/Chapter 1: A New Journey Begins\

1:00 PM

--------------

Grassy sat next to the corpses of the Fallen Heroes. Tears, running down his muzzle in recollection of memories he formed of his late family.

"I... I can't believe it... I... I just sat there... Hid in a bush... Like the coward I am... I watched them all die...!" He sobbed in everlasting saddness, letting the feeling of loss fill his concience. "D...Damn it! I should've helped them! Now they're dead, and Twilight and the others are captured! They're probably being tortured or something...! I can't bear the thought of it...!"

After some time, he felt a distant rumbling in the ground. There was an unfamiliar scent of gasoline and sounds of gears operating.

"Wh-what is that...?"

A large contraption rolled in front of him. It seemed to be some kind of armored vehicle. It appeared to be made of rusted sheets of metal, girders, and other rather sketchy materials. As it approached him, it proceeded to tower above him.

The hatch of the vehicle opened quickly, then fell to the ground.

"Ahg... Celestia be my witness, if one more thing pops off of this rust bucket I'll..." A mares voice threatened.

The mare had a beige coat with a blonde, rugged mane and reasonably short tail. Her eyes were colored dark brown. Her left eye had a rather large scar on it, symbolizing that she may have been attacked by a savage animal. She wore an urban camouflaged flak jacket and bulletproof vest. Her helmet was urban colored as well, and had bullet holes lining the top of it. It had silver goggles strapped to it. Her cutiemark seemed to be a Fragmentation Grenade.

She chuckled. "Heh, looks like the storm hit already. Hey, Green pony! You okay?"

Grassy stood and looked her in the eyes.  He starred at her scar and remembered what Star Dust told him just days ago.

/ "So, my scar's epic Star?" Grassy asked.

Star Dust traced Grassy's scar on his neck. "Yeah! I think scars like that tells of awesome warriors and thier battles!"/

The mare waved her hoof at Grassy slowly. "Uh... Are you okay dude?"

He snapped out of his recollections. "Y-yeah, just thinking, that's all."

She smiled. "Heh, you were pretty spaced out there for a second! So anyway, who are you? What's your name?"

He scratched his head. "I'm Grassy, the Guardian of Mother Nature and her animals."

She raised an eyebrow. "I heard a lot about your group. Heard you were all awsome fighters!"

He let out a long sigh. "Well, in my case, can't say you've heard correctly." He plopped down on the ground.

She brought his head up with with her rough hooves. "Pick yourself up. I don't know who these ponies are but... You're not out of the fight yet. If you're alive, you still have a chance."

He released his head from her grasp. "I guess you're right... What's your name? Sorry I didn't ask."

She tilted her helmet back. "No harm done. Name's Optix, the ultimate military pony!"

Grassy walked towards her vehicle. "That would explain this thing."

She nodded. "Yup, that's my tank! Thing's a beast on the battlefront! Its made of all kinds of stuff from the Ponyville junkyard!"

Grassy carefully examined the tank. It had somewhat of a funny smell to him. "That explains the smell too. How long did it take you to build this thing?"

She playfully wiped her forehead, insinuating great difficulty was involved in its engineering. "Took me months to build that! Good thing I live in the junkyard, I had all the privacy and time I needed to build that monster!"

Grassy crossed his hooves. "So, you live there? How comes I never seen you before then?"

She smirked. "I had everything I needed there. Ponies kept tossing thier trash into the joint, so I made good use of it. I didn't see any point in going outside before my tank was finished, so I stayed inside."

"Well, you're committed."

"Heck yeah I am! You gotta be if you wanna live long enough to enjoy your inventions!"

There was an odd period of silence.

Grassy looked off to his side.

"I need help with something."

"What's up?" She replied.

"I need ponies... Help with fighting Chrysalis. Do you know who she is?"

"I heard about her. The newspaper blew up with her name on every page. Want me to handle her?"

Grassy frowned. "You can't do it on your own. We need allies. We need to lay low until we find some more."

She nodded again. "She's that tough huh? Alright, you know more about this than I do. C'mon, I got the perfect place lined up. Let's go to the quiet, relatively small town called Appleloosa. You've been there right?"

"Never stepped hoof in there."

"Well, the town is filled with lovely country ponies! The place isn't too 'Rowdy' either, so that's good. Hop in my tank, I have enough reserve fuel for the trip."

/Chapter 2: The Rebellious Country Mare/

The town of Appleloosa

1:30 PM

---------

"But ma, you seen the terror Chrysalis caused? Her name's coverin' the headlines like pigs over a mud pool!"

A mare said.

"Love Scarlet! I won't have no more of ya arguein'! Go do ya chores!"

"Grr... Fine! If Chrysalis kills us all, don't say I ain't told ya!" She trotted out of a door leading into a cottage.

Love Scarlet had a wine red coat with eyes the color of scarlet fabrics. She wore a chocolate brown cowboy hat that was decorated by expensive-looking gold strips. She also wore boots of the same color. She donned a vest that was also colored brown, but slightly lighter. It also had a metallic deputies badge pinned in it as well. Her mane and tail was black, but it had a shine to it too. Her cutiemark was a lasso wrangling a pink heart.

"Dangit ma, your always treatin' me like the local phillies 'round here! I'm seventeen gosh darnit!"

She trotted over to a tavern, quietly grumbling to herself.

The tavern had grizzly stallions lieing on the floor from over-drinking. The bar had new stools and flooring. Pictures of cows, apple trees and other nature related scenes lined the walls. There were rather tough looking mares playing darts in the back.

Love Scarlet sat on a wooden stool at the bar.

The bartender was a mare who smelled of different drinks. She had a rather attractive appearance however.

"Back again Scarlet? You ever get tired of Muggers, this ol' place yet?"

"Nah, this bar got some good rum ya know? Can I get a big mug of the usual?"

"Comin' right up." The bartender bucked a mug into the air, and it landed onto the bar. Then, she filled it up with a strong rum that had a even stronger scent.

"There ya go. 15 bits."

Scarlet chuckled. "Heh, I see the price tags for ya'll drinks ain't went down yet!" She tossed a bit purse to the bartender. Then, she downed the entire mug in about 10 seconds.

