As the smoke cleared, Rarity was only gravely astounded by the source of what caused an explosion in her home: A large, muscular, white horse stood in her sight, slightly crouched as if it was struggling to stand. The white horse was where the very entrance of Rarity’s boutique used to stand, but it was now crumbled to dusts.
“Who is this?!” she shouted in panic, “What are you doing?!”

The horse moved a leg… another… and started walking towards Rarity. Rarity became paralyzed in sheer fear.
“Wha—ghh—GET AWAY FROM ME!!”
“Sis! What’s going on!”
Rarity noticed Sweetie Belle call out to her. Immediately, Sweetie Belle was shocked at the monster going after her sister.
“RUN, SWEETIE BELLE!”

Rarity watched, flinched on the floor, as her attacker approached the piece of Ivory set on her table and grabbed it by altering the shape of its hoof. It effortlessly walked on three legs towards Rarity as she desperately tried to fight her paralysis and crawl away.
“W-who are you? W-what are you going to do to me?”

“I am a Terminator. You are a threat and must be terminated,” it replied, its voice deep, monotone, and cold.
Rarity could not see the ivory the Terminator held stab her as fast as lightning. Her intense pain originated from her lower abdomen and there she saw the ivory stuck in deeply.
“AAAAAHHHHHH!!!”
The intensity… the blood… the Terminator. In a second, her consciousness drifted away.

The Terminator let go of the ivory, allowing peace to Rarity’s body.

The Terminator looked around, finding that he was surrounded by many kinds of clothing. It determined most of them to be inappropriate for his use. After a few seconds, its eyes set on a black leather jacket and a white t-shirt, both hung among other colt-wear, which appeared to actually fit it correctly. It approached the jacket and the t-shirt, bit them, and pulled them away from their hangers.
Then, it walked away from the disaster zone: A half crumbled Carousel Boutique adorned with some blue embers on the floor and topped with Rarity’s lifeless body within it all in the very middle of a cruel, cloudy night.

The next day, the citizens of Ponyville ignited into a panic. Confusion and fear plagued the poor equines. An attack like this had never happened during the lifetimes of anypony alive today. Arson… theft…
… and attempted murder.
Never did the doctors of the Ponyville Hospital imagine they’d ever have to deal with an emergency that didn’t involve simple sickness. A wound specialist from Canterlot had to be called in while doctors desperately tried to keep Rarity alive.
The hospital, as a result of lack of emergencies, wasn’t very large. A couple of floors, natural remedies, and a cheerful atmosphere was usually more than enough to get patients back on their hooves.
In the waiting room, there was no cheerful atmosphere, just five anxious teen-aged ponies and three school-fillies on the threshold of tears.
There was Twilight Sparkle, the intelligent, violet pony, Rainbow Dash, the iris-mane, sky-blue Pegasus, Fluttershy, a cream-yellow Pegasus in love with the land and land animals, Pinkie Pie, usually cheerful and happy, but now caught in the anxiety, and Applejack, an important worker for the Sweet Apple Acres farm.
The school-aged fillies with them were Apple Bloom, Applejack’s little sister, Sweetie Belle, Rarity’s little sister, and Scootaloo, who with the other two formed their alleged group, the Cutie Mark Crusaders.
“So… all of you are relatives of Miss Rarity?” A doctor approached the group.
“We are her friends,” replied Twilight, “But this girl here is her younger sister.” She pointed her head down towards Sweetie Belle.
“Very well. Miss Rarity is still in critical condition, but the wound specialist is expecting her to survive now.”
Everyone released a great deal of tension at the news. By the way the doctors had described Rarity’s condition, they had doubt of Rarity’s survival cross their minds. Hearing this allowed some to sigh and shed a tear of hope or two.
Not soon afterwards…
“Alrighty! No time to lose!” interrupted an unknown coarse voice. Upon attention, a Pegasus that appeared to be dressed as law enforcement had entered the area of the waiting room. “Where’s a Ms. Sweetie Belle here?”
“Officer,” replied the doctor, “The sister of the patient is this little one.”
“Well… where are the parents? How’s she in here without her parents?!”
Sweetie Belle tried to reply. “Well, you see-“
“ARGH! We have no time to waste! You teen girls, you with her?”
The doctor began his retreat, strongly disliking the noise pollution emanating from the officer.
“Well, yeah,” replied Applejack, “We’re the friends of ‘er big sis.”
“Good, I need two of you to escort her to the Emergency Investigation Camp we set up next to the crime scene. Only her. Got it? No waste of time necessary. Tell ‘em Officer Gary sent you.”
Quickly, Gary trotted away and out.
“What was with that cop?!” exclaimed Rainbow Dash.
“He’s just anxious, probably,” said Pinkie Pie.
“Wait, he can’t separate the Cutie Mark Crusaders!” complained Scootaloo.
“Yeah! He can’t just take Sweetie Belle away!” said Apple Bloom
“DAN’ IT AP’L-BLOOM NOW’S NO TIME FOR YER STUPID GAMES!”
It took a few seconds of awkward silence for everyone to process what just happened: Applejack had shouted at her sister. It became apparent she had rage and exasperation swirling visibly in her eyes as she desperately, since the last few hours, tried to repel the last bit of carefree childishness left in the children from the grave situation. Applebloom could not even flinch.
Regret began its journey, from all directions, onwards to Applejack’s heart.
“Ye have to… understand…” Applejack started to shed tears, “How serious this is. One of our friends was ‘bout to get killed by sum madman, and yet ye insist on yer childishness I’ve told ye thousands of time is ‘em i’rational to dem oranges!”
Slowly, deep inside Apple Bloom’s mind, her knowledge of the true childishness of her ‘work’ for so much time now only expanded. The shock appeared to affect Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo similarly.
Without warning or vocal sign, Apple Bloom ran away from the group, towards what appeared to be the restroom area.
“Sugarcube…” Applejack attempted to follow Apple Bloom. Pinkie Pie quickly stopped her.
“Applejack,” she said, “I’ll try to cheer her up and get her to understand.” Pinkie smiled as she affirmed her ability and gift of laughter. Applejack quickly knew she could trust Pinkie and backed away. “You and Twilight should go with the cops with Sweetie Belle while Rainbow Dash and Flutt-… Hey, where’d Fluttershy go?”
“She probably started playing hide-and-don’t-seek when that loudmouth cop barged in,” joked Rainbow Dash, “I can take care of Scootaloo myself anyways. Right, bud?” She gave a quick wink to Scootaloo. Scootaloo nodded in agreement.
“Sounds like a plan,” said Twilight, “Sweetie Belle, Applejack, let’s go.”
Twilight, Applejack, and Sweetie Belle departed from the waiting area, while Pinkie Pie went to the restroom area, leaving Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo to themselves.
“Hey, how about we see who can find Fluttershy first?” said Rainbow Dash.
“Oh, you’re on!” exclaimed Scootaloo.
“Alright, we—“
Suddenly, the two heard a shout from afar in the hospital.
“Nurse!!! What’s a yellow Pegasus doing stuck in the snack vending machine?!”
Rainbow Dash felt her jaw drop. “How… why…”
“Better not to ask, Rainbow.”

