1-Dream Come True
Chaos. Everything had gone to hell with their mission. What was supposed to be a simple cargo shipment had turned into a hellish nightmare.
Seth Connors and Tyler Graves were the pilots aboard the U.S.C Arc Nova, the most high-tech air ship in history. They were supposed to deliver ten nuclear warheads to a military base on a U.S owned island, far away from civilization. The creators of the ship had been so confident in its construction that they had said in could withstand any weather, though they were soon proved wrong.
"Hey, Seth. Looks like there's a hurricane ahead, check with base if we should go around." Tyler said as he checked the radar monitor aboard the ship.
"Will do," Seth said and pulled a old school phone down from the roof.
"Base, this is Arc Nova,we're approaching a class five hurricane and requesting a change of course." Seth said into the phone.
"... Arc Nova, this is base tower, continue in your current route, over." The man on the other end of the line said.
"Aww, shit. I hate storms." Seth complained and put the phone back in place.
"So?" Tyler asked.
"We're going straight ahead. Full speed, we don't want the upwinds to catch us." Seth said, and Tyler increased the throttle.
"It's going to be a bumpy ride."
Everything was going well, they came across the hurricane, but the ship seemed to hold together nicely. Though at the back edge of their cabin, just where the engine were,a strange rustle began. At first the pilots paid it no mind, but as they came further and further into the hurricane, the louder it became. Lightning flashed and whirled along with the rapidly spinning cloud. Though one stray bolt reached out and struck the cabin. The pilots were only taken aback, but the engines didn't do as well. Because the rustle had been seven inches long loose screw, and the lightning bolt had made its way in through the small gap and terminated the engines.
"Seth, we're loosing power." Tyler said as the energy bar in front of him quickly depleted.
"What? I knew this was a bad idea. Okay, we'll make a turn to the right." He said, planning to get out of the storm while they still could.
But as the ship turned a sudden wind came from the opposite direction, pushing the powerless ship further into the storm.
"Seth, the upwinds will tear the ship apart if we don't get the power back on." Tyler said.
"I know, just keep the gas in and keep trying to get the engines going." Seth said as he stood up. He hurried to the back of the cabin and opened a small locker. He pulled a parachute out and his windsurfer.
"Here, put this on." He said and threw the parachute to Tyler.
"What ,why?" Tyler asked and looked at Seth with fearful eyes.
"Just in case."
The ship was flung around at at least sixty miles per hour, but it was only built to go around forty. So far the ship had held together, but as a upwind got hold of it loud cracking noises came from the metal frame.
They had somehow managed to get in the middle between up and down drafts, which put a pressure of several hundreds tons on the thin frame, and the ship broke apart; clean in the middle.
Seth saw Tyler's mouth open, but he couldn't hear him after he was sucked out through the large hole that had formed in the cabin, which in itself was just flying around separately from the rest of the ship.
"Ty!" Seth shouted as he saw his best friend disappear into the chaotic storm winds. He didn't hesitate a second before jumping after his friend. He put his feet on the windsurfer, and the tall sail shot up inches from his face. The four meter sail spread out, and he was sucked along with the rotating storm.
The noise was deafening as Seth rode his surfer through the storm. The lightning bolts flashed everywhere, and they looked to be stretching out towards him, but he couldn't see Tyler anywhere. He had a small rocket engine installed at the bottom of his surfer, but it would only last a few minutes against the winds in the hurricane, he had to be smart to survive this, but Seth was never known as the smart type. He activated the rocket thrusters and sped forward in close to a hundred miles per hour. He felt the extreme speed and intense winds tear the skin off of his arms and face, but he didn't care. His comfort was far less worth than his best friend's life.
After a minute off agonizing super surfing he saw the bright orange cloth the parachute was made off. He turned the rockets off and let the wind take him towards the parachute, and with winds at one hundred and fifty miles per hour it didn't take long. He was only a hundred meters away from the chute as he was sucked to the side. He looked around in wonder, and he was amazed at what his eyes showed him. The sun shone brightly in through a hole in the storm, the lightning followed the rotating clouds as they swirled around Tyler as he hung in the center of the storm's eye.
Tyler just stared as he saw his friend ride his windsurfer along the electric edges of the storm that circled him. Seth used all his power to tilt the surfer towards the eye,and activated the thrusters. He was quickly flew in towards Tyler, who hung helplessly in the air, several thousand meters over the ground.
"Man, am I glad to see you." Tyler yelled, trying to make himself heard over the raging winds and loud lightning bolts.
Seth didn't say anything, because he felt something was wrong. He looked up and saw that the lightning above them had turned bright blue and swirled around in a perfect circle. He wanted to say something but before he could, ten simultaneous lightning bolts struck down into their bodies, and the world disappeared with a bright flash.
_________________________________________________________________________________________
Seth couldn't tell how long he had been out, but he felt the sun shine in his face, so he assumed long enough for the storm to pass.
His vision was blurry and his body was numb. He saw Tyler in the corner of his eye, but he didn't move. For minutes Seth laid there, hoping his body would wake up. He managed to bend his fingers slightly and his breathing became easier. His arms were filled with warm blood and slowly sat up as he felt more and more of his body. He looked at Tyler, and saw he was still breathing, which he was grateful for.
But no matter how long he looked, he couldn't get the environment to make sense. A thick dark forest towered over them at the left, even though they had been flying over a open field.
Seth was snapped out of his stupor as he saw a group of small armored ponies run towards them.
