Chapter 1: Who are you?

Who are you?

The night was like any other that Luna prepared, a beautiful sight. The silence of her night was something she always loved. It was what she wanted other ponies to appreciate all those years ago. But now after her return she had finally realized that one of the reasons why they would sleep through her night wasn't because they didn't appreciate her. The reason was more so because of how peaceful her night would be. At least that's what Tia kept telling her.

Luna on the other hand since her return has stayed up continuously through the night. Playing "video games" online. She had gotten quite good at c.o.d and other games but Luna was never able to beat her gaming nemesis.

"Oh come on!"

The princesses frustrated outbursts echoed throughout the castle.

"Why can't I beat you!"

"Lulu can you please keep it down I'm trying to sleep." Celestia groaned as she learned her head into Luna's room.

Luna sheepishly liked over to her older sister. Removing her headset she went over to talk to Celestia.

"Sorry Tia, I just got so frustrated that I haven't been able to beat this colt."

Celestia gave her little sister a tired smile."It's ok Luna just try to keep it down." This earned a slight blush of embarrassment from the dark mare.

When she saw that she got her point across, Celestia went back to bed. Leaving Luna by herself in silence.

Luna walked over to her bedroom balcony to look at her work, to see if any areas needed some touching up to do. From her perspective every star was in place.

Actually no, not every star was in place. There was a small one  tumbling around.

Luna squinted her eyes and leaned up against the balcony railing." That's not a ...star."

Her own words surprised her, but it was the truth the distant light was getting bigger or closer. And the weirdest sound could be faintly heard coming from the object.

Luna turned to her bed side drawer and pulled out her binoculars. When she looked out the window again in the direction of the light it was gone. She relentlessly searched the sky with her binoculars. But nothing turned up. Closing her eyes she focused on listening.

  WHHOOP..WOOO...WHHHO...SHATTER... BANG!!

Her eyes shot open and her head snapped in the direction of the shattering glass. "The throne room." A wide smile formed on her face. " I always liked to find something new."

It didn't take Luna much time to reach the throne room, what she found was the windows broken. The carpet was on fire and on the far end of the hall there was a large blue box imbedded in the decorative pillars. Wide eyed she slowly made her way to the object in question.

"Police public call box?"

As if on cue the front doors burst open letting thick smoke bellow out into the great hall. Luna immediately tensed up. Curiosity, adrenaline, and anxiety were running rampant through her veins.

Through the smoke a silhouette slowly formed.

"Cough cough...cougHAA!"

A chestnut stallion crawled out of the box doing his best to not breathe in the smoke.

"Oh come on old girl what's wrong?" He stroked the outside of the box and stared at it like a concerned friend.

Then he froze staring at his hoof. His eyes were wide and his mouth hung open slightly. " I-I-I'm  a HORSE!"

Clearing her throat to get the stallions attention Luna lowered her head in a classic attack position.

"Who are you?"

"I'm a horse! Seriously! Oh look your a horse, no no no.. No. An Alicorn! Fantastic!..... Wait you asked me something?"

"Who are you?"

"Oh well I'm the Doctor."

"Doctor what?"

"If you like."

"Although I always loved it when people would say (doctor who?). But I guess I've never talked to an Alicorn before. To think that you exist, simply brilliant..."

"Why did you burst into the royal palace?" Luna stated to break the would be continuous ranting of the stallion.

Hearing this the Doctor looked at his surroundings more closely. More so at the broken pillar burning carpet and shattered windows.

"Oh so this is a palace huh? You've really let the pace go."

"Shut up that's your fault" For some reason that comment really got under hers skin. Probably because her original home is now ruins but that's up for speculation.

By this point Luna's posture was more relaxed but still ready to defend herself if need be.

"I ought to have you thrown into the dungeons for vandalism of the royal court.

"Yeah, probably. But you won't."

The Doctor and Luna started to circle each other in the throne room.

"And what pray tell would be the reason why I would not?"

"Because you are in great danger and you need me."

"What gives you that impression?"

"Well, I've made a lot of noise since I crashed here accidentally. Yet your the one here, the princess. Doesn't that seem peculiar to you? That royalty should be at the sight of possible danger.

"I came by my own accord."

"Yeah I'm not going to doubt that, but tell me this, where are all the guards?"

The room's temperature seemed to drop a few crucial degrees.

"What do you mean?"

"We are in a royal palace are we not. Sure it's the middle of the night but what castle doesn't have a night shift? Hmm. If that's the case why are you the only one here?"
