We see the everlasting winter of the north raging on and see the Crystal Empire inside a shield strong enough to push back the winter from harming the empire. We see a mountain fairly close but far enough not to worry about any avalanches, and we move in to see a lone, dark cave. The cave floor and walls were completely made out of ice, but the further you go you can see more ice covering everything. You could even feel as if something was making this happen. You go further you see a giant block of black ice with something in it, a bipedal creature trapped inside of the ice with its hands over its head and on its knees. The ice begins to crack slightly and some black snow seeps out, it starts to freeze over the cave from the inside out.

A mare guard on one of the balcony was looking out to see if there is any trouble. As usual there isn't much trouble but her sight move past the mountain with the cave and quickly move her sight to see the mountain being covered in black ice. The unicorn mare couldn't believe her magenta eyes was seeing and ran to Princess Cadence with her short red mane flowing behind her. She wasn't a crystal pony but a transfer from the guard academy. Her armor clanked against the floor as she ran with sweat going down her dark orange coat and she stood in front of the doors of the thrown. She calmly walked and bowed down to Princess Cadence and the Royal Captain Guard Shining Armor.

"You may rise, Flare Guard." Cadence said and Flare rose as she was told.

"What is the problem?" Shining Armor asked.

"The mountain toward the west, it's being covered in what looks like black ice." Flare said as she tries to regain her breath. The two next to the thrown showed faces of worry. "I think a saw the black ice grew, but I am not sure." she got her breath back and stood as tall as any Shining Armor.

"Shining, send a letter to my aunts." Cadence said to her husband.

"Of course, come with me, Flare." Shining said while walking out of the thrown with Flare following him.

A four year old human boy sits alone in school, playing on a handheld game by himself when a few kids walked up to him. He looked up though his white hair with his ice blue eyes. He sat in the shadows because his skin is very pale. They asked if he wanted play them and he smiled happily while agreeing to play with them, but they had other plans. They beat him up until a teacher came by and stopped them, leaving him hurt. He had bruises, cuts, and was bleeding out all over, he cried as he lay there in the fetal position regretting ever trusting their fake kindness. After a few days in the hospital he was visited by those same kids and they apologized, but he didn't believe them. He yelled at them and stormed off. Others talked to him and played with him, but in the end they betrayed his trust making him hate all of them. He gotten into many fights since then and started going home bleeding while leaving those he fought on the ground. He also got a little sister around the same time when the kids beat him up.

He began to ignore all of them and play his handheld games. He found a store with a portable DJ table and asked his parents to buy it for him, they said they would if he gets good grades until he gets into middle school. He agreed to it and gotten nothing but A's with one or two B's in there. He gotten to middle school, so he asked about the DJ table and they said that they were joking making his trust for them broken. He trusted them on this deal from kindergarten to the end of 5th grade, six years of trust broken and now he can barely trust them. He started to work for the DJ table and finally got enough money for it, but his parents wouldn't let him keep the money. He didn't listen to them and bought the portable DJ table in the last year of middle school.

During the summer, he made music and started to watch a kid show called My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. He made his music and posted it online, getting major hits. He started making money out of it but never used that money unless he has to. His little sister would always follow him around like a puppy, but she was the last he still trusted and really cared for. He was still cold to her but still showed that he still had a heart to give. His little sister showed him MLP:FIM and since then he watched it with her. He begin to make music based on the show as well as his own music and didn't care for what any hater says. After summer he entered high school.

The mane six were on a train on their way to the Crystal Empire and they all were doing their own little thing. Rainbow Dash wearing a white t-shirt with her cutie mark on it, a cyan sports jacket with a lightning bolt on the back closed, tight sports shorts with a lightning bolt on the side, and was talking about fighting some big monster in the mountain. Fluttershy was wearing a simple green sweater and brown jeans leaving nothing to imagine while shaking in fear as she was listening to Rainbow about some monster. Rarity was wearing a white dress with blue wrap around it and was talking about getting special fabrics. Pinkie Pie was wearing a yellow shirt with a blue strap going over her shoulders, a pink skirt, a necklace with her cutie mark on it, and she was excitedly talking about something. Apple Jack was wearing her hat, a white shirt, a brown jacket, brown jeans, and was telling them to stay on the task at hand. Twilight Sparkle was wearing a blue shirt with her cutie mark right above her chest, blues jeans, and was looking over the letter she got from Princess Celestia.

We have received word that a mountain near the Crystal Empire is being covered in black ice and seems to be growing. Please go to the mountain and stop the black ice. Discord will join you since he can sense where this strange ice is coming from. I hope for the best of luck to you.

"So, Twilight, why is Discord going with us?" Rainbow asked with a hint of annoyance, clearly showing her disliking to Discord. The other ponies, except for Fluttershy, showed there disliking to him as well.

"He can sense where the ice is coming from. We need him, even if most of us don't like him." Twilight said with a sigh.

"See, he can be very helpful." Fluttershy said, defending Discord. As she said that, Spike walked into the train cart with Discord. Spike was wearing a black with green sleeves jacket, black jeans, and no shirt. Discord didn't need to wear anything so he didn't.

"What kind of magic makes black ice anyway?" Spike asked while taking a seat and Discord taking a seat next to Fluttershy.

"It's not a good kind of magic." Twilight answered Spike.

"We're here." Rainbow said as the train stopped at the station for the Crystal Empire.