"What in the actual fuck?" Seth asked himself as the ponies reached them. Seth stood up and pushed his chest out, making the ponies recoil, but only for a mere second before he was surrounded in a strange aura and the world slipped away again.
_________________________________________________________________________________________
Seth felt his back ache and his head felt like a rhino had come and parked a bus in it only to smash it with a monster truck inspired tank.
He laid on a cold wooden bench in a room made out of large chunks of rock. Metal bars covered one edge of the square room, and it didn't take long for Seth to realize he was in a prison.
"T-Ty?" He asked, hoping his friend was in a cell nearby.
"Seth? Man, am I glad you're awake." He heard Tyler's voice.
"Where are we?" Seth asked.
"I don't know, I haven't seen any guards." Tyler said. At the very same moment the loud sound of a metal door opening echoed in the dungeon, and strange steps approached; sounding almost as if they were made by hoofs.
Seth sat silently as a shadow grew larger and larger through the small entrance to the dungeon. And sure enough, it was a hoofed animal that came through. At first sight Seth assumed they had a small pony to carry the keys around, but he soon realized that wasn't the case.
The armored pony looked exactly like a drawing Tyler had made a few weeks earlier, if he didn't remember completely wrong,it was from a kids show called My Little Pony. Seth knew Tyler was a fan of the show, a so called brony, since Tyler always talked about wanting to go to their land, but never in a million years had he expected to actually see a living unicorn guard, but here it was.
"Oh... My god." Tyler said as he laid eyes on the unicorn.
"You have got to be kidding me." Seth said, who had always been a little of a pony anti-christ.
More hoofs became audible and another unicorn came into the dungeon. It had a more refined armor, so Seth assumed it was of a higher rank than the first one.
"Greetings, my name is Captain Shining Armor, who and what are you?" The unicorn stallion asked.
"Oh my god, Shining Armor." Tyler said slowly. As a smile became more and more visible on his face. Though before he could say anything Seth rose to his feet and walked closer to the bars.
"Who the fuck do you think you are, attacking us out of nowhere like that, huh?" He asked angrily.
"I am terribly sorry about that... misunderstanding, but due to you superior size the guards felt intimidated and decided to bring you here for questioning instead of taking it out there." Shining said. Seth sighed deeply and leaned against the rock wall.
"Well, as long as you won't hurt us we'll not hurt you." Seth said, trying to sound diplomatic.
"Well, that's a great relief. And of course I believe you and I will have you released as soon as possible." Shining Armor said.
"... Fair enough,"
The guards led the two humans towards the throne room. Meanwhile Seth and Shining began to talk, discovering they had a lot in common, and they got along nicely. Tyler was too hyped to talk. His biggest dream had just become reality, and his mind was in a euphoric state.
It didn't take long before they reached the throne room, and the guards opened the large doors the moment they saw Shining.
"Your highnesses, here they are." Shining said and backed away. Tyler stared at the two obviously powerful ponies in front of him, even Seth was impressed by the powerful aura that seemed to emit from them. One was dark blue with a moon tattoo on its butt, and the other was slightly larger and white with a sun tattoo on its butt. Both had manes that blew gently in a non-existent breeze.
"Holy... My princesses." Tyler said and bowed deeply.
"Uhh, hi." Seth said reluctantly, but nodded his head in a bowing manner simply to show he had a slight amount of respect for the two.
"I can't believe I actually get to meet you." Tyler said with tear-filled eyes. Seth looked at the two ponies, he would've preferred to call them horses with their size, but Shining had made it clear that they were all to be referred to as ponies, no matter size.
"Greetings, my name is Celestia. And this is my sister, Luna. Together we are the rulers of Equestria." The large white pony said.
Tyler was prepared to just die at the spot, and Seth noticed this. And hit him lightly with his elbow.
"If I may ask, what are your names?" Celestia asked. Tyler was still mesmerized by the solar goddess's appearance that Seth had to introduce them both.
"Forgive my friend, he's a big fan of yours. My name is Seth, and this is Tyler. I apologize for intruding in your land like this, we honestly have no idea of how we got here." Seth said.
"You don't know?" Luna asked as she stepped forward, giving Seth a lightly unsettling look.
"We were flying in our airship through a hurricane, when suddenly it broke apart. And after many unsettling events, we woke up here." Seth explained.
Seth could tell Celestia had troubles with believing his story, but eventually she looked into his eyes and sighed.
"Well, if that's the case then we shall do everything we can to help you back. As for the most immediate future you may stay here in the castle, if you do not wish otherwise." Celestia said.
"Thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou!" Tyler said excitedly, and Seth just nodded towards the princess.
"Shining, can you show them to their rooms, please?" Celestia asked.
"Yes of course, princess." Shining said, and the two humans had little choice but to follow the stallion.
"So I was standing there with full armor on, having just told the most heroic speech ever to the mare, and my subordinate comes and tells me it was a false alarm, I didn't dare to show my face in public for weeks."
"Ha ha ha!"
Seth and Shining was having a goofy conversation about embarrassing stuff they had done, when suddenly a guard pegasus came running towards them.
"Captain, Changelings have attacked in the city." The guard said.
"What? I will be there in a moment." Shining said and turned to Seth.
"I have to go, your room is just up ahead." He said.
"Are you kidding me. I'm a fucking soldier, I can't sit on my ass all day." Seth said and followed Shining as he ran towards the gate.
"Seth! God dammit!" Tyler complained before running after the two, forcing the lats unicorn guard to follow as well.
