Tried, Tested, And True Goodness

Two months had passed and Adagio had mostly returned to her old self. She’d locked the den since her son’s urn was destroyed and hadn’t let anyone into it since, not even herself. She’d even thrown away the key to her den, though unbeknownst to her, Aria had retrieved it.

Adagio sighed as she poured over the financial records at the bar, taking a deep swig of her liquor while Sunset supervised.

“How’s it looking?” Sunset asked, wiping a glass with a towel.

“Profits are up,” she sighed as she took another swig, “Seems that more and more people are ordering drinks, and less are tipping the dancers. Remind me to raise their salary to compensate.”

“I’ve noticed that,” Sunset said as she bit her lip, “I don’t even know why. I know one of them quit last month, but it wasn’t a debacle.”

“It’s the girls,” Adagio concluded, “When you see the same girl getting naked every day, you feel less compelled to tip them.”

“Good point,” Sunset placed the glass back onto the shelf behind her, “Especially since we don’t always get newcomers very often.”

Adagio shook her head, “They still enjoy them, but… fewer and fewer bits are being stuffed down their thongs. Only ones who suffer are them.”

“Which is a shame,” Sunset sighed, looking toward the stage.

“Like I said, remind me to raise their salaries at the start of the month,” Adagio said as she took another swig.

Sunset nodded, taking out her little notebook and jotting something down, “Duly noted. Anything else?”

Adagio looked up at Sunset for a moment, “...Nah, that’s about it,” she said before she looked back down and closed her book.

Leaning over the bar, Sunset nuzzled her, “How do you feel?”

“I’m okay, just tired,” Adagio nuzzled her back, “Thank you, by the way, for keeping everything going the last few months.”

“You’re welcome,” Sunset smiled, “Even the matriarch of our family needs some help.”

Adagio kissed Sunset’s cheek, “...Sonata still upset?”

This made Sunset’s smile drop, forming into a sad pout, “She’s… better, but she’s not her usual, sunny self. I did tell her to try focusing her energy on helping you, and I can tell she has. But I don’t think she’s going to be the same for a while. Aria’s not helping matters…”

Adagio rolled her eyes, “That reminds me, I haven’t been keeping an eye on Aria, what’s she been doing?”

“Burying herself in video games, surprisingly,” Sunset said, “Otherwise, she just kind of keeps to herself and reads her mystery dramas.”

Adagio sighed. She hadn’t made it a secret that she was furious with Sonata for destroying her son’s urn, and both her and Aria had picked up on it differently. While Adagio was somewhat short-tempered with her these days, Aria was outright foul to Sonata. At times it felt like she didn’t love her anymore.

“Aria’ll get over it eventually,” she resigned, coming around the bar and sitting next to Sunset, “...And so will I…”

“I know you will,” Sunset brought an arm around her, “We all will. But listen, there is something I think you should know. She didn’t outright say it, but I think Sonata’s afraid of you guys. That’s why she’s so quiet lately. She thinks anything she says will set you off.”

“Right now, I think that’s for the best,” Adagio said, wrapping an arm around Sunset’s shoulder.

“I don’t think it’s the best course of action,” Sunset admitted, “But I completely understand why. So… it’s going to be a tough process, but we just have to keep going. And you know I’ll help you with anything you need, Mom.”

“Thanks…” Adagio sighed as she hugged Sunset tighter, “...Where are they right now?”

Sunset sighed a little, snuggling her, “Aria was playing some games on her laptop, and Sonata’s in the bedroom on the floor, I think she was doing a puzzle. She doesn’t even go in the same room as Aria anymore.”

“Probably for the best. Aria might tear her throat out if I’m not there to supervise,” Adagio said as she kissed Sunset’s cheek.

“I actually considered sending Sonata to stay with her aunt for a bit. Just so she could get away for a little while and not feel like everyone’s against her. But I knew that it would send a message that she’s unwanted, and I don’t want to do that,” Sunset sighed.

