To Be His Mare: Acceptance

Chapter 4: Freedom

Blitz shook off a small chill creeping its way up his spine. The autumn air had been slowly getting colder as of late, and being out in the open outskirts of Ponyville there was nothing to stop that chill from creeping in. Instinctively, he fluffed his feathers and squeezed his wings tightly to his body in an effort to warm himself. He nestled down into the large red and white checkered blanket he found himself on, pressing his muzzle into the cottony softness. Silently, he looked up at the sky and hoped the late autumn sun would warm him some.

Yet, as cold as it was—and as miserable as he would have been on such a chilly day—he couldn’t let his mood sour. A brush of warmth at his side grew more intense as he felt someone press their body against his. A smile formed on his face as he looked up up from the top of his eyes. Dusk leaned against him, cozying up to Blitz.

“Are you cold?” he asked, softly.

“I’m fine.”

“Good, because I brought some extra special sweets today!” Berry dropped a basket in the middle of the blanket. His face boasted a huge smile as he wiped his forehead.

“Well, I suppose late is better than never,” Elusive examined his hoof as he lay on the blanket. He glanced next to him to Butterscotch with a small smirk. “Scotch was close to fainting from hunger, so it’s a good thing you came.”

Butterscotch’s face lit up red. “I’m not that—” He as cut off my a rumble from his stomach. “I-I skipped breakfast today…” he corrected in a tiny voice.

Elusive laughed slightly. “Don’t be embarrassed,” he said with half-closed eyes. He ran his eyes over Butterscotch for a moment before shifting them to Berry. “Now, all we’re waiting on is Applejack.”

“No, ya aren’t.” Suddenly, a bucket of apples flew into the center of the group of friends, landing squarely next to the picnic basket Berry had brought without losing a single apple. They all glanced up behind Elusive to see the farmer boasting a confident grin. “Just had a few things to finish up before headin’ here. Sorry I’m late.”

Dusk shook his head. “You aren’t late. It’s just an informal get together so—”

“Don’t encourage his tardy behavior, Dusk.” Elusive’s eyes shifted from Dusk to Applejack. “I cleared my schedule, so I don’t believe it’s too much to ask you to at least be on time.” Elusive turned his nose up.

Applejack tipped his hat up and scratched his cheek. “Stuck up as ever, I see,” he said with a chuckle.

Dusk frowned. “Please don’t fight you two.”

“I ain’t.” Applejack shrugged. “If Lucy’s got a bug up his butt ‘cause he’s a little hungry, it ain’t no skin off my bones.” He took a seat next to Berry and Butterscotch, completing the circle around the blanket. “Just can’t leave the farm whenever I want, ya know.”

Once everyone was situated, Elusive levitated an apple into the air. He rolled his neck towards Applejack and gave him a deadpan expression before he passed the apple to Butterscotch. “For your information, I certainly don’t ‘have a bug up my butt’ as you so elegantly put it, but am slightly annoyed.”

His demeanor only made Applejack chuckle some more. “Oh, please, go on, Lucy.” A condescending smirk plastered on his face as he stared at the tailor unflinching.

“I was more concerned for our friends’ well-being than my own.” His eyes shifted to Dusk and Butterscotch, both with frowns clearly visible on their faces. He sighed. “But, I shan’t let the small detail of your lack of punctuality ruin the afternoon.”

“T-thanks,” Butterscotch took the apple in his hoof. “Though, please don’t fight just because I was a bit hungry…”

Blitz rolled his eyes. “We going to eat or what? As cute as it is to watch you two bitch like a couple of fillies in school, I’d rather we eat.”

“Oh, speakin’ of…” A stifled snicker drew his eyes to Applejack. He glared slightly when he noticed him hiding his mouth behind his hoof. But, he wasn’t the only one holding in some laughter. Next to him, Berry’s eyes were glued on Blitz, and he was also barely containing himself behind his hoof.

He clenched his jaw and rolled his eyes. With his hoof, he brushed some of the dangling mess of rainbow-colored mane from his face. “Go ahead, get it out of your system…”

They both snorted. “The hell happened to your mane, Blitz?”

His face lit up bright red. “I-it was an accident, damn it! My barber’s out of town for the week, so I’m stuck with it for a few more days!”

Dusk looked off to the side and scratched his cheek. “He tested a spell for me.” Dusk felt his own face light up from the small lie. He knew Blitz wouldn’t forgive him easily if he told the truth here, and it might raise some awkward questions if he did.