They ran through the city until they saw three changelings harass a civil pony. Seth was slightly disgusted by the sight of them. Bug-like ponies with wings, horns and holes in their limbs.
"Stop right there!" Shining said; gaining their attention. The changeling quickly looked at each other and all fired bursts of green magic at the same time towards the unicorn captain, who easily blocked their weak magic with his own.
He shot a bright bolt of purple magic, hitting and knocking out one of the changelings. But afterwards there were only one left. He didn't have time to think about that though, since the changeling in front of him sped towards him. He side stepped and the changeling crashed into the ground. Shining prepared a sleep spell, but the changeling suddenly turned around and flashed a bright spell in his eyes, blinding him. He stumbled backwards, and didn't see the changeling that wa sabout to pierce him with its horn from the side.
Everything after that happened in a moment. Seth saw the changeling prepare to slash its horn straight through him, and the other one maintained its spell to keep his eyes disfunctional. Seth ran towards them, reaching his right arm out towards Shining Armor. He felt all his energy deplete from his legs, and a single spark of electrcity danced across his arm. It quickly made its way to his hand and swriled around his fingers, until it reached the edge of his middle finger, and something indescribable happened.
It looked like a single bolt of lightining. But it was several meters in diameter and it had a light blue tint, and it looked almsot pixelated.
The spark on his arm had turned into several hundred thousands volt that surged out from his body and swirled across his entire body.
The world became brighter and brighter, before it flashed white and everything turned black.
2-Lunar Visit
"Princess, I swear. I have never seen anything like it, the magic he performed is far above anything I could pull off." Shining Armor's voice echoed in Seth's head as he slowly woke up.
"Yes, and I believe you. That's why I'm here to talk to him." He heard Celestia's voice. He sat up in the soft bed,and looked around and saw he was in a hospital room.
"Seth, you're awake." Shining said as he saw Seth sit up.
"Yeah, but shit. What happened? I feel like I have the worse hangover in the history of hangover...s" He said groggily.
"You were amazing, your magic was the most extraordinary thing I've ever seen." Shining said excitedly.
"What? I didn't do anything,I never reached you." Seth said.
"No,but your magic saved my life."
"I... I can't do magic." Seth said and looked at his hands, and the memories from earlier came flooding back into his head.
"I shouldn't do magic." He corrected himself.
"This is very peculiar, please come with me,Seth." Celestia said, and Seth didn't waste a second before getting off the bed and following the princess.
They walked out from the castle and into the gardens outside.
"Can you please show what you did?" Celestia asked with a curious look on her face.
"Well,I can try." Seth said and lifted his arm up like he had done earlier. He tried to focus all his strength and power into his arm,but nothing happened.
"Come on!" He said in irritation. But still nothing happened.
Celestia watched the human try to get the magic to work, and as she did she accidentally bit her tongue. At first she thought of how clumsy she could be,but then she noticed how his body had tensed at the very moment she bit herself.
"I wonder." She said quietly to herself. She used her magic to pick a apple from a tree nearby and flung the apple toward Shining Armor's head.
Seth felt time slow down as he saw the apple that headed for Shining's head. Out of pure instinct he moved his arm and fired a quick burst of electricity from his arm, which it the apple and made it explode before it reached Shining.
"How interesting." Celestia said aloud.
"Did you just throw an apple at me?" Shining Armor asked.
"Did you get any apple on you?" Celestia asked.
"No,but that was because Seth sa-... Ohh..." He said as he realized what she had tried.
"What?" Seth asked, completely oblivious to their wordless agreement.
"Seth, come with me." Celestia said and walked back into the castle.
"Yes,ma'am."
Celestia led Seth into the castle's library, where she immediately went to search for something. Seth however had no such interests and sat down in a chair and whistled on a song he used to listen to back home.
It took a few minutes, but eventually Celestia found what she was looking for and came back to Seth with a book levitating beside her.
"This is Starswirl the bearded's book about emotional and gathered magic.
"... So?"
"You see Starswirl believed that a pony could gain magical abilities by feeling the absolute climax of every emotion. For example;if you feel the purest of hate against somepony, you might get the ability to create and control fire around them. Or if you were to be the happiest pony alive you could gain the ability to teleport whenever you are happy." Celestia explained.
"How does that help me?" Seth asked.
"It doesn't,but his other theory does. See gathered magic is magical power you gain when you make friends. Most ponies only get a brighter mood, but you for example could be an exception. Starswhirl believed that when you make a friend you can get the a small fragment of their magical energy. And when that is a unicorn the energy might just be enough to give you actual magic to control. Though it wouldn't make you almighty." Celestia said.
"Okay, that kinda makes sense,I guess. But that doesn't explain why I couldn't use it on demand." Seth said.
"Yes,actually it does. You gain that special pony's magic. You befriended Shining Armor,a royal guard. So you will most likely only be able to use magic to protect others. Though if you were to befriend other unicorn the chance is that you will get more powerful magic." Celestia said.
Seth was astounded by the princess's lecture. It all sounded amazing. It made an awful lot of sense, but he still had a hard time believing it. He still felt like he would wake up at a hospital in America any second.
He looked at the mighty pony in front of him, when he suddenly realized something.
"Hey,is it only you and Luna who have both wings and a horn?" He asked.
"All royalty in Equestria are Alicorns, but no,there is one more;Princess Cadence. And while we're at this,I might as well tell you a lityle about what exactly we do. You might have seen my sister's and my cutie mark are the sun and the moon."
