Prologue

11/9/27, 11:43 AM – DETROIT CITY, SARIF CORPORATION TOWER

"Jensen, were sending you to investigate the Hackers Signal from the Factory Complex," Sarif Said.

"Well how do you want me to handle this?" Adam asked Sarif. "If you see heavy security there, try to avoid it. I don't want you ending up dead AGAIN.” Sarif chuckled. Adam took it harshly… “Please, don’t remind me of it…” Adam almost couldn’t take it. Sarif was beginning to regret he ever said that…

“Well, too late to take words back…” Sarif thought to himself. “Adam. You need to get on that drop ship as soon as possible. Oh, and sorry about Malick, She didn’t make it back from your last mission as you remember, we replaced her SF-88 with an AI piloted Variant.” Sarif said. “When will I be heading out?” Adam asked.

“I’m giving you twenty minutes to get armed and ready to head out.”  Those were the last words he ever heard Sarif say.

12:32 PM, EURASIAN CONTINENT, CRASH SITE

Jensen was deep in Cryo sleep. His pod was complete Titanium, if it wasn't, he wouldn't be alive. The crash had sent the pod 5 feet from the SF-88.  Jensen were to be damned here for 7 millennia before he would see day again, and he would never even realize it, since the Cryo super-preserved anything. A thousand years in cryo was a day of aging outside of it.

The region he crashed in had little to no people, and the country wasn’t developed. Sarif Had sent search and rescue, but his pod was in a dense, dense forest Area, and it was near impossible to spot

his SF-88. It wasn’t smoldering, and it wasn’t severely damaged, but it was lodged in the ground.

12/9/27, 2:56 PM – DETROIT CITY, SARIF TOWER

Sarif was giving up hope of finding Jensen. Jensen had been his friend, his employee, and most importantly, his Top Security agent for Sarif Industries, but he knew he’d be insane if he continued his search. Sarif decided it would be best to stop looking for Jensen, and just let it be a Memory of his.

He could hire a new Security agent, but not a new friend…

Adam Awakes

11/10/9027, 9:23PM, ADAM JENSENS CRYO POD

Adams Pod was now out of its last energy reserves. Adam slowly awoke, climbing out of the pod. Adam had forgotten that the only way a cryo pod would shut off was if it was out of energy…

He noticed his arms and legs were slow to respond, and then decided it was an effect of the pod. He observed his surroundings, only to see incredibly dense foliage. Adams first words to be said were “Pritchard, patch me through to Sarif! I’m definitely not in Hengsha!” – No response. “Pritchard!” Adam was once again rewarded with Silence. “Damn it, must be too far from any city.” Adam found some sticks, and attempted making a fire, to no avail. He searched around for awhile, and only ended up  with a clod of grass & sticks to cover him up for the night, seeing as he had no other option but the freezing cryo pod.

11/11/9027, 10:11, EVERFREE FOREST, ADAMS CAMP

Adam awoke under his makeshift “bed,” if you could even call it that. Adam realized that the air smelled fresher… and that there was no air Traffic in sight. “Strange…” Adam thought to Himself. His Augments were strangely still operating slowly and not at full capacity. He had only one power cell left to power his Augmentations. Adam searched his cryo pod, barely remembering if he had brought anything. A box of Cyberboost ProEnergy bars, a Praxis kit, a 10MM Pistol with an AP Attachment, a Combat Rifle, and a .357 Revolver is what he found.

They were particularly tarnished and rusty. Adam stowed his weapons in his (somewhat large) Backpack.  Adam was having trouble with his Augments once again, his arms wouldn’t respond for a whole minute this time

. He had a huge headache and the smell of cryo was deeply embedded in his lungs.  Adam began to think of the possibilities that could have caused this… “Okay, my Augments could have gone faulty, I could’ve been in cryo too long, I could be being jammed by some Electromagnetic signal, or someone disabled me.” Adam began ruling out EMP’s, or being disabled, since he wasn’t even remotely close to any civilization as far as he could see. He had narrowed it down to Faulty augments and being in cryo too long, but as of now, that didn’t so much matter as finding someplace to stay.

Adam decided to consume his ProEnergy bars, and they were unreasonably hard and stale. “Good thing these things are packed with preservatives…” Adams Sarif series energy Converter changed his ProEnergy bars into Electricity for his Augments. His Augments still weren’t functioning correctly, though. “Something must have been damaged in the crash,” he said to himself.

Adam Checked his world map, the GPS Was out. “Strange… I’m beginning to think this wasn’t just a crash. Sarif would have Search and rescue out by now.” Adam began to starve. He had to eat something soon. Adam got up from his camp and began a hunt for meat, and he knew it was his only option now since he hadn’t packed any “real” food. Click. Adam loaded a 10MM magazine into his pistol. Adam didn’t like it, but he was going to be eating some raw meat from some unlucky Animal.