“Jerk…” Blitz muttered.

He half-frowned. “I’ve apologized already—many times.”

“And I’m still stuck with it.”

“Well, if it’s any consolation, I don’t think it looks bad on you,” Butterscotch said after he swallowed a bite of his apple.

In the blink of an eye, Berry reached into the picnic basket and pulled free an apple fritter. “It looks kinda girly, but you pull it off,” he added once his laughing subsided.

Blitz’s eyes narrowed further. “Shut up.”

“Oh, don’t be like that, Blitz.” Elusive waved his hoof dismissively and let out a small chuckle. “A long mane is like a blank canvas to a stylist. The possibilities are endless.” His eyes lit up for a brief moment, almost giving away his excitement. ”I could take a crack at it if you would allow me.”

“Back off. I don’t need those curlicues you got.” He crossed his forelegs.

Elusive’s usual politely pleasant smile turned condescending. “Please, as if you could pull off my style.”

“I actually prefer the messy look he has now,” Dusk said before taking a bite of fritter. “And it looks very cute when it’s long.” Everyone looked to him as silence settled over the group. He shifted his gaze between his friends, curiosity showing in his eyes. “What?”

A sly smile grew on both Elusive and Applejack’s faces. “So, how did Blitz end up like that again?” Applejack rest his head against his hoof as he leaned in towards Dusk.

Dusk’s face flashed red. “An accident…”

“Of course.” Elusive raised his eyesbrows. He turned to Butterscotch and smirked. “Well, enough prodding into their love life—”

“It was an accident!” Blitz corrected.

“Yes, yes, we believe you.” Elusive waved his hoof dismissively again, though this time he didn’t take his attention from Butterscotch. “So, how are you preparations for winter going?”

Dusk placed his foreleg over Blitz’s back and pulled his in close. “Sorry,” he whispered.

“Make it up to me by grabbing me a fritter,” he said as he rest his head against Dusk’s. His request was soon granted when a fritter appeared in front of his muzzle. the sweet, greasy aroma filled his lungs and making his mouth water in anticipation. He felt Dusk lean into him and rub his cheek against his mane. Blitz just smiled as he took a bite of the fritter hovering just in front of him. “Alright, I guess I can forgive you,” he muttered between chews.

Despite the teasing from his friends, he knew it was just that. After all, they had already moved on. Blitz heard Butterscotch and Elusive chatting away next to him, Berry and Applejack were busy stuffing their faces, Dusk was staring up at the clouds, content—everything was about as normal as it ever was. Any teasing from his friends was the same teasing he would have gotten whether he had come out or not. His heart felt at easy just basking in the fact that they didn’t seem to mind. Hell, he was more upset about how he thought they’d respond to his mane than their actual reactions.

Nothing’s changed after they found out,” he thought, his smile widened as he did.

“So, Blitz,” Applejack said in the midst of chewing a bite of fritter. “Ya ain’t out to everypony yet, are ya?” He raised an eyebrow at the pegasus.

“No way. It took me forever to get the guts to tell you guys.” Blitz shook his head with a chuckle.

Berry joined Blitz’s chuckling. “That’s funny,” he added with a snort.

“What”?” Blitz tilted his head slightly, disturbing Dusk’s in the process.

Applejack swallowed his food and cleared his throat. “What Berry’s gettin’ at is, for not bein’ too keen about ponies knowin’ ya swing that way, y’all don’t seem too shy about the PDA.”

It took a moment for the gears in his head to turn as to what Applejack was getting at. A few possibilities as to what ‘PDA’ meant ran through his mind before it hit him—hard. Blitz’s face turned bright red and his heart seized. Immediately, he snapped his head to see if anyone was around but them. With no one to either side, Blitz glanced up at the sky. He stared up into the bright blue for a few tense moments to see the still blue and lazily drifting clouds above.

Once assured of the absence of any pegasus ponies above, he relaxed, but still lowered his head in shame. “T-there’s a reason we had the picnic way out here…” he said softly.

“So you two could get all cosy next to each other?” Berry teased with another snort.

“No!” Blitz snapped as he placed his muzzle on the blanket. “So what if we—”

“Blitz, we ain’t gettin’ on ya about it.” Applejack gave a sympathetic look. “I was just askin’ is all since y’all are pretty smitten right now. I thought ya might’ve changed your mind.”

“We didn’t seem to mind too much,” Buterscotch added. “I mean, I don’t think we did.” His eyes scanned his friends faces to be sure.

