Chapter 2: Actually Not The Only Chapter

Previous Chapter Next Chapter

6 months later

My comrades and I walked out of the Commissariat, chatting on and on about our usual business. As typical for the average Moscolt Winter, we were all blasted by a wave of cold wind that flapped our uniforms and blew straight into our faces. Thanks to our heavy coats, ski masks, bullet proof goggles as well as our people's natural hardiness against the freezing weather, we were impacted very little and simply continued on.

"I can't believe I'm going to go back to border duty in Maredlovsk soon." shook comrade Commissar Georgy Kalashnikov Jr, referring to our Easternmost city. "Those damn southern Yak tribes still act like they own our country like they did before the revolution. And that's nothing to say about those smugglers who think they can ship in contraband they stole from Neighpon or Ponsia."

"Didn't your dad, Georgy Sr. once try to trick the famed Inspector years ago by pretending to come from the fake country of Trobrastan?" I smirked.

I could tell Georgy's pale skin was turning red under his balaclava. "Yes, and I have to endure his role as a dumb comic relief in every adaption of the EZIC fiasco. Trust me, I'm only in the Ministry Of Admissions to restore our family's honor."

"Come now comrade." said Commissar Tigran Mikoyan. "You're serving the Arstrotzkan collective good. That's the greatest honor you could achieve."

"Easy for you to say Tigran." muttered Georgy. "You got deployed to Marevan to oversee feuds and squash corruption in the brandy making collectives. I would have killed to get that job if it weren't for me trying to redeem my bumbling father."

"Sorry Georgy, but I'm afraid you don't know the old dialect or alphabet those in the southern Coltcasus regions still use. Better leave it to an expert like me." bragged Tigran.

"At least be glad you weren't deployed to Maremasnk." I remarked. "Nice city northern city and all, but Ice Giants, Changelings, and Vikings jacked up on dark Scandineighvian magic make for a pretty depressing military garrison."

"Oh please, that would be a blessing." laughed Georgy. "I'm no psychopath, but it would be amusing watching those Ice Giants and vikings go down effortlessly against our artillery and tank battalions."

"That, and we'd be in the presence of some of the loveliest lady Commissars ever, like your cousin Lev." added Tigran.

"Or your sister." I snapped back, causing Tigran to chuckle.

I sighed at the mention. My older cousin had made a name for herself in both her high achievements in the Commissariat academy and on the Northern Peninsula's battlefields. She, like most other female Commissars, were sent to the northern regions as female Arstrotzkans could handle the cold better than the men due to their stronger bodies. As Arstrotzkan foot soldiers in north were mostly young, unmarried and heterosexual men however, it didn't take a genius to know how their political officers boosted morale in the frigid regions.

"If anyone is going to keep morale high in that remote hellhole, it's those fine beauties." smiled Georgy under his mask.

Suddenly a voice called out to me.

"Commissar Ulyanov!" snapped a voice I knew all too well.

We faced the direction of the voice and immediately raised our left hands in a clenched fist salute, the official sign of solidarity among the people of Arstrotzka.

"At ease comrades." greeted the figure otherwise known as Major Commissar Ivan Rykov, a respected officer and student of the fearsome M. Vonel during the EZIC crisis. "I trust you had good things to say in your reports to the Commissariat?"

"Of course Comrade Major." nodded Tigran. "The Brandy collectives have been producing faster than ever since the beverage finally exploded in popularity in the North."

"Oh, but I bet the workers in the Vodka collectives won't like that." laughed Rykov. "We better hope they don't start hiring mercenaries to beat out competition." He wasn't wearing a mask, thus exposing his mustached face and streams of saliva onto our masks.

After I wiped his spit off of my goggles, he finally calmed down.

"Is there a reason you called my name Comrade Major?" I asked.

"Why yes Ulyanov, or can I call you Lev?" replied Rykov.

"Whatever works." I shrugged.

"Well Lev, me being a Major Commissar in the Ministry of Information in our glorious capital of Moscolt means I have the honor of being forwarded information sent in from highly ranked individuals." told Rykov.