"Cutie mark?"
"The marks on our flank." Celestia said and gave him a 'you done?' Look.
"Anyway,a pony's cutie mark represents their special talent. My cutie mark is a sun, because I raise the sun. And my sister's is the moon, because she can raise the moon." Celestia explained.
"Oh... So you raise the sun?" Seth asked.
"Uhh,yes." Celestia said, dropping her royal way of speaking.
"That... That's cool." Seth said and nodded repeatedly.
Celestia got tired of his derpy behavior and left the library. Seth didn't feel like sitting their alone so he took his new knowledge and left as well. He walked through the castle, not entirely sure of where anything was. Though he soon encountered Luna as she walked alone through a poorly lit corridor.
"Princess Luna, what are you doing here all alone?" He asked.
"Why I'm not alone anymore,am I" She asked, seeming to struggle slightly with her speech.
Seth laughed slightly and smiled towards her. "I guess not"
He walked closer to the princess, and he noticed her looking up and down his body.
"Is something wrong?"
"No,nothing. It's just difficult to see in the dark." She said, even though she could see as if she was outside on a sunny day, though Seth didn't know that.
She didn't know why,but something about the human made her very curious. The other one,Tyler, had assaulted her with questions so she was forced to call for the guards to make sure he didn't touch her. But Seth was calm,he didn't seem like a extremely positive individual, but he was something special. That his usual cold expression so easily shifted to a warm and caring smile. She wanted to stare into his light blue eyes for all eternity, and it frightened her. She didn't know the man,yet she liked him so much. She had felt depressed when she walked alone in the castle, but he had come and brightened her day in a instant.
While she was lost in her thought Seth had walked closer to her,and was now only one meter away. He bent his legs slightly and leaned closer to her. He put a ha d underneath her cheeks and chin and brought her face to his. His warm welcoming eyes seemed to stare straight into her eyes. Her instincts told her to call for the guard, but she didn't want to. He slowly changed the position off his hand and scratched her behind her ear lightly.
"Luna,if you ever need anything,or just feel like talking. Please come see me,I promise You I will always be there for you." He said soothingly. She felt her heart rate increase, but it felt as if her heart had completely stopped as he gently pressed his lips against hers.
He put his hand back underneath her her chin. He took brought his head back and looked into her eyes again, his thumb gently stroking her snout. He smiled gently before planting a kiss on the tip of her nose before standing up straight again.
"Till next time." He said and bowed while backing away before walking into a side corridor.
"Ty!" Seth screamed hysterically as he barged into his friend's room, finding him sitting on bed with a small book in his hands.
"Seth,what's up?" Tyler asked casually.
"What's up? I just made out with the lunar goddess, that's what's up! I'm turning into a fucking pony fucker, man!" Seth said and fell onto Tyler's bed.
"You know, there's really nothing wrong with liking ponies. You got along well with Shining Armor,he's a pony. There isn't really a problem." Tyler said, before the weight of his friend's words struck him.
"Wait, you seriously? With Luna?" He asked and looked at Seth, who nodded into the blanket.
"Dude, tell me exactly what happened!" Tyler said excitedly.
"what?" Seth said i to the blankets. He sat up on the bed and looked at Tyler.
"Well,I really don't know what happened myself. I just saw her alone in a dark corridor. She looked so depressed so I really just wanted to go say hi. But shit happened and I... Accidentally pulled her into a kiss and she's gonna send the entire fucking guard force after my ass." Seth said.
"Didn't she resist?"
"Well,not really."
"Then I don't think she's gonna send anyone one you. But I would keep away from other mares if I was you." Tyler said and turned back to his book.
"... Really?"
Seth found their conversation very strange and decided to leave and headed to his own room, which was just thirty meters away.
Walked in without closing the door behind him. The room had become slightly dark as Celestia had begun to lower the sun.
He walked to the window and looked out. He looked straight out,the sun setting to his right and the moon rising to his left. Seth had always preferred the day's light. But now the moon seemed to shine brighter than ever, and he just couldn't take his eyes off of it.
For minutes he sat in silence and watched the moon rise onto the night sky,but he decided that it was time for him to get some sleep.
He pulled his black pants off and laid his hoodie and t-shirt at the base of the bed.
Strangely enough he had woken up in his normal clothes instead of his pilot suit after the crash, but he didn't care to bother.
He laid down underneath the blanket and closed his eyes, but something was off. It still felt as bright as day.
He got up and pulled the curtains in the way of the window, but it was still bright. Seth couldn't understand how.
He decided to just leave it and get into bed again. He took a deep breath, and the room seemed to get slightly darker,it wasn't as dark as he wanted, but it was dark enough.
Seth closed his eyes and he felt the world slowly fade away.
Though what he couldn't sense was that his door opened slightly more, and a certain Lunar princess entered his room.
She carefully walked towards his bed,and when she was just a few feet away Seth heard her. He slowly turned towards her and looked into her eyes.
"Oh,princess." He said with a tired yet surprised look, before his expression changed. He got a warm smile and his tired eyes looked at hers.
"Is something wrong?"
"Well, you said I could come whenever, and I felt really lonely. But if you mind I ca-..."
"No,no no." He interrupted her, still wearing his warm smile.
"Princess,I have a suggestion." He said slowly.
"What might that be?" She asked. Seth moved away from her,and made some space on the bed.
