The Harmonic Oath

Twilight tapped Spike, who was cuddled up in his bed, but his blanket not wrapped around him. Spike rubbed his eyes and hopped out of bed.

''Come on, Spike,'' said Twilight. ''Get yourself together. We don't want to be late for the Summer Sun Celebration, because this marks the fact it's the 1-year anniversary of the time we defeated Nightmare Moon and met our friends.''

''I remember you putting my blanket in the wash room,'' Spike mumbled. ''Now would be a good time to fetch it.''

''Oh, yeah... I almost forgot.'' Twilight levitated a blue blanket off of her clothsline as they went outside.

''Come to papa--'' Spike tried to grab the blanket, but Twilight levitated away from his grabbing distance.

''We can't take your blanket to the festival,'' Twilight said, '''cause this needs to stay here. You don't want it to get lost, do you?''

Spike crossed his arms. ''Fine.''

Twilight grinned and levitated the blanket neatly onto Spike's bed. Spike tried to run towards it, but Twilight held him back with her hoof.

''Spike, we're already late,'' Twilight said, in reply to his action. ''You'll see the blanket later.''

''As in tomorrow.''

''Spike!'' Twilight dragged Spike with her magic across the Ponyville village. ''Now we're later than ever. I hope the Princess and my friends can forgive me.'' Spike grunted.

''Let go of me!'' he complained. Twilight dropped him. Spike stared at her blankly and frowned. But then he smiled and said, ''Hey, we're here already!''

''Huh?''

Twilight looked around. Streamers and ribbons were placed neatly onto the Summer Sun Celebration location, Ponyville Tower. Ponies were eagerly trotting inside, and from the corner of her eye, Twilight saw her 5 friends next to the door.

''Sorry I'm late, everypony,'' said Twilight. ''Terribly sorry.''

''That's okay,'' said Rainbow Dash. ''The Celebration hasn't even started yet. It won't start for about another 3 minutes.''

''I would have got here ten minutes ago,'' Twilight said, ''but Spike--'' She stared at Spike then looked back at her friends. ''--Spike wouldn't hurry up to get ready.''

''That's fine, Twi,'' said Applejack, ''Apple Bloom wouldn't get up either.''

Apple Bloom, who sat next to Applejack, smiled sheepishly. Her face turned slightly red, then white.

''I couldn't fall asleep,'' the filly explained. ''The Crusaders and I tried to have a staying-up-late contest, and after we finally went lights out, I couldn't fall asleep.''

''I don't blame you,'' said Twilight. ''As a filly, I couldn't fall asleep either. The excitement of the Summer Sun Celebration just kept me up half the night. Every year.''

''As long as you're here,'' Pinkie Pie said, ''and the Celebration hasn't start yet, we should go chow down!''

''I thought that comes after the Celebration,'' Applejack said.

''Like it even matters,'' Rainbow said, nudging Applejack and grinning.

''Um, okay?'' Twilight said as she watched Pinkie, Applejack, and Rainbow trot to the food table. She looked at a yellow mare, Fluttershy. ''I can't wait to hear your birds sing, Fluttershy! I'm sure they'll do as good as last year.''

''Thanks, Twilight,'' said Fluttershy. ''But it's not my birds singing this year.'' Twilight raised her eyebrow.

''No?''

''Rarity offered her yard birds to sing this year.''

''Um...'' Twilight looked at the stage. ''Hey, the Celebration's starting!''

The chatter in the audience quieted down as Rarity's birds sang their opening tune. The spotlight moved onto the Mayor of Ponyville.

''Fillies and gentlecolts...'' the mayor said. ''We are proud to have you here today. As you all know, the Summer Sun Celebration is a festival regarding the longest day of the year!''

Cheering came from the audience.

''Here we will have our beloved Princess of Equestria raise the sun to bring forth the special day,'' the mayor went on, ''so, without further ado, here is our Princess of the Celebration, Princess Celestia!''

The curtains opened, but the space was empty. Dark. Alicorn-less.

''For the second year in a row?!'' Rainbow yelled. Murmurs scattered through the audience.

''There must be an explaination for this,'' the mayor said. ''This can't be happening again.''

''Maybe Nightmare Moon's loose again!'' called a voice from the audience. Twilight's heart raced at the thought.

''I don't think so,'' said Twilight, with the courage to speak out. ''I promise I'll find out what's happening. Don't worry.''

She ran out the doors, with her friends chasing after her.

''Twilight! Take us with you!'' Applejack said.

''No,'' Twilight replied. ''I'm doing this quest by myself. Don't worry about a thing. Tell the audience and the Mayor to relax while I get things straightened out.''

Her friends nodded and ran back into the tower.

***

As soon as Twilight arrived in Canterlot, she pushed open Celestia's castle doors. The Princess stood staring out her windows, back turned away from Twilight.

''Princess Celestia?!'' Twilight exclaimed. ''Why aren't you at the Celebration?''

''I can't go, can't take my eyes off the land,'' said Celestia. ''He has returned.''

''He who?''

''King Sombra.'' Celestia turned around at looked at Twilight.

"What?!'' Twilight's eyes seethed with rage and hope. ''But-- How?''

''King Somber has enough power, but not enough to beat the Crystal Heart. After his defeat, a powerful spell unlocked the full power of himself, causing him more power than ever.'' Twilight looked outside.

"I don't see anything wrong with Equestria.''

''Not now, but after King Sombra finds out you, Spike, and Princess Cadance live here in Equestria... It will be all over. The only way to protect Equestria is to unlock the power of the Diamond Ponies.''

''The... Diamond Ponies?''

''A thousand years ago, they spoke the Harmonic Oath. It gave them the power to defeat anything. But what they didn't know was that the Oath sent out a spell that spread through the whole realm of the Diamond Empire, causing them to fall asleep for a thousand years.''

''Does that mean they've returned?''

''Yes.''

''Then... I have to find the Diamond Realm before Somber returns and corrupts Equestria. You need to get to Ponyville Tower, raise the sun, and tell my friends what I'm doing and where I'm going. It's not too late to raise the sun, it's only 5:30 in the morning.''

''Very well.'' Celestia walked to the doors. ''Oh, and before you leave, here's a map.'' Celestia tossed a scroll to Twilight. ''The most important thing you'll need to know where you're going.''

''Alright. You'd better get to Ponyville quick!''

''No worries. I'll teleport. Good luck, Twilight. Are you sure you're capable of handling this situation?''

''Mm-hmm.''

''Then go. The fate of Equestria is in your hooves.''

''Don't worry. I'll find the Diamond Realm in time.''

Celestia's horn glowed and in a flash, she was gone.

Reaching The Diamond Realm

The train had passed Ponyville, and the Crystal Empire on its way to the broader of Equestria and the Diamond Realm. It had been five hours since the train had departed from the Crystal Empire train station.