He took out an envelope. "This morning, I happened to be forwarded a letter to you from a very prestigious individual."

"A letter?" I muttered, grabbing the envelope. "Who here still uses tho......."

My mouth hang agape upon seeing who sent the letter.

Tigran and Georgy took one look at the letter and I could tell they were smiling haughtily under their balaclavas.

"Princess Cadance?" I muttered. "I haven't heard from her since..."

"You betrayed the working class by soliciting with royalty?" joked Georgy.

"I didn't betray the working people of my nation and a Commissar like you should know better than to invest time in some petty bourgeois gossip." I retorted.

I remembered that week thoroughly everyday. The week I had spent with Cadance in the world summit where I first made love to her in our hotel room. While my passion was in politics, it seemed all I could remember about that week was whenever we had sex during our private hours. Those thoughtful and intimate instances on the beach, in the shower or in bed made me somewhat regret never trying to pursue my relationship with her further.

Although we did those deeds in private, it didn't take a genius to know that's how me and Cadance spent our nights during that summit. In our defense though, we hardly the only diplomatic couple there. Thankfully only my friends seemed to tease me about it.

"Ah that banter of yours." shook Rykov with a grin. "You remind me of me and my friends when we were just young comrades ready to make the world a better place."

I opened the letter and read its contents.

"Does she want you to defect to Equestria in the name of love?" teased Tigran.

I ignored him and finished reading the letter. I looked up at Rykov. "She wants me to have dinner with her, Princess Celestia and a few other Equestrian nobles tomorrow night in Canterlot."

"Well I don't see why we should deny her the opportunity to dine with a Commissar like you." smiled Rykov.

"But sir, don't I have to go back to working in Moscolt in the Ministry Of Foreign Affairs in a few hours?" I replied.

"Comrade Sargent," sighed Rykov. "Your role is to do whatever is necessary for the sake of our glorious People's Republic in the sphere of foreign policy. There is no reason whatsoever for you to deny a relationship with a foreign Princess."

"Relationship?" I gulped as my friends snickered. "Major Commissar sir, this is probably just a dinner and we haven't actually gotten there even though we've...you know...."

"Well, you better get to it and this dinner should be the perfect opportunity!" beamed Rykov.

"But isn't having a relationship with a Princess from a semi feudal nation considered class treason?" I questioned.

"Think about it like this comrade." pointed Rykov. "Equestria might not be a huge global power, but not only will you be bridging that gap between our two nations, but you will also have access to information about the Equestrian crown that we may need and will be further legitimizing collectivist and egalitarian ideals to the Equestrian public."

"Not to mention we won't have to worry about Cadance producing a new royal line of Equestrian monarchs." added Tigran.

"Right you are comrade." nodded Rykov.

"Wouldn't I be somehow using Cadance for the sake of national goals by doing this?" I inquired.

"Not at all." answered Rykov. "There was obviously something between you two and a good Commissar ought not to suppress possibilities especially when they can greatly benefit our public."

I blushed underneath my mask. "Very well then."

"Good!" exclaimed Rykov. "We've prepared a train ticket for you that will depart tomorrow morning for Canterlot. You should arrive in the royal palace by 7 and have some time to settle in the castle before you have dinner at 7:30."

"I'm guessing I can't opt out of this right?" I grinned under my balaclava.

"Not unless you don't want to remain true to yourself and deny our nation this important opportunity." inferred Rykov.

I smiled happily. "Well, Cadance is without a doubt the greatest girl I've ever known....for a monarch."

Tigran patted me on the back. "Do us proud lover boy."

"And please stick it to whatever Canterlot snob you encounter. Raise some class consciousness while you can." encouraged Georgy.

"Will do comrades. Will do." I assured.

"Just so you know, we've sent the tickets to you via mail and are prepared to send in an Arstrotzkan Security Vanguard Detachment member for your safety." noted Rykov.

"I'm sure I won't need an ASVD member sir. It's Equestria for crying out loud." I insisted.