"I can say the same 'bout your drinkin' skills too!" She laughed.

Scarlet smacked the mug on the bar table. "That should be enough for me. I don't wanna get too buzzed."

A stallion stumbled over to the bar, drunk as a dog. "Hey...! W-wenchel...! Bring me another drink will ya?!"

The bartender threw a bottle at him, and it broke on his head. Then, he fell to the ground unconscious.

"My name is Glaze, not wenchel you moron!"

Scarlet laughed crazily. "Ha! I see you're as abrasive as ever!"

"Ain't nothin' gonna change that 'bout me!"

"I wouldn't think anything could." She rocked the stool childishly. "So... Got any news for me?"

Glaze threw another mug her way. "Well, I got some interesting things whispered about in the town."

She took a big gulp. "Ah, the bar is the best place for drunken idiots to spill the beans! What ya got for me?"

Glaze was rubbing a mug clean. "Know the whole fiasco involving Queen Chrysalis?"

Scarlet brought the mug down from her muzzle again. "Yeah I know her. What 'bout her?"

"The king was murdered by her. Everypony is all woop-di-loop 'bout it. Can't say I blame 'em though. Think his name was Alliby or somethin' like that. He was one of them Sayain ponies everyones talkin' about."

"Interesting. But what about Chrysalis herself? Any way I could cause her a mighty bit of trouble?"

Glaze leaned on the table. "Wanna cause some mischief huh? Your the type for it. Always have been. Ok, I got something small, fun, and profitable for ya if your in."

Scarlet took another drink from her wooden mug. "Lay it on me."

She parted her mane back. "There's a shipment of equipment- armor, weapons and other goodies, coming in from the west. From what I heard, this stuff is supposed to be for the growin' Changling army."

"So, for Chrysalis's troops basically?"

"Darn right."

"So, how'd you get all that detailed info from? Think it'd be a bit vague ya know?"

"Not really, at least not around here. These ponies tend to talk a lot when they're drunk. These idiot stallions tell too big a story sometimes!"

"True that. Muggers is the best place for news 'round town! When is the shipment comin' 'round?"

Glaze clapped a mug on the table. "Should be real soon. Dunno when though. You really wanna try it? You're kinda buzzed.

Scarlet laughed. "Ha! You know me Glazey! I'm fight better when I gots a bit of fluid in me!"

"Hm, your right about that, sure."

Scarlet got up and made way for the door. "Thanks for the drinks. I'll be on my way now."

"Hold on a minute, deputy."

She trotted over to her. "Here, take this. It's my father's revolver. Had it since he was a colt."

"Much appreciated. I'll need this for that shipment. I'll return it the way you gave it."

"Please do. It's dated, but my father always cleaned it. Should work just like when it was first made."

"Good to know I'll have a reliable sidearm with me." She whirled it into her spare holster. "I'll bring ya some of the goods. I'm feelin' generous today."

"So am I." Glaze said playfully. "I'll throw in some free mugs of your favorite rum if ya do."

"Then its a trade. Oh, and here's ya bits for the extra drink ya gave me." She tossed another 15 bits on the table.

"Thanks. Keep your flank clean out there. Appleloosa ain't what it used to be."

"I'll do ya that favor." She trotted out of the bar. "Don't let the stallions get to ya head again!" She shouted.

Glaze sighed lightly. "That mare is crazy. And I had a hoof in that too. She does some of the dumbest things and no matter how many times I try not to help her, I do it anyway. Guess I had too much rum myself." She muttered.

----------

7:30PM

----------

Grassy and Optix was driving across the rough sand, drawing closer to Appleloosa.

Grassy sighed. "Geez, Applelossa is farther than I thought. We've been on the road for hours already!"

Optix grunted. "Don't get in my ear about it! We're almost there. I can see that small town just up ahead!"

Love Scarlet was sleeping on a wooden tower just next to the train tracks leading out of town. Then, the distant rumbling woke her. "What the...? Wait... What in tarnation!?" She grabbed Glaze's revolver. "No way... That can't be the shipment... Can it? What is that thing?" She smirked. "Looks like a big ol' super weapon type nonsense. Whatever, it's a good find either way." She jumped from the tower, slid off of the roof of a cottage, then landed on the ground, finishing with a roll. "Here goes nothin'." She muttered.

A bullet ricocheted off of the tank.

"The heck was that?" Optix shouted.

Grassy shrugged. "I dunno- Ah!"

Bullets were hailing from what seemed like nowhere.

Scarlet was shoving ammo into the revolver. "Darn it! Ain't nothin' workin' on that contraption!"

"Move the cannon Grassy!" Optix screamed.

Grassy staggered. "H-how do I do that!?"

"Just move that wheel to the left over there!"

The cannon pointed in Scarlet's direction. "Oh buck!" She dashed out of the way before a tank shell nearly obliterated her. "That was too close!"

"Get another shell in there dude!"

"I'm only one stallion you know! These things are heavy!" Grassy's face was turning red.

Scarlet smirked. "Now's my chance!" She galloped towards the tank and jumped on it. "Yeeehaaaw!!" She shouted in excitement. "Time to grab the bull by the horns! How ya like a rodeo big fella?"

Optix grunted. "She's on the tank! I'll handle this Grassy!" She leaped through the hatch.

"Be careful!" He exclaimed.

Optix stood on the active tank, rumbling from its huge engine operating.

They both whipped out thier pistols, holding eachother at gunpoint.

Scarlet chambered the next bullet loaded. "Sorry to say this, but I'mma need to take this... Thing. Nothin' personal." She grinned with joy of her future new toy.

Optix frowned. "Yeah right! I'd like to see you try!"

"Then, let's put our weapons down, and settle this like real mares. Ain't too much to ask for, huh?"

Optix flipped her small pistol into her holster, then cracked her hooves. "So, you wanna get laid out instead? Fine! I hope you know how to use your hooves!"

Optix charged Scarlet at full speed. She attempted to land a punch on her face, but Scarlet phased away.

"What the? Your an Earth Pony! How the- Oof!"

Scarlet bucked her in the chin, causing her to flip off of the tank.

