Chapter 9: Strike 9- My December

Previous Chapter Next Chapter

Author's Notes:

Alright. That's another crossover complete and now, Lance is going to run into some new problems.

Crossover with Something from Nothings by Shagohad12.

Humor involving Humdrum early in the chapter was inspired by a scene in Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction when I replayed it a couple times a few months ago.

(HEADS UP: This chapter will undergo revisions at a later date to reflect the current story since Something from Nothing was revamped.)

When Lightning Strikes- Slayers and Sidekicks

HQ Infirmary- 6:30am

His eyes slowly began to readjust to the current location he was in as the boy in the infirmary was slowly regaining consciousness. Most of his battle gear was removed, but what remained was a soft blue tunic and black pants along with some socks. The boy, whose name was Cody, had no idea what had happened over the past forty eight hours that he had been unconscious. Then, he noticed that his hands and chest were covered in surgical bandages and began to motion to stand up, only to be found by a familiar friend.

“Easy there man. You’ve been through a lot.”

The boy’s head immediately turned in the direction of his friends voice as his eyes widened. “L-lance? Holy crap, you’re alive!!”

“What? You thought I was dead?” Lance asked back, slightly confused by Cody’s response.

“Well no, but with it being Los Angeles, it’s probably not the safest of neighborhoods. Romeo went missing the same day you did.”

This surprised Lance. There were five friends that he could remember that were with them on the day that he got himself Displaced. Cody was one of them, Romeo was another, the third was Noah, the Fourth was Sonya and the last one was Aster. To be frank though, he was only told that the girls were there and never actually saw them.

“Speaking of which, where the heck are we?” His friend then asked as he tried taking in the sights of the room.

“That’ll be hard to explain.”

Just when he said that, Humdrum busted through the door. “There you are-! Oh… was I interrupting anything?”

‘D-did I hear that Lizard just… Talk?”

“I am NOT a lizard!! I’m-!!”

“Humdrum, calm yourself. Cody, this is Humdrum. He’s a baby dragon. And trust me… This will not be the first surprise that you’ll see today.”

“We don’t have time for introductions. We got ourselves a major emergency!!” The Sidekick rasped. “I can’t find the girls and their was a prison break out at Solace Asylum!”

Both Lance and Cody looked at each other with puzzled expressions. “Solace… Asylum?”

“It’s the prison that we use to capture all the bad guys we’ve beaten over the years. Someone broke in last night and busted all of them out!”

Both teens had come to the assumption that this Solace Asylum was a lot like Arkham Asylum. On the way to the command center, Lumen caught up with them and gave Cody a crash course on everything from where they were to what was going on and also how he was controlled. By the time they made it to command though, a video caller was trying to contact the main hotline as Humdrum answered.

“Humdrum? For a second, I thought the Masked Matterhorn would answer.” It was Detective Whooves.

“She’s currently… busy.” Lance responded. “Are you calling us referring to the ghoul case or the Solace Asylum breakout?”

“The second one. We got a sketch of a suspect behind the attack and this part will shock you. It’s another human. One that you might describe as an Adept as well.”

Lance now was concerned. “Can you send the sketch over?”

“Certainly. Keep an eye out for any suspicious individuals that might be with Sumeragi.”

“Wait, Sumeragi?”

“That’s what the villains renamed themselves to be under this new leader.” The Detective said before ending the phone call. By now, the sketch had finally came in and what Lance and Cody saw shocked both of them. They had seen this face before. The resemblance was uncanny. It looked like Nova, the main final boss of Azure Striker Gunvolt. But, Cody knew something else.

“Holy crap, that’s Noah!”

Lance turned immediately towards his friend, a bit of shock on his face. “Seriously?! That’s him?”

“Yes. He planned on dressing up as Nova on the second day of the convention so that way he can play the villain while you be the hero. But you weren’t there and on that same day, I ended up here. I guess he came here under similar circumstances.” The words from Cody now had Lance worried for more than one reason. If his other friend was playing the role of the villain, then there was no telling what kind of chaos and destruction that he might cause. He would probably think that this whole thing was just a game. He was only 14 after all and he didn’t really know any better when it came to these things. It reminded the Azure Striker of an old quote by Abraham Lincoln.

"Any man can overcome adversity. If you truly want to test a man's character, give him power."

“Okay, so let’s think this whole thing through. Noah is now being Nova, who broke out all of the villains locked up inside Solace Asylum. And to make matters worse, none of the girls are here to help calm the situation right now.”

