Spike's Epic End Of His Epic Journey (Part 2: The End)

Spike underestimated the power's of the beast, even with three appendages left,  he swung at it with his free hand, missing the monster.  His weight pushed him of balance, and he ran into it, where a fist uppercut into his stomach, knocking the wind out of him.  "Ugh," he muttered, "That h-h-hurt,"  and a sinister laugh came from the green-blood stained figure.  It was the first time he had heard the creature make a less threatening noise since the fight began.  He barrel rolled over to a safer position, took a deep breath, but quickly emptied his stomach of the gems he ate.  It was the only time he actually threw up, when he didn't need to.  Turns out, that he felt much better after doing so, and he leaned over, and threw up once more, fully cleansing him.

He wiped his mouth, and saw the invisible fiend looking at him, it's head now covered in it's own blood, and just stared.  It was telling him to "hurry up" in a sort of taunting matter, which only made Spike even angrier at it.  He pulled the sword up, and charged into it, trying to slash at the slowly reloading stomach, but was only able to split a little bit up, hear some of the muscle splat out on the floor.  As more blood filled the water around them, the smell started melting away, and the blood became less of a hazard to Spike.  He thought of one of the most easily produced fighting methods ever thought, he ran up, and pushed.  He pushed the monster into the water, and bought himself some time.

He heard a few splash, than saw some bubbles come up from the water, showing that the monster had submerged.  Spike ran over to the treasure pile, and tried to reach for the opening in the ceiling, where the moon light was shining, but there was only a few options to get out of here, and killing the monster was one of the options.  The water bubbled back up, but when he heard the noise, he got an idea.  What if he used his enemy against his other enemy... In other words, what if he used the water to his advantage.  He warmed his body up one more time, and jumped in.  His body was getting used to the cold, but it would still kill him, if he stayed in there to long.  He felt around, and saw the blood leaking into the water.  That is where his foe is, and he lashed at it with the sword.

The impact of the sword went faster in the water, it cut through the liquid, and also the tissue of the beast.  What could this be?  He got an extra boost in moral as he felt like he was going to win this one.  He kept the sword into the body of the beast, and swam down ward, reaching the floor of the water.  The pressure was pounding against his head, and h jammed the sword into the ground, pinning the monster under.  He swam back up to get some air, scraped up some of the rock on the dry ground, and blew hard into it with his fire.  He formed a dagger, like he did with the ware wolf, and swam back under, jamming the dagger into the head of the monster.  It was very quick, and he swam back up.  He climbed out, blew fir into his hands again, and rubbed himself dry in seconds.  Maybe he actually beat it, after about thirty minutes of fighting, had he won?

FYI: No, he didn't

The was more bubbles coming from the water, and this time, an actually physical hand came out, followed by an arm.  Out of the water came a creature more disturbing and disgusting than what Spike ever imagined to fight, but all of the disgusting features were mostly caused by Spike completely tearing his way through it.  It was in the shape of, well... let's just describe it, from Spike's perspective:  It had two minus one arm(s), a body (torn apart from Spike) and two legs with a joint in between the calves, with two feet.  It still had the dagger in it's head, which explains why it wasn't standing correctly.  Severe head trauma, then Spike spoke up, "What the hay happened to you," mockingly, and chuckling at his joke.  He was sure he could win this now, and it had only been no more than, what? 55 minutes?

"How dare y-you," it stuttered,

"Well, it seems you might lose this,"

"Never, I never lose, I have killed every adventurer," it said between breaths, "to ever come this far,"

"Not this one," he said, and pointed his thumb at his chest, holding his head up high,

"No matter, I still have a few tricks up my sleeve, and I can assure you, who ever wins this fight, it will not turn out as good as it did for you,"

"What tricks do you speak of?" Spike asked, lifting up an eyebrow,

"You will see, eventually, now, come finish m-me off, I dare you,"

With Pleasure...

Spike walked calmly over to the creature, took his right foot, and brought all of his force onto the leg joint of the monster, over confident with joy, as the joint snapped, and a bone stuck out the back of the leg, bringing the once invisible creature to one knee..  It was now at his height, and he looked right into it's eyes.  Spike's green eyes and black pupils stared right into the monsters, and he grabbed the dagger out out the torn up head, and there was a hiss of decompressing gasses, leaving a hole in the side of the head.  There were pieces of the creature on the make shift 'dagger' and he watched as the last of the gasses left the head, and the eyes rolled all the way backwards, and the beast finally fell to the floor with a clutter, and the battle was done.

Spike looked at the body, and it started to sizzle for some reason, and the stench filled the air again, but was let out from the opened hole in the ceiling.  Spike tried to find a way out, climbing up on top of his treasure, and was so close to reaching it, but alas, still no use.  How was he going to get out.  He sat down on his treasure again, and had to come up with a more barbaric idea, but he thought it would work.  He decided to take the dead body of the creature, and stack it on the top of the pile of gold, and use it as a stand.  He went to go get it, but when he walked around the pile, there was no body...