"I know darn well you got more than that! Unless your dressed like that for looks an' nothin' else!"

Optix wiped a bit of blood from her bottom lip. "Dang, your fast! Your big mouth runs just like it too!" She countered with a low sweep.

Scarlet jumped up, but then her face met with Optix's hooves from a follow up uppercut.

"Weren't expecting that, huh?" Optix remarked.

Scarlet collapsed on the tank. "Ahh... that hurt more than I thought it would... c'mon, I ain't out of it yet!"

They endlessly fought eachother, striking their hooves and faces trying to see who the better mare was.

Optix tackled Scarlet onto the ground. "Your pretty... tough! I'm starting to kinda like you...!"

Scarlet chuckled. "Your not too shabby ya self."

They both stood with a limp.

After some amount of silence,  they lunged after eachother, and threw one punch.

"Oof!" They both panted heavily, landing a strike on each others faces in this now tied competition of strength. They crashed upon the ground with small smiles present in their expressions.

Grassy soared out of the hatch of the tank. "Are you two okay?" He asked, a concerned tone present in his voice.

Scarlet stood once more, wiping sweat from her forehead. "This your friend here?"

Optix barely stood up alongside her. "Yeah... I found him at the Crystal Empire. He was in pretty bad shape. Anyway, name's Optix. His name is Grassy. What's yours?"

Scarlet grabbed her hat from the ground, dusted it off, then placed it on her head. "Names Love Scarlet. I'm the newest deputy of Appleloosa. 'Round here, the local citizens loves callin' me 'Miss Quick Hooves'. I guess you learned why in our little encounter. So on other subjects, you said somethin' that interested me."

Optix tapped her helmet in the process of recollection. "Uh... What exactly did I say that interested you?"

"Somethin' about the Crystal Empire. The newspaper was filled with the name 'Queen Chrysalis'. Know anything about her?"

Optix tilted her head slightly. "I know who she is. But not much about her though. Ask Grassy, I bet he knows a whole bunch about her, especially since he came from the Empire."

Scarlet looked at Grassy with a somewhat worried face. "Sounds like you've been in a bit of trouble. Anythin' happen to ya when you were there?"

He kicked a stray rock across the ground. He looked rather disturbed by her question. "....My... My..." He began to sniffle.

"Somethin' wrong?" Scarlet came in closer to him. "Tell me what happened. I'm here for ya."

Grassy began to make tears. "My... Friends died... By her hooves. There were four ponies, two of which were five year olds, the other two being a tempest of a mare and the King himself. She killed another one of my friends too, but at another location... They... Meaned... So much to me..."

Scarlet took her hat off and held it to her chest. "That mare will meet her end sooner or later. As much as I want to face her as well as ya'll do, I don't know if we have what it takes to even make her flinch."

Grassy frowned. "No... I don't care how weak we are. We will train, we will become powerful enough to put her down!"

Optix was flipping around  a small pistol. "How are we supposed to do that? Sounds like she's a hoof-full if she killed the king."

Grassy began looking at the moon. "I know it seemed impossible without King Alliby here... But we can win. We gotta have some kind of hidden power within us. We just gotta find it."

Scarlet looked at Optix and nodded. "He's right ya know. But where is our power hidden? Well, outside of us anyway."

Grassy kicked another rock, looking back in their direction. "I don't know where yours is... But I have an idea of where mines is. Can you help me reach it?"

Scarlet threw her hat back on. "Sure thing, partner! Anything if it means Chrysalis goes down!"

Optix stowed her pistol in its holster. "I'm in too. I'm always up for some action."

Grassy smiled lightly. "Thank you both. We're headed to Mother Nature's Domain. It's in Castellia, a country just north of Equestria. Her domain is in a huge, mythical forest. Should be hard to miss."

Optix smirked. "It's that far? Ok... I got something just for the job. But it's not my tank!"

Grassy cocked his eyebrow. "So... What exactly is it?"

"It's a surprise. Hop in my tank, we gots a long way to go- to Ponyville."

Scarlet looked back at Appleloosa. "Wait a second. I'm the newest deputy of Appleloosa. I can't just leave like this! What if somethin' happens here while I'm gone? And besides, my ma would kill me if she knew I was out-and-about playin' superhero!"

Grassy looked at her in her eyes. "You want to take out Chrysalis right? This may be your only chance."

"But... What if-"

Grassy pulled out a golden greatsword that had a cross for a hilt. It seemed to radiate light. "If you think this is a sham, look at this." He dropped the sword in her hooves carefully. "That's the Blade of Gods, only meant to be wielded by the king himself."

Scarlet was hypnotized by it's shine and brilliant design. "Wow... Won't you look at that? It's like a... Huge flashlight!"

"I know. Made almost purely out of light, it causes severe damage to foes with evil hearts. But the King hardly ever unsheathed this mighty weapon. He fights mostly with his hooves and nothing else."

Scarlet gave the sword back to him. "Where'd he get it from?"

"Don't know. He never told anypony where the blade came from. I have a hunch that he made the blade, or a god or some other great spirit gave it to him. But it's only a guess."

Scarlet crossed her hooves. "Well... I've read books on that sword. How many demons it slain, how much justice was dished out from that dangerous sword. But none of the books told of where it had came from, and some of 'em ain't even mentioned who owned it either."

"I'm surprised that there's any books on it at all."

"Can't blame ya."

"So on other subjects, are you coming with us or not?"

Scarlet thought of her mother. "........Yeah. Let me go gather my things and I'll be back in a few."

"Thank you. Your doing Equestria a favor- a big favor."

----------

8:30PM

----------

Scarlet walked into her small cottage. "Weapons... Weapons... Where'd I put them darn things...?"

She trotted to a cabinet next to a dining table with a set of chairs. "Ah, the good ol' gun storage." She yanked open the doors and found her mother's hunting rifle, a reasonably long, bolt action rifle that appeared to have a short magazine. It had a wooden finish and metal compartments for the ammo to be held in.

To it's right was a platinum double barrel shotgun that had "Ol' Drippy" etched into the left barrel. "I hope grandpa won't care too much if I borrow his toy for a bit."