“What are we going to do?” Humdrum asked. Based on the question, Lance presumed that the young dragon was now looking to him for guidance. Somehow, he thought that this was some sort of Test from Solaria based on one of the traits in TESLA. Primarily, Leadership.

“Until we find the girls, it’s our job to keep the city safe. Let’s get to work.”

“Alright!”

Cody grinned a little as he looked at the youngling. “For being a baby dragon, this kid’s got the stones to take on anything from the looks of it.”

The last comment though, made Humdrum confused. “What are stones? Do I have them?”

All Lance did in response was Facepalm at the sidekick’s question. “I’ll tell you later. Right now, we got more important things to do.”

Sumeragi Headquarters (A few hours earlier)

Nova felt very calm and relaxed as he looked down from his newfound base. Thanks to the help of some of the villains he released out of prison, the Adept was able to construct a new base for Sumeragi that he called “The Watchful Eye”. Given the fact that the base was actually very high up in orbit around the planet. The only way that anypony was able to access the base was to use the teleportation pads that were installed in the various Hideouts that expanded across the region and Equestria.

Soon though, his peaceful moment of watching over the planet was interrupted when one of his minions entered the room. “Master Nova. I found something inside one of the hideouts that might be of interest to you.” Nova himself turned around partially to look towards the pony and smiled a little

“Oh? Of interest you say? Tell me more about this thing that you found.”

“Earlier, one of the teams came across this trinket when we were looking at one of the hideouts. It may not look like much, but Third Eye says that it contains a huge amount of magic.”

Ah yes, Third Eye. He was one pony that Nova had a lot of faith in. The Unicorn was the one who found him when he first arrived in this world and helped him get use to his powers. At this rate, Third Eye was Nova’s most trusted ally. “Leave the trinket here so I can study it. You are dismissed.” The Earth Pony saluted the Adept and soon ran down the hall, leaving Nova with the emblem that was this “Trinket” that he was told about. From the looks of it, it appeared to be an emblem of some kind of heart. Just corrupted and sinister. He even heard a voice.

I am the seeker of darkness, the very darkness that lurks in all hearts. Call upon me and I shall consume your enemies and send them plummeting into night eternal.

“Very well…” Nova sighed. “Seeker of Darkness, I call upon you!!” All was still before the shadows started to gather in front of Nova. From it rose a tall tan skinned man, his hair a whitish silver and his eyes a very sickly yellow.

“Who has summoned me?” he asked, his voice cold with a hint of underlying malice. As he turned, Nova greeted the figure with a slight bow.

“Greetings. I believe you are the Seeker of Darkness, am I right?” The Adept asked. When he thought that he nodded his head, the boy spoke again. “I am Nova, but you may call me Nova; The Mighty. I called you because I am in need of your assistance. If you can truly do what you say that you can to my enemies, then I have a few targets for you.”

Nova smiled as he showed Holograms of the “Heroes of Harmony” as well as Solaria. Oh today was going to be a good day for Sumeragi.

Maretropolis (Present time)

“Well, horse apples.” Lance cursed. “I can’t reach Masked Matterhorn or the others by phone or my communications device.”

Lance, Cody and Humdrum were now on the rooftop of the Power Ponies HQ, hoping to get some sort of Com-Line working. To their dismay, nothing was helping them. Nothing had occurred yet in the flustering city of Maretropolis, but as the typical gimmick goes, the city seemed… too quiet for not having anything occur just yet.

“Why don’t we split up?” Cody suggested. “Lance and Lumen can investigate one half of the city while Humdrum and I can check out the other half.”

“You sure about that, Cody? Because last time I checked, Copen didn’t have any movement related abilities.”

“Uhh… Gunvolt? Copen?”

The two friends looked to see Humdrum by the edge of the building. Some kind of smoke pillar was rising in the distance. But whenever there’s smoke, there’s bound to be fire.

“If someone was trying to get our attention, then they just asked for it.” Lance said. “Let’s go. There’s a possibility that it might be where everypony else it.” Humdrum was on board with the possibility and so was Cody. However, trying to get their was another thing. Unlike Lance, Cody and Humdrum couldn’t exactly glide or float like Lance did with his Flashfield from building to building. So Cody had to deal with some “Alternative methods” of transportation.