"Eh, you never know what that bourgeois paradise of Canterlot might turn up." shrugged Rykov.

"Plus, the Ministry Of Information was probably just going to send an agent there to collect information anyway." muttered Georgy.

"Well that settles it. Now if I were you three, I'd get out of this freezing cold all up in my face." said Rykov.

"Sir, you know you can wear a balaclava right?" pointed Tigran to his mask.

Rykov looked insulted. "And what? Deny people the opportunity to gaze at this?"

He began twirling his mustache and made his way. "Glory to Arstrotzka!"

We raised our left fists. "Glory to Arstrotzka!"

My friends shared their parting words with me and headed their own individual routes. I began making my way to my Moscolt apartment, re reading Cadance's letter the entire time in the snowy streets.

It had been a while since I last saw her, and never before had I considered fully entering into a committed relationship with her. A part of me thought it would be a fruitless effort to try and start up a relationship with her considering I was a die hard collectivist and she was a Princess. Or there was the fact that she probably didn't see me as a true romantic interest and I was about to go make a normal dinner awkward.

Still, a part of me felt that I wanted this more than anything.

Two days earlier

Cadance took a deep sigh, lying on her bed face up and staring aimlessly at the ceiling of her room. She was clad in her usual night clothes; a pink shirt, elbow gloves, knee high socks and blue shorts. After a long day of managing Canterlot policy, it felt like a blessing to slip out of her dress and lie on a soft mattress.

Although her productivity never sank, she now found herself thinking about a certain Arstrotzkan political officer for the past month during her free time and work.

It all started when she came back from that world summit where she made love to Lev in their hotel room for the first time. During that erotic and eventful week, they had made it clear to each other that they didn't see each other as romantic partners, but rather as really passionate and close friends.

When she returned to Equestria, she expected to continue dating Shining Armor again, only to discover that he had been redeployed to Hoofington. One final date later where they agreed to break it off at that point, and Shining boarded a train away from Canterlot. Last Cadance had heard from his parents, he had already begun seeing another girl.

On one hand, Cadance felt happy that Shining would be able to find love and move on from her. Not to mention, she wouldn't have to explain losing her virginity to an Arstrotzkan Commissar to him. On the other hand, she felt a sense of disappointment that her fling with Shining didn't go past being a brief post high school crush. She had since accepted however, that it was all that was going to amount to now.

Now in her arms she clutched a toy bear, clad in a green Arstrotzkan cadet uniform. She remembered receiving it as a gift from Lev when they were just children, who explained that the bear was one of their national symbols and made for a popular toy among the youth.

It was a sweet gift, albeit one that caused some concern among her friends, almost all of which were part of the elite Canterlot background. The Arstrotzkan government no doubt despised every last one of the aristocracy, and Cadance had to always think of ways to change the subject whenever someone would find out about her relationship with Lev.

She took a deep sigh as she continued to think and stare aimlessly at her ceiling, clutching the teddy bear tight. A large part of her was regretting not pursing her relationship with Lev, which she was now beginning to realize was motivated out of a fear that he would reject her out of his sense of collective duty. Cadance wondered what would have happened on that passionate week had she just asked to officially become his girlfriend.

All of a sudden there was a knock on the door, the pattern of which instantly brought a smile to her face. She sprinted to the door and opened it with her gloved hand.

Cadance greeted her guests with joy. "Hi auntie!"

In front of her was her 'aunt', Princess Celestia, the Alicorn of the sun and leader of Equestria. She stood at an impressive height and as usual, was clad in a brilliant white dress that hugged her voluptuous form, with silk white elbow gloves and her golden crown to match. Being a naturally born Alicorn, her tri colored hair sparkled and waved in an ethereal manner.

Celestia spoke with her warm motherly voice. "Hello Cadance, I think there is someone who wants to see you."

Cadance smirked. "Oh, but of course."

She looked down and next to Celestia was the most precious little girl in the universe, Twilight Sparkle. The little sister of Shining Armor who had a heap of magical talent inside her. It was funny to think how the girl she babysat would end up becoming Celestia's protege, but the world did indeed work in mysterious ways.