She took the holsters and strapped them on her back, then stowed the guns away as well, closing the cabinet in the process.

"What cha doin' Ms.Deputy?"

And elderly voice asked.

"......Goin out." Scarlet said quietly before turning around. "Listen grandpa I-"

"It's ok, I know Scarly. Can ya old gramps, Ol' Drippy, come along?"

Ol' Drippy was an elderly stallion who had a very pale blue coat, a short, shaggy white mane and tail, and crystal blue eyes. He had a 6-shooter holstered on his flank, covering his cutiemark.

He appeared to look somewhat insane.

"Why grandpa? Your not exactly... um... Fit for going out like this, are you?"

Drippy looked at her crazily. "Don't judge me cause I'm old lil philly. These bones may be dated, but I'm still in my young ol' years. You should know Scarly!"

She sighed. "Guess your right. Gear up and meet me outside, I got some ponies lined up for our little journey."

"How can I? You stole my toy."

She smiled. "You were always the observant one." She gave him the platinum shotgun.

"Thank ya. Now let's get movin'! I'm tired of sittin' around knittin ya little brother sweaters!"

---------

8:40PM

---------

"Who's that?" Optix asked.

"My grandpa."

Drippy sized up Optix, looking at her from all angles with only one eye. "Hmmm..."

She stepped back from him. "Why are you looking at me like that?"

Drippy formed a magnifying glass out of ice and looked at her military boots. "Hmmm... Hmm.... Ok, just checking."

"For what?"

"For who you are." He broke the glass. "Your a tough pony. One who'll do stupid stuff in battle but find a way to survive with a new victory. And the green one here is a pony who may appear as weak but actually has crazy potential. Am I right?"

They both nodded.

"Called it. Anyways, names Ol' Drippy, and I'm one of the few unicorns in our family. Your names?"

"Optix."

"Grassy."

"A pleasure. So where we headed?"

Optix banged her tank. "Ponyville, a pretty large town north of here. Me and Grassy lives there, but we came out here to lay low from any forces Chrysalis may have out there. We came here from the Crystal Empire. I was going there because I wanted in on the action that I heared was going on there. And, well, Grassy was..." She sighed.

Grassy looked annoyed. "And that's our reason for being here. Can we not talk about what I've been through anymore?"

"Sorry..." She said. "Erm, anyways, hop in the tank, and keep your guns loaded. We may encounter trouble on our way to Ponyville."

Chapter 3 : /A Plan\

12:30AM - Tuesday

Plains of Equestria

Miles of Road to Ponyville

-----------

Grassy was driving the tank since it was his turn. Everypony else was resting in the back of the hull in sleeping bags.

Grassy ran over a boulder. "Oh geez! This thing is kinda hard to control!"

"That was my rock!" A mare exclaimed.

"Huh?" He stopped the tank and climbed out of the hatch. "Hey... You seem familiar."

"I know you. Your Grassy. I can't believe you don't recognize me." She said with no emotion. "I'm Maud Pie, Pinkie Pie's older sister."

"Oh yeah! How have you been?"

"Depressed."

"I think I know why."

"Precisely. I heard of what happened to Pinkie and her friends. At least your okay. Are you going to get revenge on Chrysalis?"

"Yes. I have other ponies with me too. You can get to know them while we ride to Ponyville in this tank."

"Okay. And another thing... I want to help you all on your quest."

"We need all the help we can gather. I've seen how you care fore stones... And also smash them to bits. I bet Chrysalis will be like that too soon enough."

"Yes." She replied as she climbed in the tank.

----------

4:30AM

Ponyville - Ponyville's Junkyard

----------

Optix was now driving on her turn.

The tank pulled into the Junkyard through newly built chainlink gates.

Optix rose her voice. "Ok everypony, look alive! We arrived at our location!"

Everypony was startled out of thier sleep.

"Sorry my little ponies, but I had to get you all a wake up call!"

Grassy was rubbing his eyes. "We're here? What's that surprise that you talked about yesterday?"

Everypony jumped out of the tank.

"Simple. Behold!" Optix pulled out a black, square remote with a huge red button in it's center. Then she pressed it.

Drippy laughed. "Ha ha! It's one of them remotes from the movies! They're usually linked to bombs or somethin'! Woah!"

The ground began shaking immensly, similar to a rather huge earthquake. Everypony fell over.

A colossal vehicle towered over them in the back of the junkyard. It appeared to be an airplane.

It was a colossal, quad rotor cargo plane that had the most ridiculous paint job. It looked as though somepony took a dozen spray cans of different colors and showered it in a cascade of colors.

Grassy's jaw dropped. "W-w-what is that!?"

Optix took her urban helmet off and sniffled. "It's my prized cargo plane, the MLP CP-556 super carrier! It has enough room and power to carry all my fancy weapons, including my tank!"

Drippy looked confused. "What does all the letters in it's name mean?"

She grinned, pleased with herself for building such an enormous vehicle. "It stands for: Mastadon Lifter Plane! CP means.... Uh.... I don't think it actually has a meaning does it...? But anyway, the numbers at the end are there to make it's name sound cooler! Every military invention needs numbers in their name, right?"

Grassy scratched his head. "I may not be a soldier, but I'm not sure if that's entirely true... A lot of things have been invented in the past, and plenty of them doesn't have numbers in their names."

Optix strapped her helmet back on. "Then that means the military never invented them! Ha!"

They both laughed.

Optix cleared her throat while giggling somewhat. "Alright... Since we're in Ponyville, I bet some of you Appleloosans would love to check this place out. And Grassy, you can chill out too. I'll move some of my toys into the plane. You all could do with a bit of rest anyway."

Grassy nodded. "Yeah... Thanks Optix. Something did come to mind that I should be doing anyway."

"Alright. See you when you get back."

4:40 AM

Sweet Apple Acres

The Barn

-----------

/I need to find out if the CMC came back here. Hopefully they're okay./ Grassy thought.

He approached their club house. It still had the metal platings Star Dust installed instead of the casual wooden walls.

Grassy spoke just loud enough for anypony inside to hear him. "Hey... Are you three in there? Scootaloo? Sweetie Belle? Applebloom?"

