The Mysterious Maiden Do Well 2: Hunted

First published

The Mysterious Maiden Do Well successfully saved Canterlot Town, but it appears that someone is not pleased. And that someone seeks revenge!

A while ago, President Sombra, the malefic CEO of Umbrum Corporation, was defeated by The Mysterious Maiden Do Well. And while Canterlot Town may be safe for a while, their silent protector is not; a man from beyond the ocean who is aware of the Maiden's secret identities hired the two best hitmen of the world to go after them. Is this the end of the nocturnal vigilantes?

1. A New Threat

The man with red skin and a nose ring walked down the corridor. The lights were off, so the only source of light came from the full moon shining through the many windows. That corridor wasn't designed for someone his size, so his overdeveloped biceps - completely exposed due to the lack of sleeves on his black shirt - were able to brush against both walls at the same time. The door at the end of the corridor was even smaller, but he managed to squeeze through it. Two people were already waiting for him in that office; the first he knew for a fact it was his employer, the person who asked him to meet him there. The second wasn't a person he expected to meet there, and wasn't exactly thrilled to meet again.

"You?!" he yelled while pointing at the woman with dark grey skin wearing a black, long dress and dark green stocking - the same color of her hair - which had several holes in the thigh area.

"You." she said with her arms crossed, not even giving him a second glance.

"It appears that you have already met before." the man looking through the window said.

"Yes, we... Go way back, to say the least." the woman said.

"Way back? You killed two targets I was hired to eliminate, then the ambassador I was hired to protect. My reputation was tarnished because of you!"

"Then I guess this means I am much better at this job than you. You should have retired decades ago, old man." if the smirk on her face was enough to anger him, the fact that she plucked a hair from his white beard made him furious.

"That does it! You're not walking out of here alive!"

"ENOUGH!" the man in front of the window raised his voice, making both of them focus their attention on him. "I called you here because you two are the best at what you do, but your childish rivalry can put this mission in jeopardy, so let's pretend this is the first time you meet. Agent Chrysalis, meet Tirek, the strongest and most experienced mercenary to be born in this world. And Tirek, say hello to Agent Chrysalis, the most competent spy of this generation, silent killer and master of disguise."

"Whatever!" Tirek said while crossing his arms. "Anyway, why do you need both of us? Like you said, we are the best at what we do, so wouldn't one of us be more than enough?"

"Exactly, Tirek. In any other situation, one of you would be enough. But this is no other situation! I called both of you here because this target is quite capable for her age. Or, should I say, their ages?"

The man finally turned around and opened a drawer on his desk. Inside that drawer were two files, which he placed on the desk. Tirek opened the first file, which contained the picture of a teenage girl with orange skin, aquamarine eyes and red and yellow hair. The second file was opened by Chrysalis, which contained a picture of another girl, around the same age as the other; this one had light blue skin, lavender eyes and white hair.

"Meet miss Sunset Shimmer and miss Trixie Lulamoon, the ones you are going to hunt down for me."

After a quick glance at the page containing their personal information, Tirek raised an eyebrow.

"Canterlot Town? Why would a king of his own country want two high schoolers from the other side of the ocean dead?"

"Let me answer your question with another question: have you ever heard the name 'The Mysterious Maiden Do Well'?" Tirek shook his head, but Chrysalis nodded. "The Mysterious Maiden Do Well is, for the lack of better words, a hero. But what her admirers don't know is that their nocturnal protector is not one person, but two! And I have a bone to pick with both of them. They are a thorn on my side that halted the progress of my country; a thorn that I'd like to see surgically removed by the best doctors." the man then hit the ground twice with his walking cane. "But enough time has been wasted already! You can finish reading the files later on the plane, becuse now I want you to pack your bags and grab your stuff. We are going to Canterlot Town!"

* * *

Miss Cheerilee was known for her punctuality; always in class before any of the students. If she wasn't there, then the only plausible option was that something had happened. The boys and girls were already coming up with theories:

"Maybe she just overslept."

"I could agree with you if we were talking about some other teacher, but it's Miss Cheerilee we're talking about, so, no!"

"Maybe an accident happened and she's stuck in traffic."

"Miss Cheerilee lives three blocks away from here. She doesn't own a car, she walks!"

"Maybe she's just sick."

"She would come anyway. Remember when she sprained her ankle, but came to school anyway? That woman has guts!"

All the conversations suddenly halted when the door opened and Principal Celestia walked in.

"Good morning, students!" she greeted.

"Good morning, Principal Celestia." they all said in unison.

"Today I bring bad news and good news. The bad news is, Miss Cheerilee's sister suddenly fell ill, and it appears to be very severe, so she'll be staying with her in the hospital for a few days."

"Poor Miss Cheerilee's sister..." one of the girls said.

"But the good news is, Miss Cheerilee asked a good friend of hers to replace her for a while. Students, give Miss Cadence a warm welcome!"

"Actually, the correct name is 'Cadenza' and, please, call me Professor Mi Amore Cadenza."

A woman they had never seen before entered the classroom. She had light pink skin, a long hair with three different colors - the colors being pink, violet and cream - and bright purple eyes. Her clothes were very simple, just a dark pink skirt and a hot pink shirt - not exactly an outfit that shouted "professionalism" but, since she was just a temporary teacher and Cheerilee seemed to trust her, Principal Celestia allowed that.

"Yes, forgive me. As I was saying, class, this is Professor Mi Amore Cadenza. They were classmates in college and Cheerilee assured me that she is very competent. I hope you will all get along!"

"Oh, we will. Believe me, we will!" Cadenza looked at her students - two girls in particular - with a smirk on her face.

"Well, you seem eager to start, so I'll just take my leave. Drop by my office later and tell me how things went. Have a good day, class!"

"Goodbye, Principal Celestia, and have a good day yourself!" Cadenza said with a smile as Celestia left the classroom. "Good morning, class. Just like Principal Celestia said, I am Professor Mi Amore Cadenza and I am going to replace Miss Cheerilee for a while. I hope we can all get along!"

The students started whispering among themselves, all of them seemingly pleased with their new teacher.

"Oh, and one more thing before we start." Cadenza added. "Will Miss Sunset Shimmer please raise her hand?"

A slightly confused Sunset Shimmer looked to the seat besid hers, where her friend Trixie was. Trixie shrugged, so Sunset shrugged as well and raised her hand.

"There you are. Principal Celestia informed me that you are the class representative, is that correct?"

"Yes, I was elected recently." Sunset said.

"Good, good. So, could you stay for a while once classes are over? I know I won't be staying here long, but I'd like to know all I can about the school. I promise it won't take long!"

"Sure! Of course."

"Thank you! Now, class, open your books on page 42."