The Terminator was slyly hidden within an alley by two restaurants. In a few seconds, it shrunk its body size and leg length to somewhat closely resemble a typical white pony. It was dressed with its black leather jacket and white t-shirt, now slightly loose, but something was missing…
>Notice: Concealment For Optical Receptors Required
The Terminator quickly scanned the area for something to satisfy its objective. Out of nowhere…
“Hey, my sunglasses!”
The Terminated noticed a pair of sunglasses fly towards him and a bland green, adult pony chasing after them.
“Damn it, Jim, don’t slap me like that again!” he called back.
The Terminator approached the sunglasses, quickly standing against the owner. Even shrunk down, it was significantly taller than the pony.
“Hey dude,” he said, “Those are my sunglasses.” The pony quickly became slightly intimidated by the cold, robotic stare the Terminator gave him.
“I will be keeping them.”
“No way, dude, you can’t do that.”
The Terminator took some time to react. After a while, it simply turned around, facing away from the pony.
“Well, man, I mean, still not right for your bubbly butt to be above my s—ARGH!”
SMACK! The unfortunate pony was in the air in a split second, the Terminator’s left hind leg extended. It had kicked the pony away with a great force.
No attention was called, as the pony landed within the alley. The pony’s chest area was bruised to blackness and accented with seeping, dripping blood from arbitrary points on and around the bruise. The pony struggled to regain his air.
“Why…oooff… the heck, you bastard…”
The Terminator was already facing the pony by the time he could recover. It looked down at its prized, extremely dark sunglasses, grabbed them with its hoof, and slowly placed them where they belonged as it coldly stared at the defenseless pony a distance from him.
“Deal with it.”
It walked, step by step getting closer to the pony, looking to the front and no longer acknowledging the pony’s existence. As it was closed to exiting, it stepped on the pony. The massive weight and force of a single hoof crushed his lower ribs. He could only gasp, and was damned to never scream for help.
In an instant, the Terminator blended in with the traffic in front of the restaurants. Many more seconds had to pass before a few high-pitch screams from behind it sounded, signaling someone had noticed the body.
And yet, the Terminator was long gone… and never suspected.