"Why don't you join me?" He asked. He could tell she nervous, but her eyes revealed that she was extremely eager to do as he said.
"Come on,I don't bite." He said with a laugh, and she slowly laid down on the bed, with her back towards him. He moved closer to her and pressed his chest against her back. He leaned his head closer to hers, and nibbled at her ear lightly.
"Well," he laughed gently. "Not all too much." He whispered, and the princess shuddered, before moving her head up until it rested on his shoulder. He gently put and arm around her and the two drifted to sleep, even though Luna was supposed to be awake until sun rise, she couldn't help but fall asleep in Seth's warm embrace.
3-Troublesome Love
"Hey Seth,I need yo-..." Tyler walked into Seth's room, but went quiet as he saw his friend laying on top of the lunar goddess in a protective, almost possessive manner, even though they were both asleep.
"... Maybe I should've knocked." And with that Tyler ran out the room.
It took half an hour more before Seth finally woke up,with Luna underneath him.
"Oh shit!" He said silently and rolled off of her.
"I'm so dead,shitshitshit!"
"Shut up!" He heard Luna complain.
"I'm trying to sleep." She muttered.
"Umm,are you not angry at me?" Seth asked.
"Why would I be? I'm the one who came here." Luna said.
"Yeah... Right."
"Well, did you sleep well? Any nice dreams?" She asked and turned towards him with a suggestive smile, which made him remember his rather unclean dream about the princess.
"Yeah... It was nice." He said slowly, which made the princess blush. Unfortunately enough for him he didn't know she had seen his entire dream.
Seth stood up at the side of the bed,and realized he only had a pair of boxers on. His cheeks turned bright red and he hurried to put his pants on.
"Aww,no fair. You see us without clothes all the time. Why can't we see you? Are you afraid?" Luna asked.
"Humans aren't as well covered by nature. We need clothes to be... Socially acceptable." Seth said.
"Humans sound boring." Luna said and watched Seth dress.
"If you only knew." Seth said and put his t-shirt on. He didn't care about his hoodie and walked to Luna's end of the bed.
"Well,I have to get myself some breakfast. You can stay here if you want to,but uhh..." Seth said slowly.
"Yeah yeah, you go. I'll be there soon." Luna said.
"It's in the hall next to the throne room, right?" He asked a final time.
"Yes," Luna said, and Seth disappeared out of the room.
Seth reached the dining hall and saw Celestia,Tyler,Shining and a pink alicorn sit together.
"Good morning,Seth. Have you slept well." Celestia asked.
"Oh,.. Very." Seth said and blushed slightly.
"You haven't possible seen Luna this morning?" She asked.
"Yes,actually I have. She should be here in a few minutes." Seth said and sat down next to a giggling Tyler.
"Oh'I'm sorry. I'm Seth." He said and bowed towards the pink alicorn.
"Hello,my name is Cadence. I'm Shining Armor's wife." The alicorn said.
"My my,you never told me you had a wife, did ya,armor?" Seth laughed, and Shining gave him 'get your ass on that seat and shut up!' look.
"So,Seth. What have you been doing all morning?" Tyler asked and leaned closer to Seth.
"I slept,you?"
"Nothing,I were out for a morning stroll. Nothing special." He said casually, but Seth could tell he wanted to say something.
Luna arrived and sat down beside Seth, and the waiters came out with a wide array of different food.
They all ate and shared occasional stories and talked just like anyone would have done back on earth. Just this wasn't earth, was it?
They all got along and the fact that Tyler and Seth was of an entirely new race became irrelevant. But all through the breakfast Tyler sat and watched Seth and Luna as they made a lot of unnecessary physical contact, all the while Luna blushed, but it was barely visible through her dark coat.
Seth leaned back and made a deep sigh, before smiling softly.
"What's with you?" Tyler asked with a laugh.
"Can you believe it? A week ago we would sit alone in our dusty old apartments alone,go to work at the base and get our asses shouted off for being late, then just go home and repeat. Now we sit in a castle eating breakfast with literal gods. If only more people were like this, then our world could be as perfect as this." Seth said and took a glance at Luna.
"If only a fraction of this world's grace could come to ours, maybe the wars would end. Maybe poverty and disease would be eliminated."
"Maybe, then it would actually be worth going home." Tyler said.
"No..." Seth said slowly. He sighed and looked into the air stright in front of him.
"... I don't think it would be." He said slowly. For the first time of his entrie stay,he realized they would have to go home. Everything they did here would be in vain.
Shining Armor stood up and bowed before them all.
"If you excuse me,I have to get back to work." He said before turning to face Cadence.
"I'll see you later, babe." He said and walked out from the room.
Tyler,Luna and Celestia returned to their meals, but Seth couldn't help but notice a small frown on Cadence's face.
A few minutes later, and Cadence stood up.
"Excuse me," She said and began to walk out. And Seth who had finished around the time Shining did stood up and followed her out.
"Hey,Cadence, wait up!" He shouted as the large doors closed behind him. The princess turned around and looked at him. At first she had a depressed look on her face, but only for a instant. Her frown quickly turned into a smile, but Seth couldn't help but feel like it was faked.
"Can I help you?" She asked him. Seth walked up beside her and looked at her forced smile, until his own expression became slightly altered.
"You seem upset, what's wrong?" He asked.
"What, ain't a mare allowed to have secrets?" She asked and focused her eyes on his. She saw a strange flicker in his eyes. One that changed from light to dark blue.