“As long as she behaves, she’s fine to stay,” Adagio said quietly, “If Aria’s going to continue provoking a fight, she can be the one to go stay with family.”

“I wouldn’t want to do that, but I see why,” Sunset kissed her forehead, “I’m going to go back up and check on them. Do you want to come?”

“Sure,” Adagio said, setting the closed sign onto the bar as she stood up.

Sunset took her hand, then led the way up to the apartment. She opened the door, finding a single light on in the living room. Aria was on the couch, laptop on her lap (supported by a cooling pad), playing what seemed to be an action-packed video game. The bedroom doorway was partly closed, but Sunset spied Sonata through the crack, doing a puzzle on the floor.

“Looks like everything’s okay,” Sunset remarked.

“That’s good, I suppose,” Adagio nodded as the two of them returned to the club floor, “Thank you, Sunset.”

“Hey, no need to thank me,” Sunset nuzzled her, “I love my family and I’ll do anything I can to help keep us going.”

“I know, but still,” Adagio sat back down behind the bar and kissed her cheek, “You’ve held everything together. The club, the girls… and me.”

Sunset kissed her cheek as well, hugging her, “Well, I just want to have a level head about all this. I think someone needs to be able to help even when the matriarch is in need. And I’m more than happy to help you like that.”

Adagio smiled and nuzzled her, “I hope that doesn’t mean you’re starting to grow a dominant streak, Sunny,” she giggled.

“As if!” Sunset laughed, giving her a playful poke to the cheek, “Nah, just call me the… peacemaker, if you will.”

Adagio perked up and kissed Sunset’s forehead, “That’s good… Mommy likes her cuddly girl.”

“And cuddly girl I shall be,” Sunset giggled, “Besides, I know Twilight would be so sad if I was no longer a cuddly little mouse, either.”

“Oh yeah, Twilight loves her girls to be small and snuggly,” Adagio giggled, kissing Sunset’s neck.

Sunset kissed her head, nuzzling her hair, “So don’t you worry. My submissive tendencies in the bedroom are still around.”

Adagio smiled and nuzzled her as her hands came around to slip underneath Sunset’s shirt, “That’s good to hear…”

“Mm-hmm,” Sunset gently stroked her hair and squeezed her shoulder.

Adagio pulled back and smiled, “Take your shirt off, sweetie.”

“All right,” Sunset did so, taking off her shirt and placing it aside.

Adagio smiled as she brought her hands up to cup Sunset’s bra, “My my, even smaller than last time, sweetie?”

“Maybe,” Sunset smiled coyly, arching her back slightly.

“Just love pushing up that cleavage, don’t we?” Adagio giggled.

Wiggling her chest, Sunset giggled and nodded, “You bet. I also recently bought a push-up bra.”

“Oh my,” Adagio smiled, “You just love showing off this wonderful chest, don’t you?”

“When you love boobs like this, you can’t help but show them off somehow,” Sunset giggled, winking at her.

“Indeed,” Adagio grinned as she kissed down Sunset’s neck, “Mmm… goodness you have such a lovely figure, sweetie.”

“You just noticed?” Sunset teased, running her hands along her sides.

“I noticed a while ago, I just never said anything,” Adagio giggled, squeezing Sunset’s rear.

“Oh, right, suuuure you didn’t,” Sunset nuzzled her and laughed.

“Mmhmm,” Adagio kissed her cheek, pulling back, “Now, take your pants off, sweetie.”

Sunset nodded, pulling down her pants and then stepping out of them, “How’s this?”

“Lovely,” Adagio said, pulling her closer and running her hand over Sunset’s thigh. Sunset was the youngest out of the four, only being nineteen while Sonata and Aria were twenty five and twenty six respectively. For Adagio, that was just perfect, “Goodness, you’re so smooth.”

“Mmmm… Thanks… I use body lotion all the time,” Sunset cooed.

