The founding father of Blackhaven, Nebulus Corvus. A demon general and knight who was from the Underworld, He was a high ranked knight and the best at what he did, fight with swords. His sword was crafted by demon metal, unbreakable. The blade was thin and long, the cross guards had a design which curved towards the blade and resembled ram horns. The pommel was a small skull made of metal. the teeth pointed to the grip which was wrapped with black leather strips. He had used this sword to escaped the Underworld and make his way to Equestria; to seek a better life. He disguised himself as a high classed pony, he took the form of a unicorn with a pulled backed spiky white mane and sharp horn, his coat was a pale vanilla. He had blue eyes and wore a golden monocle on his left eye. He was a handsome and noble stallion who was true to his word. He was said to be a romantic and friendly pony, talented in almost everything, the arts, science, history, literature and business. He was a fun pony to be around but when it came to business, he was completely serious about it. He was incredibly strong and had dark magic because he was a demon.

He lived in Canterlot and served as a soldier for the Lunar Guard for 13 years. As a warrior, he trained with many soldiers and impressed them, making him a sergeant and leader of a squad. He lived within the castle bunkers with his comrades. He has completed many missions with his squad and has been promoted along with his group. Two years later, he was tasked by Princess Luna to investigate what King Sombra was planning since they haven’t seen him do any wrong for quite some time and is rather suspicious. Nebulus and his squad were sent far out to gather this important intel. Many days laters, Nebulus and his squad had arrived at Sombra’s base. They stealthy entered the base and tried to find him without alerting him. There Nebulus saw him within the depths of his base. He recorded Sombra's conversation with his troops. Sombra was building an army tso he could wage a war that could possibly destroy thousands or even millions of lives.

They quickly traveled back and reported it to the princess immediately. Nebulus was then promoted to a general of the Lunar Guard for his noble deed and acts of leadership. The princesses developed a plan to stop Sombra from attacking Canterlot and other places in Equestria but as the plan was being developed, they were too late as Sombra and his army were marching towards Canterlot.

Celestia and Luna sent out their troops, including Nebulus to defend the cities from Sombra's troops. Nebulus leaded the Lunar Guard and had the troops use quick and clean attacks so Sombra’s troops wouldn’t expect it. Although that worked, Sombra was quick to pick up this strategic move and attacked using a blitz-like assault. This war waged on for almost two years. Sombra looked for Nebulus, knowing where he came from. He wanted to consume and conjure his power to become powerful. Nebulus used his demon forged sword and switched from his pony form to his true, demonic pony form and began to battle Sombra. As he weakened Sombra, he had the unicorns use magic to send him and his army back to their base. Sombra’s army became deceased by the magic as it was too bright and powerful for his troops. Sombra was able to escape into his base. The war was over. After the allies defeated Sombra, Equestria celebrated along with the troops. They had mourned over 600,000 soldiers and remembered the fallen.

A month later, the princesses had discovered Nebulus’ demonic power. Celestia had began to talk to Luna about whether his power would be a possible evil to the ponies in the future and banish him back to the Underworld. Luna had said that he used it for good and would be great to have in Equestria. Celestia had to think about it for a day and then decided to leave Nebulus in Equestria to protect it. Nebulus became a hero. The title he was given was the Dark Knight of Equestria. Ponies had appreciated his leadership and noble personality. As years went on, Nebulus' name slowly faded away and was almost forgotten in Equestria.

During this time, he was close to the end of his days. With the large amount of money he had, he decided to have dedicated ponies build a city in his name. The city was far away. It was built near a forest filled with evil creatures that have found their way out of the Underworld. Nebulus had decided to name the city Blackhaven in the name of his father. He named his sword Nightstyth.

The city had began with building a large, regal tower named the Shadow Sanctuary created of black glass. The design for the building was rectangular which then became slanted and smaller as it reached the top, creating a nice triangular rod towards the middle of the building. The building has four towers connecting them to each other. In the middle lies a black orb (named the Dark Conduit) which floats in the middle of the building, near the rods which give it the ability to float. The interior uses lots of marble to create columns within the building and beautiful sculptures. Elevators were created to get from floor to floor because of how tall the building is.

The Shadow Sanctuary was created to keep bigger and more sinister creatures from the Underworld sealed and away from Equestria. So Nebulus used his remaining dark magic on the building to power it. The key to opening the Underworld lied in his amulet. The amulet was divided into three fragments. One fragment was a dark purple gem, the second gem was crimson red and the final gem was light blue. The gate to the Underworld was in the Dark Conduit. You had to put the fragments of the amulet to create it and place it in the seal of the Conduit, thus opening the portal in it. The height of the Shadow Sanctuary shoots up to 1,750 ft. each tower is 255 ft. in width. The building is used as a government building and meetings with the Princess. Other buildings around the Shadow Sanctuary are textured with gargoyles.

The inspiration for the style of the buildings were from Middle Age gothic buildings. The buildings are used for entertainment purposes such as restaurants, nightclubs, malls, museums, city halls, banks, business/industrial companies and much more. Small buildings outside the city and create the suburbs are used as residential homes. They were inspired by contemporary styles used in today's modern buildings. Schools are usually around the homes and small stores such as grocery stores (outdoor farm markets), small stores, little restaurants and theaters.

When the city was being built, Nebulus fell in love with a mare named Serina. She was an earth pony with a flowing and long red mane, her coat was yellow green and her cutie mark was a honeycomb since she gathered honey to sell to many ponies. Her eyes were green. She was short with a wonderful body, the body of a model pony. They had gotten married and she then gave birth to three colts The colts were triplets and were named, Onyx, Nexus and Amethyst. Three months later, she was murdered by demons from the forest. Nebulus was furious and wanted to find them but he couldn’t.

After the city was finished being built, Nebulus died of natural causes. Blackhaven surprisingly was major success. Business ponies, movie stars, musicians, entrepreneurs and more around Equestria had made businesses in the city and much more. Although the city is quite big to fit three quarters of a million, the city is not overcrowded like it should be. It has a population of 454,984 ponies. Those who do hear of Blackhaven are lucky because there is much activity and opportunity to be had.