"Well,I'm not a pony. So there isn't really a problem in telling me,right?" Seth asked kindly. He got a warm smile on his face, and she couldn't help but feel relaxed as the kind human asked her about her problems.
"I know you feel strange about talking to a entirely new species that you met only a few minutes ago,but please." He paused and kneeled down beside her.
"Tell me,"
Cadence wasn't sure about what to do. She wanted to just deny him and walk away, but something about him made that impossible.
"It..." She began slowly. His smile faded slowly and got replaced by a serious, yet kind expression.
"It's nothing bid really, you shouldn't bother." She said, which made Seth frown.
"It's obviously enough to get bother you,so it's far more than enough for me."
Cadence sighed in defeat, and looked into his eyes again.
"It's just that... Ever since Shining and I got married he's changed. He will rarely compliment me,he never says a full 'I love you',it's always some 'love you, babe' excuse. I don't know,it just feels like I'm more of a trophy to him." Cadence said sincerely.
"This isn't really such a small thing. Have you talked to him?" Seth asked.
"Yes,but he just says he loves me and hurries to work. I just... It just hasn't worked out." She said;as tears began to fill her eyes.
"Hey,I haven't got much experience with things like these, but maybe he just needs some time. But if you really feel like it isn't real, then maybe you should ask for a divorce." Seth said.
"NO!" Cadence shouted loudly, before covering her mouth with her hoof.
"I'm the princess of love,I can't fail a marriage." She said as her tears began to drop down her cheeks.
"Then you if someone should know that love isn't always simple. Princess of love or not, love can take turns,it twists, sometimes it just ends. But that's the way it is,the smartest thing you can do is to just accept it. So if you really feel like this,I think you should suggest a divorce to him,I'm sure he will understand you. Maybe you can work something out." Seth said and brushed her tears away.
Cadence could barely believe herself. She had just told her biggest secret to a alien, and even though she was the princess of love she needed this human's help to finally make up her mind: She's going to tell Shining Armor that she wants a divorce.
Seth stood up again and looked down at the princess.
"You shouldn't keep things like these in. But if you feel uncomfortable talking to ponies-" He stopped and chuckled slightly.
"Then you,re welcome to talk to me." He said. The princess couldn't believe herself. She pressed her head against his chest and cried softly.
"Don't worry princess, everything will work out. You'll see." He said and carefully put a hand on her neck and stroke her mane softly. He looked down at her crying face and smiled.
"Hey," He said and put his hand underneath her chin and tiled her head up towards his.
"Trust me,alright? Everything will be fine,no one's is gonna blame you." He said softly, getting a deep sigh from the princess.
"Thank you,Seth." She said slowly, before reaching up and planting a kiss on his lips before slowly backing away.
Seth watched the princess with a surprised look on his face. She flashed him a quick smile before turning around and walking away.
"Did... She... We just?" He stuttered to himself. He really couldn't believe himself,he really had to toughen up if he didn't want to get into some deep shit.
Seth walked through the castle without any real destination in mind. He came across occasional maids and different high-class ponies, but he rarely wasted his energy on saying hi.
Back on earth he had been a total ass-hole,yet the moment he came to Equestria he felt himself change. Instead of dying to pull off a mean prank,he cares about every single little detail of the lives of ponies he had never even met. He liked the change of heart, but he couldn't help but be a little scared.
He continued his walk until he came to the throne room. He slowly opened the doors and saw Celestia talk to a much smaller purple unicorn. The sound of the door reacher their ears and Celestia looked over at seth.
"Seth, come here for a moment, will you?" Celestia said, and Seth walked over to them.
He stood beside Celestia and looked at the unicorn.
"This is my student,Twilight Sparkle. Shining Armor's younger sister." Celestia said.
"Oh..." Seth said as he thought of his talk with Cadence about him.
"And Twilight, this is one of the humans I told you about,Seth." Celestia said.
"Hello,it's nice to meet you." Twilight said and smiled at him.
"Likewise," He said and bowed slightly.
"Now,I have a request for the two of you." Celestia said, and the two looked up at her.
4-Fire Diamond:part 1-Midnight Bonfire
"Seth, Twilight. Due to recent events we have to believe there is somepony threatening us. I would explain further, but I'm afraid we're running short on time. So I ask for the two of you to travel to Ponyville and await further instructions, understood?" Celestia said.
"yeah, but-..." Seth began, but was interrupted by Celestia.
"The train departs in fifteen minutes, you must hurry!" She said and signaled for them to leave.
Seth and Twilight was in such a hurry neither of them took anything with them, they just ran as fast as they could out off the castle and towards the train station.
They made their way through the crowded streets of Canterlot, getting many strange looks by the high-class ponies.
It took them ten minutes before they reached the train station, and they walked onboard the train. The conductor looked at Twilight and just walked past them, obviously having been told to let them ride for free.
"So, what do you think got Celestia so worked up?" Seth asked.
"I don't know, I've never seen her act like that before." Twilight said.
"Maybe it's because the changelings attacked a few days ago." Seth suggested.
"The changelings attacked Canterlot again?"
"Well, there were three of them harassing a townspony, but your brother and I took care of them." Seth explained.
"You know my brother?"
"Yeah, actually I do." Seth said, and they engaged in a conversation which lasted until they reached Ponyville station.
"Looks like we're here." Twilight said and stood up, quickly followed by Seth. They walked off the train and headed in towards town.
"Uhh, is there any inn or something around here where I can stay?" Seth asked.