* * *

"Well be waiting for you outside." Trixie said as she left the classroom, soon followed by Aria, Adagio and Sonata, who waved at her as she closed the door.

"So, Professor Mi Amore Cadenza, what would you like to know about Canterlot High?" Sunset Shimmer asked as she walked toward the teacher's table. "I can give you a tour around school if you want."

"No, that won't be necessary." Cadenza said as she shuffled through her handbag. "I just want you to do one thing for me."

"Yes, what is it?"

"Sleep!"

In less than a second, Cadenza retrieved a small bottle from her handbag; it looked like a perfume, but it had no label. But before Cadenza could spray its content in front of Sunset's face, the teenage girl slapped the bottle away from her hand, which shattered once it hit the floor.

"Why did--" Sunset looked at Cadenza's face; she was smirking. Sunset glared at her. "You're not a real teacher, are you?"

"What tipped you off?"

Sunset Shimmer tried to throw a left hook, but Cadenza blocked her attack. The teacher immediately grabbed Sunset by the wrist and twisted it behind her back, immobilizing her.

"So, will you come with me nice and quietly or do I have to drag you there? Either of them is fine with me!"

"You did something to Miss Cheerilee, didn't you?"

"I needed to get in here somehow."

Sunset Shimmer wrapped her right arm around Cadenza's head, then threw her across the room, knocking over a few chairs. It didn't do much damage, though, and she got up again immediately. That's when Sunset noticed the multicolored wig she was holding, used to conceal Cadenza's real hair color: dark green.

"So we got ourselves a fighter here, huh? But this does not surprise me. After all, you are the better half of The Mysterious Maiden Do Well!"

"H-How do you know that?"

"I am a woman of many talents." Cadenza said as she locked the door. "So don't expect me to go easy on you, girlie!"

Sunset Shimmer stretched her arms and assumed a fighting stance.

"Have at thee!"

Cadenza chuckled. "So be it!"

Sunset struck first, aiming at her face, but Cadenza avoided the punch by ducking. She then countered by kneeing her in the stomach, followed by two punches, one on each side of Sunset Shimmer's face. The girl was dazed, but she managed to grab Cadenza's foot before she could kick her chest. Unfortunately, Cadenza was more capable than she anticipated - her assailant kicked Sunset's face with her free foot, forcing the heroine to let go of her and fall to the floor. She got up with some difficulty, but by the time she was standing again, Cadenza was no longer in front of her. She gasped when she felt something pierce the skin of her neck.

"Like I said before, sleep." Cadenza said as she injected the content of the syringe in Sunset Shimmer's bloodstream, who soon lost consciousness.

* * *

"What's taking her so long?" Trixie asked as she paced around the statue that, once every 30 moons, turns into the portal to Sunset Shimmer's former home, the magical land of Equestria. "Professor Mi Amore Cadenza said it wouldn't take long."

"Beats me!" Aria, who was sitting in front of the statue with her back pressed against the closed portal entrance, said with a shrug. "You know how she gets when she starts talking about Canterlot High. She's probably showing Professor Too-Much-Pink the schedule of all the games the Wondercolts will be playing this season by now."

"Or maybe they met the Rainbooms and they're now playing her a song or two." Adagio suggested. "Sounds like something she would do, don't you agree?"

After that small conversation, they resumed their activities: Trixie went back to walk back and forth, Aria went back to filing her nails and Adagio went back to watching the different kinds of people walking down the street - this time it was a homeless person wearing a thick coat and pushing their shopping cart filled with junk.

Sonata, who was sitting on the back of the stone horse and pretending she was a knight, suddenly stopped moving while staring at nothing in particular.

"Trixie, look out!" she yelled as she jumped from the back of the horse and on top of Trixie, who fell on the ground just in time to dodge the big, red fist that would have hit her on the back of the head if Sonata hadn't intervened.

"Nice job, kiddo!" Tirek said. "But I won't let that happen twice."

Tirek grabbed Trixie's leg while she was still down and threw her away. Trixie landed on her feet, ready to strike back.

"You shouldn't fight back. My employer ordered me to bring you alive, but he gave me permission to remove a limb or two in case you did not cooperate."

Trixie grabbed a smoke bomb from her pocket, but as she was about to throw them on the ground, the mercenary grabbed her by the wrist before immobilizing her.

"Leave Trixie alone!" Adagio yelled as the three sirens ran toward him, ready to fight. Tirek simply smiled.

"Too slow!" he said as he used the smoke bomb Trixie was holding moments ago. The smoke screen was thick and the Dazzlings started coughing.

"D-Don't let - cough - him get away!" Aria said while trying to shield her face with her arm.

"I can't - cough - hear - cough - them!" Sonata said.

Adagio managed to get out of the cloud of black smoke, but when she looked around she couldn't see neither Trixie nor the man.

Author's Notes:

So, I completely forgot this old laptop sitting in my wardrobe, collecting dust. It's not the best option (it lacks the "?" key, I have to Copy and Paste it all the time) but it's the only option.
I would call this a sequel, but this fanfic is not very long, so... Enjoy your DLC, horse-women fans!

2. Held Captive

Tirek carried the unconscious Trixie on his shoulder to an abandoned warehouse next to a port - the same port where the Maiden threw a truck that was supposed to deliver a shipment to Umbrum Corp. in the ocean a while ago.

"Hey. Backstabber!" Tirek called. "Are you here yet?"

"You watch your mouth." Tirek looked around and saw a person wearing a thick coat, hood, gloves and boots; that person was also holding a shopping cart.

"Who are you? It doesn't matter, you made a huge mistake coming here." Tirek was about to unsheathe his machete when the mysterious person removed the hood, revealing her pink face and green hair.

"You shouldn't appear before me wearing a disguise, Backstabber." he said while letting go of the hilt of his machete. "I could have cut your stupid head off."

"You wish you were good enough to kill me." Agent Chrysalis said as she removed her fake pink countenance, revealing her real, dark grey face. "And I see you accomplished your mission. Congratulations, old man!"

"I am your senior, you should treat me with more respect, brat. Besides, I don't see your target anywhere!"

"Oh, please!" Chrysalis said as she kicked the shopping cart, making it fall over and spill all its contents, revealing the unconscious Sunset Shimmer buried under the pile of trash.

"No, please, not them!" a third voice pleaded, a voice that belonged to a woman tied to a chair, a woman known by many as Miss Cheerilee. "You can do whatever you want to me, but please, do not harm any of my students!"

