Chapter 1: Not The American Back Roads

Not The American Back Roads

Dean lay in what he perceived to be a black void unable to see anything. Despite his efforts Dean could not move, not out of lack of trying but his body did not feel right like it was different. What the hell!? Dean thought as he tried to move his arms. He wanted to move his fingers but he could not feel them, as a madder of fact he couldn't even feel his feet, all he could feel where stubs where his hands and feet would be. Finally he let out a moan hoping he was just drunk.

"Your finally awake...Ish." The voice of Deans younger brother Sam rung in his ear. For some reason Dean could hear Sam's voice much more clearly than normal.

"Sam that's you right?"

"Yeah Dean it's me but I don't look like me."

A flow of thoughts rushed through Deans head all negative, did a demon get to Sam? Is that trickster son-of-a-bitch Gabriel back!? "What happen, and why can't I open my eyes or move!?"

"I don't remember but when you're finally able to open your eyes just don't freak out or else you'll get queasy."

Dean like usual didn't understand what Sam meant but slowly made his way upward using his 'nubs' and quickly realized he couldn't stand on two legs. "Sam why.... why can't I...?"

"It's best if you stand on all fours Dean, it's the only way to stay balanced."

Dean did as Sam said and found his 'nubs' fit to the ground perfectly. "Well I'm up but why can't I see?"

"Your mane is in the way."

Did Sam just say my mane? Dean thought then suddenly a blade passed by Deans face, the darkness immediately left and a bright light filled deans vision. When Dean's eyes adjusted to the light he was met by a tan-colored four-legged creature with a horn and light brown hair on the top of his head, the same color hair on a tail it appeared to have. Dean's immediate action was to punch the thing but only having his nub as he quickly found out was now his new hands and feet he swung it at the creature only to find himself in a dark blue aura and about a foot off the ground.

"Let me go you, you... Whatever  you are!?"

The creature in front of Dean smacked one of its nub against its head. "Dean for once just shut up and don't attack the first thing you see!"

Dean was silent when Sam's voice came from the creatures lips. "Sam is that you!?"

"Yes Dean it's me."

"...Sam please tell me I'm either drunk or in hell again."

"No Dean you're not drunk and this isn't hell, far from it actually."

"When did Heaven get the Hello Kitty make over package?"

"Not Heaven either."

Dan started to ponder where they are. From what he could see they where in a forest of sorts and it looks as if someone, likely Sam, had made camp. Old eaten apple cores and cups lay scattered around the floor, the center of the mess held a fire place surrounded by large stones surrounding it. Burnt wood lay within it still giving off smoke. Suddenly the dark blue aura surrounding his body diapered and Dean fell to the ground with a loud thud. Sam gave a small laugh as Dean tried to regain balance while getting up.

"Laugh all you want Sam but you look stupid."

"You don't look all that different from me!"

Dean quickly turned his head around and saw his body, he had a fur coat that was a shade darker then Sam's. His hair or mane as Sam had called it was a dark brown almost black. Their was a mark on the side of Dean's ass, it looked like his demon free tattoo but was red and yellow like the sun. He looked over to Sam and saw his was the demon trap but was a dark almost blackish blue and looked like it was drawn over a moon.

Dean turned back over to Sam. "What the hell are we?"

"Ponies." Dean gave Sam an expression as if San had spoken in gibberish. "I'm serious Dean."

"Ponies? Then why do you have a horn!?"

"I'm a unicorn, you're an earth pony."

Dean gave Sam a look of disapproval and confusion. "And how do you know that?"

"Well..." Sam scratched the back of his head with an uneasy expression across his face. "You've been out of it for a while Dean."

Dean's eyes widened in alarm. "How long!?"

"... Three days."

"Three days! And what have you been doing while I was doing a sleeping beauty!?

"Sleeping beauty was asleep for a hundred years Dean."

Dean let out a grunt of anger. "I don't care! What have you been up to!?"

"Same thing we always do when we go somewhere. I found a town about a miles walk from here and started some research on this place."

"Sam this isn't some place on the American road map it's a whole other planet!"

"More like another universe, remember when Balthazar sent us to that world where we where actors and our life was a T.V. show?"

"That's not something you forget Sammy."

"Well this might be the same thing, we should be glad that this world has magic in it unlike that other one."

"So we can leave then?"

Sam sigh'ed. "Not quite, yes this world has magic but we need the symbols and ingredients to go back and since neither of us remember what happened that got us here we're stuck until then."

Dean kicked at the ground a little bit with his nub. "Oh yeah and what the hell are these things!?" Dean shoved one of his nubs in Sam's face.

"That would be a hoof Dean. Now if you're done with your tantrum can we go? Now that you're awake we can gather some more info on this world and hopefully a way back home."

Dean kicked around before answering. "I guess. I do remember driving before I blacked out though. That reminds me where is the impala?"

Sam's body tensed up and Dean took notice. "Sammy? Did something happen to my baby?"

Sam spoke with a hint of fear in his tone of voice. "Well... It did come with us but it changed..."

Sam pointed with his hoof over to a large chariot painted black bearing the license plate of the Impala on the front. Dean moved over to his pride and joy and gave a mighty roar that echoed off into the sky.

"That's it we're leaving this hell hole!"
