Earth pony, Pegasus or unicorn?
Chapter 5
Previous ChapterChapter 5
I looked at them in disbelief. The wings were the same color as the rest of me, and looked like they belonged to me. But they didn’t. I flapped them a little to see if they were reel. I could feel them moving. Yup, there reel. I thought, then I remembered the trapped filly. I look back up at it, the fire was closing in fast.
“Well I got ‘em, might as well use ‘em.” I said, then began to run at the burning building. Spreading the newly formed wings and did my best to flap them. The way I’d seen the other pegasi do. First I got off the ground with relative ease.
I had flown remote control plains before. It can’t be too different in the way one terns. I somehow got some control, just enough to fly up to the filly. I crash landed into the poor thing garbing it in my arms, or whatever these things are called, then fell off the other side of the roof. Then tried to get flying agent, but instead flew into a sign, and whirled around that twice which sent use flying back in the air.
At this point, I was just trying not to get the 2 of use killed. We were spinning in air, in attempt to stop the spinning I put out my wings again, bad move. We made an abrupt right turn state into Sugar Cube Corners Bakery, braking the door down, smashing threw the tallest cake in the history of cakes, and finally, we were stopped by the shelving, holding lots, and lots of flower. Witch ended up on me and the filly. Flower flew everywhere. Making it appear as if there was a 30 second blizzard in the bakery.
I don’t know how we survived, but somehow we did. Coughing out flower, I looked down at the filly. He was completely white, aside from its bright orange eyes looking up at me. The crazy thing was smiling at me. Really excitedly for that matter.
“Do it again! Let’s do it again!” the flower covered filly demanded, a huge smile on his face. I have to admit, that was the most existing thing I’d ever done, but that was a near death experience. I definitely do NOT want to do THAT again.
I put the filly down in front of me and tried to stand. But my back hurt too badly. I was shore I was going to have a nasty brose there. I tried to move my new wings to see if they were still there. Witch was very painful. It felt like someone had shoved the iron rode through it. Then I looked back at it, and wished someone had. It would have been more bearable to look at.
Twilight and apple jack came barging in, knocking the already broken door the last bit of the way off its hinges.
“Is every pony all right?” Apple jack demanded. Looking at the filly and I. “what happed here?” she rose her eye brow.
“We’re all rite, for the most part, except for this.” I said raising the strange new muscles in my back. It was still unnatural to fill a lib were there should be nun.
Apple Jack winced along with Twilight. But then they obviously relisted that I had not had a pair of wings to break last they saw of me. Twilit sped over to examine them.
“That’s odd, how’d you get these?” her tone had a back ground feeling of accusing.
“Well, I was woken up by the burning house.” I began thinking back to the moment. “I saw the filly in the building, and no one, I mean pony would give me there attention.” I thought of the next words, but they seemed odd. Had all I really done was wish for them and they were there? “I suddenly had wings and flew up to get the filly. Then crash landed here.” I gestured to the huge mess of flower.
The burning in the new limbs grew more agitating, and hard to bare. My vision began to go a bit hazy, I looked back at the wing. It was, turning an odd color. One that should only go on a pony who had been born with that color skin.
Then, out of no were, Twilight grabbed the mangled wing and started to move it around.
“Eeek!” I shrieked at the sudden jolt of pain.
“Hum.” Twilit said, examining the wing closer. I breathed fast, trying not to slap her silly. Although, how would slapping with hooves work? There much harder than hands, and would do much more damage. It’d be more like smacking someone with a piece of wood. Mabey one could pony-levitate a newspaper and smack them with that, or do they have tougher heads? Making slapping with hooves like using a hand in comparison? I’ll have to experiment later.
“Maybe we should get you to the hospital.” Apple Jack said, more to the very curios Twilight than me.
“Oh right.” Twilight said, releasing the damaged wing, sending another jolt of pain threw it. “But how long will they stay? Who knows, they many disappear in a short time, or they’ll be there forever…” her voice trailed off as she toyed with ideas of experimenting and studying them. I’m slightly concerned for my safety now.
“He..he..” Apply Jack said, giving me a hoof. Odd to say for me still. “Twilight, why don’t you take this filly here, to his parents, I’ll take BDraw here to the hospital.” She seemed to trying to break Twilight out of a trance.
“Oh right, come on.” Twilight said, seeming to change to a completely different pony all of a sudden. Like a responsible Mare who had been given an important task.
I followed Apple jack out threw the broken door, trying not to mone form the pain. I wondered who lived in the bakery, either they were sound sleepers, or they were out helping with the burning building. I felt a little bad leave it in such a state. I could hardly expect the surprise they’d get when they came home…
Finally Celestia had risen the sun. The birds were chirping, it was a rather nice day. Flutter Shy was wondering threw the crowded street, thinking about being assertive and just making her way over to Twilight’s library, but then would find herself almost ran over and back off, muttering a shy apology.
Twilight had asked her to come to the library as quickly as she could, but there were simply too many ponies in the streets. She knew there was no way to get across, so she began mapping out the best way to get around the crowd. Doing this would first require retiring back to her home, then heading around the south side of town, then she could use an ally route to make it to the library. She estimated the time would be about, 3 hours and 40 minutes to reach her destination. She cringed at the thought.
“Oh hi Flutter Shy!” Rainbow Dash yelled as she zoomed past. Then stopped, and turned back and hovered back to Flutter Shy. “Bad traffic?”
“yes.” Flutter Shy replied quietly.
“You know you can just fly over it, right?” Rainbow raised an eyebrow.
“Oh, right.” Flutter Shy stretched her neglected wings in rose off the ground slowly, then followed Rainbow over to Twilight’s door. Rainbow banged on the door. Louder than Flutter shy would have liked, but she supposed it was just Rainbow being Rainbow.
Inside was a huge mess. Flutter Shy could hardly take a step without tripping over a mound of books. Twilight was flinging books left and right say “no! No! NO!” as she examined a book, then tossed it to the side.
Finally she gave up and dropped all the floating books, in which most of landed on poor spike.
“Sorry girls, but I’m afraid this was all a waste.” She sighed disappointed. “I can’t seem to find the books about the Princess of the Changelings or 2 leggeds in Equestria. They’re gone.”
“Gone? Oh no!” flutter Shy exclaimed, in her quiet, reserved way.
“Was it stolen?” Rainbow asked, attempting to land on a stack of books, which toppled. So she decided hover instead.
“I’m not shore.” Twilight’s face twisted as she thought. “But without it, I won’t get to study them any further. And I had not gotten far in them at all.” she frowned, staring at the ground.
“Well, maybe rainbow can ask around?” Flutter Shy suggested.
“Why can’t you help?” Rainbow replied, again raising her eyebrow. (That saying, ponies have eyebrows. Witch they don’t.)
“You mean ask other ponies about, things?” flutter Shy shivered. She suddenly wished there was a corner not occupied by books to hide in. The idea of talking to other unfamiliar ponies was traumatizing as it was.
“Fine.” Rainbow gritted her teeth and headed out the door. Flutter Shy followed. After digging up poor spike.
But just as flutter Shy was about to leave town, she saw something rather odd. The pony looked like the new BDraw, but she couldn’t be. BDraw was in the hospital. She shook her head and the pony was gone. She continued on her way, pretending as if she hadn’t seen a thing.
She continued to replay the memory of what she’d seen. The pony seemed to be luging a bag, a rather large strenuous bag for that matter. She figured she’d tell Twilight about it later.
