3. Pink Problems

Being in a place so friendly, so happy, so… bizarre, there’s always going to be one crazy person.  Someone who’s gone completely over the top. Someone who been driven down the wrong path out of many extreme emotions. They’ll be happy and nice, they’d fear to put a hoof out of line on any other day, but one day, they’ll snap. Just like that. Do you know who the worst culprits are?

Passive types. The people who keep to themselves. As I’ve been told, ‘there isn’t any crazy, like real repressed crazy.  To be honest, I’m one of them. It’s only the fact that I haven’t snapped yet (or at least, not fully snapped) that I couldn’t believe how scared I was, seeing someone look over the edge.

The problem with this place. I have a feeling that there’s more than just one.

...   ...   ...   ...   ...

I was gone. I was out of danger. She’d snapped and I had known it. There wasn’t anything that could convince me any other way. I decided to walk into town. Hopefully, someone could put me up for the night or at least, give me some food.  Someone in this place had to be easy enough to ask. Then I realised my mistake. I’m still an animal. I can’t talk to them. Annoyed at both me and my brain, I walked into the way of a bouncing, hyper mare. Considering she was luminescent pink, it wasn’t a surprise how childish she came across.

‘Oh, silly me. I’m sorry, actually I’m Pinkie Pie. Cupcake?’ she asked, holding out a hoof with a cupcake placed on top.

Trying to smile as an animal is probably as hard as touching your nose with your tongue. It’s near impossible.

‘Awww… Are you trying to smile? I like smiling, but I prefer smiling when I’m happy. Oh, I’m happy now. I’m going to smile too.’ She chuckled as she grinned. She was actually worrying me. I sat, thinking how she could be so happy.

‘Hee, Hee. That was fun. Do you wanna come with me to Sugar Cube Corner? We can eat cupcakes, and we can play with the foals, and we can eat some cupcakes… Oh, I’d already said that, hadn’t I? Oopsy.’ She giggled, not walking but bouncing off into a shop to our left. I quickly had decided to follow her because for some reason or other, I just seemed to instantly trust her. I entered the shop and was instantly hit with a pillow, knocking me backwards.

‘Oh, I’m sorry; Pumpkin can really throw ‘em. Don’t worry, she can’t throw much else.’ The calamine pink pony was sincere so I continued as usual. At least until a foal fell out of nowhere to land on my back. It’d completely winded me so I lay on the floor panting whilst the foal bit my tail. ‘No! Bad Pound Cake. Stop biting the poor thing.’ He only had gums so it wasn’t too bad. But having been half killed, I wanted to just leave. But because the mare had later asked if I wanted to stay, I decided to stay so I could rest. There’s nothing like a good night rest. But before I was asleep, I overheard Pinkie speaking with somepony.

‘Hiya, Dashie. Why are you here? Oh, let me guess… You want a midnight snack, I know I do.’

‘No Pinkie, it’s about an animal that’s been sighted near here. Fluttershy’s looking for it. She seemed really upset and kept saying she wanted to apologise to it.’

‘I know exactly where it is.’

‘You do?’

‘Yeah. It’s in my room. It got beat up by the twins so it’s resting. I better go and get it.’

By that time, I was out of there. I wasn’t going to go back to Fluttershy.  She’d scared me half to death and I didn’t need her to finish me off. I ran round the back and past a cyan pony standing at the door.

‘Hey, wait up.’ She shouted. She darted into the air and tried to catch me. I weaved in and out between houses. I knew this could end bad but to die at the hooves of an easily-scared, crazy pony seemed to be my destiny. Even if I didn’t get caught by the unusual flying pony that was leaving a rainbow behind her. Hang on, a rainbow…