"Cadance!" chirped the young Twilight. Cadance wasted no time in crouching down and hugging her favorite little girl in the world. When they met in the mornings, they'd break into their little handshake, but in the nights greetings were kept simple.

Twilight let go of Cadance and started talking rapidly. "You won't believe happened today! We were practicing freezing things and so we started out with me freezing tiny little things like pins and plants, but at the end of the day, I ended up sealing the entire throne room in ice!"

Cadance raised an eyebrow. "The entire throne room you say? I hope no one was hurt."

Twilight defensively shook her head. "Nu-uh. Safety first. No one was in the room except for me and Princess Celestia."

"That's my girl." giggled Cadance. "I'm telling you auntie, Twilight is destined for great things."

Celestia folded her arms under her impressive wrack. "Indeed. Things beyond our imaginations may soon become a reality with her."

Twilight wrapped her arms around Cadance once more. "I'm so sorry, but I have to go to bed now. We'll see each other tomorrow right?"

"Of course we will." assured Cadance.

"Yay!" squealed the young Twilight, bouncing up and down. She was a genius, but still an utterly precious child as well.

The next thing she knew, Cadance saw a maid come to Twilight and start escorting her to her room. She and Celestia watched the pair until they moved out of sight, where Cadance turned her attention to her aunt.

"Auntie Celestia, may I share something with you that's on my mind?" asked Cadance.

Celestia smiled and nodded affectionately. "Of course my dear."

Cadance ginned and she and Celestia walked into her room. She lifted a hand to cast a spell over the door to magically seal it tight.

Cadance took a deep breath and grabbed her pink shirt before slowly peeling off, leaving her voluptuous top with just a pink bra. Ever since she became of age past 16, she frequently slept in lingerie, both because she couldn't comfortably sleep fully clothed and because it was allegedly an old Princess tradition the same way Princes slept only in their briefs.

Sure enough, Celestia followed suit by taking off the straps of her white dress one by one, causing her silky white garment to fall to her knees and leaving her in lingerie too. Celestia's pale white skin glowed under the light and her tall buxom figure was something to be admired. Her lacy white bra looked like it was about to break free with the largest breasts that Cadance had ever known while her thigh high socks complimented her impressive legs greatly.

Had they been actual blood relatives, things could have been super awkward, but Cadance had since seen Celestia as both a trusted friend as well as a family member at the same time.

"So," said Celestia picking up her white dress and teleporting it away, no doubt to her room. "What is it that you have on your mind?"

Cadance sat on her bed and sighed. "You remember Lev right? The Arstrotzkan I met when I was just a kid?"

Celestia placed a gloved finger on her lip and nodded. "Ah yes, Commissar Lev Vissarinovich Ulyanov. You know, I always pictured that you two would end up getting together, even amid our nations' ideological differences or your fling with Twilight's brother."

"Well..." Cadance trailed off as she reached for the Arstrotzkan teddy bear and hugged it close to her chest, causing Celestia's eyes to widen in surprise.

"The thing is," remarked Cadance. "I've actually been thinking a lot about Lev ever since I came back from the world summit."

"Well of course you would." laughed Celestia, placing two gloved hands on her bare belly. "You and him spent an interesting week during that trip, no thanks to me of course."

Cadance blushed. "It's not just that auntie. When I got back from the summit only to find out that Shining Armor was leaving for Hoofington, I expected him to be on mind the entire time."

Cadance took a deep sigh. "It almost seemed perfect. An inspiring royal guard and brother of Twilight....Shining really seemed like the person I'd eventually get married to."

"But now you find yourself thinking about Lev." Celestia hope onto Cadance's bed and sat down next to her, causing her breasts to wobble and jiggle with the sheer speed at which she moved.

"At first I thought I only saw Lev as a passionate friend whose priorities meant that it was impossible for me to pursue a relationship with." explained Cadance. "But now, I'm beginning to think I actually loved him this entire time. Even more than Shining."