Adagio purred and picked Sunset up, setting her onto the bar and stroking her thigh as she kissed her neck, “Still smells like cinnamon…”

“Tried, tested and true goodness,” Sunset purred, toying with her hair and giggling.

Adagio smiled and kissed down her neck, stopping between her breasts and kissing slowly and softly. Moaning a little from her touch, Sunset leaned back a bit and rubbed at Adagio’s shoulders sensually. Adagio’s hands came down to cup Sunset’s rear, her thumb hooking into her panties and gently tugging them down as she continued to kiss Sunset’s sweet spot.

“Oh, Mom…” Sunset nuzzled her hair and sighed softly, “You never lost your touch…”

Adagio giggled and slid Sunset’s panties off her legs, gently prying her thighs apart as she lowered herself to her knees, kissing Sunset’s stomach, “Thank you, I was afraid I’d gotten rusty.”

“Nah, far from it,” Sunset assured with a giggle, “Feels like you haven’t missed a beat.”

“Thank you…” Adagio smiled as she kissed Sunset’s stomach.

Unseen to Adagio, Sunset’s countenance took one of being slightly sad. Over the past two months, any and all sex between any of them were non-existent. She and Adagio occasionally engaged, but beyond that, not much else was done. Now there was sex play to be done, which she did like in itself. It sounded like great fun. Yet, having to exclude the rest of the family seemed so wrong to her. There were good reasons why, but Sunset still didn’t like this dynamic at all.

Nonetheless, she managed to smile and nuzzled her hair, “Sure thing, Mom. That sounds like fun.”

“Good…” Adagio purred, peering up at her, “And Ari and Sona can play with you too… assuming they can get along.”

Sunset smiled sadly, “I can go to them separately to start, maybe slowly integrate them a little. Maybe it’ll help a bit…”

Adagio stopped for a moment, looked up at Sunset and then stood up, “Get dressed, we’re going upstairs.”

Nodding, Sunset pulled her clothes back on, and adjusted her boots, “All right, let’s go.”

“Sonata?” Adagio said firmly as she opened the bedroom door.

Looking up from her puzzle, Sonata looked at her with a mix of curiosity and something akin to a child awaiting a scolding, “Yes?”

Adagio looked down at her and her face softened somewhat, “...Mommy thinks she’s punished you enough.”

Sonata looked at her, now a little confused, like she wanted to ask further questions. No real “punishment” had been issued like a mother would do, yet what was going on felt like one. Nonetheless, she nodded slightly and barely moved, “...Okay.”

Adagio stepped further into the bedroom as Sunset took a seat in the chair by her dresser, “Stand up, come over here.”

Nodding, Sonata stood up, taking a few careful steps toward her. Her hands wrung together nervously, her eyes shifted slightly, but then remained back to Adagio’s form. She swallowed, but otherwise reached the spot she’d been told to come to. Adagio reached out and took Sonata by the shoulders, pulling her into a tight hug as she kissed the top of Sonata’s head.

For a moment, Sonata stiffened, her arms having gone limp as if she didn’t know what to do with them. She then shook a little as she returned the hug, burying her face into Adagio’s shoulder and sniffling softly.

“No crying,” Adagio said softly, stroking her hair, “Mommy still loves you, you know.”

This made Sonata look up, revealing her eyes to be teary, her lip quivering. She shook slightly, squeezing Adagio’s blouse as she clutched it with her fingers. “I… I love you too, Mommy… I just… don’t know what to feel anymore…”

Adagio kissed Sonata’s forehead and gently stroked her back, “I know… you’re not leaving are you?”

“No… I won’t leave unless you want me to,” Sonata murmured, “I promised you I wouldn’t leave, Mommy. And I won’t…”

“Mommy doesn’t want you to go,” Adagio whispered, “Mommy loves you too much…”

“I don’t want to go, either. I love you too much, too,” Sonata sniffled, nuzzling her, “I’m… I’m sorry… I just want to make things right again, but I don’t know how…”

“Well… I know where you can start,” Adagio said softly.