The metal door opened slowly. Applebloom stood in the door frame. "Who's there...?" She gasped. "G-Grassy...? You're alive?"

He smiled. "Yeah... Where are you friends? I need to know that you all made it out alive."

"Yup. They're both sleepin' on the floor. Come inside."

They both entered the clubhouse, the door shutting behind them. Then, they both sat on the floor. Applebloom woke Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle.

"Graasy!" They both said happily.

Scootaloo looked worried. "I remember Alliby telling us to get out of there... Where did you all go?"

"To the Crystal Empire. Queen Chrysalis had us fooled thinking she was an ally to us."

"Are you all okay?"

"Only I'm okay..."

"What do you mean? What happened!?"

"Do you really want to know...?"

Sweetie Belle grabbed him and shook him crazily. "Tell us! We don't want to not know!"

Grassy sighed. "She... She killed Thunder Storm... Crimson Blade... Alliby... Cloudet... And... Star Dust..."

Scootaloo broke down. "Wha-what...? No! No!! It's- it's not possible!" She began weeping intensely. Sweetie Belle and Applebloom joined in with her mourning.

Grassy broke a tear. "I'm sorry... I wish I could've done something but... I was a coward. I sat back and let THEM die like that, without lifting not a single hoof in their protection! But... It's good that I hid from the face of danger..."

Scootaloo rose her voice.

"Why would that be good!?"

"Because I... I have a chance. A chance to save what's left. I have a power hidden in me... We all have something hidden in us... Something that can destroy Chrysalis once and for all! And I'm gonna unlock it. Come help me do it."

The CMC looked at eachother, considering his request.

Scootaloo looked at him. "Why should we?"

"For Star Dust and the others."

Scootaloo crossed her hooves. "........Fine."

"Thank you. Twilight and her friends were captured by Chrysalis. We have to help them too."

Applebloom gasped. "Applejack!"

"Exactly. And your sister too, Sweetie Belle. Rarity was taken."

"What can we do though? Chrysalis is really strong!"

Grassy stood. "Then we'll have to devise a plan to put her in her place."

Scootaloo shrugged. "Then you better have a plan cause I don't have anything and I'm pretty sure nopony else here does either. Do you know how tough she is? Do you know how she fights? Any info on her at all?"

Grassy stayed silent.

"Just as I thought." Scootaloo said. "We'll go with you, but we're not doing a suicide run. Make a plan!"

Grassy shut his eyes in contemplation. " We need to muster enough power together to at least weaken her at its worst...... We need the help of the Princesses."

Sweetie Belle gave him a confused look. "If Chrysalis captured them... And killed a few ponies in the process, what's stopping her from doint that to Celestia and Luna and-"

Grassy put his hoof on her muzzle. "Chrysalis loves making elaborate plans to take down her foes. She has a use for them I bet. I need to go to Canterlot. Who knows, maybe she has them holed up there."

"But why so far away?" Applebloom asked.

"It's worth checking" He replied. "C'mon, hopefully we can find them there." He used a Teleportation Spell to cut the trip short.

-------------------

5:00 AM

Canterlot Castle

The Royal Hall

-------------------

They appeared in The Royal Hall, where the thrones of the Princesses were.

Grassy adopted a small smile. "Good to know Canterlot is being built back still. Looks like they restored the castle first before everything around it. Something feels... off about it though. I don't know if it's because it's empty in here...?"

"Is... is somepony there...?" A fatigued voice faintly announced.

Grassy looked in all directions of himself. "Sounds like a mare's voice... Celestia? Luna?? Are you here?"

Scootaloo knocked on a door to thier right. "I think they're back here!"

Grassy tried the door, but it appeared to be jammed. "Dang, how're we supposed to open this door?"

The door was made completely of metal, making any physical blows to it nearly pointless.

Grassy grunted. "Who put this door here? It looks so out of place... not to mention I don't remember this thing being here in the first place." He formed a Root Spear and pierced the door with it. After a few seconds, the spear took root in the door and slowly started cracking it until it fell to peices. "Alright, we're in."

The room was extremely dark to the point of being pitch black.

Applebloom was becoming slightly scared. "Why's it so dark in here?"

Grassy held the CMC together. "Dunno, but watch your step." He casted an Illumination Spell. "What the... Huh, the light doesn't reach too far... this darkness is unnatural. Good thing the room isn't too big.... Ah!"

Grassy gasped.

Celestia and Luna were locked into chairs with magical chains.

".....!" Everyone was shocked to see them in such helpless states. The princesses seemed to be barely conscious.

Grassy dispelled the chains with little difficulty. Then he picked them both up. "Are you two okay?"

Luna could barely speak. "A...art ye Grassy...?"

"Yes, in the flesh. I gotta get you two better or else all of Equestria is really done for!"

He took them out of the room and laid them on the floor. "Don't worry Luna, you and your sister will be okay. Here's a little trick I've been practicing, waiting for the right time to use it!"

He began charging magic furiously. His energy causing the castle to shake somewhat. "Haaaaaaaaaa! Gaah!" His muscles began flexing with great force. Then, a clear liquid started seeping through his coat. "Grrrrrrrrrrr....!"

Applebloom was baffled by his actions. "Woah! His hooves are huge!"

Grassy fell to the ground, panting heavily. "Oh my Celestia... that was a little painful... here... Luna... eat this."

Luna looked disturbed. "What... is that?"

"My glucose. It's what I use to feed myself and heal injuries. Of course, it stays in me for that to happen, but I can make it come out so I can heal others with it. Please eat it..."

Luna hesitantly at the glucose from his hoof. Afterwards, she jumped up, feeling completely revitalized.

She bowed to him respectfully. "I am gracious to thee. Please, make thine other Princess healthy once again."

Grassy nodded, then crouched next to Celestia who appeared to be unconscious.

"C'mon Celestia... Wake up. We need you here." He rubbed the glucose on her tounge, and she awoken.

Celestia blinked repeatedly, trying to regain focus in her eyesight. "W-where... where am I? Luna...? Grassy...? A-and what... is that sweet taste in my mouth...?"

Grassy smiled. "Your quite distorted, Celestia." He brought her up on her hooves.

