A Silver Journey
Chapter 1: A new home
It was a beautiful afternoon. Celestias sun shined strong in the sky as usual and no clouds could be seen for miles. And Silver Cola hated it. The small earth pony had underestimated how long the trip was and had walked with his small cart since 9 am, only stopping for water pauses. His dark greenblue coat and his black mane and tail made the sun even worse. He was really hungry, but he also new that his destination was just over the hill. When he reached the top he paused to take a breath and looked over the small town called Ponyville.
"Wow. The pictures made it look beautiful but this..." He thought to himself. He couldn't help but be amazed over the beauty the little town held, his silver eyes going from building to building.
He started to walk towards the village trying to get his priorities straight "First, I need some real food. I can't take the dry hay anymore." He took a glance back at his cart and saw the dry hay he had bought for the trip lying next to the tent his father gave him. When he reached the town he asked the first pony he saw where the marketplace was, and walk straight in the direction the pony showed him after he gave her his thanks.
The market place was very empty and a few stand looked like they had already closed. He saw a stance that was selling some of the best looking apples he had ever seen. He walked over to the stance and knocked on it to get the attention of the seller, who seemed to be fixing something under it. When she stood up Silver took a good look at mare. She had an warm orange coat and her mane and tail was blond. She was wearing a cowboy hat and her eyes were emerald green,
"Well, howdy there partner. What can Ah get for ya?" she asked giving Silver a welcoming smile.
"Five Red Delicious, please!" answered Silver, looking like he was going to attack the apples if he didn't get them soon.
She chuckled a little. "Hold ye horses, five Red Delicious coming right up." She barley had time to put the apples before Silver threw down some bits on the counter and started to dig in.
"Seems to me like y'all were mighty hungry. Haven't you been eatin' nothin' today?"
Silver finished the apple and turned his full attention to the mare with a big, satisfied smile on his face. "Only breakfast. I have been walking all day and I only just arrived. I had dry hay with me, but eat nothing but that for a week and you go crazy. At least I have some real food now."
"Ah thought y'all looked unfamiliar. You just passin' through?"
"No, I'm just moving here."
She gave another big smile. "Well then, let me be the first to welcome you to our small town here! Ah'm Applejack!" She reached out a hoof to Silver, who took it in his own.
"Thanks, I'm Silver Cola, but just call me Silver. It's easier that way." They shook hoofs and Silver could feel the mares strength from the shake.
"Do y'all have a home yet?" She asked when they let go of each others hoofs.
"Yeah, I was gonna go and get the key at the mayors office after I was done here."
"Well, don't let me keep ya. If you need any help, just ask me."
"I will. Thanks again for the apples." Silver walked a few meters before he stopped and turned around with a small blush "Um... Applejack? Where is the mayors office? he asked with sheepish grin.
She gave him directions and after he had thanked her again he started to move. "Oh shoot, one more thing." Silver turned his head to Applejack. "If ya see a pink pony actin' weird when she sees you, think nothin' of it." Silver was confused over what she could mean but simply shrugged and moved on.
Silver was in a good mood. Not only was he finally in Ponyville, but he had just eaten the best apple ever and he had already met somepony friendly. "If everypony in this town are this nice, it wont take long before I have a few friends." He did indeed met the pinkie pony Applejack warned him about, but she just ran away so Silver followed her advice and didn't think about it.
He went to the mayors office and got the key and deed. He payed for it and told him were the house was. He reached it soon and stopped outside. No garden, just a very small and cheap building. "Just the way like it." He thought to himself. "It's even next to the post office." He smiled to himself before he parked his cart and walked up to the door. He unlocked it and walked in. It was completely dark but he walked in hoping he could some way to turn on the light.
"SURPRISE!!!"
Suddenly the lights turned on and maybe 20 ponies jumped out from different hiding spots. Silver could see balloons and streamers decorated over the place and a table full with snacks and a big cake on it. He saw many different ponies, one who he recognize as the mare he met before, Applejack.
But the one thing his attention stayed on was the pink pony who he saw running away earlier, who now was jumping around him and taking faster then his shocked mind could keep up with.
"Hi I'm Pinkie Pie, you must be Silver Cola, Applejack told us all about you, well she told us everything she knew and she only knew your name, but now your here so know we can get to know you and be your friends. I threw this surprise party for you to welcome you to Ponyville and, oh oh that reminds me were you surprised? Were you? Were you? You look surprised I think you were. Do you like it? She gave Silver the biggest grin he had ever seen.
Silver calmed down a little but could only let out a simple "Wha...?"
Pinkie giggled a little before she repeated herself. "Do you like the party, silly?"
He looked around again. "I..I love it, but..."
"But what?" Pinkie looked at Silver with a cute pout.
"But why?" Pinkie gave another big grin. "To welcome you here of course!"
Silver stared at Pinkie for a few seconds. Then he smile. "Thank you, thank you all. Doing all this for a complete stranger. How can I ever repay you?"
"Well duh. By having fun of course. She put her hoof on Silvers back and pushed him into the room and then shut the door closed. "Now, lets PARTY!!"
