An amnesiac human mage named Dusk Shine wakes up in a world of anthropomorphic ponies, and is accompanied by a "Spirit Guardian", a quadrupedal breezie named Surprise. Together they embark on a journey to regain his lost memories.

His first stop is a humble little town called Ponyville... but when he meets a pony that strangely resembles himself, only female (and an anthro pony for that matter), doubts begin to form in his mind, telling him that he may not even be in his own universe!

With the help of Twilight Sparkle and her friends, will Dusk Shine ever be able to regain his memories, and more importantly, return home?