"Listen here, luv." Chrysalis said as she grabbed Miss Cheerilee's chin. "Unlike that brainless pile of muscles, I only kill those I'm paid to." Tire didn't reacted to being called names because he was busy at the moment, tying the girls to the beams of the warehouse while talking on his cellphone. "I mean, what if I kill for free someone I would be paid thousands of dollars to kill a couple of years later? You already served your purpose, so sit there quietly and we will release you once everything is over, but if you don't shut your big mouth right now, grandpa over there might lose his temper and I cannot guarantee your safety."

Cheerilee closed her eyes, thinking back to when she was forced by them to lie to her boss.

~ ~ ~

"I am really sorry to hear that." Principal Celestia's voice coming from the cellphone pressed to her ear by Tirek said. "But this happened so suddenly, I don't think I know anyone available to take your place your for the week."

"Oh, that's a shame..." Cheerilee said. Her eyes widened when Chrysalis pressed the barrel of a gun to the her forehead. "Bu-But you d-don't have to worry a-about that. Y-You see, I believe I know someone who is available. H-Her name is C-C-Cadenza, we-we were g-good friends in college a-and I can assure you, she is very, very capable."

"Hm, I don't know... I mean, hiring someone I never even met before? If the superintendent--"

"I-It's only for a few days, P-Principal Celestia. J-Just give her a chance, y-you'll be surprised with what she's capable of."

"Alright, alright, I'll trust your judgement, Miss Cheerilee. But please, ask her to be in my office tomorrow at least one hour before classes start. Luna and I would like to meet her first. You understand, right?"

"P-Perfectly understandable, Principal. I-I'll call her right away."

"Hope your sister get well soon."

"Th-Thank you. Goodbye!"

"Good--" Tirek ended the call before Celestia was done talking.

"That was much easier than I anticipated." Tirek said with a smile.

"I know right?" Chrysalis said while putting the gun back into the holster. "I met many gullible people in my life, but never that gullible."

~ ~ ~

"But... But I saw your faces." Cheerilee pointed out. "Doesn't that make me a possible threat?"

"Luv, I'm a master of disguise and Tirek is wanted basically everywhere! You knowing our faces is useless information."

Miss Cheerilee was about to say something, but a moan coming from the left distracted her; Sunset Shimmer was waking up.

"Where... Where am... I...?" Sunset asked, still a little half asleep.

"Impressive!" Chrysalis said. "I injected in you enough tranquilizer to knock out an fully-developed adult for the best part of a day. For a teenage girl like you to snap out of it in a matter of hours..."

"Yes... Wait, yes, you did that!" Sunset said, now more aware of her surroundings. She then started struggling. "Let me go, you jerks!"

"Give up, miss. This ropes are too thick for someone your size!" Tirek said as he finished his call. "And Backstabber, I just talked to King Discord, he's on his way."

"King... Discord?!" Sunset asked, surprised. "Discord, the general who led his country through many successful wars until he founded his own country, Congeria, 40 years ago?"

"Well, someone's been paying attention to those history classes." Tirek said with a smile as he crossed his arms. "I don't know what you did to piss a historical figure like him off, but he's coming to get you!"

"I'm sorry, Sunset Shimmer." Miss Cheerilee said.

"Miss Cheerilee?" Sunset was surprised to see her teacher there. "So that's what happened to you..."

"If I hadn't lied to Principal Celestia about my sister, they wouldn't have--"

"Don't worry about it, Miss Cheerilee. Those guys are professionals. With or without your cooperation, they would have found a way to get me. I mean, they got Trixie, and she was probably outside already."

They then heard a ringtone, and it was coming from Agent Chrysalis' cellphone. She answered it immediately.

"Yes?" she was silent as the person on the phone talked. "Understood! I'll be there." she then ended the call.

"Was it him?" Tirek asked.

She nodded. "He'll be here in a matter of minutes."

"Already?"

"You know how crazy that driver of his is." she said as she kneeled in front of the still unconscious Trixie, then tapped her face a few times - not strong enough to hurt, but strong enough for her to feel. "Hey! Wake up!"

"H-Huh? What?" Trixie said as she woke up.

"King Discord wants you awake." she stood again and walked toward the exit. "I'll go welcome our employer. You keep your eyes on them, Tirek."

"Do you think I'm some kind of amateur? I've been doing this since before you were born!"

Chrysalis chuckled as she left the warehouse. The moment she closed the door, a dark green, almost black limousine parked in front of the building. Agent Chrysalis rushed to open the door of the vehicle and a man stepped out.

Discord was a wrinkly old man with beige skin, disheveled white hair and beard, and wearing a dark cape on top of his general uniform. Due to his old age, King Discord walked hunched and with the help of a walking cane and kept his eyes mostly closed.

"Welcome, your majesty." Agent Chrysalis said with a polite bow. "Your 'guests' are waiting for you."

"Good, good. Thank you agent." he then turned to look at his driver. "This won't take long, but don't keep the engine running. Gas is too expensive in this country!"

"Aye aye, sir!" the driver - a girl with pink skin, white and purple hair, violet eyes with swirly irises and a black suit that gave her a professional look, which was completely shattered by the propeller hat she was wearing - said with a salute.

Agent Chrysalis closed the door of the limousine. The moment they turned their back, they heard a thump. Chrysalis turned around and saw the last thing she expected standing on top of the limousine:

The Mysterious Maiden Do Well.

Chrysalis facepalmed and sighed. "Tirek, you had one job! Please, go inside, your majesty. I'll handle this!"

King Discord did as he was told and slowly walked toward the warehouse with the help of his cane. He pushed the door open and entered the building. He raised and eyebrow when he looked around and saw both Trixie and Sunset still in there.

"Tirek, could you please go outside help Agent Chrysalis?" King Discord asked. "It appears that we have some unexpected company."

"Gladly!" Tirek said as he punched the palm of his hand on his way out.

"So, you're the guy, huh?" Trixie asked. "People usually say 'nice to meet you' when they meet someone for the first time, but in your case, I'll just say 'go to hell'."

"So rude, Miss Trixie." he said.

"I was kidnapped by your lackeys, I have the right to be rude!"

"What do you want with us, anyway?" Sunset Shimmer asked. "And how do you know about the Maiden?"

Discord smiled. "I believe you are acquainted with a certain man called President Sombra?" Trixie's eyes widened and Sunset glared at him. "We were what you people would call 'business partners'. Sombrero and I met years before Congeria was even a blueprint, and in the battlefield, no less.

"We were at war with a country Sombra had his eyes on for a long time. Apparently, there were rumors that the country had a very powerful artifact that Sombrero wanted, but the country had a very strong policy against outsiders, so he showed up in our camp one day with a deal I just couldn't refuse:

"I'll help you win this war. All you want in return is you to help me get in there."