“Really?” Sonata looked at her hopefully, “W-Where?”

Adagio pushed hard on Sonata’s shoulders, pushing her down to her knees, “Here.”

“...Huh?” Sonata looked up with confusion.

“I said you can start here,” Adagio said, softly stroking Sonata’s hair, “Mommy’s feeling deprived, sweetie.”

For the first time in what felt like an eternity, Sonata smiled brightly at her. It made Sunset’s smile return as she observed the two, leaning back a little bit. Sonata nodded eagerly, carefully pulling down Adagio’s skirt, then her panties. Her hands clutched at her thighs, eagerly running her hands along the smooth, warm skin. She planted little kisses along her thighs, going upward.

“That’s a good girl…” Adagio purred, stroking her hair and leaning back against the wall, “Mommy missed you…”

“Mmm…. I missed you too…” Sonata cooed sweetly, eventually reaching her destination. She nuzzled Adagio’s sex happily, before proceeding to lick and suckle along the surface.

Adagio shivered and threw her head back. It was very rare that she was on the receiving end when she and her girls had sex, but right now it was positively heavenly, “Oh… there we go… Mmm, Mommy might just do this more often…”

Sonata giggled and hummed against her sex, pating the folds and licking at her labia. It definitely felt nice to be on the giving end for a change, to see what she could do in order to make Adagio pleasured. Right now seemed like a more than perfect time to do it.

“Ahh!” Adagio gasped, her legs quivering as she glanced down at Sonata, “Ooooh… that’s Mommy’s special girl,” she cooed as she circled her finger around Sonata’s ear.

“Mmm…” Sonata hummed happily, nuzzling her mound. She eventually brought her tongue to her entrance, plunging the muscle inside. Already she could taste the precum leaking, which Sonata savoured.

“Mm… such a good girl,” Adagio smiled, glancing up to Sunset, who had her hand down her jeans as she watched the both of them, “Enjoying yourself, Sunny?”

“You bet,” Sunset smiled as she pleasured herself, “But I’m also glad to see you two getting cuddly again. I had to watch fluffy bunny videos,” she quipped.

“You always did have the weirdest taste in porn,” Adagio giggled as she gently squeezed Sonata’s ponytail, “Oooh! That’s it, sweetie!”

While her tongue explored her entrance, Sonata used her fingers to tug and toy with her nub. She looked up toward Adagio, meeting her gaze and humming to emit vibrations. Adagio moaned sharply, throwing her head back and squeezing Sonata’s head against her sex.

“AH! Yes, that’s it! Mommy’s almost there, sweetie!” she moaned.

Eager, Sonata worked her harder, faster! She did all she could, licking and suckling along her sweet spot. Soon enough, Adagio clutched tightly to her head as she let out a shrill scream and climaxed, her juices flowing freely out over Sonata’s mouth as she rocked her hips and rode out her orgasm.

Pulling her mouth back, Sonata lapped up every bit of her juices that she could. She cooed in contentment, tasting the sweetness of Adagio’s juices, “Oh Mommy… you’re still so delicious…”

Adagio smiled as she hooked her hands underneath Sonata’s arms and hurled her back onto her bed. Climbing over her and straddling her, she grinned and began to undo Sonata’s jacket, “Thank you, sweetheart.”

“You’re welcome, Mommy…” Sonata giggled, nuzzling her.

Adagio smiled and kissed her forehead as she pulled Sonata’s jacket off, “Mommy’s not done with you yet, though…”

Adagio and Sunset both lay on either side of Sonata, cuddling her close between them as they basked in the afterglow of their threesome.

“Mommy missed this so much…” Adagio smiled, nuzzling Sonata’s cheek.

“Me too…” Sonata cooed, giggling happily.