Turns out, the shield that the Hunter carried with him could change into a multitude of forms. Including one for carrying around and one for Transportation. If you consider the transportation being a floating hoverboard. “Hop on, little guy.” He told Humdrum as he turned back towards his friend. “I’ll follow your lead. Wherever you go, we go too.”

‘Well, that provides a bit of confidence.’

When they got there though, the only thing they found was nothing but a burning dumpster fire. But to Humdrum, the young drake found something else. A emblem and some kind of sea shell. He was going to show Cody and Lance as soon as he picked them up, but soon, he began to hear voices. Voices coming from the two things he found.

“Guys… Can you have a look at this? I’m starting to think that the ride here is making my head spin.”

Lance was unsure of what Humdrum meant, but soon, he began to hear the same thing the Drake heard a few moments ago.

I am the ruler of the naught, that which does not exist. Should you who find this need aid, hold it high and call upon me, Xemnas, Superior of The In-Between.

Whoever finds this shell, if you ever find yourself assaulted by the light or the dark, call upon me, the one who walks the path between, and I will show your enemies the power of nothing.

“X-xemnas? The one who walks the path?” Lance spoke softly, puzzled. The single word caused the two objects to glow brightly. He recognized this before when he summoned Blood Cleaver. “Oh you have got to be kidding me!!”

Two black circles opened up on the ground, expanding into two large black portals. After a few moments, two figures stepped out, one tall and the other around the size of Lance. The Azure Striker himself aired on the side of caution, reaching his hand towards his weapon holster. “Okay, both of you, hoods off and hands up.”

The smaller figure looked up at the taller one, causing the taller one to sigh.

“You said this time we wouldn’t have any problems!” the smaller shouted, sounding like a teenage girl.

“I said we most likely wouldn’t get pulled into the same situation,” the taller one, who spoke in a monotone said, looking at the group, “None of you happen to be in a harmony cult would you?”

“No. But we have a question for you.” Humdrum now spoke up. “Who are you and why did you come to Maretropolis?”

“You called us,” the taller one said, “Or do you not know how tokens work?”

Lance himself now took initiative. “I know how tokens work. I just did not expect for me to call upon you just by saying something… But now that you mentioned it, I would assume that you are Xemnas and The one who walks the path?”

“Of course,” Xemnas said, pulling his hood back, revealing his face, “This is my friend Alex,” The smaller figure pulled her hood back, revealing a young girl with black hair and deep blue eyes.

“I’m Gunvolt, but that’s only when I’m addressed by the Masked Matterhorn on missions. My real name is Lance. This is Cody and Humdrum and right now…… we got a lot of problems on our plate. Especially with everything that’s going on right now.”

Xemnas just stared at Humdrum, his face neutral, “May I ask Why is Spike in a super hero costume?”

“How do you know my name?” came the dragon’s reply, a little surprised.

“I’ve met an alternate version of you,” Xemnas explained before a third portal opened and a pony wearing the pairs cloak stepped into view.

“What? You just gonna keep all the fun to yourself?” came a very familiar voice.

“I thought I told you all Alex and I would handle this,” Xemnas said with a bit of a glare.

“You’re not going to leave me behind and go off galavanting around the multiverse” the pony, clearly a mare said, looking up at him, “Besides, the others feel the same way.”

“When we get back, we are having a very important discussion.”

“I’m going to take a wild guess that you two are Displaced.” Lance said sarcastically. “That’s probably the reason why you know Humdrum’s identity.” The Azure Striker felt that this situation was like the same one with Majin Buu since he knew all the names of Twilight and her friends.

“No, we’re just a pair of idiots who got a prank call.” Alex said, rolling her eyes at Lance. Though amusing, Lance wasn’t exactly up for her sense of humor for various reasons.

“Well, the more the merrier I guess. Besides, with all the Villains that were in the Solace Asylum busted out, we’re going to need all the help we can get.”

“I suppose I should introduce myself,” the hooded pony said, getting their attention. She pulled her hood back to reveal the face of Solaria. “I am number 13, Sunset Shimmer, the Key of Destiny.”

“Holy crabapples!! Solaria!?” Came Humdrum’s first reaction, followed by Lance facepalming himself.

“Please excuse my friend. He knows this world version of you that goes by that name and also is my mentor in the Power Ponies.”

“Yeah, if you consider mentoring throwing wrenches at you.” Came Lumen’s voice as she came out of her small hiding place and rested atop the Adept’s shoulder.

“If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball.” Xemnas said with the slightest hint of a smirk on his face.