Celestia flexed her ethereal her and stretched her body forward, causing her bra to nearly burst and free her voluptuous pair. "It makes sense, you two knew each other since childhood and have been there for each other despite massive national and cultural divisions. On the other hand, Shining Armor, even if he was Twilight's brother, was just a high school sweetheart crush and those relationships tend to burn quickly."

"Lev's been on my mind for quite a while now." muttered Cadnce. "I should have figured that he meant something a whole lot more to me when I decided to have sex with him on that night."

"So why don't you write him a message expressing your feelings? I'm sure that ought to help your case." suggested Celestia.

Cadance raised an eyebrow. "True, but do you really think he'd even accept me? I mean, he's probably massively into Collectivist ideology and won't even consider romance, much less with a Princess. What do you think?"

Celestia smiled. "First, I think that's the luckiest little bear in the planet."

Cadance looked down and saw the head of her Arstrotzkan teddy smothered by the cleavage of her under boobs. Blushing, she set the stuffed plush bear next to her on her bead.

"Second of all, I think it's pretty clear that if no one batted an eye when you made love to Lev," Celestia blushed. "Or whenever I got intimate with an Arstrotzkan Premier over the decades, that no one from their side will be against you getting together with a political officer."

"Well, your encounters weren't exactly meant to go anywhere right?" pointed Cadance. Indeed, she knew about her aunt's promiscuous relationship with many of the leaders of the great powers, the only men ever who seemed to not either fear or be unsettled by her enough to not mind screwing around with her during diplomatic visits.

In fact, Cadance got the idea from Celestia to even have sex with Lev in the first place. Not as something meant to be taken too seriously, but as a sort of thanks for being with her throughout her life. Now, she wanted something much more out of that.

Celestia playfully stoked a lock of Cadance's hair. "Come now Cadance, I'm sure you and Lev were just scared to admit your feelings. I on the other hand was just making the most of my immortality with leaders who would otherwise settle into proper relationships after their term."

"Do you think that starting something with Lev is worth a shot?" asked Cadance.

"Of course it is. I might not know him as well as you do, but I'm sure he probably feels the same way about you deep down." replied Celestia.

"You do know how much attention this is going to attract though right?" noted Cadance.

"To be honest Cadance, I believe that you getting into a relationship with Lev would be a God send for the Arstrotzkan People's Republic anyway." suggested Celestia.

Cadance raised an eyebrow. "How come?"

"You remember Equestrian law right?" reminded Celestia. "No one can become royalty or an Alicorn unless they are born an Equestrian into the monarchy or have ascended to alicornhood. As Lev is not a national Equestrian, he can't marry into legal nobility. As he's also a non magical Terran human, any child you would have with him would be a non magical Terran human as well."

"Oh, so now we're talking kids huh?" chuckled Cadance. "It does make sense though. If Lev did get with me, the Arstrotzkan Collectivist government wouldn't have to worry about a new line of royals to deal with."

"And even though Arstrotzka is a world power, their people for some reason still see us royals as some sort of global elite, so I'd imagine they'd find a way to propagandize your future relationship as some sort of class victory." inferred Celestia.

"I suppose your right." agreed Cadance, thinking about the amusing implications. "But what about the Equestrians?"

Celestia's face sank. "To be honest, I think our own people might be the bigger issue to deal with."

Cadance shook her head. "I've already gotten some heat with my friends for being close to Lev and a few of his 'comrades', so to enter an outright relationship with him, or even to get married with him would provoke some notable negative reactions."

"Well, why don't we start building a bridge right now?" suggested Celestia.

"And by that, you mean dating Lev to reduce tensions between our countries?" replied Cadance.

"Exactly." answered Celestia. "If things were to work out between you and Lev, a lot of the common people of Equestria will no longer see Arstrotzka as a looming threat representing radical ideas and technological supremacy over magic. True, the tiny Equestrian elite will still most likely be against it because you will be dating a Collectivist and non Equestrian, but I vouch that they won't attempt to do anything rash to enrage a nation that hates them for their class status alone."

"So, I guess dating Lev will be a good thing for our country as a whole too right?" smiled Cadance.