“I did, too…” Sunset sighed happily, kissing Adagio’s shoulder, “Nothing beats Make Up Sex…”

“Nope,” Adagio grinned as she cuddled the two of them closer, “Nothing. It’s always the best.”

“Yay, Make Up Sex!” Sonata giggled happily, “Never really had it before… Not like this, anyway.”

Adagio kissed her cheek and nuzzled Sonata’s hair, “Now, you’re not done making up yet, sweetie. For two weeks, you’re not allowed to wear clothes in the apartment. And Mommy gets to touch you as much as she likes,” she giggled, nuzzling her hair.

“Oooh!” Sonata giggled, grinning, “I-I mean, uh… awww, but Mommy, that’s sooo unfair!” She said this while giggling.

“Too bad, Sonata,” Sunset snickered, “You have to make up for it and that’s what your sentence is.”

Adagio giggled, kissing Sonata’s cheek, “Good, I hope Mommy’s girl is going to take her punishment like a big girl.”

“I will, Mommy,” Sonata kissed her cheek back and smiled, “I promise.”

“Good girl,” Adagio purred, kissing her cheek, “And in the meantime, I’m going to think of more creative punishments for you,” she whispered into her ear.

“Ooh… Sounds good to me,” Sonata giggled, nuzzling her, “I’ll do anything.”

“Oh? Anything?” Adagio raised an eyebrow.

Sonata nodded, smiling more, “Of course, Mommy.”

“So if I decided you were going to work naked at the bar with Sunny?” Adagio suggested.

“I’d do it,” Sonata nodded with a grin.

“And if I decided you were going to provide a new… service to the patrons?” Adagio suggested with a smirk.

“What’s that?” Sonata asked, tilting her head.

“Yeah, I’m curious, too. Especially if I’m overseeing all that,” Sunset chuckled.

“I’m kidding of course, I’d never make you do that, but I was talking about prostitution,” Adagio giggled.

“Oh! Oh…” Sonata giggled, nuzzling her, “Yeah, even I’d have to draw the line. But that whole naked at the bar thing, I can do it!”

“Good girl,” Adagio giggled, kissing Sonata’s cheek, “I’ll think of some more later.”

“Okay, Mommy,” Sonata nuzzled her hair happily, giggling.

“One down, one to go…” Sunset murmured.

“Aria needs more time to cool off,” Adagio asserted, patting Sunset’s thigh.

“I know,” Sunset nuzzled her, “We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.”

“I hope so,” Sonata murmured with a sigh, “I miss her…”

“Me too…” Adagio nuzzled Sonata’s cheek as she sat up, “Okay, who wants supper?”

Sonata raised her hand, “Me!”

“I sure do,” Sunset nodded.

“Alright, lets get something in your bellies,” Adagio smiled, “Sona, you’re still so skinny!”

Sonata blushed and giggled, nuzzling noses with her, “Might need to fatten me up a bit, Mommy!”

“Oh yes I do!” Adagio giggled, “You must be so hungry!”

“I am… and I haven’t touched tacos in weeks!” Sonata pouted, “I’m soooo deprived!”

“Then that’s what we’re gonna have for supper, sweetheart,” Adagio purred, kissing the top of her head.

“Really? Yaaaaay! Thank you, Mommy!” Sonata beamed, hugging her tightly.

“Awesome, tacos sound good,” Sunset grinned.

“Alright, let Mommy just put her pants back on,” Adagio giggled as she pulled her jeans on, “Oooh, I think Mommy needs to lose some weight.”

Sonata sat up, tilting her head, “Oh dear! I noticed you gained a little weight around the bum, but I didn’t want to say anything…”

Adagio reached down and squeezed her own rear, “Hmm… yeah, I think Mommy needs to buy a treadmill.”

“Good idea,” Sunset got up, proceeding to dress as well, “I used to have a stationary bike at my old place.”

“What happened to it?” Sonata asked, getting up to dress too.

Sunset pouted, “The movers accidentally broke it when they were lugging it out of my apartment.”

