Chapter 1: Twilight Helps Sunset Get Over Her Frustrations

Twilight Helps Sunset Get Over Her Frustrations

Twilight stared at Sunset as the class laughed. She had wondered why the girl had fallen asleep in the first place. Was she not getting enough sleep? That would explain why she was always being a klutz now.

But she wondered...why was she only like that around Twilight? She remembered that was something that would happen when Cadence came around Shining Armour. He just went dumb.

Unless....Nah! That's ridiculous! Sunset didn't have a crush on her! She hated her!

Or did she?

The way Sunset looked at her sometimes...she looked like there was a storm raging on inside her. Like she wanted to say something, but couldn't. Most of the time when they crossed paths, Sunset's face was twisted into a scowl.

But there were these rare times where Sunset didn't think Twilight was looking. Those few rare moments, Sunset looked at her like she was ready to pounce on her with everything she had. Twilight had to admit, it lit a fire in the pit of her stomach to be looked at that way.

Twilight never really had a crush on anyone before, she had been too focused on her studies for that, and even now was too busy saving the world time and time again to really look at anyone but her friends.

Of course, she thought Flash was a handsome fellow. He was tall, dreamy, and a sweet guy, but Twilight soon realized he was just too safe for her taste. Sunset was like her in a sense, the anti her, really. Sunset was a badass, the alpha dog. Twilight couldn't help but be attracted to her.Though she never thought Sunset felt the same way. (For the most part.)

As the teacher droned on with the lesson, Twilight watched the older girl intently. She bit her lip, wondering if she should go over to her.

The lab tables were big enough to fit two people, but because Sunset was well, Sunset, no one dared to sit next to her.

Until today.

While the teacher had his back turned, Twilight made a beeline for the seat next to Sunset, nearly slamming into the table as she did.

The other girl jumped as she felt a gust of wind whoosh past her. She turned to see where it had came from and became bug eyed when she saw who it was. Sunset sneered at Twilight. "What are you doing, Sparky?"

Sparky. Huh. She had a nickname for her now? That was interesting considering Sunset was supposed to hate her. But it had a nice ring to it.

"What? I can't sit next to you?" Twilight asked, pretending to be hurt. She watched as Sunset made a fist and gritted her teeth.

“No, you can’t,” Sunset told her through her teeth. “If you want to live and continue to breathe, you’ll go back to your own seat.” She hissed at her. Twilight could tell she was trying with all her strength not to hit her. Which was good. It probably meant that Sunset’s opinion of her had changed for the better. That, or she was waiting until after class to really let her know how she felt.

“Is that a threat?” Twilight asked with a raised brow.

“Of course it is you little sh-”

“Is there a problem, Miss Shimmer?” The teacher asked before Sunset could finish her sentence. The whole room went silent in waiting for her answer.

“No sir. Not at all.” Sunset grumbled. She turned away from Twilight so that she was facing the window.

Twilight blinked. She would have thought for sure Sunset was going to have some wise crack come back. She always talked back to the teachers. But for her to just let it go, and for her to call a teacher ‘sir’...was bizarre. It must have seemed weird to the other kids in class too because they started talking in hushed whispers. She heard things like ‘she’s going soft’ and ‘she’s losing it’.

And by the way Sunset was silently shaking in anger, Twilight could tell the comments were getting to her. She chose not to say anything though, seeing how she was already furious.

When the bell rang, Sunset packed up her  things without a word and stomped out the door. Of course Twilight followed her, but at a distance. It wasn’t until they were at her locker at the end of the hallway did she say anything to her. Or rather, Sunset said something to her.

“What?!” Sunset barked, turning around to face her.

“I just wanted to see if you were okay.” Twilight told her. “You’ve been acting weird lately and I wanted to help.”

Sunset snorted. “Yeah, believe me Sparkle, the last thing I need right now is your friggin’ help,” She responded coldly, slamming her locker shut. “And besides, why would you want to help me? I have your crown remember? We’re enemies. And that’s all we’ll ever be.” She stared at Twilight for a moment before she pushed past the younger girl and started back down the hall.

Twilight sensed some kind of disappointment in the end of her sentence. “Hey! Wait!” She called after Sunset, running to catch up to her. “What did you mean by that?” She asked with a confused look.

“Wow, for Celestia’s prize pupil, you are a complete idiot.” Sunset scoffed.

“Hey! I’m trying to be nice to you!” Twilight shouted back angrily.

“Well don’t, okay?! I don’t need you being nice to me! It’s bad enough I can’t stop thinking about you every second of the day. I don’t actually need you around me twenty four seven.” Sunset said, but then went wide eyed when she realized what she said.

“I knew it!” Twilight cheered, pointing to her. “I knew you had a crush on me! Sweet Celestia I’m a geni- Whoa!” Twilight was slammed against the nearest lockers with a surprising amount of force.

Sunset got in her face. “Tell anyone and you won’t make it back to Equestria in one piece. Got it?!” She threatened, giving Twilight a good shake.

Twilight nodded wildly. “Yeah okay, got ya. But uh, don’t you think we’re kinda close?” She asked, gesturing to the minimal space in between them.

Sunset looked down to see that their lips were merely inches apart. “Uh, yeah. Maybe...” She trailed, her gaze staying focused on Twilight’s lips, subconsciously licking her own. “Hey...Sparkle?”

“Yeah?” Twilight asked breathlessly.

“If you really wanna help me,” Sunset told her, leaning in closer, her eyes darkening with lust, “Shut up and kiss me.” She pinned Twilight’s arms above her head just like she had in her dream.

Twilight gulped but nodded. “Yeah, yeah I can do that.” She answered before Sunset’s lips met hers hungrily. She moaned into the kiss when Sunset pushed up against her, their bodies touching for the first time but hopefully not the last.

Twilight entangled her hands in Sunset’s hair as the older girl nipped at her bottom lip and tugged at it with her teeth. Twilight had never been kissed before, but if every time was like this, she wouldn’t mind being kissed every day. Sunset’s lips were soft, but her movements were anything but gentle. Everything was rough and hot, just like Sunset.

The other girl was incredibly hot. (figuratively and literally.) The heat that radiated off of her engulfed Twilight like a flame. She had completely forgotten that they were in school, in a hallway that was crowded moments ago. All that mattered was the feel of Sunset’s lips against hers.

That is, until she heard the sound of clapping.

The kiss broke abruptly, Sunset too being confused by the sound. She spun around to see Twilight’s friends standing down the hall with various looks of confusion, shock, and amusement on their faces.

Applejack whistled. “That sure was somethin’.” She commented with a sly smirk.

Rarity fanned herself. “I’ll say. Talk about pent up sexual frustration.”

Pinkie shrugged. “Eh, I saw this coming. It was only a matter of time. I mean Sunset looked like she wanted to jump Twilight the moment she saw her dancing in the cafeteria.”

Fluttershy just stared wide eyed with her hands over her mouth.

Rainbow Dash’s mouth hung open. “I.....I don’t understand! You hated her with every fiber of your being! And now you’re kissing her like, like-!”

“Like I actually want to be with her? Yeah, it surprised me too,” Sunset finished for her, crossing her arms. “But yeah, that’s how love works. In mysterious ways.”

Twilight fought the urge to roll her eyes. "Hey Sunset, why don't I help you some more?" She asked with a smirk.

Sunset smirked back. "Yeah," She said, pulling Twilight close. "I'd like that."
