Long ago, there are two alicorn sisters that rule the kingdom. The younger one lowers the sun to make the way for the moon, and the older one rises the moon at dusk. Soon, the younger one noticed that the ponies don't like her day... She became jealous and resentful, and vowed to shroud the world in eternal daylight.

When the older one noticed, she tried to reason with the younger one, but the younger one refused and transformed into a mare of evil light- Solar Flare! The older one gathers the most powerful weapons known to ponykind- the Elements of Harmony! The older one reluctantly banished Solar Flare and imprisoned her in the sun permanently. Now, she takes responsibility for both day and night.

One evening, Princess Luna lowers the sun after banishing her sister. She decides to sing a song to her sister, who is currently imprisoned in the sun because of Celestia's transformation into Solar Flare. As the sun is close to disappearing on the horizon, there is a dark red figure of the Mare in the Sun. Luna takes a deep breath as she starts to sing. She remembers directly what has happened on the day of her sister's banishment. The supernova sun almost scared her to death, though.  "Fate is cruel and unkind......" She sang, "Why did I send you away? It's my own blame, and the punishment is never meant to be yours, but your actions have forced me to banish you....... Hopefully you rest as the thousand years pass......."

Luna gasps as she races into the throne room. She notices the flames burning up the whole place, and an orange alicorn lands onto the ground, chuckling evilly at her reaction. "Celestia, stop! This is not what you would do. This isn't like you! Lower the sun," Luna said.  

"Celestia? I'm Solar Flare. I'm only here to destroy you! You will suffer from outshining my sun! The day shall last forever," Solar Flare retorted.

"No, it won't. I don't have to get the Elements, do I?"  

Luna flies into the air, and then she gathers the Elements of Harmony.

Meanwhile, Celestia thinks about her deeds, while still being corrupted. She feels like she's going more insane each second. "Am I insane?" She asked, "How my deeds pain me so........ Why am I so cruel to the world?"

She sighs as she stands up. "Luna, why did I not listen? Surely I'm such a fool," She whispered, "Rest easy, please...... The punishment is mine. That is really what I deserve for going rogue....... The Dark Flame has gripped my heart. How could I have hurt them in this way? Could it be madness? Or could it be envy? But, I will sing this warm lullaby as you go about your night........."  

The flames flicker angrily around her as Celestia starts to sing.

Luna flies into the ruined castle, and picks up the golden regalia that her sister once wore before becoming evil. "Lullaby, Tia....... May you hear my lullaby, and forgive me for being so blind....... I love you so much more than you know, not for the monster you were, but for the filly you are!" She sang as she thinks back to the time when they were in public to be seen by the adoring citizens.

Luna waves at the cheering citizens as she makes a regal entrance into the throne room. "Greetings, my subjects! I'm so happy for you to be here. I know, you've been waiting to see the moon rise!" She said as she activates her magic. She chuckles happily as she starts to rise the moon.

Behind the door to the throne room, sits a saddened young alicorn. "Why would nopony watch the sunrise or the sunset? Luna's being adored again," Celestia said, "It's just the usual...... Nopony even cares!" She feels the anger and resentment grow in her young heart.

"So great is her reign! And how glorious, her night! She hasn't known that she has cast a shadow on her sister. She only watched as her sister's unhappiness grew," Luna shouted to the skies, "The shadow turned into flames as the days and nights pass!"

Luna is on the verge of tears as her heart beats faster than a simple tap. She turns the Elements of Harmony into stone, knowing that she didn't successfully save her sister. She simply banished her, as a wise ruler must do........

"Bear upon this song, Tia, echos of the skies! Through clouds, and through space," She said, "Please forgive me for being so blind!"  

Celestia lays down as she hears the song. "I gleamed like the predawn, knowing that nopony loves the light of day! Why must it be so? Everypony complains about the daytime workload, and then they awaited your night many times, and they didn't dare look at the sun or sunbathe because of a simple doctor's warnings! The sun doesn't only blind and burn, and many times, I tried to tell them, but they dare run away from me!" She sang as she starts sobbing, "Why won't you be there to share the spotlight, Luna? The sun threatened to grip your citizens in permanent heat!"

As Celestia approaches the crowd at a festival, she starts to speak with the traditional Royal We. "Greetings, dearest subjects! Dost thou not know how glorious the sunrises and sunsets can be? Our sister's night is gorgeous, of course....... But the day can also be gorgeous. Tis does not always rain," She said.  

The ponies back up in fear at the sound of her voice. "She's just trying to overthrow our dear Princess Luna!" A citizen shouted.  

"What?! Thou hast no reason to fear us!"  

Celestia slams the ground, and glares hatefully at them. "THOU WOULD NEVER SEE OUR SUN! WE WON'T EVEN BOTHER WITH A ROYAL FAREWELL!" She screamed angrily.  

Luna flies close to her, and tells her to calm down. "Not now, sister! Leave me alone! WHY DID THOU GET ALL THE ATTENTION AND WE DON'T GET ANY?" Celestia retorted as she flies home.

Luna flies back outside, and gazes at the aftermath of the battle that took place before Celestia's banishment. "Rest now, in the sun's embrace. Carry the light and warmth of day, and please forgive me for being so blind! The limelight sweetly took the mind of its host, and that foolish pony did nothing to halt the destruction of one she loved most! Tia, you're loved so much more than you know," Luna sang as she points her hoof at the sky, "The years now......"  

"Luna, you will be destroyed! I won't let the moon rise," Solar Flare declared, "Bring it, coward."

"You wouldn't say that, Celestia. I love you, but you must stop this nonsense! I don't like this at all," Luna replied as she activates her magic.

"No, don't!"  

A huge magical beam pushes Solar Flare further and further into the sun. "May you return someday........ You don't deserve this at all," Luna said as she starts crying.

"The space, before us......" Celestia said as she points at the Earth. She wants to be by her sister's side, but that isn't possible right now.

"Empty and-" She sang.  

"Unknown," Luna finished, "I love you......"  

"And I miss you," Celestia sang, "All these miles away!"  

Luna sighs as she lands onto the ground. She can still hear the battle in her mind very well- Solar Flare's angry threats, and the explosions from the battle's impact. "May all your dreams be sweet tonight," She sang, "Still, how did I not see the dark flame inside of you? Now that you're gone........"  

"May these moonless seasons swiftly pass!" Celestia shouted as she feels herself once again going mad.

She can hear Solar Flare's evil chuckle very well. "Celestia, you know that your sister will never love you for what you did," Solar Flare said.  

Celestia sighs as she willingly gives in to her words once more. "Hopefully you dream peacefully tonight, for someday I will return....... Do not know of warmth, love, and care........ Sleep," She sang with a slight deviousness.

"When I dream, I'll fly and meet you there. Sleep, sleep......" Luna finished.