“Bike wouldn’t do enough. Need to be up and moving,” Adagio shrugged, “Mommy’ll pick one up when she goes into Canterlot tomorrow.”

“Ooh! Are you going to put on a jogging suit and strap on your music player to your arm while you run?” Sonata proceeded to jog on the spot, which made Sunset giggle.

Adagio chuckled, “I think I can just turn on the stereo,” she smiled as she buttoned up her jeans.

“Then we’ll go jogging!” Sonata said eagerly, bouncing now.

“Well, if you’re going to go jogging, you can count me in,” Sunset grinned, “It’s been a while since I’ve been.”

“That sounds wonderful,” Adagio smiled, patting them both on the rear as they exited the bedroom.

Sunset cast her gaze to the couch as they came out, seeing that Aria was napping there. She then stirred, sitting up and rubbing her eyes, mumbling to herself.

“Hey,” Sunset went over to her, peering over the couch, “How are you feeling?”

“Tired, thanks for waking me up,” Aria grumbled as she yawned.

Sunset rolled her eyes good-naturedly, “Sure thing, Sleeping Beauty. We’re making tacos for dinner, you hungry?”

“Yeah, sure…” Aria grumbled.

“Hey… cheer up, you little sour puss,” Sunset chuckled, ruffling her hair, “Come on, come help me set the table.”

Aria grumbled and stood up, “Fine…”

Sunset led the way to the table, to which they proceeded to set it up for dinner. On a normal night, it was down to the necessary basics. Special occasions had them bringing out nicer dishes and fancy napkins, and even using wine glasses. As much as Sunset was tempted, she figured that they wait until a better night. But for now, she replaced the usual glasses with wine glasses, as some kind of token of things moving forward.

“How’re you feeling, Ari?” Adagio asked as she set the pan onto the stove.

“...Kinda meh,” Aria admitted, giving a small yawn.

“Would some dinner in your belly make you feel better?” she asked with a smile.

Aria looked toward her, losing some of her frown, and even relaxing her shoulders. “...Yeah. Haven’t had tacos in ages, either.”

“Then I guess you’ll be in for a treat, too,” Sunset gave a relieved smile.

“Good, sit down, it’ll be ready in a bit,” Adagio smiled brightly.

Aria gave a small nod, sitting herself down in her usual place. As Sunset set down the last utensil, she sat down as well. She could see at least a small change in Aria’s countenance, to which she looked a little less bitter and even less angry. It wasn’t a huge turn, but it was a start.

“Hope you guys are going to save room for dessert. I picked up some cupcakes from that new bakery in town,” Sunset announced, “I even tried one of them. They’re amazing!”

“Oh, you did?” Adagio asked, turning back, “I wish you’d told me, I got a cake from that paraphernalia shop out in Canterlot.”

“I was going to, it slipped my mind, and then we were busy,” Sunset chuckled, “Sounds delicious, though.”

“It’s alright, I can put it in the fridge,” Adagio smiled, “Store owner was yummy, though.”

“Oh! I know what shop you mean, I’ve been there a couple times,” Sunset said thoughtfully.

“Mmhmm!” Adagio giggled, setting the taco ingredients into separate bowls, “Lovely lady at the counter.”

“She really was a lovely lady,” Sunset agreed with a giggle, “I heard almost anyone who meets her gets a crush on her.”

“I’ll bet,” Adagio chuckled, “I know I sure wanted to take her out back and strip her down.”

“I bet she would’ve let you,” Sunset winked.

“Oh I’ll bet,” Adagio giggled, setting the bowls on the table as she sat back down.

Sonata joined them at the table, suddenly growing quiet again as she sat down. She’d been assisting in the kitchen while Adagio cooked, anything to avoid making direct contact with Aria for the moment. Now as she sat down, she dared take a peek, seeing that the girl in question wasn’t even looking at anyone, instead fiddling with her fork along the table.