"Indeed. We'll have improved relations with a superpower and Arstrotzka won't have to deal with a new royal hereditary line." summed up Celestia.

"To be quite honest, I'm not too excited about starting a new hereditary line myself." chuckled Cadance. "I've seen what being born into power and wealth can do to people."

"And that's why I'm happy my son will be getting a normal childhood as well." beamed Celestia.

"And by normal, you mean being the assistant to one of the most powerful magical users we've seen right?" chuckled Cadance, referring to Celestia's son Spike, a dragon born whose father she only knew as some warrior Celestia met two years back. As he was born with non Equestrian genes, he wouldn't receive any privileges of nobility, but at least had a great mother and future sister to take care of him.

"Well then, I see no reason why you shouldn't be asking Lev out right now." noted Celestia.

Cadance formed a sheepish half smile. "I don't know auntie. For all I know, he might not feel the same way."

Celestia wrapped her gloved arms around Cadance and pulled her close. "Cadance dear, you're the greatest girl anyone right now could ask for. There's no way based on your history with Lev that he doesn't truly have feelings for you. Besides, you won't find out until you ask him."

Cadance found her face near Celestia's cleavage and chuckled. "Whoa! That's motivating and all, but I don't need to buried near your chest."

Celestia let go of her niece and Cadance sat back up, a blush on her face. "How about you invite Lev over for a dinner here in the castle and finally tell him how you feel? It ought to put these questions to rest."

Cadance thought about it deeply before coming up with an answer. She looked up at her aunt and smiled. "Sounds like a plan. I really hope it works out."

"Oh, I'm sure it will be utterly romantic." teased Celestia. "And it will open up a whole new chapter in Equestrian foreign relations."

"Right." blushed Cadance. "But auntie...is it alright if...well..."

Celestia raised an eyebrow. "Yes?"

"Is it all right if the dinner isn't one on one? I'd like for you to be on my side." said Cadance, finally mustering the courage to say it. "I'm sure he wouldn't mind."

Celestia hugged her niece from the side again and gave her a peck on the top of her head. "Of course my dear. I'll make the arrangements myself. You just worry about contacting Lev and figuring out what to say to him."

"Shouldn't be a problem." replied Cadance, blushing due to the feeling of her nearly bare breast asymmetrically docking with her aunt's.

"Splendid!" chirped Celestia. She stood up quickly, causing her breasts to hypnotically bounce again. "Although I will note that word of us getting together with Lev might mean some people will feel the need to invite themselves over for company."

Cadance sighed. "I know what you mean." She then smirked. "Although if it means giving Lev the ability to give them a piece of his mind, I'm sure he'll be even more tempted to come."

Celestia formed a devilish grin. "It will be amusing to say the least. I'll go write up arrangements for Friday at 7:30 in the royal dining room and you can start writing to Lev now. Got it?"

"Got it." acknowledged Cadance.

In a nearly blinding flash, Celestia teleported away.

Cadance wasted no time heading for her desk and taking out a quill and paper. She thought for a good 10 minutes on what to write before finally jotting her invitation down, trying to sound formal, but not trying to make her true intentions clear either.

Once she was satisfied, Cadance put down her quill and took a deep yawn. It wasn't too late into the night, but she needed to turn in now to get up early for royal policy management. She figured she would send the letter during her first break in the morning when the post office was open.

Cadance headed to her bed and picked up the Arstrotzkan plush bear, taking a good look at it as it reminded her of the person who gave it to her. She then proceeded to levitate it towards the night stand next to her bed which she crept into.

She used her magic to dim the lights and then reached for her bed's blanket. She covered herself in the sheets, but couldn't just fall asleep yet.

"What if Lev doesn't feel about me that way?" whispered Cadance to herself. "What if I'm wasting my time......"

She took a deep breath. "No. There's no way he would just..."

Candace's voice trailed off as she reached for the Arstrotzkan teddy on her night stand.

She hugged the stuffed bear close to her bare belly under her blanket as a sign of good faith and crept to sleep.