Celestia chuckled faintly. "Yes, indeed. How did you find us...?"

Grassy shrugged. "I figured it would be worth checking here in the Canterlot Castle. And the metal door gave it away sort of."

"It does look horribly out of place. I see you've had no trouble getting through it."

"It was fouls' play. But I have to ask, what are you two doing here? I figured Chrysalis would have something planned for you both."

"She did... she wanted our alicorn magic, but it seems she took higher priority towards something else. Do you know what it is by chance?"

"Not exactly. But she captured Twilight and her friends including Robons. Only reason I'm still here is because I was hiding. I seemed to be the only one who knew we would lose inevitably."

"Don't tell me Alliby was with you..."

"...I have terrible news of his fate and Star Dust, Crimson Blade... Thunder Storm and Cloudet..."

Luna had a depressed expression. "Art thou suggesting that thy Honor hast died including his kinsman?"

Grassy took a deep breath. ".........They have. They are dead..."

Celestia slumped over Luna's shoulder. "This can't be! I thought the brave fool to be invincible! He's never been defeated like this once in his life! He always fought higher opponents than him, even though it may have been foolish to do so! I grew up with him... him just being born minutes after I was... we had a natural affinity for eachother... he always protected me. When it came to the safety of me and the things I loved... he was always there for me. He never failed to protect me, not once! And he gets overpowered by Chrysalis... It's incomprehensible! He's faced threats higher than her before!" She began weeping.

"Sister," Luna started. "You have never broken down like this. Chrysalis feeds off of such low emotions. Stand mighty, Princess."

"Hoe can I!?" Celestia shouted. "How can I, when the only husband I had in my whole life, is gone?"

Grassy hugged her tightly, including Luna. "Alliby can get crazy at times, but he's a calm hearted warrior who is, on the other side of the token, furious enough to defend his home, freinds, and family. He knows how to control his emotions, even in his darkest hours. That's because he knows his enemy can exploit his weaknesses made present by anger, sorrow, you name it. That's why he keeps calm, and only bears a smirk on his face in combat. Celestia, you must pull yourself together. You are the next most powerful source of magic next to Luna and me. Don't let Chrysalis take control of your mind. She already has god-like power as is. I can feel it from here, all the way from the Crystal Empire!"

Celestia wiped her eyes. "C-Cadence!"

"Worry not Sister," Luna said reassuringly. "Cadence is here with her husband, Shining Armor."

"Oh..... good."

"Seems that Chrysalis put all of the Princesses here on purpose." Grassy said. "But why?"

"Chrysalis said we were a stain on her new royal title, and disposed of us like trash." Luna said. But it appears she didn't want our magic that badly. Seeing as she left us to rot."

"That was her mistake." Grassy said confidently. "Because it will mean her downfall."

"What do ye suggest as thy plan? What role shalt we play?" Luna asked.

"You, Celestia, and Cadence will give me your Alicorn Magic. Then, I will go find my hidden source of power in Castellia, a country just north of Equestria. Once I do that, all I have to do is attack Chrysalis with a plan."

Luna nodded. "It could work. Shalt we summon Cadence so we can give ye the Magic?"

Grassy nodded as well. "Yes."

---------

5:10AM

---------

"Is everypony ready?" Grassy asked.

"Yes." They all said.

"Ok... let's do it!"

The Princesses focused all of thier magic into Grassy. He shined bright white as he seemed to be transforming.

What could be made out from his white silhouette was his mane. His ponytail grew nearly twice its normal size and had some some of the many characteristics of the Princesses manes, including thier flowing nature. His tail also grew in size.

The Princesses fell to the floor, weakened by thier lack of magic. Celestia's and Luna's manes no longer flowed with beautiful sparkles in them, and no longer did they flow like water in mid-air. Instead, they were still.

The white light cleared.

"I feel... so different."

Celestia stood. "You look so... much like us.

"Your power is also different too." Cadence said. "This may just be enough to kill Chrysalis!"

"No." Grassy said quickly. "It's not enough. Although your power is great, especially when combined, I must pass the limits of a god if I want to beat her. That's where her power is at this point. And, without Alliby and the others around, that won't be an easy task to be sure. But, I still require your assistance. It's too risky for any of you to stay here, as it's likely that Chrysalis will dispose of you all knowing that yout weakened. Come with me to Ponyville."

"Aye." Luna said.

Ponyville

Ponyville's Junkyard

------------------------

Optix was tweaking one of the propellers on her cargo plane.

"I hope Grassy gets back soon. The planes almost ready to fly." Optix said.

Grassy and his group appeared a small distance away from her.

"Hey Optix." Grassy said. "Is the plane ready?"

Optix shook her head. "Give me a few minutes. I gotta put the plate back over the engine. I can see you brought the Princesses here, too. Not to mention some fouls too."

"Yup." He replied.

"And why do you look so different?"

"It's a long story. I'll tell you all about it when we hit the skies."

"Gotcha. Just chill out for now, you look a bit tired."

"I could use a nap. Wake us up when the planes' ready to go."

"Won't be long."

Chapter 4 : /The True Power of Nature\

6:00 AM

Wednesday

Castellia

The Skies

-------------------

Optix began speaking through earpieces she distributed amongst her passengers.

"Okay everypony! We arrived at our destination; Castellia!"

Grassy dashed a look towards her. "Hold on a second... where are we gonna land!?" He asked crazily.

Optix sat silent.

"..............Oh no."

She began laughing nervously. "D-d-don't worry! I have the best place to land this baby!"

He gave her an even more confused expression. "Where!? Are we gonna land in the lush forests of Mother Nature's Domain!?"

"Sounds like an idea!"

Grassy flailed his hooves insanely. "No, no, no! Don't try that!"

"Okay Mister Smart Stallion, where am I supposed to land!?"

"I don't know! Your the pilot here!"

Optix grunted loudly.

"Your the one behind the joystick!" Grassy shouted.

"Calm down, will ya!?" Scarlet said. "This arguments' gettin' us nowhere!"

"I agree." Maud said.

"Fine, fine!" Optix said. "I'll find a way to get us down... hey! That's a forest clearing! It looks large enough to land!" She pushed down on the joystick, and landed the plane rather roughly.

