Putting the Change in Changeling (Mature)
Chapter 7: Day 5
Previous Chapter>You wake up the next morning.
>You give a quiet, adorable yawn as to sit up.
>Your mind is a tad blank from last night, so you had forgotten that you slept in Chrysalis' room.
>The fluffy blanket and the large figure next to you tipped you off, though.
>You move the blankets some to inspect yourself.
>Wet... Again. But by now, you're already used to it.
>You had a dream about Luna last night... Almost like she was searching for you.
>But your mind kept feeling fuzzy... You shrugged it off as your subconscious trying to mess with you.
>Chrysalis stirs next to you, rolling over toward you quietly.
>"Good morning, little Annie. Sleep well?"
>You nod slightly.
>Chrysalis giggles some before giving you a light raspberry on your exposed stomach.
>You didn't even notice that your onesie was off... But you coat's color certainly did get much darker.
>"Did little Annie have a bad dream?"
>You go to respond, but stop before saying anything.
"How did you know?"
>She gives off another soft giggle.
>"You tossed and turned a lot. Common for little ones with nightmares."
"...Oh."
>You look down at the blankets quietly before yawning again.
>Chrysalis stretches before picking you up and going through your morning routine.
>Changing, playing, feeding. That's how it went now.
>Still, you enjoyed the time you two had together.
>Chrysalis took you out of the room and sat you on your little princess throne.
>It even had your name written on it.
>You tilted your head back to try and read it...
>But silly you, you're reading it upside down!
>Chrysalis takes her own seat and watches as you struggle to read your own upside down name.
>"It says Annie. I had it done just for you."
>She gently pats your head, which entices a giggle from you.
"Oh, right. Silly me."
>You give the widest smile as you drink away from your bottle.
>Chrysalis gave her usual morning speech.
>You idly sat there and looked around at the crowd.
>They all seemed so ecstatic and energetic today...
>Was this your doing? Did you have the power to do this?
>You looked up at Chrysalis.
>Even she radiated with energy.
>Before, when you first came here, she seemed to snarl and be more threatening when she gave her speeches.
>But today, she seemed lively and happy.
>Just the thought of that made you smile brightly.
>Some of the Changelings in the front row couldn't help but point at you and smile.
>Chrysalis finished her speech and waved the crowd off.
>The majority of them dispersed, some of them going outside and some staying inside.
>You wondered what she meant by "scouting."
>Sighing softly, Chrysalis looks over at you.
>"Now that the speech is out of the way... How about we do something fun, Annie?"
>She holds you in the air with her magic and extends your new wings.
>Wait, wings? When did they...?
>You remember feeling something off on your back this morning, but didn't expect it to be wings.
>You look a bit surprised.
"What do you have in mind, mommy?"
>The Queen gives you a sly grin.
>"Potty training?"
>Your eyes widen and jaw drops open.
"No! I don't wanna! Lemme go..!"
>You struggled and struggled, but couldn't break free of the magical grip.
>Chrysalis merely chuckles and nuzzles you.
>"I'm just kidding. How about we teach you to fly?"
>Flying... One thing you were never able to do.
>That, and magic.
>Still, you nodded.
"O-okay.."
>Chrysalis carries you out to the open field you saw earlier in the week.
>It was much prettier in person.
>She sets you down.
>"I'm sure you've seen us... And Pegasi flying, no?"
"Yeah, tons of times."
>"Well, it isn't as easy as it seems, little Annie."
>You stand up a bit shakily, but attempt to balance yourself.
>Chrysalis flutters her wings a bit.
>"Try moving your wings some. See if you can control them."
>You look back at one and concentrate.
>You keep trying and trying...
>BLORT.
>Your face scrunches up a bit.
"I uh..."
>You look about ready to cry from embarrassment.
>Chrysalis clicked her tongue and sat down in front of you.
>"Aww... What's the matter, Annie? Had an accident?"
>Out of instinct, you waddled to her and hugged her tightly with your tiny foal hooves.
"Uh huh..."
>Chrysalis smiled warmly and stroked your mane.
>"It's alright little princess. Things happen. You just..."
>She paused to chuckle some at the thought.
>"You just need to get used to controlling your new body, is all."
>You look up at her, tears still flowing a bit.
"...Really?"
>She nods and kisses your forehead.
>"Really. Why don't we give it another go?"
>You nod a bit.
>All that afternoon, the two of you kept practicing wing control and flight.
>You weren't exactly good at it... But you eventually figured out how to flutter your wings.
>Chrysalis seemed very pleased that you learned so fast.
"Look, mommy! I can do it too!"
>You run around her, flapping your wings some.
>You pretended that you were an airplane.
>Chysalis giggled some.
>"Careful now, or you might fly away!"
>She flapped her own wings, floating off the ground some.
>You stopped and looked at her as she idly flew around.
"Woooow.. I wish I could do that..."
>You looked down at the ground, sulking a bit.
>Chrysalis stopped in front of you, landing on the grass softly.
>"You will hun.. It just takes a lot of practice, is all."
>She picks you up gently and holds you in her hooves.
"You're just saying that. I bet you did it on the first try!"
>The comment made her laugh some.
>"Actually, no! I took me weeks before I could fly! I was the worst of my generation, even with a private instructor!"
>You looked at her quietly as she went on.
>"I had such a hard time trying to fly that I almost gave up. Even my mother was worried that I wouldn't be able to do it."
>She looked out at the setting sun.
>You followed her gaze and marveled at the sight.
>Chrysalis grew silent as she went into deep thought.
>You two simply shared the moment for the time being. You felt really connected with her.