"Yes, of course. Let's get you checked in somewhere after we get our instructions from the princess, alright?" Twilight said.
"Yeah, sound good." Seth said and nodded.
They walked through the town, Twilight greeting occasional ponies. They arrived at a large oak with a house hollowed into its trunk.
"This is Ponyville's library, and my home." Twilight said, and opened the door.
"Spike! I'm back." She shouted, and Seth could hear footsteps in the stairs.
"Hello, Twilight... Who's that?" The small dragon asked as he walked up to them.
"Spike, this is Seth. Seth, Spike." Twilight said and introduced them.
"Nice to meet you." Seth said.
"Cool," Spike said and looked at Seth who towered far above him.
Seth, Spike and Twilight sat down in her sofa with a cup of tea each that Spike had fixed for them.
"Ugh," Spike said, before burping up a letter.
"Finally," Twilight said and caught the letter with her magic. She brought it in front if her face and read quietly to herself.
"So, what does it say?" Seth asked. Twilight cleared her throat and took a deep breath.
Dear Twilight,
I want you and Seth to investigate a series of dramatic events in a village not far from Ponyville. This has nothing to do with the changelings, so please stop worrying about that. I expect this to take at least a week, and in the meantime I hope that Seth can stay in the library with you.
'Celestia
Twilight finished and looked at the letter.
"There's a map here as well, there's a village marked that only is only a few kilometers west from here. We should take care of this immediately." She said and looked at Seth, who nodded slowly.
"Yeah, I agree. We shouldn't waste any time. But, did she say what kind of 'dramatic event'?" Seth asked.
"No, she didn't."
"Hmm..."
Seth and Twilight stood outside the library, ready to head towards the village. They began to walk through the town, and Seth looked around at the many different ponies. But he couldn't quite relax. What exactly are we going to find there? He thought to himself.
"There's something strange about this. I have lived here for quite a long time now, yet I have never heard of this village. And Celestia couldn't even name it." Twilight said as they reached the edge of Ponyville.
"Yeah, something's definitely off." Seth agreed.
They walked across the grass plains for an entire hour before Twilight stopped.
"This isn't right. It's impossible we haven't reached it yet. It shouldn't take this long." She said and looked at the map.
"Maybe... Oh god..." Seth said before looking at Twilight with a shocked expression. His eyes flicked brightly blue and he turned his head back towards Ponyville.
"We have to go back!" He shouted and ran faster than he thought he ever could.
With Seth's extraordinary speed it only took fifteen minutes before he was back in Ponyville. Twilight wasn't far behind, but she had been forced to use teleportation spells to keep up with him.
"Oh god." Seth said as he saw the entire village had turned into a blazing inferno of hot flames.
"W-what happened?" Twilight said in disbelief. Seth's shock filled face turned into a angry frown and he ran straight into the town.
"Seth, wait!" Twilight yelled and ran after him.
The hot flames hurt his skin, but he couldn't care. He had to know who was responsible for this.
"Seth, wait up. This is dangerous!" He heard Twilight yell behind him.
"Go look for the ponies, I'll see if I can find whoever started this." Seth said. Twilight could barely hear him over the deafening roar of the fire, but she understood what he wanted. And even though it was reckless and stupid, she did as he said.
Seth wandered around in the burning town, all while having the feeling of being watched.
"H-help!" He heard a feminine voice beside him. He turned his head and saw a light brown pegasus with a dark brown mane who had a large wooden beam over her wing and a thin pole through her left front hoof. She stared as he saw the grotesque wounds on the pony, and he looked into its teary eyes. He hurried to her side and used all the strength he could muster as he tried to move the wooden beam, but he wasn't strong enough.
He sat down with his back against the beam and pushed as hard as he could, but it only moved an inch.
Seth moved away and looked into her teary eyes with his now equally teary eyes.
"No, no no no!" He said and tried to push the beam again, but it weighed way too much for him to move. He saw the house that stood on a few small wall fractions tremble, and the pony looked up at him.
"Thanks..." She said slowly, with a small smile on her face, before the building collapsed on top of her, killing her instantly and almost killing Seth as well, though he only got a thick wooden beam in the head and passed out.
The sun was about to set as Seth woke up again. He could still hear the raging fire around him and he felt a unbelievable pain in the head.
He laid on the warm dirt cluelessly for a few seconds, before his memories came back to him. He couldn't save that mare, because he was weak. A weak human, without the power to do anything.
He laid on the ground and blamed himself for her death, until he heard someone shout his name.
"Seth! Seth, were are you?" He heard, and he reckoned the voice to belong to Twilight.
He slowly got onto his feet and saw the mare on the other side if the collapsed building.
"Twilight, over here." He said, and she looked over at him.
"Seth, thank Celestia you are alive. What happened?" Twilight asked.
"Twilight, are the other ponies safe?" He asked, not planning to tell her about his experience.
"Yes, I think they're all out." Twilight said with a slightly relieved smile.
"Not all..."
5-Fire Diamond:Part 2-Dark Flames
Seth stood beside Twilight as Major Mare counted all the ponies.
"Pinkie Pie?" She asked.
"Here!"
"Dawn Breaker?"
"Here"
"Bright Wing?"
...
"Miss Bright Wing?" Major Mare asked again, but she still didn't get any response.
Seth turned to Twilight and whispered silently.
"Is Bright Wing a pegasus?" He asked.
"Yes, why?" Twilight asked, but Seth didn't answer. Instead he stood up and cleared his throat.