Astonishment

11/10/9027, 8:36 AM, RAINBOW DASHS PALACE

Dash was fast asleep, dreaming of endless clouds, endless flight space, and no one else around to bother her. CRACK. CRACK. CRACK. CRACK. Dash awoke to loud cracks of noise, similar to lightning; but the Pegasus ponies hadn’t scheduled a thunderstorm for today and definitely not this early. CRACK. CRACK. Dash was getting very annoyed at this. She flew out outside to see who was causing this irritating loud noise. “HEY! STO-“ But she saw no one. She just assumed they got scared when they heard her and flew off. CRACK. Dash was getting sick of this. CRACK. She noticed the noise was coming from below on the forest floor, and flew to investigate it.

11/10/9027, 8:36 AM, ADAM JENSEN, FOREST

Adam spied a rabbit, “Finally, something to eat…” he crept closer, making sure to keep quiet when stepping. Once he was satisfied he was going to hit it, he fired, and missed, so he fired 3 more in succession, only attracting attention to himself. “ROOOOOOAAR!” A Manticore shouted. Adam whipped around and instinctively shot at it, without even thinking. “What the hell?” Adam thought to himself. “This is one creepy place…” The Manticore lies on the ground, bleeding out, and a hole in its right arm and the left side of its chest. Adam knew he had no choice, and sliced a portion of the arm off. He knew it would taste nasty, but he took a bite anyways, and almost threw up. He had almost been killed to get this meat, and wasn’t about to throw it up. He forced himself to contain this odd animal’s arm meat in his stomach. He had to get out of here before this dead body attracted any more attention. Adam thought this animal may be “Some sort of a genetics experiment on animals.” Adam put on his signature grey coat, and placed his pistol into one of the combat vests pockets. Adam scouted around the forest, and decided that a cave would be the best place to stay. Adam heaved two logs and a few sticks to help start a fire in the cave. “This time,” He thought, “This will be much easier.” The cave he was in now was much less muggy and cold than outside. The rest of the cave would remain dark; however, this was not a problem for Adam. He had light augments embedded in his synthetic eyes. Once the fire sparked, a couple dozen bats flew out of the cave and flew away to find their precious darkness once again. Adam felt the warmth of the fire unfreezing his arms and legs, and defrosting his cryo ice-flake saturated hair. He scanned around for a flat enough rock to sit on, then moved to the near-exit of the cave to pick it up, bringing it back with ease. He sat on the rock, thinking about his life. “What happened to Megan?” “Why am I stuck here?” “Why me?” He pondered on these thoughts for a couple of minutes, almost completely ignoring the outside world, what some would call: “Staring off into space.” He considered going outside again, but remembered that Half-Lion-Half-Scorpion beast thing that tried to kill him earlier. Why would it do that? Adam knew he had done nothing to provoke it.

Adam knew it; he was going to be stuck here for a long time. Sarif Industries would have sent a drop-ship to find him by now. Had GPS also been down? This was either a major coincidence, or something was very, very wrong.

11/10/9027, RAINBOW DASH

Rainbow Dash had flown down to the Forest to have a look around the area the pesky noise was coming from. She smelled the smell of death; a wretched stench of a nearby corpse. That corpse belonged to none other than a Manticore, with massive bleeding holes scattered on its body. She almost puked at the sight. EUGH! , she shouted. Dash saw a couple of metal casings that looked like metallic tubes with no tops, colored like brass. She also smelled smoke; the smell of burning wood mixed with the smell of a rotting corpse was disgusting. The source of the smoke was identified as a cave a couple hundred feet away. Dash was becoming frightened; A dead Manticore on the ground bleeding? Smoke coming from a relatively close cave? This was seriously scaring Dash. She wondered if she should even check the cave out, seeing as the thing in there could be the thing that killed the Manticore. She could “Mare up” and investigate, or chicken out. Of course, no-pony would ever know, though. Dash picked up a small stone and threw it into the cave, yelling “Hey! Come out!”

11/10/9027, ADAM JENSEN

Adam heard a rock clunk on the cave floor, followed by the voice of a teenage feminine sounding voice uttering “Hey! Come out!” He noted some amount of fear in her voice. “Who are you!?” he shouted. The voice replied “No, who are you!” He retaliated with: “Hey, I asked first, now, who are you!?” “Fine! I’m Rainbow Dash! Now tell me who you are!” “What the hell kind of name is that?” He thought to himself. “I’m Adam Jensen, and what the hell kind of name is that?” “What kind of name is Adam Jensen?!” She replied. “Show yourself!” He yelled. Adam looked and listened, hearing a loud clop of what he assumed, boots, hitting the floor. He looked and saw a small blue horse, and only stared in astonishment. She did the same thing, the two both amazed at what they saw. The both of them sat and stared for what seemed to them, forever. They both asked the same question at almost the same time:

“What are you?”