"And then he showed me things that I would never believe if I hadn't seen with my own eyes. Using nothing but the items he had in his bag, Sombra could conjure fire out of thin air, destroy things without even touching them, make people accept anything he said as a fact, even if went against their ethics... There was nothing Sombrero couldn't do! And there was no way I would turn down his offer!

"No sooner said than done, our side won that war. While my subordinates were too busy celebrating, Sombra and I, together with some men I knew I could trust, went into the ruins the locals said the relic was located. Long story short, my men were killed by the many traps and I got separated from Sombra. Unfortunately, sometimes rumors are just rumors, and the relic wasn't there for probably ages. Of course, that wasn't the last time Sombra and I met. The last time was a few months ago, when Sombra visited me personally."

A memory flashed in Sunset Shimmer's head, from when Sombra had kidnapped Sonata Dusk and Aria Blaze and Adagio Dazzle was begging for their help.

"He went on a business trip! He usually has people to do this kind of job for him, but I heard him say that he is particularly interested in forming a partnership with that country, so he went in person this time."

"We had a deal! Sombrero was going to move the Umbrum Corp. HQ to Congeria, where he would be protected by our laws. My army would be the most powerful, and my country the most influent. That's it, until the Maiden Do Well stepped in, killed my partner and ruined my business."

"And how do you know we're the Maiden?" Trixie asked.

"My spies in Umbrum Corporation. What, do you think I'd just start an alliance without some snitches in his midst? Oh, please..." King Discord reached to his holster and pulled a revolver. "But anyway, you two ruined my plans one time, and that's one time too many. We have a saying in Congeria: 'if there's a stone in your way..." the king pressed his gun to Sunset Shimmer's forehead. "...destroy it'!"

Author's Notes:

I would have released this chapter sooner, but I got REALLY sick...

3. Operation R.E.S.C.U.E.

The cloud of smoke finally dissipated completely. The three girls were so surprised by the scene they just witnessed that they didn't even knew how to react.

"What... What just happened?" Adagio asked as she looked around, trying to spot the large man and their comrade.

"I think Trixie just got kidnapped." Sonata said as she scratched her arm.

Aria punched her own palm. "Well, whoever that guy was, he just dug his own grave. No one messes with any of my partners!"

"Aria, let's scout around, they couldn't have gone far." Adagio ordered. "Sonata, go find Sunset Shimmer. Tell her what happened, then you two scout around as well!"

Sonata saluted her and dashed toward Canterlot High. Aria and Adagio nodded at each other then ran in different directions. Inside the school, Sonata went straight to the classroom, but it was empty. She searched throughout the whole school; the cafeteria, the library, the dressing room, the toilets, but no Sunset Shimmer was found.

"Maybe she already went home." Sonata pondered as she left the school building. "That's weird, though. Why would she leave without talking to us first?"

* * *

The sun was about to set when they reunited in front of Sunset Shimmer's apartment, Sonata being the last to arrive.

"Where's Sunset?" Adagio asked while looking left and right.

"She's gone!" Sonata said. "I looked everywhere, not only in school, but everywhere I could. Sugarcube Corner, the houses of her other friends, but nothing."

"Do you think that guy got her too?" Aria asked.

"It's a possibility." Adagio said as she rubbed her chin.

"So, is this a job for The Mysterious Maiden Do Well?" Sonata asked with a smile.

Adagio used the spare key to Sunset Shimmer's apartment she was given for safekeeping and unlocked the door - they went straight to the bedroom. Adagio opened the wardrobe and grabbed two cardboard boxes, one with Sonata's name and the other with Aria's. She threw the boxes at the girls, who grabbed and opened them; there was a Maiden Do Well outfit inside each box.

While the two girls changed their clothes, Adagio sat down on the chair in front of the computer with three monitors and turned it on.

"You're not coming with us?" Sonata asked as she put the mask on.

"You two go ahead, I'll catch up with you later." Adagio said as she pressed the keys with inhuman speed. "I'll hack into the security system of Canterlot Town and check if any of the cameras picked up something unusual!"

"Got it!" Aria said with a deeper voice due to the small voice-changing device they all had in their masks. "Meanwhile, we'll scout different parts of town. Sonata, you go north, I'll go south!"

Sonata let out a very low-pitched giggle. "Your voice is funny!"

Aria sighed and facepalmed. "You're still the worst, Sonata. Let's just go!"

Adagio grabbed the headset and put it on. "I'll keep you two informed. Keep your earpieces on!"

Sonata and Aria nodded and turned their earpieces on before opening the window, checking if there was no one outside and jumping out. Adagio stretched her arms, popped the joints of her fingers and went back to typing at the impressive speed of over 200 WPM.

Over the years she's been stranded in the human world, the continuously advancing technology surrounding the Dazzlings piqued her interest. Her ability to learn basically anything with ease, combined with an experience with machines that most people of that generation did not have, made Adagio a computer expert and a very capable hacker, an ability she now used to help her friends from behind the curtains every time they were working on a case that required more than a simple scouting mission to be solved.

"I'm in!" Adagio mumbled to herself as several windows popped up on all three screens, each window containing the recording of a different camera from several parts of town. "Time to work."

* * *

"I got him!" Adagio said. "Girls, he's in the port. Went inside Warehouse No.13 not even five minutes ago! He was carrying Trixie on his shoulder, and the possibility of Sunset being in there as well is high."

"I'm close to the port!" Aria's voice, which sounded normal through the communicator, said. "Meet you there, Sonata."

"Okie dokie!" Sonata answered.

"I'm going as well. I'll be there in two shakes!" Adagio placed the headset on the table, removed her everyday clothes and put on her Maiden outfit before jumping out of the window.

Meanwhile, right outside Warehouse No.13, Aria Blaze watched from behind a container as a dark green limousine parked in front of the warehouse. A woman wearing a black outfit with a design similar to the Maiden's, but without the cape, mask and hat, opened the door of the vehicle, allowing an old man to step out.

"It's now or never!" Aria took a deep breath and ran toward the scene. When she was close enough, Aria jumped, landing on top of the limousine.

The woman with green hair facepalmed and sighed. "Tirek, you had one job! Please, go inside, your majesty. I'll handle this!"

The old man did as he was told and slowly walked toward the warehouse with the help of his cane.

"Alright, which one of you is under that mask, the one Tirek brought or the one I knocked out?" the woman in black asked. "Either way, you're going back to sleep." Aria tried to kick her, but the woman dodged with ease. "Not as fast. I guess you're not the one I fought, then. Figures! That old man can't do anything right!"

Aria jumped down from the roof of the car and kept attacking, but the woman just dodged; she didn't even try to block, because Aria's punches and kicks were too slow for her to cause her any problems. The lack of response from her opponent made Aria angrier, which made her blows stronger, but even slower. Chrysalis smirked and, after dodging one more move, she hit Aria in the stomach with her knee.

