Chapter 5: Tavi Teaches Noi a Lesson

Previous Chapter Next Chapter

Author's Notes:

This story references the fan-made video Lyra's Gift which can be seen on YouTube.

Octavia really needed to teach Noi a lesson. Lyra had told Octavia what had occurred between she and Noi, and it had been clear that only Octavia would be able to sort the problem out.

Lyra had bought Noi a violin for some reason. Lyra didn't even know Noi — why had she bought her a violin? Octavia shook her head.

Octavia knocked on the door of Noi's house, and it was answered by Banana Fluff, who was Noi's mother, and who looked strangely like someone had just coloured Lyra in using a different colour scheme. "Hi, I'm here to teach Noi a lesson," said Octavia to the yellow unicorn.

"OK, come in, whoever you are," answered Banana. "She's up in her room. Why don't you head up there? I was just off out to work. I'll leave all the doors completely unlocked so you can let yourself out."

Octavia shrugged and headed up the stairs, where she could hear an awful racket.

When she got to Noi's bedroom, she found Noi playing tennis with a badly damaged racket. Noi herself was an orange–yellow earth pony, with a cutie mark that looked like a pillow, or a magnifying glass, or a chocolate cupcake, depending on how you looked at it.

"I've come to give you a violin lesson," Octavia announced, "so stop playing tennis."

Six hours later, Noi could play violin beautifully, all thanks to Octavia.

Tavi Goes to the Library

Octavia slung her saddlebags over her back and slipped a copy of Phrygian Dominant Scales and What They Should Mean to You into the bag. She trotted off to the Golden Oak Library to return it.

Rounding the corner, she spotted the librarian on a balcony near the top of the library, peering through a telescope. No doubt studying the stars, though why she'd do that in broad daylight was a mystery.

Suddenly the librarian leapt from the balcony, cradling what appeared to be a brown ball of feathers and the library exploded behind her. Half-burnt books scattered the ground, and loose leaves of paper danced and twisted in the light breeze. The ball of feathers turned into an owl and flew away. And the librarian just disappeared.

She heard a distant rumbling sound and looked in that direction to see flashing lights on the horizon, followed by an enormous and colourful explosion. Moments later the sound and shock wave of the explosion swept her off her hooves and she fell to the ground. "What was that?" she asked out loud, pulling herself back up.

She watched as a further series of smaller explosions and lights played out in the distance, interspersed by purple streaks through the sky. Soon there was another enormous explosion. This time Octavia knew to brace herself for the shock, and managed to remain standing as it swept over her.

Then everything was quiet.

Octavia looked around at the burnt remains of the library surrounding her, her jaw hanging open.

"Awesome!" she said. "Now I can keep the book!"

Tavi and Lyra Meet for Coffee Yet Again

"Sorry I'm late, Lyra," said Octavia, arriving at the café, pushing her cello case, "my train was delayed, and I had to come straight here from the station."

"Don't worry," answered the minty green unicorn, draining her cup, "I started without you."

Octavia pushed her cello case to the corner where it wouldn't get in anypony's way. "OK, I'll go get the drinks. Your usual?"

Lyra shook her head. "Could you get me a latté with an extra shot?"

Octavia shrugged and trotted to the counter, returning a couple of minutes later bearing a tray containing two cups of coffee and two blueberry muffins. She set it down on the table and took a seat.

"Oooh! Muffins!" squealed Lyra, and helped herself to one.

"So, you don't usually drink coffee," said Octavia.

Lyra groaned. "Bonny was up until 4 am, making candy. I couldn't get to sleep."

Octavia took a cautious sip of her drink. "Is candy-making really that loud?"

"No," moaned Lyra, "it's that smell of burnt sugar. I've had to leave all the doors and windows open today when I came here."

"What if somepony breaks in though?" asked Octavia with a look of concern.

Lyra shrugged. "Why would they need to break in if the doors are all open?"

Octavia buried her face in her hooves. Lyra could be dumb sometimes. "You know what I meant."

"Oh, it's OK. The house isn't empty. Bonny's there."

Octavia was confused. She took a sip of her coffee. "But isn't she at the shop today? Isn't that why she was making candy?"

"She felt really unwell, so she called in sick. Twist is covering for her," explained Lyra.

"Oh, poor Bonny."

Lyra sipped her coffee. "Don't 'poor Bonny' her — it's her own fault. She shouldn't have stayed up from 4 am to 8 am eating all that candy!"

Octavia didn't know what to say.

Lyra looked at her blankly. "So have you had time to think about that sex?"

Tavi and Lyra Meet for Sex

Octavia lay back on the bed, exhausted. "Well, that was certainly an experience I won't soon forget."

Lyra tried to untangle herself from the straps, eventually using her magic to extricate herself. "I told you we should have sex, didn't I?"

Octavia was tired, and a little thirsty. "Yes. Yes, you did. And you were right, as usual."

Lyra lay beside her and yawned. "We really need to have coffee together."

Author's Notes:

OK, this story is T-rated, so that's probably all I can get away with.

But if you want some Octavia sex action, I have just published an M-rated story Parties, Preening, and PTSD. You should be able to find it here.