"What, I'm sure there was a dead body right there," he said to himself, pointing at the blood stains on the ground.  He searched the ground, but there was no sign of dragging or melting, only stains.  He got frustrated, and then he realized, he was stuck.  He was blistering with anger, and he needed to just, you know, punch something to get his rage out.  Spike was easily agitated when it wasn't his friends ordering him around.  His senses were pricked up, and something caught his ear.  He dived like Rainbow Dash in the skies towards the treasure, and pulled out another sword, and turned around.  The torches turned back on, and standing there, right on the edge of the dry land, was his true friend: Twilight Sparkle...

"Tw-tw-twilight? What are you doing here?"

"I came looking for you,"

"But that's impossible, you need a map to get in here,"

"I, uh, found another way in," Twilight said,

"But all the doors were shut,"

"Spike there is no time for questions,"

"Yes there are, Twilight,"

"What in Equestria do you mean?"

"I can't trust you, this place might be playing another trick on me,"

"Then ask you're questions," she said, impatiently,

"Fine, let us begin,"

"When did we come to Ponyville?" Spike asked,

"This summer,"

"Why did we?"

"Princess Celestia wanted us to, for the royal decorations, food, and decor, but she wanted us to make friends, also,"

"Very good, now, how exactly did you find me here?"

"I, uh, followed you, from when you entered the cave in the mountain, and I followed you in.  We were going to take you home,"

"So, where were you when the door closed?"

"I hopped in the water, and held my breath until the fight started, then I found an escape door in the water,"

"Hmm, I see,"

Maybe this really was the real Twilight Sparkle he came to love, but something didn't seem right, but he decided to follow her directions.  "Now, come with me, we are going through the escape hatch in the water,"

"What about the treasure?"

"We can come back later,"

"Fine,"

Spike was about to follow her into the water, and Twilight was preparing to jump in, when Spike stopped, his mouth gaping at what he saw.  Everything started to make sense,

"You really aren't going to let me leave here with the treasure?" he asked,

"We can come back," Twilight returned,

"No, I wasn't talking to Twilight,"

Twilight had a confused look on her face,

"Who else is in the room?" she asked,

"No one, just me... and my enemy,"

"What the hay are you talking about, it's me, Twilight, you're friend,"

"Your not Twilight,"

"Your making no sense,"

"Guess what, 'Twilight', check you're flank,"

Twilight looked down, and everything fell into place, suddenly, there was a whirling noise, and then, a sword struck her in the neck, and Spike was holding the sword, notching it an all different directions, and pulled out the sword, letting her fall to the ground.  Spike was very clever at this.  (You probably think I killed Twilight, but before you stop reading and post a ton of hate comments, read this)

Twilight's twitching body fell to the ground, and she looked up at Spike, he could see him leaning over, and dunking his fingers into her blood, and when she asked, "Why?".  He put his fingers up to her face, and showed her the blood.  It was green.

"That's why,"

It was an impersonator, it was the creature, pretending to be Twilight (there, don't cry about it "No he killed Twilight" don't worry)  Twilight's body began to shape into the creature Spike fought for over an hour, and he knelt over and started to speak to the devilish nightmare of a beast,

"You thought you could trick me?" Spike asked,

"I tried to hard, but now here comes the time for you to choose,"

"Choose what?"

"Whether you live or die,"

"What do you mean?"

"The way this works is either, you can stay here and have you're treasure, but the doors will stay locked, and so will the ceiling, and you will die, but if you choose to live, you can leave through the door, and return home.  The treasure will be lost in the lava,"

"What lava?" Spike asked,

"The lava that is about to fill the room, and kill me, but possibly not you,"

Spike could here the lava coming through the walls, and even through lava didn't burn him too much, he couldn't breath it.  He was caught between his greediness, and his real life.  His greediness was very strong, and his brain egged him on to stay with the treasure, even if it meant his death.  Spike was just about to make his mind up, when something in his mind smacked him across the face, and yelled at him.  His conscious screamed, "What? Are you stupid?  You have a life back in Ponyville, not hear.  If you stay Spike, you will die, and you will never see any one of you're friends ever again,"

"I know,"

He shed a few tears, looked back at the treasure, ran over and grabbed a few gold coins, crushing his greediness, and went over to the creature, and told him his choice.

"I choose to live," he said, tears streaming down his face.

"Good decision, this lava is going to hurt,"

"Aren't you scared to die?"

"No, I have been moving towards this my entire life, and now my time had come,"

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, you have been a very good opponent, but I never did catch you're real name,"

"It's Spike,"

"Spike, good fighting with you, there is a platform leading up to the top of the mountain behind the wall.  I will open it for you,"

"Thanks," he said, and he extended his hand, and shook the creatures.  After all of that fighting, he saw his differences, and possibly made a new friend, for a very short time.