Aria got the wind knocked out of her, but she tried to retaliate anyway. Unfortunately, she had no time to recover and got kicked in the stomach, followed by punches to the face and an oppercut. Aria fell to the ground. Chrysalis chuckled as she pulled a switchblade from her belt.

"Now, are you going to surrender or do I have to remove fingers until you do?"

Chrysalis suddenly crouched, just in time to avoid being kicked from behind. She quickly spinned with her blade, but her assailant was quicker than the one on the ground. Chrysalis raised an eyebrow when she saw a second Maiden standing there, ready to fight.

"Another? But I thought--" Aria successfully tripped her with a sweep kick, but as the other Maiden was about to punch her, Chrysalis backflipped and she punched the empty space where the agent used to be.

"I can handle this, go and save them!" the second Maiden said. Chrysalis only heard a low-pitched voice, but Aria heard her real voice in her earpiece; that Maiden was definitely Sonata.

Aria nodded, got up and ran toward the warehouse. She was about to go inside when a large, muscular body blocked her path. Aria stopped before she slammed her face on his pectorals.

"How many of you bugs am I going to have to squash today?" he said before trying to punch Aria; she bent back just in time to avoid the blow.

"Hang in there, gramps, I'll help you as soon as I'm done over here." Chrysalis said as she tried to cut Sonata several times with her switchblade, but her target avoided all of the slashes flawlessly. "Try not to die before-- Stop twirling around like a goddamn ballerina!"

"I can handle one measly teenage girl, thank you very--" Tirek clutched his nose and groaned in pain after Aria spin-kicked his face. Aria groaned as well, but in annoyance because she didn't knocked him out with a single hit. "What is that boot made of? Lead?" Aria tried to punch him in the stomach, but Tirek grabbed her forearm, stopping her attack. "You're going down, little girl!" he tried to punch her face again, but she countered his attack by punching his fist with her free hand. They both felt the impact all the way up to their shoulders, which forced Tirek to let go of her and squeeze his shoulder in pain.

"How did you do that?" Tirek asked, genuinely surprised. "To counter a punch of mine like that... How strong are you?"

Aria didn't answered, she just looked up. "Anytime now."

Tirek looked up as well, just in time to see the soles of the boots of a third Maiden Do Well, who landed on his face, backflipped and ran inside the warehouse.

"You tricky little..." Tirek said as he rubbed his face. He shook his head, then unsheathed his machete. "Anyway, where were we?"

* * *

We have a saying in Congeria: 'if there's a stone in your way..." the old man said as he pressed a gun to Sunset Shimmer's forehead. "...destroy it'!"

Adagio grabbed King Discord's wrist and forced him to point his gun up. "I won't go easy on you just because you're old. Especially when you threaten my friends like that!" She elbowed his ribs. The old monarch let go of the gun, yelled in pain and fell to the ground.

"Cold as ever, I see!" Sunset Shimmer said with a smirk.

"Oh, you're not fooling anybody. Stop trying to act tough, I know for a fact you almost pissed yourself!" Adagio said as she moved to the back of the beam and tried to untie the ropes. "What kind of stupid rope is this? It's as thick as my forearm!"

While Adagio struggled to untie the rope, Discord grabbed his walking cane lying beside him. He removed the handle of the cane and pushed a button concealed underneath it, detaching the part of the cane that served as a sheath for the hidden blade.

"WATCH OUT!" Trixie and Cheerilee yelled at the same time. Adagio ducked immediately, which caused King Discord to miss the attack and get his sword stuck in the wooden beam.

"I guess you'll have to hang in there a little longer." Adagio said while grabbing a rusty pipe that was lying on the ground as Discord pulled his sword out of the wood, now standing straight, no longer having to pretend he was just a hunched, frail old man. "I have to deal with this guy first!"

"You shouldn't underestimate me just because I'm old either!" Discord said as he tapped the medals he had. "I didn't won these medals by sitting behind a desk in some dusty old office. Friendly advice: you should yield, or you're gonna die!"

"And let you kill my friends? Over my dead body!"

"If that's your wish..."

King Discord didn't wasted another second and immediately started swinging his sword. Adagio was straining a bit to block all of his attacks with the lead pipe, but she could handle it.

For a while.

Back outside, Tirek finally managed to imobilize Aria from behind, pressing his machete to her throat.

"There's no escape now!"

The sound of thunder caught the mercenary off guard, and that was exactly the opening Aria needed. She used all the strenght she could muster to headbutt his chin, making him loose his grip on her. He tried to cut her before she escaped, but the only damage he managed to cause was a little cut on her right arm.

Aria didn't gave him a chance to recover and immediately grabbed his wrist as tightly as she possibly could - which was extremely tight. The pain was too much for Tirek to bear and he dropped his machete. Aria grabbed his wrist with both her hands and threw him against the wall of the warehouse, making a huge crack on it even though it was made of concrete. The impact was so powerful that the mercenary lost his consciouness.

The fourth Maiden looked at Sonata, who was still dodging each and every one of Chrysalis' attacks. She was about to go and help her when she felt her clothes getting wet. That's when Aria finally noticed it had started raining. She chuckled and crossed her arms as she watched them.

"That old hag doesn't stand a chance now!"

"Stop it so I can gut you like a Cornish game hen!" Chrysalis said.

Sonata had noticed the rain a while ago, so she had her eyes closed, focusing on her hearing, paying attention to the sound of every raindrop falling on the woman in front of her. It was like time had slowed down; after all, Sonata's hearing was much better than her eyesight.

The sound of water was guiding her moves now. Instead of dodging the next slash, which was all she could do while relying on her vision alone, this time she grabbed Agent Chrysalis' arm and altered its route, forcing Chrysalis to miss. The agent was surprised for a moment, but she kept attacking. Sonata, on the other hand, kept forcing her to miss over and over again, all while paying close attention to the rhythm of Chrysalis' breathing:

Breathe in, breath out, in, out, in, out, iiiiiin...

Sonata smirked. That slightly longer inhalation meant that her opponent was getting tired, and it was the signal she needed to strike back. She grabbed Chrysalis' arm one more time, but this time she kicked her in the ribs, making her assailant gasp in pain. Sonata then unleashed a barrage of punches, all of them hitting her target.

"METEOR OF PEGASUS!" Sonata yelled as she kept punching Agent Chrysalis. She tried to protect herself, but the Maiden was too fast for her, so Chrysalis wasn't able to block more than one hit.

Sonata finally stopped, breathing heavily. Chrysalis stood still for exactly five seconds before falling to her knees, still conscious, but just barely.

"The correct name is 'Pegasus Ryƫsei Ken'." Aria corrected, approaching her partner with her arms crossed.