“Don’t remind me. I’ve already taken a wrench to the face in order for Solaria to test my reflexes-.”

“And him getting hit in the face was hilarious.”

“LUMEN!!!”

“What? It’s true!!”

“That does sound amusing,” Sunset said with a smirk though it seemed a little hollow.

“Ouch, that’s harsh.” Cody said.

“Oh right, I almost forgot. Ms. Shimmer, I am Lance and this here is my friends Cody and Humdrum along with my partner Lumen. Nice to meet you.” The Azure Striker said, sticking out a hand in order to shake her hoof and greet her properly.

“It’s nice to meet you,” she said, giving him a smile, though the joy in her voice and smile on her face both seemed forced. Before any other introductions could be made, a bit of static could be heard as Lance realized that somepony was trying to contact him. Looking at his wrist, he noticed that the caller was Detective Whooves.

“Come in Detective?”

“Thank Celestia you picked up!! We need your help at the police station pronto!! We’re getting attacked by some black… shadows that look like ponies!”

Before Lance could say anything else, he heard what appeared to be the sound of fighting and screams in the background before everything went to static. Turning towards Cody and Humdrum, the Azure Striker sighed. “Well crap, duty calls I guess.”

“Still though, Black Shadows? That sounds weird in itself.”

“Define Weird, Lumen.”

“…… Point taken.”

“Heartless,” Xemnas spoke with some authority, “Your world has come under attack by the heartless. We must move quickly before they have a chance to multiply.”

“Care to explain on the way? You seem to know what these things are.” Humdrum asked as Cody and him got on his board while Lance began to move up to the nearest building.

“Heartless are hearts that have fallen into darkness. They seek more hearts, stealing them and creating more of them. This also leads the to creation of Nobodies.” Xemnas explained. Following their lead, his companions following behind him.

“To take a guess, Heartless are like Pistachios. The nut on the inside is what they’re after and the shell left behind are…… Nobodies?”

“A fair analogy,” Xemnas agreed, “The three of us are Nobodies. We do not truly exist and excluding Alex, neither Sunset or myself feel any emotion.” Sunset looked away, her face neutral.

“I’m sorry to hear about that.” Humdrum said.

“The only way to reunite the two is to destroy both a person's heartless and nobody, thus recreating the original being.” Xemnas explained, summoning up a strange key-like weapon.

“Would that restore the heart of those that were victims of a heartless attack?”

“What part of destroy a person's heartless did you not understand?” Alex asked, raising her eyebrow.

“Sorry,” Lance apologized. “I’m just a little concerned. If what you say is true……”

“Then Twilight and the others…… Oh no.” Humdrum said upon realization of what Lance was worried about. Now he became nervous as well.

“If your friends are heartless, then we simply destroy the heartless and free their hearts,” Xemnas said in monotone, “Their nobodies however... could you look your friend in the face and destroy them?”

“It’ll be hard. But remember, it is not really them. It’s just a shell of what they truly are.” Cody said, trying to comfort the dragon. “How close are we to-. HOLY SH*T!!!”

Cody’s reaction was quite perfect with what he was seeing. A huge heartless the size of a skyscraper was looming over the buildings and it’s hand was coming straight towards the group.

“Look out!!”

Xemnas reacted first, leaping into the air and slashing the beast across the face. It stumbled back, obviously in pain from his odd weapon. Alex summoned up her own, as did Sunset, though she had a pair of them. Lance himself landed on the building and turned towards Cody and Humdrum.

“Keep going. The Station should only be a few blocks away. Tell them I sent you.”

“Got it.” Cody replied as they dashed off. Lance himself drew his gun and switched clips to his Orochi clip and also upholstered the blade that Humdrum crafted for him, channeling his powers as it flickered to life.

“Any strategies for this guy?” Lance asked Xemnas as he prepared himself for a fight.

“Hit his face, though your weapons won't do much good against him,” Alex said, holding up her weapon, “Only weapon the Heartless fear is keyblade.”

“Well, let me just assist then.” The Azure Striker said, beginning to fire a few bolt tags at the darkside. Once he had a certain amount, Lance activated his Flashfield and the lightning from the ability connected with his shots, applying electrical damage to the heartless. Xemnas jumped into the air again, striking the Heartless hard enough to bring it to its knees. Sunset moved into play, stabbing her blades through its hands before Alex hurl her keyblade through it’s face, making it explode in a blast of shadows, a heart floating up into the sky.