"Well... This looks promising."  Twilight stated as she looked at the map Princess Celestia had given her. "I hope King Sombra doesn't get there before I can."

That was a hope could happen... only slightly. Twilight knew she couldn't let Celestia down or the Diamond Ponies for matter. She had to succeed... she just had to.

The train came to a stop after 20 more minutes, Twilight guessed the train reached the of the tracks. But instead for reason the door to her cabin was locked, she couldn’t open it, and she couldn’t escape. She looked around her cabin, spotting in the window she had been sitting by the whole train ride, the face of a pony. Whoever this pony was he/she was running for her, thinking quickly Twilight used her magic to open the window so the pony get without breaking something he/she couldn’t replace.

Leaping as far its legs would allow the pony jumped through the open window and into Twilight’s cabin on the Friendship Express. The pony landed on the bed hard but the mattress cushioned the pony’s leap, Twilight looked closely at the pony is was a filly. The filly looked just  like with only three differences; a gray coat, yellow and blue stripes in her mane/tail. Twilight locked eyes with the filly who was looking at like she a princess, the filly jumped off the bed landing in front of Twilight with wide eyes.

“Who are you? “ The filly asked her eyes still locked with Twilight’s.

“I’m Twilight Sparkle, and I’m from Equestria.“ Twilight said proudly. “Who are you?”

“I’m Twilight Skies, and I’m from the Diamond Realm.” The filly answered without fear nor anger. “It’s an honor to meet you, Twilight sparkle.”

“The  honor is mine Twil-” Twilight was cut off of  by little Twilight Skies. “Please, call me Skies.”

“Alright. And you can call me Sparkle, if you want.”

“Ok, Ms.Sparkle.”

“Just Sparkle, please. Now Skies, you did say you’re from the Diamond Realm, did you not?”

“Yes I did.”

“Can you lead me there, please?”

“Of course”

Skies jumped  out of the window with Sparkle following close behind, the two trudged through the knee-high snow. Skies was up to her neck in snow, Sparkle stopped so Skies could get on her back and direct her to the Diamond Realm. An eerie howl startling the both of them, “Uh-oh… RUN!” Skies shouted wanting to be far away the sound as possible.

Sparkle knew that sound from her trip to the Crystal Empire, it was King Sombra. Thinking quickly levitated herself and Skies into the air, putting more magic into another spell that made her, wings of light and magic would help them get away. They soared high above the snow-covered ground Skies shouted directions to Sparkle they had to lose that evil pony in their dust.

“Hurry! The shield’s just ahead!” Skies shout as loud as she could over the high speed of the wind around them. Sparkle focused more magic into her spell-made wings, she sensed the shield from in front of her and followed  the magic trace Skies had left behind. Sparkle was really tired from all of the magic she had been using to power her spell, as they passed through the shield protecting the Diamond Realm Sparkle crash-landed while unconscious from the overuse of her magic.

The Legend Of The Diamond Princess

Skies was by Sparkle’s side in minutes, sore all over her underside from the crash-landing. Her vision blurred, her ears rang and her head felt heavy. Skies managed to say a poem that she remembered being said from the Diamond Princess’s own mouth, Skies believed that Sparkle was her Princess, she just didn’t know it yet.

“The star are very beautiful,

above the place walls.

they shine with equal splendour,

Still above far humbler halls.

I watch them from my window

but their bright enchanting glow

Reminds of the freedom I gave up so long ago.”

Skies passed out right after she was done with the poem, little did they know three dark shadows had found when Skies recited the poem. Two carried Sparkle while the other carried Skies none spoke nor once looked at each other, they just carried the two identical females to the Diamond Kingdom. The stallion took Skies to the guards so they could deal with her, the mares took Twilight to the place so they could find out why she was here and why she looked just like their lost princess. Sparkle was placed in the Princess’s Royal Quarters, a book was left on the nightstand for her to read before she left the room to explore the castle.

Twilight Sparkle woke after several hours of her magic rebuilding itself, she would need her magic for later. Sparkle noticed the a on the nightstand on  her left, her eyes lit up as she finally had something read before she would explore this place. Levitating the book in front her she open the book to the first page, and began to read.

“‘The Diamond Princess-’” Sparkle began before a crash out made her stop, look around and made her start over. “Ok. ‘The Diamond Princess of The Diamond Kingdom. Once upon a very long time ago, two thousand years in fact, there was once an extraordinary kingdom. This kingdom stretched as far as the eye could see. Its stone buildings were glistening; even the actual castle was glistening with morning dew that for some reason, never quite dried out but this kingdom had a dark secret. A unicorn wanted to take over and keep it all for himself. But the :Princess of the kingdom protested against it.

There was a fierce battle and the Princess was forced to flee. Eventually the Princess happened upon Equestria, for you see, the Diamond Kingdom was somewhere in the north, even further than the Crystal Empire and, deciding to keep her identity hidden, she made a new one for herself. Her new name was Crystal Twilight. She couldn’t change her cutie mark so she always wore a cloak made of silk the colour deepest purple.

Eventually she settled down and she passed this story of how she was defeated to her daughter, from mother to daughter, this was the way. Through the ages this information was lost as the generations kept forgetting bit by bit their true heritage.’” Sparkle stopped reading and looked over on the next page. There was no writing on this side but there was a drawing of what the Princess looked like. She gasped.

“She looks just like me! But how is this possible?”  Sparkle exclaimed in her mind. Sparkle was just too shocked to speak. She sat her head down on the mattress and stared vacantly at the drawing.

It took a long time, almost fifty minutes for Sparkle to calm down as the time drug on there was pony standing in the doorway Seeing her in pure shock the mare knew the remedy for a shocked pony even their princess became that way, singing was the remedy for this lavender mare.

“Just when you think,

Hope is lost and giving up Is all you got...

Blue turns black,

Your confidence is cracked

sometimes there isn’t an obvious explanation

Why the holiest hearts can feel the strongest palpitations

What’s when you can build a bridge of light

That’s what turns the wrongs all right

That’s what you can’t give up the fight

That’s when love turns nighttime into day

That’s when loneliness goes away

That’s why you gotta be strong tonight

Only love can build us a bridge of Light.”

The mare standing in the doorway went to the bedside, and hugged Sparkle to comfort her. Sparkle accepted the hug of comfort hugging back her hope had picked up so much, that she failed to notice her coat began to glimmer and shine like the diamonds around the two mares. The mare hugging Sparkle did notice and knew that this lavender mare was indeed their Princess.

The Need To Protect and Defend (Edited)

Solara Star had been the pony who had sung to Sparkle,  she hadn't failed to notice the lavender mare's coat when it had begun to glimmer and shine like the diamonds around them. She smiled at this sight, suddenly memories from before King Sombra came back she spotted transparent wings on Sparkle's back. Solara knew she had seen those wings before... But where?

