Trapped in a car

by Breezie

Chapter 1: Trapped

Trapped

"Mum?" Sweetie Belle shouts.

"MUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUM!" Sweetie Belle shouts again.

Her parents had just left Sweetie inside the car to go shopping. Yes, shopping. But they're not responsible parents. They left Sweetie Belle in a hot boiling car on a hot boiling day, in the middle of summer. The windows and doors were firmly locked, because Sweetie's parents didn't want anyone getting in. Well... there's no way for Sweetie Belle to get out if she feels too hot. 10 minutes pass by, nothing has happened yet. Sweetie Belle looks outside to window to see Scootaloo slumping behind her parents, with a broken scooter. She tried to wave to Scootaloo, but she wasn't seen. Sweetie Belle sighs, and wipes her forehead. 'Where the heck is the cold air thingy?' She thinks, searching around the car for the air conditioner. She finds it, and tries to turn it on, but the handle won't budge. Sweetie Belle annoyingly sighs this time, wiping her forehead with both hands.

30 minutes

Sweetie Belle is awoken from her deep slumber by Applebloom loudly slamming her hands onto the car window. She presses her face right up close to it as Sweetie Belle waves. "You look like a waterfall!" Applebloom shouts, just so Sweetie can hear it. Sweetie Belle stares at Applebloom like she was crazy, but it was sort of the truth. Sweetie was sweating like mad, and her car seat was burning hot. Applebloom was suddenly pulled away from the car by Applejack, who also dragged her sister into the store. Sweetie's parents should've been back by now, but there's no sign of them. Just couples, families, teens trying to rap, and people rushing in and out. After being rudely awoken and still tired, Sweetie Belle drifts back to sleep.

1 hour

1 hour ago, Sweetie Belle fell asleep because she was too hot and too tired.

She never woke up.

Her head slumps against the window, seatbelt undone. A sweaty handprint on the same window, fading away. Everyone passing by thought it was a regular child sleeping, but little did they know that it was Sweetie Belle's body. A few minutes later, her parents returned, obviously late and obviously loaded with shopping. Sweetie's mum carefully opens the car door that Sweetie Belle's body is leaning on, and Sweetie Belle just drops out of the car and faceplants the ground. A few shoppers stop in their tracks by hearing Sweetie mum scream. A crowd of shoppers instantly run over, and in that crowd are Applejack, Applebloom, Scootaloo and Scootaloo's parents. "SWEETIE! WAKE UP, BABY. PLEASE, WAKE UP!" Sweetie Belle's mother screams, shaking her daughter's boiling body. She puts her hand on her forehead. "Oh no." She realises. "We've been the most stupid parents EVER!" She yells, dropping Sweetie's body to the ground. Everything that happened next was in a blur.

Yelling.

Shouting.

Screaming.

Crying.

"CALL 999!"

Sirens.

Panicking.

The closing of ambulance doors.

More crying.

Defibrillators, and death. Sweetie Belle had died from a little mistake her parents made. This could happen to you, or your own child if you do not think clearly and carefully. Charges were pressed against the parents, and the funeral for Sweetie Belle went on without them. They made Sweetie a huge tribute at school, and her story was making the news. Don't, and I repeat, DON'T ever leave your child in a hot car by themselves.

Be careful.

Author's Note:

Thanks for reading this. I know it was badly written, grammar and stuff could be better, but writing stories is a weak point for me. This has never happened to me (and I sure hope it doesn't in the future), but has happened to other innocent babies and kids. This was written to make all parents think! :)