"But I liked the dubbed version!" Sonata said.

Aria huffed. "You are the worst, Sonata."

"H... H... How?" Agent Chrysalis asked.

Aria chuckled. "You want to know? Sure, why not? It all happened back when a guy called President Sombra kidnapped us. Before he dropped us in tanks like we were his goldfishes, he did some tests with us, exposing our bodies to all kinds of liquids, fumes and magical artifacts that eventually awakened some of our dormant Siren genes. That's what we are, by the way! Anyway, the gal who just whooped your sorry butt here got her hypersensitive hearing back while me, on the other hand..." Aria punched the confused Agent Chrysalis in the face, throwing her a few feet back and finally knocking her unconscious. "...got my muscles back!"

"Woohoo, we rock!" Sonata said while raising her hand. Aria complied and gave her friend a high five.

"Adagio sure is taking her sweet time." Aria pointed out while looking at the warehouse. "Do you think she's in trouble?"

"Dagi? In trouble? You know she's better than that!"

"I think we should check. Y'know, just to make sure!"

Sonata shrugged and both walked toward the building.

* * *

Adagio payed a lot of attention to King Discord, until she noticed a pattern: he would always swing left and right once, then after five swings with a pattern that changed every time, he would fake an attack from above just so he could attack from below. She decided to use this to her advantage.

Left-right, then up-left-left-down-right.

Just as King Discord was about to fake an attack from above, Adagio swinged the pipe and hit his hand. The pain made the king drop his sword. The Siren then kicked him in the chest and Discord fell down. She grabbed the sword and pointed it at him.

"You lose!" she said.

"Everything under control here?" Aria asked as she and Sonata walked in. Adagio looked at them, which gave King Discord the perfect opportunity to retrieve a golden ring from his pocket and wear it. Discord got up as soon as the red gem on the ring started to glow.

He then started to laugh.

Author's Notes:

Not gonna lie, this chapter took longer to be released because I just couldn't come up with a good way for the Dazzlings to locate the villains' hideout without sounding "too good to be true"; after all, they're the Dazzlings, they don't have a Pinkie Sense to rely on.
Well, Sonata has super hearing, but that doesn't mean she can hear a needle falling on a rug thousands of miles away!

By the way, does King Discord remind you of someone?
Well, he should!

Did I mentioned that I'm a huge Ace Attorney fan?

Anyway, stay tuned for the epic conclusion!
I warned you it was going to be short.

4. The Ultimate Combat [FINAL]

Adagio Dazzle had no idea what King Discord was up to, but she wasn't taking any chances and prepared to attack him. But before she could land a blow, Discord simply raised his hand. The siren suddenly stopped, unable to take a step closer no matter how hard she tried. Before she could ask herself what was going on, she was pressed against the wall; Adagio tried to move, but it was like she was completely paralyzed from the neck down. Sonata tried to help Adagio while Aria rushed toward him - both were also thrown against the same wall, unable to move like their bodies were glued to it.

Once Discord was done dealing with the three girls, his body began to change: an antler horn and a blue, twisted horn sprouted from his head, the sclera of his eyes turned yellow, his nails grew longer and sharper, as well as his right canine, and he grew a red snake tail with a tuft of white hair on the tip.

"Remember when I said the relic Sombrero and I were after was gone? Well, I may have found it before him and shoved it inside my pocket." he approached Sunset Shimmer and raised his hand again, but this time to show off the jewelry on his finger. "After all, he already had so many of these artifacts, why not have one of my own? And I couldn't have asked for anything better; once I put this on I feel so young, so energetic, so..." he took a deep breath. "...powerful!"

"You look hideous, though." Sunset said.

"Hmph! A little price to pay. Besides, it's not permanent. I just need to take this off and I'll be handsome again!"

"Then take it off."

"Nice try, little girl, but no!" he turned to look at the Dazzlings. "I still have unfinished business."

A soft clink noise was heard, followed by a muttered "Crap!" Discord raised an eyebrow and walked toward Trixie - he noticed that the thick rope around her wrists had been partially cut. The king squatted and grabbed a tiny scalpel that was lying on the floor behind her.

"Well, well, well. Trying to go somewhere, dear?" he got up and pressed the blade to Trixie's throat. "A clever plan, to use my moment of distraction to cut your binds. Too bad you're clumsy and your plan failed!"

"You're wrong, actually." Trixie said with a smug grin. "The plan wasn't for me to free myself while you were distracted. The plan was for me to distract you!"

Sunset Shimmer grabbed King Discord's shoulder, turned him around and punched him in the face.

"You better believe, I got tricks up my sleeve~!" Sunset Shimmer sang as she proudly twirled her own scalpel between her index and middle fingers.

"That's copyright infringement." Trixie said with a frown.

"You call that a punch?" Discord asked as he got up again, dusting his clothes.

"Well, you fell down!" Sunset pointed out.

"I just lost balance, that's all. You're not that big a deal!"

"Then the next punch is gonna knock you out for sure!" Sunset clenched her fist and prepared to attack him again, but Discord simply raised his hand. It felt like she was running against the strongest gust of wind ever created - so strong that she could barely move. The king grinned evilly.

"There's nothing you can do, Maiden Do Well." he said. "This battle was decided the moment I put the ring on." Sunset Shimmer wiped the grin off his face by taking a step forward. It was the second hardest step she had ever taken in her life - the first being her first step as a human being - but she did it. Discord groaned, then increased the power. Sunset was pushed a few feet away from him, but she was still standing strong and far away from the wall, unlike the still trapped Dazzlings.

"You call this magic?" she said with a smirk. "My magic was stronger than that when I was in magic kindergarten!"

Discord kept trying harder to push Sunset Shimmer away, but she just kept getting closer, one step at a time. When she was finally close enough, she reached her hand and grabbed his ring, which began to glow brighter. Discord laughed.

"Fool!" he said with an evil smile. "You feel for my trap! When the ring is activated, whoever touches it besides the person who is wearing it dies immediately!"

The red glow of the ring turned golden, which confused King Discord. The golden glow then surrounded Sunset Shimmer's body completely.

"This... This has never happened before! What is going on?"

Sunset's body absorbed the golden energy coming out of the ring, which caused changes to her body, similar to Discord's, though not quite the same: she grew a pair of pony ears and a tail, but unlike when she transformed during the Battle Of The Bands, her tail wasn't an extension of her hair, but an actual tail sprouting from her lower back, sticking out from under her black leather jacket. Another major change to happen to her body was the unicorn horn protruding from her forehead.

She raised her hand to touch her horn with the tips of her fingers. She closed her eyes and sighed in happiness when she felt magic flowing through it once again since the last time she visited Equestria.