Then it became clear, Solara herself had been an attendant to the Diamond Princess, this mare in front of her and their lost princess we're one in the same. Sparkle began to notice the differences in her coat now as she stared into the vanity mirror near the bed which she sat in front of. She also she how much taller she was, and the transparent wings on her back. Her horn was longer as well as pointer, the magic from that hug she had accepted from Solara must've triggered something inside her. She just had to find out what that was and how to make it stronger before Sombra could get his hooves on these ponies... Her ponies, wait what? Why was she saying that these ponies were her responsibility to watch over and care for?

Sparkle looked to Solara, who had a ash-red coat, a dawn-light colored mane, with wings that matched both her coat and mane giving them a Spark-like effect. Solara had been the pony that sang and hugged her, making her feel welcome to the Realm. There was the crack of a whip, the screams of a filly... Skies! Sparkle heard Skies scream when they were escaping King Sombra's shadow form, Skies was in trouble and needed her aid. Sparkle ran out the doors to the Princess’s Royal Quarters, down the halls to the main entrance of the palace. Several ponies looked her when she had burst through the palace doors, another scream caught everypony's attention as a guard used a whip on a grey coated filly with yellow and blue stripes in her mane. The filly had her back facing the guard with the whip, while another guard read something that sounded like a bunch of crimes she had committed against her kind.

"For bringing a stranger and the evil that follows her, Twilight Amondra Skies... You are to receive 10 lashes, for all the harm you have brought with you." The guard reading the scroll said, as the guard raised the whip to strike Skies' back which had been struck so many times already you couldn't keep track of the lashes.

"NO!!!" Sparkle yelled she got in front of the whip that was meant for Skies' back, gaining her a lash across the face. Everypony couldn't believe what just happened, this strange mare had just defended a child that broke their laws. The Head Guard, a blood-red pony with a pale silver mane came out to what all of this commotion was about and that he saw... her. That lavender coat that was sketched into his mind like branded mark, his ears picked up the sound of whimpering and his gaze turned to the so called  criminal in their presence, Twilight Amondra Skies.

"Release the filly... " The Head Guard said giving the lavender mare a helping hoof, as Solara got Skies down gently and safely.

"But Dawn Moon, that is getting what she deserves! That mare has no right on interfering!"

"If you hurt that filly you'll have hurt me first! No pony deserves to be punished that way, unless it is the law of this Kingdom!" Sparkle stated in a harsh tone that held authority, wisdom, and many other things that her sound like a princess.

"And who in the hoof are you, stranger?" asked the pony who had used the whip on Skies and Sparkle.

"My name is Twilight Amondra Sparkle." Sparkle answered her tone hadn't changed once since being helped to her hooves.

"She looks just... just like Crystal Twilight, our lost princess." A villager remarked seeing the heroism that this mare had done, she took a whipping to the face just to save a filly. The other villagers took notice of the first one had said, and a foal approached the lavender mare. The foal was a colt, who wanted to see the mare up close out of nowhere he gave her a hug around the leg. Surprising Everypony but Sparkle, Skies, and Solara.  Sparkle hugged the colt back out of love, care, and the need to protect.

The Book of the Ages

Skies and Sparkle were taken to the medics after the whole 'Princess' fiasco, the villagers were more than happy to have their princess back and they could be at peace after 3,000 long years of slavery. Sparkle had been told by Solara that the Royal Archives had the book that would not give Sparkle her memories back, but also give her everything she needed to know about the Realm itself. Twilight Sparkle needed that book, (And because she had to read it for her love of reafing) she needed to know why she was only bits and pieces of her old life. Solara lead the way with Skies on her back, she knew that Sparkle wouldn't leave anypony behind, unless if it was herself.

The Royal Archives were heavily guarded just in any anypony thought of stealing the Princess's books, everypony now knew who their princess was, the guards didn't have to look at Sparkle to know who she was. The doors were opened in minutes, since Dawn Moon, the Head Guard, was with them. The doors opened to reveal the mother of rooms in the palace, the Archives themselves took up nearly half of the walls, tables and chairs were seen in various places in the massive room. There was a gate that blocked off half of the room, the Restricted Secession, that's where the rarest and most valuable books were placed and remained there until now.

Dawn opened the gate to the Restricted Secession, the book that this group of four were was just sitting on pedestal right in front of them. Sparkle knew they couldn't just grab the book,  she knew the rule of Traps and Threes, an alarm had been placed on the pedestal to protect the book.

"I don't like this... You two know the rule of Traps and Threes?" Sparkle asked the two ponies behind her, they nodded not fully understanding what she was getting at. "Some Traps always come in Threes, like this pedestal. It has only Three marking on it not four, which is this book is protected by the spell of Traps and Threes."

Solara and Dawn glancing at their Princess, then at the book.  They noticed the pattern on the pedestal that seemed to be pointing toward it.  "... you're right.  This just too obvious."

The three ponies circled from opposite sides of the room, looking over it.  Sparkle  paused after making one circuit, and glancing out the windows over the Diamond Kingdom. The shield flicked, and the black clouds were surrounding it, waiting for their moment to pounce.

"We've got to disable that spell on the book."

"But how?"

"Hey, Bright Eyes... Look there." Dawn said ponting to the diamond above the book, Dark Magic encasing the gem.

"Dark Magic... so, let's try this!"  Sparkle grinned, her horn sparking its normal color then brightening.  A bolt of white struck the gem, shifting its color. The Dark Magic left the gem, disabling the trap setting the book free, Sparkle grabbed in her magic. When she tried to open the book, she found it was locked.

The lock was special, it would only open to those who had designed this lock and if the speaker said the right words. While Fawn and Solara tried to find a place to lay Skies down, Sparkle had got the book to open, the key was her age; 3,500 years. She was older than Princess Celestia herself, but Sparkle knew why... She had lead the Diamond Ponies away from the Dragon Kingdom of ClawenScale, to find a safe place her people. They traveled for 11long months, finally reaching their destination the Diamond Fields.

The Diamond Fields stretched farther then their eyes could see, they in the southern end of the Fields,  where their home now stood. As the Diamond Princess, Crystal Amondra Night, Twilight Amondra Sparkle's original name, needed to keep her people protected. As she scanned the diamonds around her, she spotted what looked like a crown base just without the gem on it.  Using her magic to bring the crown to her face, the crown glowed as if it had found the only pony that could be trusted with it knowledge. Crystal was lifted off of the ground as crown placed itself on her head, she arose higher and higher into the air to the point the light around her was the only thing you could see. There was a bright flash, from the beneath the floating princess a kingdom grew from the ground, the Diamond Kingdom had been found at last. The flash died down as Crystal's hooves touched solid ground, her body glimmers and shined as if it was out of the diamonds around the ponies. Crystal had earned the title 'The Diamond Princess', as her ponies earned their title 'The Diamond Ponies', and that's how the Diamond Kingdom came to be.

