she was gone!”

Applejack turned around at the sound of the elevator opening, and saw Pinkie Pie standing there looking exhausted.

“It's alright Dash,” Applejack said, “Pinkie Pie's back here with us.”

Dash sighed in relief, “Pinkie Pie? Are you okay?”

“Yeah Dashie, I'm fine,” Pinkie Pie said, “A little tired, but I'm fine. You can't die in a video game, Dashie.”

Fluttershy gasped, “Twilight! The monster is looking at us again!”

Applejack looked at Fluttershy's card, seeing that she had hit points too. She tightened her fist and then ran to the elevator.

“Twilight, Ah'm goin in!” Applejack said.

“Are you sure?!” Twilight asked.

“We ain't got time! Pinkie Pie got sent back here cause she's human, but Fluttershy ain't! If she loses her hit points she'll die!”

Twilight turned to the computer screen, seeing Fluttershy's card, “Applejack, I'm counting on you.”

Applejack nodded as the elevator closed. She then walked to the scanner room over to the scanner that Pinkie Pie had just used.

“Transfer Applejack!” Twilight said as the scanner closed, Applejack with a serious expression.

On the computer screen, a CGI rendering of Applejack dressed as a trench coat wearing cowgirl was spinning around as if being rendered, “Scanner Applejack!”

Inside the scanner, Applejack was slowly lifted to the air spinning around.

“Virtualization!” Twilight said pressing the enter key. There was a white flash in the scanner, and Applejack vanished.

In Lyoko, Applejack took form mid air, and then perfectly landed on the ground. She was now wearing a long brown trench coat and a Texas Sheriff’s outfit complete with the brown vest, badge, and boots. In her tench coat she found her weapon, a large double barreled shot gun.

Applejack pulled it out and turned to the side, where she saw Rainbow Dash running circles around the sphere monster, and Fluttershy hiding behind a nearby tree.

Applejack ran over to Fluttershy and put a hand on her shoulder. Fluttershy flinched slightly, but then smiled when she saw who it was.

“Applejack!” Fluttershy cried happily. Applejack smiled and then looked at the monster. It tried firing at Rainbow Dash, but she ran to the side using what looked like super speed out of the way. Applejack took that as her chance to fire at the monster with her shot gun, catching its attention.

“Why don't ya play with me?” Applejack said seriously.

Applejack VS Megatank

Applejack reloaded her gun, and then fired at the tank while walking forward. It was closed, so it didn't take any damage, but her shots seemed to be strong enough to push it back. Applejack repeated the gesture, still walking forward and pushing the megatank back with her shots.

“Dash, when ya see it open up, throw yer kunai at its eye!” Applejack commanded.

“Got it!” Dash said readying a kunai.

The megatank opened up charging up an attack, but this time Rainbow Dash was ready. She flipped to the side throwing a kunai at the exposed eye, damaging the tank but not killing it.

Applejack got on one knee and pointed her gun forward, taking her time aiming it. She then fired point blank at the eye with her shot gun, pushing the megatank back against a raised platform before it exploded. Applejack turned back to Fluttershy as she stepped out of her hiding place.

“It's safe now, Fluttershy,” Applejack stated, “Get in the tower, we'll see ya back in the real world.”

Fluttershy nodded and hugged both Applejack and Rainbow Dash.

“Thank you so much for protecting me!” she said, “Pinkie Pie, you too!”

“Aw, you're welcome, Fluttershy,” Pinkie Pie said happily, “Next time I'm in Lyoko, you owe me a hug.”

“Alright, I'll bring everyone back into the real world,” Twilight said, “Fluttershy, it'll be safe in the tower.”

“Right,” Fluttershy said, “I'll see you there.”

“Materialize Rainbow Dash! Materialize Applejack!” Twilight said, the two girls vanishing from Lyoko as Fluttershy fazed into the tower.

“Those monsters weren't a part of Lyoko,” Applejack said, “At least, Ah don't think they were.”

“They looked like they were viruses or something,” Twilight stated, “But, where were they sent from?”

“I don't know,” Fluttershy said from the computer, “But I felt a presence watching us while we were there. Girls, I don't think you should come back here. It's dangerous in here, and-”

“Oh no. Not happening,” Rainbow Dash said, “We're not leaving you alone in there. The fact that something attacked you while you were out of the tower doesn't sit well with me.”

“Yeah! Fluttershy's our friend. We're not going to leave her alone, right?” Pinkie Pie asked.

“Not at all,” Applejack said, “For now, stay in the tower where it's safe. We'll figure out what's goin on.”

“Thank you everyone,” Fluttershy said smiling at her new friends, “I feel so much safer with you all protecting me.”

As it was night time, the four girls said their goodbyes to Fluttershy and began making their way back to the school.

“My personal computer can connect to Lyoko, so we can meet up there and talk to Fluttershy,” Twilight said.

“So let's meet up in and Applejack's room after school,” Rainbow Dash said, “Man, I can't wait to go back in there!”

“Ah don't know Dash,” Applejack said looking back at the factory, “Somethin about this whole thing ain't right.”

“What do you mean, AJ?” Pinkie Pie asked.

“It just... it feels like we're missin somethin, or like somethin's about ta happen.”

“Ahh, you worry to much,” Rainbow Dash said, “This time we locked up the place, right?”

“Exactly,” Twilight said, “I made extra precautions. No one is getting into that factory without my permission.”

Applejack hoped so, but she couldn't shake the feeling. Maybe she was still spooked by the whole thing, but somehow, she just knew that something bad was going to happen, and really soon.

Elsewhere in a military base, strange static appeared on a computer screen in an office. The static vanished, and a strange symbol appeared on it.

A symbol sort of shaped like a red eye...

Part one of my pilot of Code Lyoko: EG is finished. Please comment and let me know what you think?

Oh, I changed a few things already, like how Twilight can already bring people out of Lyoko. You'll see how that plays into Fluttershy later on though.