"Phew." Everypony said as they left the planes' hatch.

"Are you sure your a good pilot?" Drippy asked.

Optix frowned. "I bet you never seen a plane in your life!"

"That may be true, Missey! But at least I'll know where to land before going on a flight!"

"Oh! Your gonna get it you old-"

"Calm down!!" Grassy shouted to the point where his voice echoed in the forest.

"I came here to find my hidden power.... not to foulsit children!"

Everyone became silent.

"That's more like it. C'mon, we're not too far away from Mother Nature's Domain."

The forest was lush, trees around every corner. Vines hung from the trees, and the cries of distant animals could be heard. The sun was barely cracking daylight, but rays of it's life-giving energy still pierced the leaves.

Up ahead was an ancient tomb with vines growing along it's walls and trees taking root in the rocks.

"There it is." Grassy said.

They trotted over to the tomb. Colossal wooden doors gaurded the inside. There was a magical aura coming from them.

"It appears to be locked." Optix said. "Let's try... this!" She pulled out a grenade made from a plastic green cup and hairpins. She pulled the pin, and tossed the grenade at the door.

"Pretty sure it won't work." Scootaloo said.

"It's worth a try! Cover your ears!"

Everypony shoved their hooves in their ears and the grenade exploded. The doors appeared to be unaffected by the blast.

"That sucks." Optix said, disappointed.

"Let me take a look." Grassy trotted to the doors. "....It's some kind of Sealing Spell..."

"You may be able to break it." Celestia said. "But it depends on how much magic was put into it."

"Maybe Mother Nature will just let me in if I ask. Hey, Mother Nature?"

"Who draws near my domain?" A mystical voice asked.

"The warrior of your make. I request your assistance. Can you help me?"

"Yes."

The doors opened slowly.

"That was easy." Optix said.

"Easier than throwing... whatever that was."

"It's a fragmentation grenade, or 'Frag' for short!"

"I see. C'mon, let's not keep her waiting."

6:30 AM

Castellia

Mother Nature's Domain

--------------

The tomb looked extremely old, perhaps an millennia. How is it still standing?

"It's a pleasure to be seeing you again, Mother Nature." Grassy said, bowing to her respectfully.

Mother Nature was an Alicorn mare with a long, luxurious mane and tail made of vines and leaves. Her eyes were emerald green and her cutiemark was the earth. She had a fair amount of vines around her hooves. She looked very natural and majestic.

"A pleasure to see my most faithful warrior once more. What do you request of me?"

"Equestria's in trouble." Grassy started. "I'm dealing with a god-like enemy, and I require power....I need you to unlock my true potential. The power hidden in me is what I need."

"Queen Chrysalis is who you are readying yourself to face?"

"How'd you know?"

"Gods and Goddesses recognized her unstoppable power as soon as it spawned. We are hardly able to contain it. I don't see how my energy could make much of any difference."

"We have to try. We can't let Equestria burn under her hoof!" Grassy said.

"....Very well." She said. She stood up, and slowly walked towards him. Then, with a tap of her hoof on his forehead, she became one with him.

Grassy shined white once again. His mane and tail become even longer, and his horn grew in size, as well as his wings. His wooden armor developed extra plates, and his greatsword widened and increased in length. His body was surrounded by branches and leaves. His greatsword had roots covering the hilt and the blade. His eyes became smaller and sharper, and he had a dark green aura about himself.

Grassy looked up slowly.

"You... are now Father Nature, Grassy." Mother Nature said.

"Splendid..." His voice became slightly deeper. "Chrysalis... your end is here."

He suddenly vanished in a flash of green light along with everypony else except Optix, knowing that she had to fly her plane back to Equestria.

Chapter 5 : /A Swift but Deadly Battle\

6:30 AM

The Crystal Empire

Crystal Castle

--------------------

Everyone appeared in front of the Castle. The Crystal Empire was grim, and the bright crystals that made up the empire were cracked and corrupted. Trees in the area were dead, and birds that lived there previously were corrupted as well. They looked like bats.

Grassy starred at the once crystal doors. "Time... for you... to die.

The CMC cheered him on. "Go get her Grassy!"

Each step he took restored the Crystal Empire back bit by bit. The trees came back to life, the birds were turned back to normal, and the crystals were restored.

As he slowly walked towards the Entrance Hall of the castle, he felt an immensely evil black magic, the feeling getting stronger as he drew closer to it.

He held is hoof up, and a green energy formed. Blasting the barriers down to gain entry, he stepped inside at a steady pace.

"Knock knock." He said in a low tone.

Queen Chrysalis was sitting on the throne of the former princess Cadence. It was surrounded by Snapping Vines and black tree roots. The Keep itself was no different. It has been forsaken by her energy that stretched beyond the comprehension of the gods themselves.

Chrysalis laughed. "Ha! How did I not know you were going to come back? I had a feeling I missed a pony when I exterminated your weak friends!"  She stood, then magic started surging around her. It was rainbow colored instead of her traditional green.

Grassy frowned. "They are not weak. You simply had the element of surprise backing you."

"Perhaps so. Either way, I finally killed him... Alliby, my long standing rival. Now I am the strongest!"

"You've done all of this... just for revenge. Do you know nothing of how many lives you ruined for your own selfish desires?"

Chrysalis chuckled. "I do, but I could care less. Did you really think I was your ally?"

"For a time. But I never really trusted you."

"I give praise to you for being so skeptical of me. Why? Because you seemed to be the only observant one out of your lot besides Thunder Storm! But, the fool didn't see it coming, did he? And besides, beings like me are always scheming behind ones back. I find it entertaining when ponies suspect something of me."

"You're twisted." He said.

Chrysalis grinned. "I'm not twisted... I'm pure genius, especially when compared to you degenerates."

"You certainly have a big mouth."

"Every villian should make snarky comments, don't you agree?"

"This is not a story, Chrysalis."

"Oh, but it is! It's our story! A tale written by our fates, the future! Our lives are scripted... it just may not seem like it a first. Of course.... we can go off set."

Grassy frowned harder. "Then let's see who's the better actor."