Sparkle was speechless on that she had just read from the Book of Ages, she had found the Diamond Kingdom, saved her ponies from dragons, and had even earned her place in this world over 3,499 years ago. She had find the Diamond Crown, that is what kept the shield up the Diamond Ponies safe, and held the powers she once had all those years ago safely within itself.

The Crown of Power (Edited)

Sparkle's mind flooded with memories from her previous life, after her rule over the Diamond Ponies ended somepony had hidden the Diamond Crown (Crown of Power) somewhere in the palace, she just didn't know where. Skies had awoken from the sleep gas the doctors had given to her, she hugged Sparkle for saving her from more pain that would've been given to her if Sparkle hadn't stepped in. She also hugged Solara and Dawn for helping Sparkle save her.

"Skies do you know where the Crown of Power was placed after my banishment?" Sparkle asked hoping that Skies had the answers she needed.

"Believe it or not, yes. The Dark King made me place it where no pony would found it, he even  thought of whipping my memory of  placing the Crown where he had commanded. But he didn't... he thought, that you, Princess..." Skies threw a bow in before continuing, "...Would never return nor live through the battle he won against you."

"That's nice to know Skies, But where did you put the Crown?"

"In one of the palace's three spires, and there's only that sits above the throne room. The middle spire, the main spire."

There was a loud thud, somepony must've fallen Skies saw Sparkle on the floor her right up, her breathing was ragged. The shield had almost fallen, if not for her. Sparkle was the one the shield was feeding off of for energy, and they never even knew it. Solara held her lady's hoof as she lowered her head to hear what her lady was trying to say.

"Solara take Skies and Dawn to the throne room, and find the Crown before I'm powerless because of the shield protecting us all." Sparkle's voice was weak, tried, and she wouldn't last much longer without the Crown that had been hidden by the filly who was with the three adults.

"We will, my lady." Solara spoke softly, she let go of the Princess's hoof and turning to the two ponies behind her.

"Skies we have to find the Crown before our princess loses all of her power."

"Lady Sparkle won't be able to..." Skies started before she realized what that meant, she ran for the doors if the Archives, and shouting to the slacking ponies beside the princess. "Come on! We don't have much time to work with!"

Dawn commanded the two guards posted at the doors to get their princess the main balcony of the palace. Dawn soon caught up the two females at the throne room doors, they entered the room everything looked like nothing had be tampered with. Skies however, she closed her eyes, tilting her head.  She tried to recall anything from the Princess' last words that could help.  "This isn't Sombra's castle.  But he did rule from here.  If he's anything like the slaves he'd want to keep things close, to keep an eye on it.  Especially if the Crown of Power is the focus... he'd want to ensure he was corrupting it."  She opened her eyes, glancing at the throne.  "It's in here."

Dawn glanced over.  "Where?"

Skies pointed to a diamond behind the throne.  "Our Princess gave me a clue!  Something like that!"

Her horn began to glow, but not with its normal ice blue-tinted light.

"Skies!"  Solara stepped back in shock.

Skies opened her eyes and hit the diamond with the dark spell.  It began to glow in turn, casting a terrible black shadow that stretched across the throne room's floor.  As it moved, its darkness revealed a hidden stairwell right in front of the throne.

Skies eased off the spell, and smiled.  "Jackpot."

"Skies..."

"I'm okay."  She set her jaw.  "Just something Crystal showed me.  Let's go."  She led the way down the stairs.

"When we get done with this..." Dawn started, following the girls down the stairs to find her staring at at closed door. "I'm going to insist on no more adventures.  We got our Princess to worry about, after all."

"I'm with you on that one, Dawn.  This must be it."  She opened the door-

.....

"NO!"

"Skies!"  Solara grabbed her, shaking her.  "Skies!  Are you okay?!"

The filly in question jerked in her arms, looking around, panting heavily.  "Wha-what?"  Seeing her kinsman, she latched onto them, holding to them tightly. "Solara!"

"Skies!  What happened?"  Dawn  held her, gently rocking her as tears began to stain Solara's fur.

"I'm... I'm okay.  I think..."  She still remained her arms.  "It was like my nightmare... but real."

Dawn glanced at the door, his horn glowing to push it the rest of the way closed.  "It must've been trapped."

"It was.  Dark magic... it was..."  Skies shook her head, burying her face in her chest.  "A doorway that leads to your worst fears, your nightmares."

"Shhh... you're okay now.  I'm here."  Solara held her for a minute longer before she pushed away.

Skies glared daggers at the doorway.  "There must be a way to disable it."  She spotted a diamond above its top.

"Huh." Solara and Dawn followed her gaze, spotting it as well.  "I'm seeing a pattern here."

"Dark Magic... so, let's try this!"  Skies grinned, her horn sparking its normal color then brightening.  A bolt of white struck the diamond, shifting its color. Dawn and Solara looked the door over, exchanged looks with Skies, then opened it.

Beyond were stairs, in a rather brighter-colored room, wrapping around a pillar stretching what could only be the height of the palace spire.

"Woah."  Dawn followed Skies inside as the two unicorns and a one pugsus looked around.

"Well, this is promising."

"We'll never climb to the top in time, Sky."

"Come on, Dawny  This entire thing is about faith."  Skies started up the stairs.  "We have to have faith in ourself, in our friends, in our family."  The three ponies continued to climb up the spiraling ramp.  "Without that faith... darkness can consume us.  Its what happened to the guards..."  She frowned.  "... what nearly happened to me."

"That thing still haunts you, doesn't it, Skies?"  Dawn quickly trotted up to her side.

"And not you two?"

Solara set her jaw.  "Yeah.  Yeah, it does."

"We have to keep going."  Skies took a deeb breath and concentrated on the climb for another full minute.  "I think its one of the reasons Crystal insisted we find the Crown."

"Something like 'group therapy' on the battlefield?"

"Something like that, maybe..."  Skies smiled.  "But it won't stop any of us from having some rather harsh words when our princess kicked the Dark King's flank."

"I'm with you there, Sky."  Dawn smiled.

Skies slowed and glanced up. She walked to the edge and tilted her head to glance up the side.

"You think this may be a third trap?  They do come in three's, you know."

"Hmm?"  Skies was busy studying the spire. "A doorway hidden unless you knew about magic, a boobytrapped door that leads you to your worst fears, why not a set of stairs to infinity?"

"One way to find out."  Skies grinned.

Solara lifted a forehoof to her.  "You have that look again.  The one that has an insane plan."

"Hold onto me."

"Well..."  She blushed.

Skies let out a huff of frustration before they grabbed her and lighting her horn.  "If Sun Rise's antics are any indication... this is going to be fun!"

"Huh?"

Dawn and Solara had just enough time to get a look of absolute confusion on their faces before gravity reversed itself.  Skies twisted her body in midair, landing on all four hooves, facing down a long, spiraling slide.  It took a moment before she found the right list to lean into the curves to avoid flying off the edge, with the two adults holding onto her as if they we're.

