Author's Notes:

So, you've managed to come across this little piece. Not gonna lie, it's not the best thing. It was my first story and was made when my writing wasn't great. Keep reading if you want, but I recommend that you read it's remake Second Universe: Here and Now instead.

It's been three weeks since I've been sent to Equestria, which is fine, I don't care about earth. It's just a sad little world slowly being destroyed by the very beings that call it home. You can try to deny that, but deep down you know that's true. I know that humanity can be good, there is beauty there somewhere, but where I grew up and where I was born, I never saw that. My life was terrible, I've seen so much yet so little, what I have saw makes me despise my own kind. I could stand here for hours and point out all the flaws in humanity, but then this tale wouldn't go anywhere. So let's begin.

When I was sent here I woke up in the Canterlot Gardens, beside the statue of Discord. When I opened my eyes I couldn't believe what I saw, a white Alicorn was standing before me. When I realised that I was not dreaming I put my hand to my neck to make sure my necklace was still there, and thank God it was. My necklace was nothing special to look at, just a small black wire with the symbol of the sun hanging from a small chain. It didn't look like much to anyone else, but to me, it was my most prized possession, given to me by the one person I cared for.

After snapping back to reality I remembered about the elegant mare before me, my senses never played tricks on me so I quickly accepted it. Now I'm going to spare you the details about our conversation, mostly because it's been done a thousand times before. When I learned I was in a new world I quickly decided not to go by my own name. The ones to call me by that name hurt me in more ways than one. Now I know what you're thinking, no, I did not say my name was Anon. I looked to the symbol on my necklace and picked a random name. I told her my name was Symbol Shattered, weird I know but it seemed to fit me pretty well, considering my world was broken right at that moment.

Celestia let me stay in a guest room of the castle, which I am grateful for, but it didn't seem right. I told her that I wasn't comfortable staying in a castle and she understood completely. I was sent to a town called ponyville, along with her student Twilight. Apparently Twilight and I were to look over the preparations for an upcoming festival, I was more than willing to help out. Twilight was also told to make some friends, which I could tell she wasn't happy about. During the trip to ponyville she wouldn't stop rambling about some upcoming disaster. I just blocked her out with my headphones, thank God my IPod got sent here too. I actually found a way to charge it, Celestia had given me a small bubble with a mini storm cloud in it. I just had to stick my IPod on it and it would instantly recharge. I don't have to worry about the cloud running out of power, you know, magic'n'stuff. I also met Twilight's dragon friend, who was glad to finally meet a guy for a change. Apparently Equestria is mostly Female, terrific.

I stuck around with Twi for a bit while we checked up on the preparations. Once that was done we parted ways, she went to her new living arrangements as did I. I wasn't ungrateful for the new house or anything but I wanted to pay Celestia back in some way, so she told me that I could do some jobs for her if I was needed. My house was in the middle of town, near town hall. The ponies in the town were very accepting of me, which was surprising to say the least. When the celebration started I decided to mingle for awhile, I met a pony that I could connect with a little, her name was Octavia Melody. She had a sort of British appeal to her, very sofisticated and didn't show much emotion like me. She told me that her friend had forced her to talk to somepony and I understood. I was normally pressured into socialising by my brother, so we had some common ground.

At some point we got into a conversation about music, which was an interesting subject. I told her about music on my world and she complained about her friends choice of music. We were about to part ways when the announcement of the princess was about to take place. You know what, I'm going to give you the short version, Celestia was missing, Nightmare Moon appeared, Twilight ran out with a group of ponies, I followed, we ran through a creepy forest, reached a rundown castle, faced Bitchmare Moon, I punched her in the face when she grabbed the girls with her magic and they shot a rainbow death beam at her with the Elements of Harmony, and I am pretty sure that they were the chaos emeralds at some point (sonic 1 only had six emeralds so I'm going with that).

After it all died down Celestia showed up and I could only walk up and say, "Where were you during all this?" She smiled and walked right passed me, and you know the rest.

It's been two weeks since then and I've managed to make some friends during the time, I also managed to befriend Luna, you know, the one I punched in the face. She was new to this world like me, so Celestia kind of forced us into it. When I tried to decline she reminded me that I was to do jobs for her. If I wasn't grateful for what she has done for me I would've noped my way back to ponyville. After I apologised for striking royalty, I became Luna's friend. I know what you're thinking, no I have not smiled during this time. Back to my friends, I have befriended Derpy, here's the reason.

She was a social outcast and a lot of the ponies made fun of her, which I could relate to. Don't ask why. When she told me she didn't have any friends I told her this. "Who care what they think, just because your eyes are crossed doesn't mean you don't have feelings. Derpy, you are an intelligent mare, and for as long as I live, I will be your friend." She tackled me to the ground with tears of joy, it was actually kind of adorable. Next is Vinyl, mostly because she has a teenage feel to her, oh wait I forgot to mention that I'm only 14 years old, and she's basically my only source to soda here, but she's kinda cool. I helped her with a mix and she kind of just befriended me on the spot. Next is a mare called Bonbon, smart mare, makes amazing candy and keeps her promises, pretty awesome friend. Next is Lyra, and no she is not obsessed with my hands, but she did seem to know a lot about humans, I don't even ask how or why I just roll with it. She's a sweet mare, very reliable, kinda fun to be around and all in all trustworthy. It came to my attention that the only guy friend I had was Spike, who would often come to me for advice only a guy could give.

Earlier on this week Celestia told me that she had found a way to send me home. I told her that I had no intention of returning and she asked why. "You could see your family again Symbol, don't you want that?" I winced a little at that statement.

"Can you look through the portal?"

"Y-yes, but why do you want to know such a thing?" I pulled out my iPod and put up Google maps, by the way with the magical energy in this world I get free wifi, and showed her three specific countries.

"Take a look at these countries Celestia, then you will know." She looked unsure but followed my instructions. When she saw the first country she was heartbroken, when she saw the second she was appalled and when she saw the third she was enraged. She turned to me with tears in her eyes. "Do you see now, what good is there returning to a world filled with despair and judgement when there is a perfect world right here?" She dried her tears and stared at me, I was still holding a neutral expression.

"But what about your family and friends?" My expression goes from neutral to enraged.

"All of those people have caused me nothing but pain." She looks at me then to the portal, she cancels her spell and the portal vanishes. She brings me in to a tight embrace which I can tell was more for her benefit than mine. So I've started a new life in Equestria, big deal. So I'm separated from my own kind, like I actually care. This world has so much more to offer, I don't know what the future holds for me but I know it's a better future than a life of working nine to five in a dead end job and paying taxes for the rest of my life. I am currently standing on the edge of a cliff, overlooking the sunset, my arms folded. I look down at my necklace and hold it tightly.

"Stay safe Abigail." I whisper.
