I chose this specifically because the reunion of Sunset and Twilight is supposed to be sweet, but Celestia looks upon it with dread and so this song will sound a bit odd at times. Just think of it as Celestia's presence as she thinks of what's to come.

Twilight and Celestia stood before the mirror and sighed. Twilight was eager to leave the place she was behind and enter the other world. Celestia could see this and felt a twinge of guilt.

I'm sorry, Twilight...

The princess looked back at the Main 5, who seemed a bit spooked by Twilight's eagerness. She smiled at them reassuringly.

"I leave you girls in charge of Twilight's position as princess of Friendship. My little sister will be here to raise the sun and moon while I'm gone and take care of my duties. We won't be gone long. We just have to make sure everything is in order."

The ponies nodded sweetly and smiled back.

"See you, Twilight," Fluttershy whispered.

The mare nodded back and faced the portal ready to jump through at Celestia's go.

The ruler of Equestria looked to the portal and frowned. It will be hard to see how this all will turn out. She was glad for the life Sunset had made for herself, even if it did come in a way that surprised her. She didn't want to end it because of this mess...Straightening neck and standing tall she sighed.

"Come on, Twilight. Time we go."

The girl gladly shot through the portal and Celestia followed her, scared of what may occur.

Walking toward her home, Sunset thought of Twilight. She had been gone, really, only for two days. But it felt like forever. She missed her to the point that she would do anything to see her again. Just waiting was painful. She sighed as she walked home alone. The sky was a soft orange and was full of cotton candy clouds the color pink. Small song birds chirped as they flew around her to their homes. A slight breeze came and ruffled her hair.

It was just like that afternoon that started it all.

So beautiful was the sky and wonderful was the feeling of the small breeze...Only, instead of her hating Twilight, she loved her. She thought of the sky's depiction of her fall and Twilight's rise a sweet thing. Twilight was there, whether or not she could see her or touch her. She was there after the sunset died away and the sad color of night set in. When all seemed to hard to bare, Twilight's star shined as a beacon of hope in a world so dark.

No longer did it upset her to watch the sunset. It was always a pleasure to wait for her star to shine above her. Sunset looked up and smiled. The soft orange deepened into a red now. The breeze swirled around her and brought the smell of fall...

Fall.

August Fall.

Memories of her mother came back to her as she watched the sky's colors fade. August had always enjoyed walking at this time of year with her when she was a filly. Her mother would talk to her about how the leaves danced around them, twirling with excitement. Like ballerinas leaping around joyfully...Her father, Solar Flare, would give her a ride and run through the mounds of leaves to make them fly in the enchanting dance her mother found so nice.

They'd laugh as the breeze made them flutter gently in the air.

You're Shimmering, my darling.

Words she could not forget coming from her father as they laughed in the Autumn breeze without a care in the world.

"Shimmering," Sunset whispered.

"Shimmering indeed," a soft voice said behind her.

The girl turned around and saw Twilight, smiling at her. Her hair flowed in the wind. The glow of the sun's rays softened her face. Twilight, being the cool shade of night, looked unreal in the rays of light that came from the setting sun. Sunset stood there without saying a word. Was she really here? Was Twilight before her?

It was when Twilight stepped forward and brushed her cheek with her thumb that she realized she was real. She also realized she was crying, too. Sunset grabbed her by the waist and pressed her lips against Twilight's. A warm feeling ran through her as she kissed the girl. Celestia stood by a tree, reminded of the night she first came to that world.

It was beautiful how they came together in such harmony. It was a time where it wasn't quite day and wasn't quite night. A time where two different entities came together in a way that was so nice. So wonderful. Much so like Twilight and Sunset as they held one another in a passionate kiss. It was such a scene. So emotional and gorgeous...

Celestia felt a pit in her stomach. This love of theirs would have to end soon. Sunset wasn't the monster she would become. But in due time she will evolve. Sunset stood strong with her arms around Twilight. A reflection of those with strength and courage. A symbol of bravery touched with the feminine features of a woman. It was odd how she looked so mighty yet soft.

Twilight was small and gentle compared to her companion. The way her leg lifted slightly as she leaned in to kiss Sunset and how her hands rested on the girl's shoulders made her look all the more frail and kind. A sweet touch to compliment Sunset's femininity. Celestia couldn't think of a pair that was so different but fit so well.

The sun and the moon they were. Like water and fire. A similar comparison to yin and yang or the phoenix and dragon; forever together in a bond that could never be broken.

Twilight and Sunset were smiling at each other now. Their noses pressed against the other's and foreheads touching. Sunset held a locket between two fingers and rubbed it gently with her thumb. Celestia was struck with the remembrance of her parents. Her parents had gotten together in a similar way. Celestia remembered it bright as day the day Solar proposed to August. It was under an oak tree in a fall like this one. He was so certain he'd get her hoof in marriage.

It was in his eyes. August had cried and kissed the stallion. After that they were lost in each other's eyes. Celestia had watched it happen from a distance. Solar was a close friend of hers. He, in fact was the captain of her Royal Guard before Shining Armor.

So many memories.

So many beautiful things.

Yet there was one curse that tainted it all.

She wanted them to savior this moment before the worst was to come. It was the best she could do for them. The best she could.

*Author's Note: I REALLY WANT SOMEONE TO DRAW THIS SCENE SO BADLY! IT'S JUST SO NICE! I DON'T TRUST MYSELF TO DO IT BECAUSE I KNOW I'LL JACK IT UP. SO BEAUTIFUL THIS CHAPTER...