He charged straight at her at neck-breaking speeds. Unsheathing his sword, he attempted a quick, but strong attack on her, but she vanished as soon as his blade appeared to hit her.

She appeared behind him. "I'm right here." She kicked him through the tower into the royal bedroom.

Grassy shook some rubble off of his head. "Ah... Dang, she's pretty fast. I need to come up with something to use against her before I'm too powerless to even manage to scratch her."

He broke an even larger hole in the floor, charging her at his best possible speeds.

"That's it, charge me like a bull!" She challenged.

<No, she has a trick prepared for me. Time to exceed her expectations...> He thought. He instantly went left almost as soon as he reached her face.

<What is this fool doing?> Chrysalis thought, confused at his sudden turn of strategy.

He recotheted off of the wall, flying past her at blinding speeds. "High Winds!" He shouted. A huge gust of wind overtook Chrysalis, blasting her through the wall of the castle.

She crashed upon the ground, slightly dazed from his inhuman strength. <Gah...! How can this be...? I have the power to bend the very existence of this universe, yet Grassy can overpower me?> She thought.

Grassy landed a few feet from her, and began walking slowly towards her. "Time for you to meet your end." He said in a grim tone.

Chrysalis picked herself up. "I will give you some degree of praise, Grassy. You had me on the ropes for a few moments there, but don't get used to it. This is but a warmup to the real hell that you will experience!"

Grassy seemed unaffected by her threat, merely smiling at it instead. "Heh heh heh... I don't suppose you won't make quick work of me?"

Chrysalis shook her head. "Ohh, no. I've planned on killing you much quicker than this, but it seems your far more skilled than your late friends." She said with a small, evil grin.

"I'm just as skilled as everypony else." He said.

"Then you'll die just as fast as they did!"

"No... I won't. I have different tricks than they do. No amount of training can prepare you for what I will demonstrate here in this fight."

He went after her, then performed a series of rush attacks. Then, he delivered a finishing blow, launching her backwards. Afterwards, he began charging magic, readying his follow up attack. "Prepare yourself!" He shouted as he gave chase again. Once he reached her, he delivered 4 punches then kicked her away again. "Time to die!" He exclaimed, chasing her one last time. He smashed her into the ground, then charged magic into his hooves. "You won't walk away easily from this one!" He drilled the ground with a volley of magic blasts, then threw one large magic sphere into her, causing a spectacular explosion.

After the smoke cleared, Grassy witnessed Chrysalis standing in a rather large crater. She was clutching her right hoof. "You... you fool! Do you really think I'd be fazed by that!?"

Grassy chuckled. "You seem quite injured actually. Don't try to play it off, it's obvious you're having trouble dealing with me."

"....!" She snarled at him. "What fodder! I can handle you just fine! I've much more magic than you!"

"The amount of energy you have does not necessarily determine the outcome of your battles. It's how you use it that counts more than anything."

"Then, allow me to show you what I can do!" She began to gather darkness in her hooves. "Let me just destroy you quickly! Don't worry, I'll make it as painful as possible!" She formed a Orb of Black above herself. It was the size of the Crystal Empire's castle! "Any last words, you pathetic patch of weeds!?"

Grassy gasped. <Damn! If that attack hits, everypony in Equestria will be screwed!> He thought.

"I'll turn you into mulch!"

<Oh sure, make a stupid pun out of my name why-don't-you?> He thought.

She threw the Orb straight down at him. "Don't block this, then you'll be obliterated! See you on the other side!"

"Haaa!" He shot a huge green beam at the orb, but the orb absorbed the attack. "What!?"

"This is pure darkness! A type that cannot be casted away by light!" Chrysalis said.

"No! I gotta think of something! ....Gr... I... I gotta do it! It's the only way!" He sniffled. "I....I love you...Fluttershy....please...forgive me for this..." He charged directly at the orb.

"What is he doing?" Chrysalis said. "Hmph, whatever. Saves me the work of killing him."

He absorbed the darkness. His body seemed tainted afterwards. His breathing also seemed quite abnormal.

"That magic is eating you alive! Have fun dieing slowly!"

"Not without you dieing with me." He said in a low tone.

"W-what?"

He punched her through her chest. As the darkness began to overtake him, he began breathing his last words. "This....... is for everypony.....!" His voice faded away as his body combusted into black flames and caused an explosion that could be seen miles away.

They both died in their final encounter.

Upon Chrysalis's death, purity came back to Equestria. All traces of her darkness were removed. And....the ones she killed were brought back.

Conclusion

7:30 AM

Outside of the Castle

-----------------

Star Dust was pounding the ground in sorrow. "W-what do you mean he died!?"

Scarlet took her hat off. "I'm sorry lil colt. Grassy's gone. But he sacrificed himself to save Equestria. He paid the ultimate price to bring about peace in this country."

Star Dust shifted back to his normal form. Once a changeling, now he has returned to his normal self; White coat, short blue mane and tail, and yellow eyes. His wings disappeared, leaving him as a normal unicorn.

Alliby hugged Star Dust and Fluttershy as they cried in his coat. "Scarlet is indeed correct. He... he was an honorable pony. He was a social pony, one who wasn't too quick to show his limits of his power. He was the type to hide his energy.... until his friends were in danger..." Alliby bowed his head down.

Crimson Blade was shouting to his lungs content. "This isn't fair! Why'd it have to be him!?"

Thunder Storm could barely contain himself. "This.... this sucks dude..."

Celestia hugged Alliby and kissed him on his muzzle. "May his ashes be scattered across the land to bring about new plants and life to Equestria. We will forever remember him as if he was right here with us."

Mother Nature approached the mourning group. "One of my few faithful knights have fallen... the world scarcely feels the same without him. I shall embrace his soul in my Natural Heaven. He will live amongst the animals and plants he fought to save... thank you all for taking care of him. Ponies of his origins hardly receives respect." She vanished to her Domain.

Alliby took a deep breath. "I know we are still in mourning, but our journey is far from over. We must still deal with Deathtress, the Queen of Souls. We will rest for a few days, but we must get moving to Metallia. If we don't slay her soon....

Chaos will continue."