"I missed you a lot!" she said, her eyes still closed.

"Wh-What is the meaning of this?" Discord yelled. "Normal humans die when they touch my ring! You're supposed to be dead!"

"Let me tell you a secret, Your Highness." she said, opening her eyes as her horn started to glow green. "I am not a normal human!" the same green glow surrounded King Discord's body as Sunset lifted him from the ground with her magic.

"And you were right, you know? This battle really was decided the moment you put the ring on. You might have had a chance against me if you were using your sword or your gun. A small chance, but a chance nonetheless. But now that I can use my magic in this world? You no longer stand a chance! I was Princess Celestia's personal student, the strongest unicorn of my generation. You're just an old geezer who stumbled across some nice jewelry!"

"You talk too much." Discord said as he assumed a fighting stance. "Now face me!"

"In mortal combat." Sunset added as she assumed a fighting stance as well.

Since Trixie, Aria, Sonata, Adagio and Cheerilee were all still trapped, they could do nothing but watch as their ally fought their enemy. Physically, their capabilities were equal; each one of King Discord's strikes were blocked and countered by Sunset Shimmer, and vice versa, but their magical capabilities had yet to be compared.

"You may have had more years than me to practice, but your harness your magic like a weapon." Sunset said. "But my magic is a part of me. My magic is who I am! And you cannot beat me."

"That we shall see!" Discord tried to punch her one more time, but Sunset held his fist in place with her magic. She pulled him closer to try and kick him away, but he used his magic to erect a barrier between her foot and his stomach, then used his free hand to punch her in the stomach.

"Knowledge is good, but experience is always better!" he tried to hit her again, but Sunset pushed him away with her magic. Using this opportunity, she charged an offensive spell: she shot a beam of green energy from her horn, which Discord countered with a beam of red energy from his ring. The two beams clashed in the middle, each trying to overpower the other. Sunset struggled, but Discord smiled, unfazed.

"What's the matter, Maiden?" he asked. "Can't keep up? I thought my experience was no match for your raw talent! But what's this? You try your hardest, yet I still have the upper hand!"

Sunset Shimmer chuckled. "Your magic may be powerful, but I have something far more powerful than it; something that you lack."

"Oh, really? And what is that?"

Sonata jumped on his back while Aria and Adagio immobilized both his arms.

"She has us!" Sonata said with her usual upbeat tone.

"She means friendship." Adagio corrected.

"You were trapped! All of you! How did you escape?"

"Like I said, your magic is powerful; but you lack finesse." Sunset explained. "You were so focused on defeating me that you lost focus on them. I was wrong. You can beat me. But I'm sure as heck this time: you cannot beat us!"

"How many wars have you won?" Aria asked. "You should know by now that true strenght lies in numbers!"

"I will not be defeated by a bunch of high schoolers!" using his magic, Discord floated a few inches above the ground and started to spin around at a high speed, forcing the sirens to let go of him. By the time was done gyrating, Sunset had already freed Trixie and both cut the ropes that tied Cheerilee to the chair.

"Take her to somewhere safe." Sunset instructed. "Things will get ugly here!"

Trixie, though saddened that she was being left out of the action, complied and ran out of the warehouse with their teacher.

"And where do you think you're going, Trixie Lulamoon?" Discord asked. "I have unfinished business with you as well!"

He tried to prevent their escape, but Sunset Shimmer prevented that by erecting a wall of flames between him and them.

"Get ready, Discord! I'm more used to channeling magic through this body, I can use my more advanced spells already!"

"Like a toddler learning how to stand!" Discord said. He then raised his hand, a movement that extinguished the flames. "But still no match for an adult like me."

"Adagio! Aria! Sonata! I need you to keep him busy for a moment."

"Got it!" Adagio said.

Together, Sonata and Aria tried to punch him at the same time, so Discord grabbed both their fists. Using that moment of distraction, Adagio tried to kick him, but Discord blocked her foot with his own. While they fought, Sunset channeled one of her most powerful spells, which she was unable to complete since Discord used Aria as a projectile, throwing her against the horned girl and breaking her concentration. He did the same to Adagio, but this time using Sonata as a weapon.

The girls weren't about to give up, though, so they kept attacking Discord; Aria and Adagio from the front, fighting his arms and legs, and Sonata from behind, trying to get past his always vigilant tail. Sunset restarted charging that spell while Discord fought his way toward her.

"Give up, Sunset Shimmer. You are merely buying yourself a few more moments in the land of the living. Your effort is worthless. Sooner or later, you will die by my hand!"

"Don't be so sure, your majesty!" Discord pushed all three girls aside and reached for Sunset Shimmer. He was about to grab her by the neck, but a vortex of flames protected her body. "Spell's done! Too bad! For you."

Sunset Shimmer emerged from the vortex. Her eyes glowed yellow and her hair and tail had completely turned into flames, but she didn't look to be in pain - in fact, she was smiling.

"Princess Celestia taught me this spell." she said. "She said she felt I was mature enough to learn it. Sadly, at the time, she was wrong. But I am ready now! And you're about to feel it. Girls, I'm thankful for your assistance but I really think you should leave."

"Leave? Why? And why now?" Aria asked, a little indignant but mostly confused.

"This spell is too powerful. I don't think this warehouse will be still standing after I'm done, and I don't want any of you to get hurt. Or worse!"

Adagio looked at Aria and Sonata. They all nodded and headed for the exit.

"Kick his sorry butt, Sunny!" Sonata cheered before leaving the building.

"All pointless, if you ask me." King Discord said while stroking his beard. "Once I am done with you and Ms. Lulamoon, I am most definitely going after them as well. But don't worry, my attention is all yours right now!"

Sunset cracked her knuckles. "Good! I wouldn't want you to miss a second of it."

Sunset pointed her horn at Discord, then cast a fireball barrage spell. Discord managed to avoid some and stopped others in place with his magic, but some of them landed on her target; the flames tore holes in his coat and scorched his skin, but the pain wasn't enough to slow Discord down, so he used his magic to merge all the fireballs he had collected, creating one massive fireball.

"Here's your change!" Discord said as he shot the fireball back at Sunset, who smiled as her fiery hair absorbed Discord's counterattack.

"Thank you, sir, may I have another?" Sunset asked with a cocky smile as the flames on her hair and tail grew larger.

* * *

Adagio, Trixie, Sonata, Cheerilee, Aria and Discord's driver were watching the warehouse from around 100m away, with Tirek and Chrysalis still unconscious and tied up next to them.

"What are you even doing here with us, anyway?" Aria asked the girl with the propeller hat. "Aren't you on their side?"

"I was feeling lonely inside that big, empty car!" she said with a smile.

