Chapter 33: One Broken Target
Previous Chapter Next ChapterAria walked into her living room, getting ready to leave for the trial. Lets face it: none of them wanted to go. But being a complete bitch about it wouldn't solve it. Aria adjusted her curls in the mirror, flipping the into place, taking sure the teal stood out in the right places. Then she turned around to find Adagio, laying on the couch in her PJ's, watching television.
"What the hell are you doing?" Aria yelled, ripping the blanket off of Adagio.
Adagio rolled onto her stomach. "Trying to sleep."
"Get ready for the trial." Aria demanded, in her moody and tierd voice.
"I don't want to run into Sunset." Adagio yawned as she sat up and took her blanket up.
Aria sighed heavily. "None of us really want to, either, but Sonata is in the car and you sorta returned from the dead so you need to go."
"I look ugly." Adagio put the blanket over her head. Gee, this girl was going to pick any excuse out of the hat, wasn't she? Aria thought.
"Adagio, would you like the officers to get you out of bed!" Aria once again ripped the blanket off Adagio, this time sending her onto the floor.
"Ow!" Adagio screamed. "Fine, fine, I'll be down in ten minutes, freaking brat."
"Five, we have-"
"Don't push it."

"Why are you late?" Maggie asked Aria as her and the rest of the dazzlings walked into the court room.
"I woke up late. Sorry." Adagio apologized, longing to go back to sleep.
Maggie crossed her arms. "You all better be."
"How are we having a trial?" Sonata questioned, putting her phone in her pocket.
Maggie gave Sonata a careless look. "What do you mean?"
"Nobody was arrested," Aria stated, flipping her curls. "So, no one is being convicted."
"We're going to use the information you provide to us during the trial today to see if anybody possibly matches information." Maggie held her head high, turned sturnely, and marched her water to the court room.
"Maggie!" Adagio ran after her, in high heels, obviously having something important to say.
She made her sharp turn around. "Yes Dazzle?"
"I sare a face," Adagio lied.
Maggie made her sharp turn. "For the court."
Aria gave her sister a shit filled look. "You better not say Sunset."
"She was in the hoodie!"
"So where you when you broke into Rainbows. Remember when they accused you? Take that feeling and multiply it by 500. That's how Sunset feels."
"Your taking her side?" Sonata yelled, backing to Adagio.
"Did you even read the book?" Aria asked Adagio.
"No, but-"
"I did. All night. She lied about so much in that book, she didn't mention Speed, Talent, or anything! She lied to F about Rainbow, saying she wasn't hacking, and guess what! She also said that she loved you, and you'll do anything to protect us, especially you! Now don't you feel a tiny guilty? Or are you still that evil sack of shit from the battle of the bands?" Aria had tears streaming down her face along with Adagio. Adagio turned around and ran to the bathroom. Aria and Sonata followed.
Adagio looked at herself in the mirror with nothing but depression. Aria was now the one who felt guilt. And now Adagio was screwed. "Adagio I'm-"
"Don't apologize Aria," Adagio said quickly, choking on tears. "You're right. I was a bitch to Sunset. She will never forgive me. You two deserve better then this."
Adagio began to break out in a sob. Aria had never seen her cry like this, it scared both herself and Sonata. It was one of the most depressing things she'd ever witness. And it hurt her insides. Suddenly, Adagio found Aria sobbing in her arms. Adagio hugged her tightly, feeling her tears dry away and her smile.
Aria wipped the last of her tears away. "I love you sis."
"I love you too." Adagio smiled, grabbing Sonata and engaging her in the group hug.

Sunset found herself sitting alone, waiting for the stupid trial nobody gave a Damn about to begin. The funny feeling of all of her old friends staring at her took her over, making a shiver go up her spine. She looked over to see Adagio clearly having a little 'assembley' because all six where looking at her. And Adagio were lips were moving. Nonstop. For about ten minutes.
They think there slik. Sunset thought, watching them give her glances. But, the glances weren't hate. They were apologetic. Why don't I like this? Adagio then got up, crawling over Rarity and Pinkie Pie, and scooted into the seat next to Sunset.
Sunset looked down. "I get it. You hate me. Don't need a reminder."
Adagio ripped Sunset out of her focus and kissed her. Sunset quickly stumbled back and gave her a horrified look. "What was that?"