"I'm afraid miss Wing... didn't make it." He said slowly, getting a surprised the gasp from the crowd of ponies.
"Wha-..." Major Mare was at a loss of words. She never expected that somepony would actually die in the fire.
Seth looked down, but in the corner of his eye he spotted something. He turned his head and saw a cloaked pony run away across the grass plains.
"Oh no you don't!" He almost growled before running after the pony, leaving behind a very sad and confused Twilight.
Sett ran after the pony as fast as he could, which quickly proved to be much faster than the pony. He reached the pony relatively quickly and jump-tackled it to the ground.
He pinned the pony to the ground and pulled it's hood off. Only to see a shadow slowly disappear.
"What the?" He asked himself as he looked around. He stood up, with the familiar feeling of being watched. He saw a bright flash behind him, and turned around just in time to see a another bright red flash, before he passed out.
____________________________________________________________________________
Seth felt a cold wind blow against his bare arms, and he shrugged as he opened his eyes. He stared straight into a pair of entirely red orbs. At first he thought it was rubies, but as they moved away he saw that they belonged to a large pony-like creature. The pony was the size of Celestia, with the same color on its coat and a entirely white mane. Though what made Seth stare at it was its eyes. They lacked pupils and looked just like crimson orbs in the pony's head. She also had a long white horn on her head. The only thing that separated her from Celestia was the fact that she didn't have wings and her eyes.
"Greetings, human." It spoke in a strong feminine voice, which led Seth to the conclusion that it was a mare, he would've guessed so earlier by the looks, but you never know. As she spoke he could see a pair of sharp long teeth in her upper jaw, which made her look almost like a vampire. Seth had read about vamponies, but this mare didn't look like the ones the books had described, so he guessed she was of some other race.
"My name is Fire Diamond,I-..."
"You're the one responsible for the fire, aren't you?" Seth interrupted her.
"Why, yes. In fact I am." She said, a grin becoming visible on her face.
"You got a problem with that?" She asked mockingly as she stomped with her right front hoof right beside his head. She leaned closer to him and narrowed her eyes.
"Huh?" She asked mockingly.
Seth could feel his anger boil up within his chest as the mare made fun of the pony she had killed.
"shut up..." He said silently.
"Oh, what was that, I couldn't hear you?"
"Shut... UP!" He shouted and his body erupted in a dark blue glow. His eyes shifted from light to dark blue and they seemed to spit out black and blue flames.
A powerful vortex surrounded them and Fire Diamond looked around as she grew more and more nervous, though it didn't last long.
In the matter of seconds Seth's body had changed completely as rage took over his mind:
The blue glow around Seth's body disappeared in a powerful burst of energy that sent Fire Diamond flying backwards off of him.
The next moment when she looked at him he levitated a meter over the ground and the vortex had formed a dark blue aura around him. The blue flames from his eyes burned several inches to the side of his head and he stared at her with a menacing smile.
Without a word spoken he lifted his arms up and unleashed two powerful beams of magic towards the mare, who couldn't evade both at the same time and was shot backwards and into a thick tree.
Seth flew higher into the air and the aura around him spread further out from his body. His breath showed clearly visible blue smoke as he breathed. He took a deep breath, before hundreds of small magic bolts shot from the entire aura sphere around him. The bolts didn't look like they would do much, but each bolt crashed into the ground and created burning craters with a diameter of almost two meters, so three hundred of those and it makes for quite the devastation.
The bolts stopped firing and slowly began to descend. Be landed on the ground and the aura turned back into the vortex before finally disappearing. Seth's body was entirely drained of energy, and he down so he stood on one knee, while resting his arms on the leg on which he still stood.
He saw Fire Diamond rise to her feet and walk towards him.
"Why?" She asked, a single tear running down her face.
"I only wanted for the princesses to see." She said slowly and dropped to he knees beside him. Seth wanted to take this change and just kill the mare, but he couldn't. No matter how much he hated her this mare still had a life, which she could change if she really wanted to.
"To see what?" Seth asked slowly as he sat down beside her. He looked into the air in front of him. He couldn't believe it. Just a minute ago he had tried to kill this mare, now he sat down beside her, sad because he had caused her pain.
"I only wanted them to see what... What they had done. How they made others feel." She said slowly, gaining Seth's uttermost curiosity.
"They are the cause of my entire village's death." She said slowly and stood up.
"What?" Seth asked as he looked at the large mare.
"You searched for a village outside Ponyville, the reason you couldn't find it is that Celestia ordered her guards to burn it down. She killed all the ponies in the village... all except... me." She said slowly.
Seth stood up beside the mare, and looked at her carefully.
"I doubt the princes would do something like that. I'm sure there is a reasonable explanation for all this." Seth said and put a careful hand on her back.
"You don't know anything!" She hissed angrily. He retracted his hand and backed away.
"I'm sorry. I know it's not my place to speak, but uhh... I'm really sorry. Both for what happened to you before and for what I did here now. "I'm truly sorry." He said and bowed before her.
Seth sat beside the strange mare. He couldn't decide if he hated her or if he actually felt sorry for her. He glanced towards her, and saw her depressed look.
"Hey, Fire. How about this; if you give me three days to prove to you that the princesses are good, then you will stop all this nuisance. If I fail, then..." He stopped and thought for a moment.
"Then we'll become partners in crime, alright?" He finally asked while laughing at himself.
"... Deal," She said slowly and looked at the man. Just what is he planning?