"I think something is--" Adagio wasn't able to finish her sentence because flames erupted from all the exits of the warehouse; windows, doors, even the wooden roof was burned to the ground.

"Whoa, she wasn't kidding." Sonata said. "That was one mean spell!"

"Is... Is she...?" Trixie asked with a shaky voice.

"Nah, she wouldn't die on us like that." Aria said with a smile, pointing at the door of the warehouse.

Sunset Shimmer, who was using her magic to protect her and the man she was dragging by the cape from the flames, exited the building with a smile on her face. Trixie let out a sigh of relief. They all ran to meet her halfway.

"I don't think he'll be bothering us anytime soon." she said.

"So, do these come off?" Sonata asked, pointing at Sunset's horn and tail.

"Only one way to find out!" Sunset kneeled and removed King Discord's ring. Immediately, Discord's horns and tail disappeared, and so did Sunset Shimmer's, as well as her pony ears. "I guess that's a yes."

"Yeah, you look much better without those, anyway!" Adagio said and Sunset Shimmer giggled.

"You girls are... Are... You..." Miss Cheerilee said.

"Yes. We are!" Aria said, glaring at Miss Cheerilee and shaking her fist in a very menacing way. "And you better keep your mouth shut, or else--"

"Or else nothing, Aria!" Sunset said while lowering her friend's fist. "But we would really appreciate if you didn't told anyone, Miss Cheerilee! Things would get very complicated if our secret identities were exposed. The police would want to ask questions, the bad guys would go after not only us but our loved ones as well, and I don't even know Trixie's parents, neither how they would react!"

"More like 'overreact'." Trixie added.

"Uh..." before Cheerilee could give them a reply, they heard sirens of firetrucks and police cruisers approaching.

"Time to bounce!" Sonata said.

"Agreed." Adagio said, then each of the five girls ran in a different direction, leaving a confused teacher and the driver behind.

"And what do we do now?" Cheerilee asked.

"Do you even ask? We run!" the propeller hat girl grabbed Cheerilee's wrist and giggled as she skipped away with her.

* * *

All five girls regrouped in the apartment shared by the three Dazzlings, where they spent the night. The next day, they sat in front of the TV, waiting to hear news about the outcome of their last mission and what happened to King Discord and his lackeys.

"Yesterday was craaaaazy, huh?" Sonata said as she opened a soda can.

"Let's just hope it never happens again, ok?" Trixie said.

"Shhhhh, quiet, you! They're talking about it!" Adagio said, pointing at the TV screen.

The screen showed a woman next to a police car in front of the warehouse. It was no longer burning, but the scars from last night's incident were still there.

"The police has no leads on who caused the fire or what started it, but they believe that it has something related to another crime that took place here."

"Another crime?" Aria asked as she looked at Sunset, who just shrugged.

The image of the reporter was replaced with a mugshot of the mercenary Tirek.

"Last night, a murder ocurred in this same port. The victim has been identified a Tirek, a hitman and ex-marine wanted in dozens of countries for several different kinds of violent crimes, including kidnapping, torture and murder. The investigators believe that the possibility of the killer's identity also being the arsonist's identity is very high."

"He's dead?" Aria said, surprised.

"They didn't said anything about the spy lady or the king dude." Sonata pointed out. "Do you think they did it then skedaddled?"

"Oh, horseapples." Sunset said. "I knew I should have tied King Discord up before leaving!"

"What do you think he's planning to do?" Trixie asked.

"Probably planning on getting this back." Sunset said as she reached into her pocket and grabbed the magic ring that Discord had. "But now he knows that there's more than two Maidens, so all of you must not lower your guard. At any time!"

"I'm not sitting here and doing nothing." Adagio said as she got up. "I'm going back to Sunset's, to check if he was caught on camera."

"Wait, I'm going with you!" Sunset got up, then turned to face the other three girls. "We don't know who, when or where we might get attacked, so I don't want anyone going anywhere on their own, alright?"

They all nodded, accepting the new rule, so Adagio and Sunset left.

* * *

A few miles away from there, thousands of feet above the ocean, King Discord sat in his private plane, looking through the window.

"Those meddling kids will pay for getting in the way of my revenge." he grumbled. "Just you wait, Maidens. Next time, I'll come back with more than two poor excuses of a hitman and get the job done right." Discord raised an eyebrow when he noticed that his plane was losing altitute, and fast. "Hey! Screwball! We're flying too low, you clumsy fool."

The person wearing the pilot's uniform was not Screwball; it was the person he was sure he had shot a bullet through the heart: Agent Chrysalis.

"You?! Bu-But how?! I-I shot you!"

"I guess your hand was pretty shaky, because you missed my heart by a mile. Advice: next time, aim for the head. Except for the part that there won't be a 'next time'!"

"You... You..." Discord reached for his holster, but it was empty.

"Looking for something?" she asked as she dangled his gun in front of her face.

"Screwball, assistance, please!" he called, but no reply came. "Screwball, that's an order!"

"Don't waste your breath, she is not here. We left her in Canterlot Town. It's just you and me in here! Which makes things much easier." she opened the luggage compartment and removed two items from it: a parachute and a suitcase.

"Do you remember the contract you signed? The one that said that if my client betrayed the complete trust I was placing on him or her, said client would become my next target? Well, you paid me in advance so, as a thanks, I'll give you a chance: you have a few minutes before this thing lands in the ocean. Now is the best time to learn how to pilot an aircraft!" Chrysalis opened the door and waved at him before jumping out.

"CHRYSALIIIIIIIIIIS!" he yelled.

Agent Chrysalis fell with a smile on her face. No matter how many times she jumped out of aircrafts, the sensation of flying without the help of machines was always a pleasant sensation. She took her time to deploy the parachute, then gently landed on the surface of the water. Inside the suitcase, there was an inflatable boat, a lifesaver vest and a 3-piece oar. Once she was done setting the boat, she sat there and watched as Discord's personal plane plunged to the depths of the blue ocean, destroying all the evidence about her connection with King Discord and his little scheme.

"As entertaining as that was, I now have to row." she said as she checked her GPS. "Not that far from the main land. If I row on a steady pace - and if the weather remains clear..." she did some calculations in her head. "Yes, I can make it!" Agent Chrysalis then started to row as she hummed the row, row, row your boat song. "Should have brought a snack."

Author's Notes:

In case you're wondering, yes, King Discord raising his hand to use his power is another Quercus Alba reference!

Have I mentioned that I like Ace Attorney?
And Sunsagio, as you can see by the eety beety teeny tiny Sunsagio hint I added. I am such a helpless shipper!
So, what do you think of this sequel? Definitely not my best job, but not even close to being the worst. Leave your opinion down there! I love reading comments!