Looking among the table as they all served themselves, Sunset looked at Aria for a brief moment, considering. She then decided against it, at least for now.

“So,” Sunset spoke up, “I was given this new vodka today, by this connoisseur from Canterlot.”

“Oh?” Adagio asked with a smile, “Looking to make some new business is he?”

Sunset nodded, “Yeah, he was. So he gave me a sample to try, to see if we would want to sell some here. I wanted to run it by you first, before making a decision about that.”

“Well let me take a look at it later,” Adagio smiled, “More liquor for the patrons is always a plus.”

“Of course, he gave me a small bottle, but there’d be enough for all of us to try,” Sunset smiled.

“Okay… I can try a small sip,” Sonata said softly.

“Meh. I don’t even like vodka much, but I’ll try it,” Aria said with an indifferent shrug.

“Well that’s all four tastebuds,” Adagio chuckled, “As long as it doesn’t taste like shit, I don’t see any reason not to stock it.”

“I didn’t try it, but I did smell it. It smells very… sweet and tangy,” Sunset recalled, “He said they’re great for margaritas.”

“Oooh, there’s an idea,” Adagio smiled as she leaned over and kissed Sunset’s cheek, “Mommy does love her margaritas.”

“Me too… It was my first drink, actually,” Sonata smiled.

“What about you, Sunny? What was your first drink?” Adagio asked with a giggle.

Sunset thought for a few moments, tapping her chin, “I think it was… an Appletini Starburst Swirl.”

“Goodness, who on earth fed you that?” Adagio giggled.

“A mixologist working in the nightclub I was working in at the time,” Sunset giggled, “It was a mix of an Appletini with a Melon Starburst. The swirl comes from the dollop of whipped cream at the top.”

“This wouldn’t happen to be that same nightclub with the vile manager, would it?” Adagio asked, raising an eyebrow.

“Sadly, yes,” Sunset pouted, “The staff was great, but the manager was an asscrack.”

“Aw,” Adagio pouted, leaning in and kissing her cheek, “He never did anything to you, did he?”

“No, but he tried,” Sunset shook her head, “Grabbing or slapping my ass, making catcalls, all that stupid nonsense. Didn’t go beyond that, thankfully.”

Adagio wrapped an arm around her shoulders and nuzzled her, “Poor Sunny. Nobody grabs your ass but me… and Twilight.”

“You got it,” Sunset nuzzled her, giggling.

Adagio kissed Sunset’s cheek as she pulled away and started on her dinner, “What about you, Ari? What have you done all day?”

“I built some working traps and doodads with Redstone, leveled my warrior, acquired a new lightsaber, and I rescued Zelda,” Aria said dryly with a shrug.

“So you’ve been playing video games all day,” Adagio frowned.

“Yeah. Kinda lost track of the time,” Aria replied.

“Alright, just so long as you don’t make a habit out of it,” Adagio nodded, leaning over and kissing her cheek.

“I’m trying not to, Ma. But I don’t know, guess it’s all I feel like doing,” Aria sighed, poking at her taco with her fork.

“Aria, I know playing video games is fun, but… I couldn’t help but notice that you don’t do much else unless we ask you,” Sunset said softly.

“Sunset, don’t,” Adagio said softly, “She said she was going to cut back on it and I trust her.”

“Nah, it’s okay, Ma,” Aria waved it off, “She’s kinda right, anyway.”

“Still, I’m sorry,” Sunset murmured, shaking her head.

Adagio kissed the both of them on the cheek and returned to her dinner, “It’s alright.”

Sunset nodded, turning to Sonata, “And how was your day?”

“...Fine,” Sonata said softly, “I ran the errands Mommy asked me to do and I worked on my puzzle.”

“And then we made up,” Adagio smiled, leaning over and kissing her cheek.

This made Aria look up with surprise, “Wait, what?”

“...You didn’t hear anything?” Sunset looked at her with a tilted head.