The wall rose up, making a small door, and the water emptied out, forming a solid bridge leading to it.  He saw the holes in the walls open up, and lava started pouring into the room.  He took one last look at the treasure, and the monster lying on the ground, finally dead from blood lose, and he turned around.  There was a small platform, made of rock, and it was in the shape of an elevator shaft, and Spike stepped on it.  It rose up, using a pulley system with ropes, and it brought him high up onto the top of the mountain.  There he was, standing on the top of the mountain, were he had entered.

He got of the platform, and the ropes snapped, tumbling back down, eliminating the chance of going back down, and Spike walked over to the edge of the mountain, let his legs hang over, and sat on the ledge.  He looked over the Gala, as it was still going on in the night, and he saw Ponyville only a few kilometers away.  Spike looked at himself, and he was still wearing the tattered tux he came with.  He finally took it off, and burned them with his fire breath.  He looked at the small fire, and he knelt down and cried.  He put his hands on his face, and let everything out.  He came all this way for nothing, only a few gold coins that could buy him a few chocolates or some donuts.  He finished crying, wiped his face, and felt a little better about himself.

Maybe it wasn't about the treasure, maybe it was about the adventure, they excitement, the experience.  A grin began to grow on his face, and he started making his way down the mountain, back home.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He made his way back down the mountain, and now, he looked like a normal dragon, like Spike, and he walked slowly through the crowd of ponies, paying no attention to the damage done in the dance floor by Twilight and her friends.  He walked out the entrance, not being guarded by anypony, but he did hear some of the guards talking about one of them who was found in the bushes, and was now being treated in the hospital wing.  He was glad the guard he beat up was safe, and now he had to find his way back to Ponyville, fast.  He looked around until he found a wagon going to Ponyville, and when they started moving, he hopped on the back, and kept quiet.

When they reached Ponyville, Spike hopped off the wagon, and tried to spend his coins on the nearest thing.  He had no point to even keep the coins, it was less than what he even gets paid as an assistant.  He sighed, and as he walked down the dim lit street of Ponyville, he passed his own house, and walked over to his favorite donut shop:

Pony Joe's

Epilogue

Spike walked through the doors, and Pony Joe was manning the register.  He walked over to the counter, and sat on the stool.  Joe looked at Spike, and asked, "Jeez Louise, What happened to you, Spike?"

"What?"

"I mean, you look very tired, do you need anything or what?"

"Just get me three donuts, and a hot chocolate, I'm a little depressed,"

"Sure thing,"

He put the money down on the counter, and watched his 'treasure' get put in the register.  All gone, he put one arm on the counter, and supported his head as he took sips of the chocolate, and ate some donuts.  It was about forty five minutes, or three hot chocolates, five donuts, and a few swallows of sadness and happiness later, when he spoke up one more time,

"Hey, Pony Joe, get me another donut,"

"Are you sure, I think you have had enough,"

"Get me another! EXTRA SPRINKLES!" he lashed out, and went back to his arm-in-head posture, when the door opened up.

"Ha ha, Twilight Sparkle, long time, no see,"

That name, Spike shot out of his semi depression, hopped of the stool, and ran over.  "Spike, I thought we could find you here!"

"Oh, Twilight, I'm sorry,"

"No Spike, I'm sorry, we never should have left you,"

"Don't worry about it,"

"Well, I brought the rest of the gang, and wait 'till we tell you the story at the Gala,"

He looked over, and they were all there: Rarity, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, and Rainbow Dash, all of his friends.  They pulled up to one big table, and Spike broke into conversation,

"So, how was it, how was you're best night ever?"

A huge Gala story later, and Spike listening in awe

"That sounds like the worst night ever!"

"It was!" they all said at the same time.  They all laughed, but then, the door opened up, and to there amazement, Princess Celestia walked in,

"That was the Best Night Ever!"

"Pardon me, Princess, but tonight was just awful," Twilight spoke up,

"Oh Twilight, the Gala every year is awful, I was so glad to hear that you were all coming, hopping you could liven things up,"

"Well, thanks, Princess," she said,

"Well, know that I'm still here, would you like to give me you're report on friendship?"

"Yes, Yes I would: Friends have a way of making even the worst of times into something pretty great,"

Pinkie Pie stood up, "And that made this the Best Night Ever!" and they all laughed, every single one of them, as a big, happy family.

"So, Spike, where were you this entire time?" Applejack asked up, and Spike looked at all of them, and a grin grew on his face again.  So hard, his face hurt, and then he spoke, "While you were out having the Best Night Ever, I think I had my Real Best Night Ever too..." and he took a deep breath, and let out a few more words:

Wait until you here this story...