"I get not good at apologizing," Adagio began, blushing. "But we're all sorry. I read the book. You were really trying to help. Nobody has ever done that for me, you were protect-"
"I forgive you. I have done research. F didn't kill Flash. I know who did." Sunset put a piece of hair behind her ear.
"I tried escaping many times. I got really lucky that day and got my hand on a gun. I killed him. It was me." Adagio felt a relief revealing the truth, but Sunsets expression looked invalid.
"I was gonna say Spitfire." Sunset said, eyes widened. "You did it?"
Adagio put her pointer finger to her lip. "A clever young girl once said Secrets are like weapons, they can backfire at anytime."
"Are you going to confess?" Sunset asked, curling her bangs with her hair.
Adagio nodded. "If you do about helping, I will about killing. I'll go with you anywhere."
"Sorry to split up this act of love," Rarity interrupted, scooting onto Adagios seat. "But the trials staring, and we have two empty seats that are getting cold and lonely."
Adagio and Sunset smiled and moved into those two empty seats.
"Okay," the judge demanded after seven minutes, "our first wittness?"
"Yes, her name is Octavia Melody." Maggie yelled, reading off a list.
Adagio turned around. "Holy shit," she began tapping Arias sholder. "You better have told Scootaloo about Sasha Flames."
Aria spun around and looked at Adagio was looking at. It was nothing, nothing but Scootaloo and the other two crusaders only sitting two feet away from Sasha Flames. Shit. Aria panicked in her head.
"Now," Hanna asked, flipping her long blonde hair back. "What's your story?"
"I was arrested and framed for going into my school and destroying property." Octavia reminded every one in the room, if she hadn't been hanging out fliers saying this. "By a selfish brat.". Applejack tried to see who she was making eye contact with. "By her."
Octavia was pointing to Applebloom. Applebloom bit her lip but gave a You are lying fave to Octavia.
"By whom?" Hanna was even lost, thinking how could a thirteen year old do that?
"Applebloom." Octavia said, acting like Alison. "She was angrey with her teacher for some reason that involved lying. And her two friends are covering,"
"Are you kidding me?" Scootaloo screamed, jaw hanging.
"Don't play dumb." Octavia demanded, leaving Scootaloo with the same expression.
"Is that all?" Hanna asked.
"Yes." Octavia got off the stand and walked slyly pasted the crusaders, a look screaming Bite me!
"Okay, that was strange. Next to the stand?" Hanna said, shaking every detail of Octavia Melody out of her mind.
"Yes," Maggie shuffled papers. "The court calls Adagio Dazzle."
Adagio stood up and took no time to give anybody glances.
"You were in that maze for how long?" Hanna asked.
"Two months." Adagio told her, thinking about 100% honest.
"And this 'F' made you into a Sunset?". Hanna heard Misty snicker, turning her head to her. Misty leaned down, as if she was being caught it school for talking.
"Yes, or into a doll." Adagio corrected.
"Did F or whoever, take there mask off?"
"No?"
Maggie looked shocked as Hanna repeated the question. "Did you see a face?"
"No. I sare it in a dream, but it was fake because it looked like Flash and he's dead."
"And you realized that now?" Maggie called, obviously annoyed.
Adagio was quite. "Next question please?"
"Oh um... was there any conversation that could help us?" Hanna said, taking deep breath.
"No." Adagio said.
"Thank you." Hanna said. "Next to the stand, Sasha Flames.".
Sasha got up and began walking towards the stand. Aria kept signaling her not to get up or move, making what looked like a fit out off it. She knew Scootaloo would find out now.
"Adagio, you can get up." Maggie told her, giggling her a confused look.
Adagio nodded, looking at Aria mouthing words. "I like this chair."
Aria face palmed. "Adagio, get up." Hanna commanded, face scrunched.
"I - I -"
"Is there a problem Adagio?" The judge asked, leaning over a little.
"I can't-"
"Does Sasha have to go on the stand?" Aria stalled, standing up.
"Yes." Maggie, Hanna, and the judge all said.
Aria stood defeated. "Can we resite Shakespeare?'
"Girls-"
"We can't let Sasha on the stand it could hurt someone." Adagio covered her mouth.
"Go Adagio!" Hanna screamed. Adagio did as told, leaving Arias face pale.