"This filly is absolutely insane!"  Solara yelled in surprise.

"I know.  Sun Rise's got her certificate framed on the mantle!"  Skies smirked.

I'm not done yet.  I'm not going to fail. I'm going to get this Diamond Crown, heal my home, and perhaps myself, then go hug my lady!

No more nightmares...

.....

"WOOOHOOO!"  Skies fired her horn was the three popped out of the entrance to the top of the stairs, landing on all fours before smirking at the two adults who landed in a lump at her side.  "You okay?"

"Oh, I'm perfectly normal.  My pride, however, has been killed-in-action, please send me the condolences..."  They sat upright, shaking themselves off before standing.  "Skies!"  He pointed in surprise.

The Diamond Crown, just as they remembered, hovered before them in the center of the tallest part of the palace spire.

"... I think we found it, Dawn, Solara..."  Skies stepped forward, eyes shining with a twinkle of diamond magenta as she stared at a crown carved out of brilliant colored diamonds, the shade of which was remiscant of Skies' eyes.

"Wait!"  Dawn latched onto her tail with his magic.  "Remember what I said about traps and threes?"

Skies paused, glancing at him, then at the Diamond Crown.  She noticed the pattern on the floor that seemed to be pointing toward it.  "... you're right.  Like everything else, this is just too obvious."

The three ponies circled from opposite sides of the room, looking over it.  Skies paused after making one circuit, and glancing out the alcoves over the Diamond Kingdom.

The shield was flicking again, and the black clouds were surrounding it, waiting for their moment to pounce.

"Dawn! Solara! We're running out of time!"

Dawn scowled out at Sombra, Solara scowled at the heart.  "Then I guess we just have to go for broke."  Dawn took a running leap, as Solara flew for the Crown.

"Dawn! Solara!"

With the sound of glass shattering, the room was suddenly filled with blackness.  Spikes shoved upward, growing from the floor itself in a ring around the Diamond Crown.  Knocked to one side by the sudden triggering of the trap spell, Skies shook the dizziness and spots from her vision to sit up.  "Solara! Dawn!"

"We're okay!" Dawn voice came from the other side.  "We're sort of pinned in here, but we're  all right!  Do you see the Diamond  Crown?"

Skies looked around in concern, finding it laying at her feet.  "Its here! I got it!"

"Good... you know what to do."

She looked up at the line of black crystals.  "What about you?"

"I'll be fine, Sky.  You can get Solara and I out of here once that Sombra jerk is dealt with."

Skies nodded sadly.  Dawn had a point.  "Okay.  I'll be coming back for you both."

"Good.  Give that sucker a punch in the nose for us, will ya?" Solara asked.

Skies grinned.  "I will."  She levitated up the Crown and turned toward the nearest alcove.  Getting up was a pain, but getting down?

The Diamond Princess's Return (Edited)

Getting up was a pain, but getting down?

In the distance the shield failed - it was now urgent she do so as quick as possible.

Skies walked around the outer ledge until she could look down and see the balcony on which Sparkle was laying sprawled out, exhaustion having taken its toll.  The lavender princess was ringed by the kingdom guards, ready to defend her from the black mass that started to advance forward.

"... as Dawn said, go for broke..." Skies took a leap off the spire.

Her horn flared brightly, guiding her descent.  From her vantage in mid-air she could see the black crystals overtaking the city.  Riding one that was growing straight for the palace she could see a black, badly corrupted unicorn, riding atop it like a beast of burden.  His eyes were set on Sparkle and her kind.

No.  Not again.  This time my Lady won't be so easily defeated.

She used her magic to nudge herself toward a nearby black crystal that was nearly touching the palace and slid along it, holding the Diamond Crown aloft.

"Hay, Mister McSnooty!"  She shouted, waving the Diamond  Crown before her and drawing the dark unicorn's attention.  "Come and get me!"  She leapt onto another black crystal, sliding away from him around the backside of the castle.

Honesty.

She has admitted she has a problem.

Kindness.

Her kind needed her help.

Loyalty..

She had to protect her friends.

Generosity.

She was going to place herself between Sombra and her princess.

Laughter.

... and she was going to enjoy every minute of it.

She bounced from one black crystal to the other, finally landing on the balcony, her horn glowing a brilliant white which shot out a blinding white sphere to strike the crystal Sombra was riding on.  She grinned as, as she had hoped, it snapped cleanly.  Sombra actually looked down in surprise, before shooting her a hate-filled glare, then fell.  The collapsing spire deposited the black unicorn unceremoniously onto a street a block or so from the palace.

Skies turned to Sparkle.  "I found it!  Quick, that won't delay him for long!"

Sparkle was already climbing to her hooves, smiling at the Diamond Crown as if it was her long-lost savior.  She plucked it onto her herd and her wings appeared, allowing her to fly down to the ground level in the midst of the panicking Diamond Ponies.

"The Crown of Power has returned. Use the light and love within you to ensure that the darkness does not!"  The Princess announced triumphantly, holding the Crown aloft on her head as magic slowly regrew.  All around her the Diamond Ponies stopped their panic, looking on in awe before bowing to their true ruler.  From the center of the crowd outward, a white glow spread, washing over everypony and everything, vaporizing the black crystals.

From the black cloud surrounding the city, there was a roar of pain and surprise. When the light faded out, Skies opened her eyes. Light her physical form, her heart was a reflective glow of peace. But this victory was far from being won for the Diamond Princess.

The Diamond Princess V.S. The Dark King

The Diamond Princess was back, Skies went to get Solara and Dawn with the Diamond Princess following her. Princess Twilight Amondra Sparkle wasn't going to let any one of her subjects get after she only just returned home. Dawn and Solara hugged each for helping Skies save their home, and Skies hugged the both of them for their help. When they saw their princess fully restored back to health, they bowed before but she raised a hoof to stop them.

"Now is not the time for showing respect, my friends." Princess Twilight said calmly,  her showed fear and pain. "Dawn fetch my armor, alert the guard to get everypony inside their homes and keep them there."

"Yes, My Lady." Dawn threw in a bow before leaving with his orders.

"Solara, Skies..." Princess Twilight turned to the other two females in the room.

"Yes, My Princess ?" Both asked ready to do their part.

"Skies place the Book of the Ages back in the Archives, and Solara I'll need your help getting my armor on. Skies once you're done with your task join us in the throne room."