“Nice job. But we should hurry to the station. Cody and Humdrum can only hold their own for so long.”

With that said, the small group heard a few shots rang out. Lance recognized them as the shots from Cody’s weapon and began to rush after his friend. The Azure Striker soon found the two of them alongside Detective Whooves and his Wife, Ditzy as they were surrounded by more heartless. This time, in the form of what appeared to be soldiers.

Alex hurled her keyblade again, destroying a good chunk of them, releasing the captured hearts. “Anyone call for some back up?” she asked, catching her keyblade as it returned to her.

“Much obliged.” Cody smirked. “Something tells me though that there's a guy in charge of this mess. Some white haired dude has been looking down on us from up top for the whole time we have been fighting.” As he finished his sentence, he pointed his finger to a nearby building, showing exactly what he meant.

“Drake,” Xemnas spat, his voice actually raising from it’s dull monotone, “Of course he would be behind this.” Behind him though, a new figure showed up. In fact, it was the same one who Detective Whooves had given a sketch for hours earlier. He looked proud of himself and felt like he was standing beside a partner in crime. Proud of their accomplishments together as a team.

“Noah!!” Lance reacted, disgusted by his friend's newfound appearance.

“Well well, Isn’t it the Azure Striker. A real pest if I do say so myself. The names Nova by the way. Nova; The Mighty.”

“Noah, knock it off!!”

“That’s NOVA to you!! Now, I’m going to have to teach you the same lesson I did when my business partner here captured your friends.”

“Oh no…” Lumen rasped. “This can’t be good.”

“Think of it as... payment for my services,” ‘Drake’ said with a smirk, “I don’t exactly work for free.”

Just then, Seven shadows began to form in front of the six of them. But, these weren’t normal Shadows. They were Shadows of the Solaria and the Heroes of Harmony.

“You Bastard!!!” Lance snapped. “How dare you do this to our friends!!!”

“Save your anger… let it fester… it’ll only make your heartless that much stronger.” Drake laughed before turning to Nova, a smirk on his face, “I believe this is where I take my full payment.”

“Ah yes, we should take our leave first beforehand.” Nova said, moving to press a button before Drake turned on him, thrusting his hand into his chest.

“Oh you poor fool, you're hurt has such sweet darkness inside of it,” Drake smirked, a sick grin on his face, “Give it to me!” he ripped his hand out of Nova’s chest, releasing a storm of darkness that he quickly absorbed into himself. face. However, to his shock, the image of Nova soon dispersed.

“Oh, my apologies. This is only a Hologram. You see, I have bigger plans in store and I can’t die just yet. However, my version of the “full payment” allows you to deal with these annoying pests down there. They’re all yours.” Nova finished.

Drake just laughed, a horrible sound filled with hate and malice, “This entire world shall sink into darkness!” He sent the collected heartless at the heroes, still smirking at them.

Lance himself, grinned. “Xemnas, should I leave you to deal with the white haired jackass and we deal with freeing our friends? Cause I’m not letting my companions stay like this.”

“Yes Lee,” Drake sneered, levitating down to them, “Why don’t we spend some quality time together? After all, we are family.” Xemnas growled before dashing forward, slashing his blade at Drake, who countered with his own weapon, a double edged sword.

Lance himself unsheathed his blade as he blocked a few gems launched at him from the shadow form of Radiance. Cody was next to react as he grabbed onto Mistress Marevelous’ Lasso and pulled it towards him, allowing him to shield bash the mare in the body and protect himself from Zapp’s thunder. “You guys okay?”

“Never better!” Humdrum said sarcastically as he had to dodge out of the way of Saddle Rager’s Rage form. “But I could use some help!!!”

Alex heeded his call, jumping onto the creature's back and driving her blade into its back. It shuddered before exploding into shadows, its heart floating up into the sky.

“T-thanks for the save!” The Drake replied as the Nobody helped him up. However, Alex didn’t have the time to reply back as he quickly needed to move out of the way of the Masked Matterhorn’s incoming spell. In reaction, Lance switched clips again. This time, to Vasuki. There was a good reason why the Adept chose this clip. When a bolt from this clips hits it’s target, it ricochet’s to other targets in the area. Once he hit the Alicorn’s projectile with the bolt, the shot went towards the Masked Matterhorn. This caused her to stagger a little and gave Alex an opportunity to free herself from the grasp of the heartless.

