It all began as  normal day. The sun was beating down on Ponyville. Twilight Sparkle was sitting at a Cafe, reading a book on Monsters and Myths and eating an apple Applejack had given to her as a freebie earlier. As she crunched, the Cutie Mark Crusaders zoomed around from a corner, laughing as they rode on Scootaloo's scooter. Busy ponies pulled carts and wagons, filled with goods, like apples. Twilight smiled, turning the page with her magic. She had just gotten to the page about Minotaurs. She had read this book a lot of times, but what was the harm in reading a book a few times over? Twilight felt strange all of a sudden. Like a bad vibe had just hit her. Surely it was nothing. It was such a beautiful, peaceful day in Ponyville. Nothing bad could possibly happen. Then...why did she feel so bad?

She was pulled out of her thoughts as she felt a very light vibrating. She tilted her head and looked around. The other ponies seemed to have also noticed it, looking down at the ground in confusion. A lot of ponies in the streets stopped, staring at the ground. Murmurs of "What the?"

and "What's happening?"

Filled the air. They were silenced with an abrupt hush as the faint sound of trotting could be heard. It began to get louder and louder, the thumping beginning to pierce Twilight's mind.  Then out of nowhere a mass of shadowy ponies crashed through the streets of Ponyville at high speed. Twilight peered round the Cafe corner and gasped in horror as the shadow ponies filled the streets, their red cat eyes glaring at everyone. Ponies started running away. Unfortunately for The Cutie Mark Crusaders, they couldn't stop in time and crashed right into the swarm. Twilight was frozen with fear as their screams sounded out before being muffled by the shadow ponies.

Scootaloo's scooter flew out from the swarm, before being crushed under the many hooves of the attacking shadow ponies. Twilight screamed herself, distressed with emotions and terror. Her eyes welled up with tears, staring into the black mass. She weeped, sobbing in fear and sadness,trying to move but she couldn't, her hooves glued to the ground.

"Cmon' RUN TWILIGHT"

She mentally screamed at herself. She finally forced her legs to run, charging forwards. Crowds of terrified ponies rushed with her, some pushing others out of the way. Those who were pushed were tumbling backwards and were killed in the swarm instantly, either crushed by hooves or just eaten alive quickly. Twilight screamed again. She looked up to see Rainbow Dash flying above her head, the streak of rainbow chasing behind her. She looked as panicked as everyone else, as shadows filled the air too. Rainbow looked down and noticed Twilight.

"Twilight!"

She yelled, swooping down to fly low beside her.

"What's going on? C'mon, you're the egghead here, what are they?"

"I don't know!"

Twilight screamed at her, tears dribbling down her cheeks, splashing onto the ground as she ran, trying to escape the swarm. Suddenly the mane six was there beside her. Applejack had abandoned her wagon. Pinkie pie no longer looked happy, but scared as she ran.

"Twily! Twily, what do we do?"

She squealed, crying.

Rarity was screaming and yelling.

"Sweetie! Sweetie's dead!"

She sobbed. Twilight wanted to hug Rarity, but she couldn't, not in this high speed chase.

"Rarity...I'm sorry! I'm sorry!"

Was all Twilight managed to choke out as she sobbed too.

"Just...run"

She yelled to her friends. Applejack was crying too.

"Applebloom and big mac, and granny smith, they're all DEAD!

Rainbow dash looked at her friends. She was just as frightened as they were. She wished she could do something. She wanted to go and punch those shadow ponies in the face. But she couldn't. She would be killed. So she just flew silently, sad at her friend's loss. The number of shadow ponies seemed to be multiplying, their screeches and hisses growing louder as more hate and murderous intent filled them.

"Wait a second.. If Applebloom and Sweetie Belle are dead...th-..that means..."

This sudden realization hit rainbow dash so hard, she screamed as loud as she could.

"SCOOTALOO!"

Waves of emotion hit her as she cried Scootaloo's name over and over

"NO!"

Due to her shock her wings suddenly clamped shut. Rainbow dash didn't have time to land and run with them. She tumbled, making clouds of dust as she fell back and began rolling. Her leg took out Rarity, and the both of them flew back, rolling away. Rarity yelled for help, before her screams, along with Rainbow Dash's screams were masked as they fell into the swarm. Twilight was in full panic mode as she sped up. She looked up to see Fluttershy, who stared back at her.

"Twilight! Rainbow and rarity's de-"

She couldn't finish her sentance as a shadow pony leaped through the air at her, sinking fangs into her plot. She screamed in pain and fell down. The world seemed to go in slow motion as she fell to hear death, smashing against the ground at high speed, instantly killed.

"NO!"