"Yes princess." Both females said bowing deep for forgiveness, which the Princess would return later after battle.

~~~~~~
King Sombra was furious, the Diamond Princess had returned, and it was all because of that filly Twilight Amondra Skies. He should have whipped het memories clean, everyone of them and replace them with what he wanted her to remember. The Dark King felt something familiar in his heart as voice reached his mind.
"You cannot escape The Diamond Princess now, Dark Light."
"SHUT UP! You stupid Prince, that idiotic Princess will pay... With Her Life!"
"No!!! You. Will. Not. Touch. Her."
"You're in love with her aren't you?"
"When I'm free, I will kill you personally. I promise you that."
"Sure you will. After I kill that mare first."
"You will not lay one hoof on her, as long as I am here."
"You stupid boy!!! You're ridiculous Prince Sombra! I will get my revenge on Princess Twilight Amondra Sparkle, or should I say Princess Crystal Amondra Twilight."
"If you so much as dare touch her, I'll tare you limb from limb!"
~~~~~~

Princess Twilight Amondra Sparkle, or Crystal Amondra Twilight felt Prince Sombra's presence within herself she closed her eyes and directed her focus inwards to her heart. She looked around to find Prince Sombra standing off to her left facing her,  his face was one of great sarrow and dispare. Twilight was horrified to see him in the ghost like form he now possessed.

"Prince Sombra? What happened to you? Why are you like this?" Twilight asked gesturing to the form he was in,  Sombra closed his eyes before opening them again to reveal ice blue pupils held within red iris.

"I'm sorry for what has happened to the Diamond Realm and the Crystal Empire. I never meant for any of it, the day when you became gravely ill I felt so angry that the darkness around us began to consume my soul and locked my spirit in my heart. The darkness calls itself Dark Light, the Lord of Dark Magic. I had never touched any tome on that kind of Magic nor did I ever want to, but I was cursed with Dark Magic inside me. Twilight I won't let Dark Light hurt you or lay one hoof on you as long as I'm around to do something about it. ....Twilight, I love you..."

When Prince Sombra finished speaking Twilight's expression went from scared to shocked.

"How long have you felt this way for me?" Twilight asked feeling herself blush a little although you couldn't see it clearly.

"Ever since we met." Sombra answered honestly as if his heart was put into those words. "What about you, Twilight?.

"I've always loved you ever since you first visited to my Kingdom." Twilight said her voice full of happiness, finally being able explain her feelings to this stallion in front of her. She felt joy running through her body mind and soul. The joy she felt made her smile for the first in over 2975 years, the ghostly figure of Prince Sombra hugged the mare that meant more the world itself to him. He was going to keep his promise, to protect Princess Twilight until he died or their enemy did.

Princess Twilight wanted to save the Northern Realm Ruler from the evil that taken control of his body, she would die trying to save him. Prince Sombra would do the same if he was in her place, she knew he would, anypony would. She hugged the pony she loved most back, hoping she wouldn't have to die to save him. But if she did she would die happy when he was free, she made herself that promise long ago.

~Center of the Diamond Realm~

Princess Twilight headed for the battlefield of Alicornia Gravetimes, why the battlefield was that she didn't know nor did she care, she one priority to deal with at the moment; Dark Light, the Lord of Dark Magic. When arrived The Diamond Princess spotted her Prince's Ghost pointing to where Dark Light was, her eyes followed in the direction Sombra pointed. Dark Light stood in blood red armor with black details, Twilight stood in sky-blue armor with purple details. The two ponies stared for a long tense moment, when Dark Light laugh the sound rolled over her freezing her in place as shivers of fear ran up her spine. It was nothing compared to when he actually spoke, his voice was a dark oily sound what put fear into her mind as their locked, purple to red.

"Crystal Amondra Twilight, Your Imperial Highness. Look at what 2597 years has done to us, you a beautiful young flower, and me a rotting corpse." Dark Light said to Twilight telling her what differences he saw between them.

"That face..." Twilight said in shock of Dark Light's true appearances.

"Last seen at a party like this one."

"A curse."

"Followed by a tragic fight of the ice. Remember?!?!" Dark Light shouted as a black diamond came into view that had been hidden under the armor around his neck, caused the sea-blue diamonds to turn into water which engulfed Twilight before she could defend herself. As soon as the water appeared it vanished, leaving an evil look in Twilight's eyes and a hate filled voice.

"Dark Light." Twilight spoke with venom in her voice, it was as if she had swallowed snake venom.

"Destroyed by your dispeakable parents." Dark said before stepping towards her, with each step he took a step black tendrils entangled around Twilight. One tendril around each limb and her neck tightening whenever she moved, Dark was suffocating her. The tendrils vanished as the ground below Twilight cracked. "Das Vidonya, you highness."

The ground gave away causing Twilight to fall her wings had been misplaced by the dark magical tendrils squeezing them to point she felt the bones become the way they were now.

"Nopony can save you now, Twilight!!!!" Dark happily said with an evil laugh.

"Wanna bet?" Sombra asked before his punch landed on Dark's face sending him flying a couple feet away. "Twilight!!" Sombra shouted as he leapt for the princess who holding onto an iceberg shard for dear life. As Sombra reached Twilight she lost her grip on the shard, Sombra's tail gripped the shard as he caught her front hooves with his own.

"Sombra..." Twilight said straining to keep a tight grip that was quickly fading. "If we live through this, remind me to th-"

Sombra quickly cutting Twilight off knowing what she was saying. "... Thank me later, yeah."

"How romantic together again for the last time." Dark said as his Dark Magic shot mere seconds above Twilight's head, causing Twilight to lose her grip and fall while she screamed out her love's name. "SOMBRA!!!!!!"

As Twilight fell into darkness her heart shined as voice called out to her. "Twilight... Twilight..." the voice that called was definitely a female's, a pure white flash caused a strange creature emerge from Twilight's heart and the was a Dragon. The Dragon's colors matched Twilight's own even the eyes, but the Dragon had Griffin feathered wings not natural Dragon scaled wings.

"Who are you?" Twilight coughed when she spoke, her throat was still recovering from suffocating force that had been caused to it.

"I am Serrina, the Dragon of Pure Feelings. I'm also your spiritual guide, just my parents were to you parents. My father was the Griffin of Heart, and My Mother was the Drake of Love. Your REAL Father was the Alicorn of Wisdom and Your REAL Mother was the Alicorn of Balance. My father's name was Nightstar, and My Mother 's name was Arella. Your REAL Father's name was Night Breeze, and Your REAL Mother's name was Amela."

Twilight listened with great curiosity, but she had one question that needed answering.  "Am I dead?"

"No. You've been spared because of me, without me you'd be dead a long time ago." There was a long pause between the two, neither one of them knew what to say. (Well, not really. Sarrina had something to be explained but she didn't know how to.) "Twilight... I can help you defeat Dark Light, but do that you must pass the test that Dark Light set up for you. If you pass this test you'll gain the full power of Myself and of the Diamond Crown. Now in this test, you must face your greatest fear."

"But how?"

"Don't be afraid, you have all the tools you need. Now fight."

With that said, Sarrina disappeared leaving Twilight all alone in the dark. The darkness changed to a place that Twilight  had only heard of; The Votex of Diamonds. Twilight fell slowly as if time was moving halfway slower than normal, she turned herself as she looked into the Vortex.

