Chapter 1: The Siege and Prologue

The Siege and Prologue

"Your Highness!" Yelled one captain. "The door will not hold for long. We need to move deeper into the castle to have a stand against the legions!"

The door was getting more weaker every time the battering-ram hit the door with such force. The cries of warriors outside of the door and their lust for the end of the sun princess's rule. Barricades were placed on the door to give it more strength against the legions might.

"No!" Celestia ordered. "This is where we fight them, this is where we hold them from entering the castle for if this castle falls. We all fall"

"What's your commands?" The captain saluted with respect. Before Celestia could answer. The door was almost broken, letting the battering-ram's head coming through the door while seeing some of the legionnaires pushing the battering-ram.

"Gather your best guards and hold the line at all cost" Celestia commanded her captain. As soon as she gave her orders to the captain. The door was smashed into pieces, leaving the entrance under defended and opened for the legions. The sound of weapons drawn and battle cries echoed throughout the castle.

"For the holy moon and her legions!" Bellowed General Aura as he leaded 'her' legions towards their enemies, slaughtering the first line of royal guards with ease. Although some were stopped by the second line of guards, some legionnaires managed to push into certain halls while one of them was charing straight towards Celestia with a two-handed axe. When the legionnaire was nearly at the top of the stairs. Celestia blasted his head off with her magic, ending the legionnaire's life and made his lifeless body fell down the stairs.

"Hold that line at all cost, captain!" Celestia commanded one more time before the captain joined into the clash of swords and metals. Celestia watched in disbelief at how many there was of the legions. At first there was hundreds in the city, now there was more then a few thousands heading towards the castle.

Celestia then realise that if there was more of them. Then he here and worse... So was she. That means that they were here long before this siege began. She needed to find him and stop this siege while trying to reason with her one more time. She left her guards in hopes that they'll hold the legions from gain anymore holds in the castle and to find the heads of the whole legions.

As she walked away from the fightings, a pony shadow started to follow her.

Celestia went deeper into the castle, seeing more defensives being made for the incoming legions that can be still heard from where Celestia left the captain in charge of the door entrance's defensive. She knew that if her forces fall against her legions, eternal night will engulf all of Equestria. But if they could defeat her and him. The legions might just retreat and regroup somewhere else which will give her people time to rebuild what was destroyed from this awful war ravaging her kingdom's subjects.

Soon the sounds of painful and terrifying screams came from the throne room. Celestia rushed towards the screaming and entered the throne room... Only to see him.

Cysgod stood there with fifty dead ponies around him, blood and guts almost on every surface. He was clearing his swords on one of the dead ponies's armour and was chuckling to himself.

"That's what you get when you fight against the legions" He said to himself as he turned his head towards the door. Where princess Celestia watched in anger and horror. "You shouldn't of ignore our warnings, tyrant" Cysgod hissed at Celestia.

Celestia glowed her horn. "Arglwydd Cysgod of Parch" She spoked with anger. "You will answer for all the crimes you have made against the very world itself!"

"Gladly" Cysgod oddly agreed "But right after yours" He readied himself in a battle pose. "So, The Sanctaidd Lleuad will pure this world by releasing The Cleansing Eclipse against the Blighted Sun. And all will be free from your rule of blinding tyranny!"

After his speech was finished. Cysgod jumped in the air with his blades heading straight towards Celestia's neck.

Six years ago

"Please Sister" Luna begged "Can't we have the night last a little longer, only for a few minutes so that our subjects can see our beautiful work."

Celestia turned her head away from her little sister. "We've been though this before Luna" Celestia sighed "If we keep the night up too long, then our subjects will not be able to harvest their croups or food correctly. I've told this ten times already" Celestia got up from her throne and walked past Luna. "Now, I have a meeting with the Griffin King so I'll be leaving in a short while. Farewell sis"

After saying that. Celestia left the throne room all to Luna for herself. Luna lowered her head in defeat while a single tear escaped one of her eyes.

"Lies" Came a whisper in her head. "They are all nothing but lies, Luna. How could you just allow that to happen?"

"I can't stand up against my own sister" Luna answered.

"Yet she can?" The voice replied back. "She has been ruling for too long, perhaps it is time for a change in leadership?"

Luna rised her head in shock on what the voice had just said to her. "You want me to overthrow my own sister" She said in shock "It will take years and even then I'll need an army that'll willing fight against her" She said her next word with all of her courage left within her. "Never!"

"Don't you know That their kingdoms loves your night?" The whisper sinisterly said. "In fact, they see the moon as a sacred symbol in their culture and what do you think when they discover that you control it?" Luna did not answered. "They'll see you as a goddess of their moon and will fight in your name if you can gain their loyalty"

"But they hate ponies" Luna said. "Ever since Celestia stopped them on one of their holy trip to where our moon will shine the brightest. They haven't really forgiven us for it, even more on Tia"

"So take that advantage to get them to fight for you!" The voice shouted. "Make them fight in your name, overthrown Celestia and you'll be loved and your night will never be ignored anymore"

"She's my sister" Luna denied the whisper. "I'll never fight her"

"I know you won't" The whisper weirdly accepted. "So I'll have to overthrown two royals now"

Before Luna could acted. Her head began to feel like it was burning which caused extreme amount of pain for her. Dark magic started to cover around her. As soon as the dark magic slowly disappeared. A large black ailcorn with sharp teeth and blue reptilian eyes stood where Luna once stood with dark blue armour around her.

The being laughed. "Now to gain an army, an legion."
