The Problem with Super Mario Bros.

Prologue

Twilight and Rainbow Dash were walking around when suddenly...

"What's that?" asked Twilight, pointing to a wormhole nearby.

"Beat's me. Hey! Wanna check it out?" asked Rainbow.

"All right," replied Twilight. They walked over to the wormhole. They examined it until...

"HELP! SOMEONE! ANYONE! PLEASE! HELP!" shouted a voice; The voice came from the wormhole.

"What was that?" asked Rainbow.

"It came from this...thing," replied Twilight, pointing at the wormhole again.

"Well, whoever screamed MUST be in trouble!" said Rainbow.

"Let's Go!" they shouted as they entered the wormhole to help the one in danger. Little did they know, it was the most annoying creature in all the universe and any multi-verse who screamed.

Part 1

After arriving, they didn't notice the wormhole close behind them.

"Where the Hell are we.....," started Rainbow but was cut off by Twilight .

"There's no time to wonder. We have...to....uh, Rainbow?" said Twilight, looking down at a local of the mysterious dimension they were in.

"What...is...it?" asked Rainbow, now realizing what Twilight meant. They looked at each other in total confusion and then continued to stare at the local. The local seamed puzzled. Rainbow broke the silence.

"Who and...what are you?" asked Rainbow. Before the local could speak, a mustachioed local spoke to the confused duo.

"Oh, Thank Goodness help has arrived. Usually, the Mario Bros. help defend the castle. But,...." said the mustachioed local before Rainbow was going to ask "Where are we?"

"Questions will be answered later. OH! By the way, my name is Toadsworth, Guardian of Princess 'Toadstool' Peach." said Toadsworth.

"Why not now, Toadsworth?" asked Twilight.

"Because, the...the...the...THE PRINCESS HAS BEEN KIDNAPPED!" shouted Toadsworth.

Author's note - Gladly accepting SIMPLE and TO THE POINT advice or suggestions on side-stories.

Part 2

The three were inside the Castle of the Princess getting briefed on the situation.

Toadsworth told them they were a species called Toads and that The Mario's and The Princess are the only humans.

"The Mario Bros. usually take care of Bowser and his son, Bowser Jr.'s Army, The Koopa Troop, but for some reason, they weren't here. We needed all the help we could get, so when you two arrived, we were very grateful and...excuse me...are you sleeping!" shouted Toadsworth to Rainbow Dash. Rainbow was not the kind to sit around and listen to exposition all day; she took action but she was as clueless as Twilight now and needed information.

"Wha...oh! Sorry. Must have dosed off. You were saying?" Rainbow said as prompting Toadsworth to continue speaking. Twilight was using magic/telekinesis/the force(?) to write down notes, so it would be easier to understand; though depending on the story, it will be a tough task to make sense of such a plot as Super Mario Games have.

"By the way, how are you doing that?" asked Toadsworth, dumbstruck by the phenomenon he had witnessed.

"It's called levitation magic, back in Equestria, that is." answered Twilight. "Where are we, anyway?"

"This," Toadsworth shouting, raising his arms,"is the Castle of Princess 'Toadstool' Peach, but generally speaking we are in the Mushroom Kingdom, as well."

"OK! RELAX!" shouted Rainbow, putting Toadsworth's arms down.

"Anyway....It is very crucial that the princess is saved at once," said Toadsworth. "Bowser could do anything to her, which scares the shit out of me just thinking about it and...." started Toadsworth.

"Hold on. Who's Bowser?" asked Twilight.

"Oh, yes. Bowser is, generally speaking, a powerful, tyrannical dragon/lizard, bent on destruction and chaos in his wake, who wants nothing more than to kidnap the princess." said Toadsworth, very bluntly. Immediately after, the two ponies fell to the floor with shock as to how well Toadsworth explained Bowser, without fear or hesitation. "Huh? Oh yes. He also has kidnapped the princess almost 2 million times."

"That explains everything! So, your really not scared?" asked Rainbow.

"We only get scared when he shows up. Even if he's mentioned, he almost makes us laugh. He seems too foolish to try again after 25+ Years of failure." said Toadsworth, smirking the whole time.

"WOW! That's...embarrass..." started Twilight before getting interrupted with Rainbow suddenly laughing up a riot, rolling on the floor.

"WEEZZ....Th...that's....too........much........ha....ha....." Rainbow got in before returning to endless laughing. After 2 minutes, she subsided and became quiet.

"Wait! Didn't you say The Mario Bros. take care of Bowser. On that note, who are they?" asked Twilight.

"They are the protectors of the Mushroom Kingdom. One in Red and one in Green, when they show up, villains flee the scene. They stomp anyone in their path to rescue the princess," answered Toadsworth.

"Wow. They sound awesome. Where are they?" asked Rainbow.

"We don't know. They didn't show up for some reason....." Toadsworth began as a SLAM grabbed everyone's attention.

"The Mario Bros. have arrived," stated a Blue Toad. Without hesitation, the three ran to the front entrance to greet the heroes, trampling the Blue Messenger Toad in the process.

The Giant Doors opened and in walked the Epic Heroes of the Mushroom Kingdom, The Mario Bros. The light emanating from the door dimmed to find 2 Italian plumbers; one red and one Green named Mario and Luigi, respectively. Rainbow Dash then proceeded to roll on the floor, laughing like a hyena.

Part 3

"THESE...are ...your......heroes?......ha.ha..ha..." Rainbow uttered before laughing more. She was talking about the Mario Bros., who had just arrived. They said that why they were late was that Yoshi was eating the Neighbor's flowers; They had to stop him.

"YES! They, unlike their appearance, are very professional," Toadsworth said before looking at the Mario Bros. shooting a glance back.

"Since there professionals, they should tag along with us," suggested Twilight. By this time, Rainbow had stopped laughing.

"All Right! Time to save a princess!" shouted Rainbow, heading for the door.

"WAIT!!!" shouted Toadsworth, stopping Rainbow. "I warn you: These minions are deadly, except for brown ones. Also, The Mario Bros. will give you advice and guide you."

"OK. Let's Go!" shouted the 4 as they exited the castle.

As the door closed, Toadsworth gave some last minute advice. "You will face many trials and each trial will be harder....than the last," whispered Toadsworth as the door shuts.