"This is Vortex of Diamonds... Its incredible, its so beautiful." Something caught Twilight's eyes as a figure came into veiw, the figure was a five-headed Dragon that looked just as Dark Light would. Twilight got shoved back by one of the five heads causing Twilight to breathe with pain in her chest.

Twilight knew fighting the pain she felt would make her stronger, she spread her wings walking thourgh the air trying to get her pain under control. Taking a deep breath she concentrated all of her magical energy than released it all when she shouted, "Diamond Fire! Dragon of The Diamond Realm!"

Sarrina came to her aid firing at the Dark Dragon, the attack didn't do much damage to the Dark Dragon. It attacked with its own fire which was black as a starless night, the blast caused Sarrina to fall to her opponent. Sarrina was pinned down with the Dark One's tail around her midsection, Twilight felt weaker than normal.

"I can't move" Twilight said as fell on a ledge near Sarrina, who was now weak as she was. Twilight pushed herself back onto her hooves knowing failure wasn't an option for her. "Come on Twilight, you've got this. Just dig deep. You can do this."

Twilight jumped off of the ledge, flew to Sarrina's side giving her spirit more power.

"Attack with all the power of the Diamond Fire!" Twilight commanded as Sarrina was ready to tare the Dark One apart,  but instead fired with all of the power that had been given. The flames burned the Dark One to ashes,  the Diamond Crown glowed brighter than it had the first she found it.

"I did!" Twilight said joy and pride, she passed the test of the Vortex and Dark Light at the same time. Sarrina's power along with her form merged with the Crown's power which focused on Twilight as the magical essences serged throughout her body a few of her features changed. Her wingspan grew to match Sarrina's. Twilight's mane flowed within its own way the bottom flowed towards her left but as it reached the end the flow reversed itself back to her right, her tail did the same. Her legs and horn grew longer than Celestia's by an inch or two, she became thinker too her armor was fitting better by five belt holes.