Twilight screeched as she went even faster. Pinkie followed. Applejack screamed too, but upon getting distracted, she fell into a appletree Ponyville had been growing. It creaked and groaned, and toppled over onto her, crushing her easily.  Pinkie Pie was the only one Twilight had left now. As they ran they shared glances of fear.

"Wait a second! Princess Celestia!"

Pinkie yelled. The crowd of ponies looked up to their ruler of the sun. She peered down in anger at the shadow ponies. They had just killed some of the Elements of Harmony, and she wasn't about to let that go. She looked down to see Twilight's smiling face, wet with tears. "Princess! It's really you!" A shadow pony leaned back, then pounced, hooves out, grabbing Twilight's tail with its sharp teeth. Twilight's eyes widened as she looked back to see the Shadow Pony. She yelled

"Celestia!"

She was then pulled back with such a force a few of Twilight's bones audibly snapped as she was yanked back and thrown into a wall. She squealed in pain and struggled as the shadow pony pinned her down. Celestia swooped at it filled with anger, desperate to save her beloved student. She could see a purple glow as Twilight's horn lit up, firing magic at the shadow pony.

The purple magic blast went straight through it, and hit some ponies in the crowd, knocking out a good few, sending them to their deaths. The shadow pony raised it's head and lunged down, ripping into Twilight's neck. Twilight was dead, blood staining her once beautiful purple coat, and soaking the ground below her as it gathered in a pool.

"NO!"

Celestia yelled. A crowd of ponies panicked, not even caring as they charged past. A shadow pony sank it's teeth into Celestia's plot. She growled and her horn lit up with yellow coloured magic. She hit it with the most powerful spell she could, but in her grief for the death of her faithful student, she missed, and instead smashed into a few homes. A small fire lit, but then blazed high, burning Ponyville into ruins. Shadow ponies bit into Celestia's front legs, pulling her down.

She began to panic as they also bit into her back legs, drawing blood. She yet again tried to fire, but missed again. A shadow pony grabbed her horn in it's teeth, and the jagged knife like teeth pulled her to the ground by her horn. Celestia's face was buried in the dirt, so she couldn't do anything. She was powerless. She had failed to save Twilight, which saddened her most of all. As she sobbed into the dirt, she heard a cry of

"sister!"

She instantly recognized Luna's voice, and her scream too as she was pulled down, and her breathless gasp as she was killed. Now completely filled with despair, she gave up, sinking her face in the dirt.

"I'm so sorry Twilight and luna...and Equestria...I'm sorry."

She choked out, gasping. She faded into dust, poofing. All was quiet for a few seconds, until the sun seemed to shake and quiver. The moon was first to go, as a faint explosion was heard in the distance, as the moon exploded. Next was the sun. Burning hot shards flew upon Ponyville, impaling a few as the shards made everything around them burn up in a large blaze of fire. The sky turned a deep purple as the moon and sun withered with the deaths of Celestia and Luna.

Pinkie still remained, the last element of harmony, as she turned and dodged flying shards. She rushed into Sugar Cube Corner, sliding down the door once she was inside, sobbing hard. She covered her face with her hoofs. Memories of her friends hit her, all those times she partied with them. Her hair was flat against her head. She sobbed still as she felt the door being hit behind her.

The door was hit again and again as shadow ponies rammed it.

"G-goodbye world....I-i love you"

She trembled, sobbing. Her body was shaking wildly as she was wracked with sobs and cries. The door was now rattling, clearly about to be knocked off it's hinges. She tried to scream, but  instead choked with tears, rolling away from the door. The rattling door was now shaking wildly.

  A loud creaking groan meant it was about to crash down, and shadow ponies would fill the room.

"Why...."

Pinkie cried, curling up into a protective ball.

"Please...someone save m-me...anyone"

The door splintered, chunks flying off of it.

"G-Goodbye"

Pinkie croaked before the door smashed down, and the screeches and wails of the shadow ponies filled the room. The windows chipped, cracked and smashed, more flying in through that way. Many shadow ponies flew towards Pinkie as she squeezed her eyes shut, waiting for the blow as shadow ponies landed on front of her, killing the last member of the mane 6.

Ponyville was left in ruins. The shadow ponies had abandoned the small town. Fires had burned down and left piles of ash blowing in the soft breeze. Dead ponies lay strewn around the street, looks of shock and terror on their faces. Twilight's dead body lay with Celestia, Luna's body a few feet away.

Twilight's wound had dried up and rotted. Buildings lay smashed, parts of them and bricks lay around, scattered. Signs swayed in the breeze, hitting the ruins of what they used to be attached to so they creaked and moaned, smashing against the wall they were attached to.

The crushed remains of Scootaloo's scooter and the cutie mark crusaders lay next to it. Rarity had been half crushed, and rainbow dash had fallen back next to Scootaloo, and by coincidence her hoof had landed on Scootaloo's tiny one.