As for Cody, He and Sunset were up against Zapp, Mistress Marevelous and Solaria. The Hunter wasn’t exactly as adept as his friend, but he still had some tricks up his sleeve to help put the odds in their favor. Using his guns capabilities, he hit Zapp with a Power Grab shot and obtained her Storm based powers, in which he then used to hit Mistress Marevelous. This was done so it allowed Sunset Shimmer to fight against this world's version of herself. Meanwhile, Humdrum, Lance and Alex were going up against Radiance and Filli-second after defeating the Masked Matterhorn. It was hard for Lance to get a hit on Filli-Second due to her super speed, but thankfully, Alex knew some magic that allowed them to slow down the hyper pink pony blitz.

“Zero Gravity!!”

Soon, the earth pony was beginning to float. She couldn’t get a proper footing as Alex threw her keyblade at the heartless and freed her heart. The Blade returned back just in time to deflect Radiance’s Gemstones as Lance backed her up, having Humdrum assist the Detective back inside the station. The four of them were still standing against the four heartless that remained.

Alex and Cody leaped forth, the hunter using his shield as a wall that blocked Zapp’s lightning, Mistress Marevelous’ back hooves and Radiance’s Crystals while Alex leaped over him to get the three power ponies with an overhead strike. Lance was left with Sunset as they both had to deal with Solaria.

“So, I’m guessing it’s awkward having to fight a dark version of yourself?” Lance asked.

“More than I would ever know, now talk less and fight more!!” The Unicorn instructed him. The Adept complied as he continued to combat the pyro pony, switching clips to Dullahan. The Energy blast clip would be best here since their opponent’s fire magic could ward off any of the other bolt tags that he would try to strike her with. Additionally, he found that Dullahan and his energy blade were a handy combination to have on hand.

At one point though, the Azure Striker saw an opportunity that he could not pass up to deal with all four of them at once. “Sunset, push Solaria to where the others are. I got a plan.”

“Oh? Care to tell me what it is?”

“I plan to get them all in one shot!” The Adept said as electricity channeled around him. The Unicorn saw this as a warning sign and knocked her enemy back. Alex and Cody also saw the electricity around the Adept as he was preparing to use the strongest skill he had to stagger them all in exchange for all three of his skill points that he had kept on hand.

All around the Adept, the area was now surrounded by electrical chains as a high current of electricity shocked the four heartless. For a moment, Alex just stood there. But then, Lance caught his attention.

“What are you doing just standing there?! Finish them!!” The Adept hollered to her as he tried to recover his energy. “If Xemnas is right, your blade is what can free them. Now attack!!”

She didn’t ignore the chance and threw her weapon at the shadowy creatures, the blade spinning around to to the point where it was like a boomerang and then returned to the owner’s hand. It freed the hearts of the remaining ponies, letting Lance breath a sigh of relief. But still, the job wasn’t quite done yet.

“Okay, now we just need to deal with the nobody forms of them. If what Xemnas says is true, and so far it is, then Twilight and the others will be back to normal.”

“Yeah, but where are we going to find them?” asked Sunset.

“I don’t think we need to find them.” Cody said as he pointed to the silver like beings in the distance. “They’re coming for us.”

“Sh*t.” Lance cursed. Around now though, something began to feel warm and vibrate in his coat pocket. To his surprise. “Cody, I need you to take care of this and have Lumen be with you. Someone’s calling me.”

“Seriously!? Right now?! Who could it be?”

Lance didn’t say a name, but all he said before being consumed in a golden flash was the following words. “The last person you would want to meet.”

When the flash disappeared, the Azure Striker was gone. Leaving Cody and Lumen with Alex and Sunset as the power ponies reappeared, all of them with hollow eyes, looking rather dazed.

“Ready?” Xemnas asked, to which his companions nodded, quickly eliminating the Nobodies, who faded back into nothing.

“Well... that takes care of that but...” Alex said, looking at her keyblade before moving over to Humdrum as he came out of the station. She kneeled down, holding it out to him. “In your hand, take this Key. So long as you have the makings, then through this simple act of taking, its wielder you shall one day be. And you will find me, friend—no ocean will contain you then. No more borders around, or below, or above, so long as you champion the ones you love.

“Hey, where did Lance go?” Sunset asked as she looked at Lumen.

“H-he was summoned… By a Displaced.”

“Oh?” Cody asked. “Who?”

Lumen gulped, trying to fight the repercussions of her last encounter. “The Spirit of Madness. Freddy Fazbear.”