With her strength replenished her magic maxed to its fullest, Twilight flew out of the Vortex and back to the battle at hoof. She had earned her true powers and was ready to use them.

~~~~~
When Twilight lost her grip and fell into the darkness below as she for Sombra, that pulled his last nerve. Sombra swung himself around the shard his gripped, he propled himself up towards Dark Light, Sombra wanted him dead. The two stallions fought with their horns tyring overpower each other, the ground shook as a strange light from within the ice hole but neither stallion noticed the light. Dark Light felt his strength fade a bit, giving Sombra the upper hoof in this battle. The light became a fire from the Vortex of Diamonds both stallions looked toward the fire that had rose up to the ground above. Dark and Sombra saw a figure turn it's  head towards Dark and fired at him as it spoke the voice was feminine, "Diamond Fire Shower!"
"Twilight!" Sombra said as he recognized the figure's vioce, Twilight came into veiw. Dark Light's body had been scorched, he was almost gone from existence.
"Sombra?" Twilight asked getting his attention. "Would you like to finish the job?"
As Twilight finished her question, something filled with and made of Dark Magic slashed Twilight's neck open. The Diamond Princess's own blood strained the snow-covered as she dropped flat on her belly, Sombra meanwhile had killed Dark Light and regained control over his body. Sombra was tall as Twilight his mane flowed in it did when he was corrupted by Dark Light, he heard Twilight's breathing and instantly knew what Dark Light had done.
"Twilight..." Sombra cradled her in his hooves as he tried to heal her wound, his spiritual guide was a Phoenix named White Soul.
"Sombra, magic won't work." Soul moved close to Twilight wound, tears fell from Soul's face and onto the wound causing it to heal.
Twilight gasped for air when Soul was finished, she looked those around her and hugged them all for the help they had provided for her to win. Dark Light was gone for good and so all the evil he had done. The Diamond Realm's freedom had returned and would remain for all eternity.
The Prince of the Northern Diamond Kingdom and A Untold Story
A week after Dark Light had been killed Sombra returned home to the Northern Diamond  Kingdom, when his subjects saw him they happily accepted him back home. Life had resumed itself in both great Kingdoms, after two months of being away Prince Sombra desided to see Princess Twilight. He felt the need to see his 'Twilight Princess', he had given her a nickname because he thought she needed one.
Princess Twilight trusted him with a secret she never told anypony, her her true name was Princess Twilighta Amondria Sparkla which meant Twilight Amondra Sparkle. Her true name was a mix of Germane, Nieghgypt, and Saddle Arabian. (Her true mother was Saddle Arabian/Nieghgypt, her true father was Germane.)
Her true name just translated her name in this lifetime, her height had changed Twilight was now between Celestia and Luna's height. Sombra's height was now equivalent to Twilight's own, their hieght wouldn't change unless when needed.
Prince Sombra had a sister who was one of Princess Twilight's addenants; Solara Star, she relayed letters to and from her twin brother. Sombra felt do happy to know how she and Princess Twilight were doing. Today Prince Sombra found out the Princess Twilight was sick, but the doctors couldn't figure out what had caused their beloved ruler to become sick as she was. Solara had explained in her letter that when Princess Twilight had gotten back from helping the guards check the southern boarder, upon her return to the palace Solara herself had given her lady some cold water before sending her to bed.
Solara blamed herself for she had caused Princess Twilight to become sick, and now she had to live with this mistake. Prince  Sombra had teleported himself to the southern kingdom, Twilight needed him more then even and he wasn't going to leave her alone again. Solara saw him as she came around a corner, waving a hoof, telling her twin to follow, she leaf him to The Diamond Princess's Royal Quarters.
The doors to Princess Twilight's chambers open by another addenant that Solara knew very well, Sombra entered the room first, Solara followed close behind gesturing from the others in the room to give the northern ruler sometime alone with their ruler. Everypony, Solara included, left the two alicorns in the room Twilight eyes had deep bags under them making one of the answers to his questions clesr, she hadn't slept for hours... every little noise must've been torture to her ears cuasing her not get a wink of sleep. Her breathing was ragged and forced, that cold water could have made her temperature to drop dramatically. Sombra knew Twilight was his top priority right, he loved her so much he'd do anything to cure her.
Twilight looked at her most beloved friend with eyes could melt steel, she wanted to feel better so badly that she'd give up her cutie mark to do it. Sombra leaned down to hug Twilight, but instead he kissed her hoping that this would somehow comfort her. He had been meaning to do that for a very long time but he never got the chance before. The kiss made Twilight clam down enough that she closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep, Sombra watched over Twilight as she slept and he thought she looked like an angle when she slept.
The day dragged on as Sombra tried to think of a reason as to why in the ponyfeathers he kissed her, as hard as he thought on one he couldn't come up with anything to say. Twilight's sickness was almost gone, but she was sick from food poisoning. The water she drank only made her feel as Death itself was claiming her life, but when Sombra kissed her she suddenly felt alive and well.
When Twilight woke up again for nearly the 900th time in the last two months she'd been in bed both sick to her stomach and worried out of her mind for her ponies and most loved one. Sombra heard Twilight moving, trying to get out of bed, probably worried for her subjects, and he didn't blame her. Sombra help his precious princess to the floor, she a little unsteady when standing up she had been bed-ridden for quiet a while. Twilight fell forward almost crashing face-first with the floor, Sombra's magic saved her from even more pain and she was more than thankful  to have him back.
“Sombra... I have something I need to show you, but please don't hate me after this.”
“I could never hate you, Twilighta.”
“Please, Oh great and beautiful moon! I wish for a stallion that will be accepted by my clan!”
A brown coated mare with bright green eyes wished on the full blood moon. She wore gypsy clothing and tears glistened her eyes. The moon did not answer her plea.
For the next few full blood moons the mare returned to the top of the mountain and gazed upon the face of the moon. Tears glistened in her eyes, as the moon was reflected in them.
“Please oh beautiful moon! Here my plea! Give me a stallion that will be accepted by my clan!”
The blood moon once again was silent to the earth pony’s plea. The mare turned to leave once again to try again next month when a bright flash blinded her temporarily. The Queen of the Blood Moon stood hovering above.
“Thou hast wished long and hard. We will grant thy wish.”
The mare’s face twisted into joy, as she was about to run down the mountain in glee, the Queen stopped her. The Queen’s eyes were aglow with power.
“In return mortal, thou wilst relinquish thy first child you have with him to Us!”
The mare only nodded happily.
“Yes, yes of course my Lady! It will be done!”
The Queen’s eyes twisted into a sorrowful gaze. She knew the consequence of such a wish. This mare would never truly care for the foal that would surely be born.
~A~
Months passed and the gypsy mare had given birth. She was worried about what her husband would think. The foal was a little girl, a filly. That was not the problem though, it was the fact that the filly was purple. The filly had lavender eyes, and worst of all it was not an earth pony. It had both wings and a horn!
Her mane was a dark blue with a lighter hue stripe next to a purple pink stripe. She held none of the colors of the original parents!
Her husband came into the tent. His coat was brown like hers. A mane black as a barren night, it contrasted so much with her light brown mane. She had hidden the filly under a red blanket.
“Honey, please…” she begged weakly. She hadn’t had enough time to come with an excuse on the colors of the foal.
“There is nothing to be afraid of darling.” The stallion said as he nuzzled his wife. He then removed the blanket that hid the filly. The stallion dropped the blanket in surprise.
“What is this treachery!” he demanded pointing an accusing hoof at the filly who was sleeping soundly next to her mother.
“I can explain!” she pleaded with him.
“No! I understand perfectly thou treacherous snake! Thou hast cheated on me!”
The mare shook her head vigorously. Tears welled up in her eyes as she stared at the retreating back of her husband. She looked uncertainly at her filly.
She sang a lullaby to the sleeping filly, and dread filled her heart. What would her husband do? She had to explain about the promise she had made to the Queen of the Blood Moon.
“Thou wilst die!”
The mare turned around to see her husband wielding a knife in his mouth. She didn’t have enough time to react as she screamed, the knife cutting through her like butter.
The scream woke up the filly, and she began to cry. The stallion looked disdainfully at the foal. A creature he considered an abomination. Not wanting to feel like a monster by killing a filly that had only symbolized the treachery of his deceased wife, took the filly in his mouth.
He ran out of the house with the filly, and he carried it to the top of the mountain. The stallion had often seen his wife come here to pray. He abandoned the filly onto the mountain top. The full moon shown brilliantly down on the barren top, illuminating the filly.
The stallion frowned and ran down the mountain. He would have to bury his treacherous wife and move on. He didn’t want to live here anymore. A brand of moonlight touched the filly. Her crying stopped, and she looked up to see the Queen of the Blood Moon hovering above her. She waved her forearms at the stranger. The Queen held a small smile. She was slightly depressed at what she had done. She picked the filly up in her magic and brought her close to nuzzle.
“We shall name you Twilighta Amondria Sparkla for thy mane reminds Us of the time between day and night, and thy coat sparkles in this moonlight.”
Twilighta giggled and wrapped her forearms around the Queen’s muzzle.
~A~
“My love, what hast thou done!”
“We merely granted a wish!”
“This child, she is unnatural!”
“We care not!”
“If you truly love her than We Both shall raise together, my love.”
~A~
Days passed and Blood Moon Queen’s happinesz grew. Her husband had allowed that their child be revealed to the public. Only the guards and workers of the castle knew of the action the Blood Moon Queen had done.
“Twilight, Our love does understand. We basks in the glory of our kingdom. It is your kingdom too. Are thy not good enough for Our subjects?”
The Queen nuzzled the filly with a frown. She looked up from the filly a dark expression on her face.
“thou will make Our subjects understand one day.”
Moonlight crept over the Moon Queen. It devoured her body and her appearance turned brighting. Twilighta began to smile happily.
“Worry not dear child, this kingdom will also be yours, when the time is right.”
The King of the Silver Diamonds was walking down the hall. Her white feathers gleemed. Her wife had been acting differently. He heard the giggling of their filly. The pony still did care much for a creature born of magic.
He opened the door to the filly’s room. Towering over the cradle was some brightened creature that looked like his wife.
“Thou hast finally appeared, my love.”
The Brightened creature hugged the filly.
~A~
The silver pony tiredly walked into the filly’s room. This was the only part of the castle that had not been destroyed. His wife had planned well and in the grips of the madness that had managed to destroy them his wife cast a protection spell over the room.
The King looked down on the sleeping filly. She had managed to cast a sleeping spell. His wife’s power had been more powerful the more she cared. The Queen  had managed to banish their foes to the depths of the ice. Now, all was left was the filly.
He was convinced his daughter had caused the transformation, but as the King gazed down at the sleeping filly he saw something else. Greatness, kindness, honesty, optimism, generosity, and loyalty: The elements. He vaguely remembered the elements telling him something as his wife wielded them against their foes.
The room began to shudder and some cement crashed to the ground. The protection spell was disintegrating. He hed revealed Twilighta to the populace. Destruction would certainly occur to the government. More than this revolt did.
He had enough strength to do this one spell. Everything had to be perfect in a thousand years. He would prepare and teach her to make it so. His daughter would be ready and most likely try to take change in what was hers, this kingdom.
“May the heavens protect and watch over you. May the heavens watch over us all.”
His spell wrapped around the filly and in flash of brilliant gold she had disappeared.
~A~
The filly appeared in the same room. It was different. Vines crept around the walls and webs littered the corners and ceilings. A hoof with a golden shoe covering it stepped closer to the filly. Twilighta looked up to see a brilliantly silver pony.
“Welcome, my little one. Come. I will prepare you for the future.”
Sombra hadn't known Twilight had been born from a Wish, but he didn't care if she was born from a Wish or not he loved her more anything. Her happiness was that mattered to him.