“...No, I was… I think was sleeping,” Aria said, “But seriously, really?”

Adagio nodded, “Yes, me and Sona made up. And then me, Sona and Sunny had a threeway.”

“...And I’m apparently chopped liver,” Aria looked downward with a frown.

“Aw, I’m sorry, Ari,” Adagio leaned in and kissed her cheek, “You want Mommy to play with your bum later?”

“...Yes,” Aria admitted, her voice softer, “I’ve missed all that.”

“After supper then, okay?” Adagio wrapped an arm around her and pulled her closer.

Aria gave a nod, snuggling against her, “Sure…”

“There’s my girl,” Adagio hugged Aria tightly to her as she continued eating, “...Mommy missed all of you.”

“Me too,” Sunset smiled with relief.

“Wait,” Aria pulled back slightly, “There’s something else. Look, I … haven’t really been all that nice lately. And I’m sorry. Especially since I… took it out on Sonata. Sure, she kinda deserved it and all, what with everything she-”

“Aria, don’t,” Sunset cut her off, “Enough of that.”

“...Right, sorry,” Aria sighed heavily, “Maybe at first, but I just got really mean. And I don’t even really know what I’m mad about anymore. I’m… I’m sorry, Sonata. You know I love you, right?”

Sonata, who had shrunk down in her seat, nodded slowly.

“And I said some nasty things, and I’m really sorry. I guess… it was also because I didn’t want to lose you again. When you threatened to run away, I was… I was scared. I didn’t…” She sniffled slightly, “...Want to end up reading ‘Sonata Dusk’s Body Found Dead In Ditch’...”

Sonata quivered and lifted her head, “...Does this mean I can have a hug?”

Aria sniffled, wiping her eyes. She looked at Sonata, before all but getting out of her chair and holding out her arms, “Oh, get over here, you!”

Sonata got up and rushed over to her, burying her face into Aria’s neck as she threw her arms around her, sniffling and shaking in her arms. Aria held her tightly, beginning to sniffle and sob herself. They eventually sank to the floor, clutching at each other tightly.

Bringing a hand over her mouth, Sunset resisted the urge to burst into giggles and squees. She instead opted to reach over and squeeze Adagio’s hand. Adagio squeezed back and looked up at her, smiling as she sidled closer and kissed Sunset’s forehead.

“I’m glad they made up…” Sunset whispered quietly, kissing her cheek.

“Me too,” Adagio whispered back, “I hate it when our babies are fighting.”

“It’s no fun… I knew they’d make up eventually, I was just hoping it’d be soon,” Sunset murmured, glancing back at the two. Her eyes went wide slightly as she saw they’d taken up to kissing, “Ooh… a little make up kissing, that’s cute.”

Adagio smiled brightly and cuddled Sunset under her arm, “It is,” she nuzzled Sunset’s hair and squeezed tightly, “I love you, Sunset.”

“I love you too, Mom,” Sunset smiled brightly, nuzzling her back.

“Goodness, if we ever have actual children, that’s going to be confusing for them,” Adagio giggled.

Sunset snickered, trying not to laugh too loud, “Oh my god… Can you even imagine? This would be the craziest family.”

“It’s already crazy,” Adagio giggled, kissing along Sunset’s jawline.

“And would just get crazier,” Sunset giggled, nuzzling her hair.

“Mmhmm,” Adagio smiled as they watched Sonata and Aria, who had laid out on the floor and were tenderly kissing.

“Awww…” Sunset whispered, “They’re so sweet.”

“They are,” Adagio nodded, “Why don’t you give them your room tonight and you’ll come share with me.”

“Sure, I can do that,” Sunset winked, “They need a little alone time, anyway.”

“Mmhmm,” Adagio nodded as they cuddled together, watching Aria and Sonata kissing on the floor. Next Chapter: Tell That To Entropy Estimated time remaining: 1 Hour, 40 Minutes