"Sorry about that Sasha," Hanna apologized, eyeing Adagio and Aria, who were freaking out.
"Sorry sis, you're screwed," Adagio whispered in Arias ear. Aria, still pale, nodded in agreement.
"Now, Aria was the one who found you, what did you tell her?" Hanna asked. Aria burried her hands in her face and leaned down so she wasn't visable to Scootaloo.
"My name, I didn't Remeber most of my family except my daughter, who I had before I was kidnapped thirteen years ago."
"What's her name?"
Fuuuuuccccckkkkk! Aria mumbled.
"Scootaloo." Sasha said. Scootaloos eyes went wide and she went pale, look for Aria in the chairs from the only view she had.
"You only told Aria this?" Hanna asked. Sasha nodded.
"Are you serious Aria!" Aria heard Scootaloo call. Aria sat up and turned around. "How long were you going to keep me in the dark?"
"I was gonna tell you, I swear! But your Aunt kicked me out the door every time I came to tell you." Aria cried apologetically. "I'm sorry."
"Ever heard of texting?"
"In Arias defence, texting you that would have been real screwed up." Adagio said. "Its like text dumping."
"SAVE IT YOU BAG OF HAIR!" She screamed.
"What's the issue, ladies?" The judge asked.
"The issue is Aria was going to to keep me in the dark that my mother has been alive this whole time." Scootaloo argued.
"I wasn't going to keep you in the-"
"Wait she was here this whole time and you didn't tell me?" Sasha said in the same sassy tone as Scootaloo. Yup, they were related.
"I hate this." Aria grumbled.
"OBJECTION!" Sonata screamed at the top of her lungs.
"That's it, I'm done." Aria said, jumping out of her seat and heading out the door.
"I'll spam you." Scootaloo yelled.
Aria lifted her phone and faced the screen towards Scootaloo then clicked a button. "Blocked!"

"That... was so unlike here, it's like her soul changes after Sonata screamed objection." Adagio told Sunset, as she drank her frappuccino. Sunset sat silently. "What's wrong?"
"I don't understand why Octavia would do that." Sunset said. "The Crusaders are only kids who lost their ways."
Adagio nodded in agreement. "It was a shitty move. But they won't get charged because Hanna didn't believe her, obviously."
"Um, excuse me?" Adagio and Sunset looked up to see a girl with white hair in two pigtails, looking very pissed.
Sunset sare bother Adagios and the girl with white pigtails eyes go small.
"You're in our table." The girl continued, not as pissed.
"Is your name on it?" Adagio sarcastically asked, looking under the table to make sure. "Nope, it's not. So, it's not your table."
"Get up you bag of shit." The other girl with long pink hair demanded.
"No." Sunset said. "We got here first."
"Fine, whatever losers!" The pink haired one said. "Let's go Sugar Coat."
"No Sour Sweet." Sugar stopped her. "We're not going anywhere."
Sour rolled her eyes. "Why? Don't you know these two are killlers? "
Sugar Coats eyes went smaller.
"Excuse me?" Adagio yelled, anger in her eyes. She moved her eyes back and forth between the two. "What did you call me!"
"A killer Flash whatever his name is. Even Twilight Sparkle."
"Shut the fuck up, Pucca buns."
"Hey, hey Adagio let's go-"
"No Sunset! Let me give this girl a piece of my mind."
Sour Sweet snickered. "Can you afford that?"
"Gee, I don't know, can you afford to shut you mouth or will your head blow off?" Adagio smiled, dumping her frappuccino on her shirt. Sour Sweet gave her a cross look. Adagio flipped her short hair and walked away. She stopped when she was far enough from the two Shadowbolts.
"Killers..." Adagio mumbled. "They know I killed Flash."
"No, they can't..." Sunset whispered, coming up behind her.
Adagio turned around with a jurk. She grabbed Sunset. "I think those girls were Twilights old friends. Ofcourse there gonna try to find out what happened!"
"Adagio, those girls are too busy training for the Friendship Games, which is another four months away."
"But Sunset," Adagio yelled, shaking in her own boots. "Don't you see? What if, they lie, what if..."
"Take a chill pill Adagio, you're not going to get in trouble for killed Flash. It was self defense. Or, Aria and Sonatas defence."
"Maybe I should just confece."
"That, my friend, is throwing yourself under the bus."