Blitz sighed and closed his eyes. “I’m just not ready, guys.” The quivering in his heart after the scare slowly faded. When he opened his eyes, his friends all had supportive smiles. He felt his coltfriend place his foreleg around his back, pulling him in tight. Blitz smiled himself. “But you guys have been awesome.”

“Well, duh. You’re still our friend.” Berry brushed off the notion with a wave of his hoof. “It’s not like we were going to stop being friends because you like Dusk.”

“Quite right,” Elusive added. He glanced up towards the sky for a moment. “Oh, look at the time. I don’t mean to be rude, but It’s getting a little later than I had planned. I’m sure we’re not all free today, I do have some work yet to finish this evening.”

“Eeyup, let’s finish this grub so we can pack it in.” Applejack accented his words with a bite of his apple. “Don’t stress about it, Blitz. Ain’t no rush,” he added while chewing.

“Manners,” Elusive casually reminded.

Applejack only rolled his eyes.

While his friends proceeded to waste their time arguing, Blitz looked down at the checkered blanket. They accepted his when he came out, in fact, they weren’t even surprised by it. If his friends were so accepting, perhaps that meant that maybe the ponies of this town wouldn’t hate him for liking colts. Even Applejack, the pony Blitz thought would have the biggest issue didn’t bat an eye at him being gay.

Maybe I could just tell ponies like I did with them. Maybe they won’t care…

“Barb!” Dusk called out as soon as he opened the library door. He stepped inside, a brown paper bag held aloft in his magic. A small groan drew his attention to the couch where Barb was lying on her belly. She had a bag of chips within arm’s reach and her nose buried in a magazine—probably a gossip rag. Dusk glanced back at Blitz who was still standing in the doorway and shook his head.

“So, you’re just going to spoil your appetite?” he asked with a small smirk.

She waved in his direction, barely listening to what he even said.

“Well, since you didn’t want to come to our little outing, I thought I would be nice and bring you something home. But, if you’ve already eaten…” Dusk raised an eyebrow at Blitz, causing him to snicker.

She finally pulled her attention from her magazine to see the two stallions holding back a laugh. “What’s so funny?” She puffed her cheeks out instinctively, sensing she was the butt of a joke.

Dusk shook his head again before noticing Blitz motion towards Barb. “Well, we brought you an apple fritter from the picnic.”

She raised an eyebrow herself, though her interest was clearly piqued. “So? That’s not that special.”

Dusk feigned shock for a brief moment. “Didn’t you know? These fritters are pretty famous in the area.” He teased by opening the bag and bringing out the tasty treat, waving band and forth, almost hypnotically as to tempt her. “A combination of Apple family secrets and Cake expertise. Sugarcube Corner only makes them in the fall and Berry painstakingly made them special for us. But, now I see you’re eating some potato—”

All it took was a single wiff of the air to pull Barb off the couch. She rushed over in an instant and snatched the fritter before Dusk even finished his sentence. “I’ve still got room!”

He furrowed his brow and yanked the fritter from Barb’s claws. He coughed to clear his throat before taking a step towards her. “No need to get greedy Ms. Grabby Claws.”

She frowned.

Dusk lowered the fritter for Barb to take. “You’re lucky Elusive mentioned it and Berry saved you one. Next time you’ll have to come along if you want one, okay?”

Barb looked to the side. “I didn’t want to hang out with a bunch of dumb boys talking about boy stuff.”

His expression softened and he placed his hoof on the little dragon’s shoulder. “Because boys are so dumb, right?” Dusk let out a laugh. “Well, I don’t blame you. I didn’t want to hang out with my sister’s friends when I was young either.”

Her eyelids half-closed and she puffed out her cheeks. “Then don’t scold me about it…”

Dusk’s ears fell flat. Immediately his eyebrows furrowed again as his eyes shifted to Blitz. His coltfriend was barely holding back a laugh which only made Dusk roll his eyes. “You know what?” he asked turning his head back to Barb. “I hear those are really great when they’re warm. So, why don’t you warm it up and put a bit of butter and cinnamon on it. Doesn’t that sound good?” He looked down at her with a deadpan expression.

She stared up at him for a moment before shrugging her shoulders. “Sure, sounds good.” She tucked the fritter under her arm and triumphantly trotted off into the kitchen, leaving Dusk and Blitz alone in the living room.

Once she was out of sight, Dusk sighed. “Well, now that she’s gone, we can finally talk.” He turned to Blitz with a serious look in his eyes and a small frown resting on his lips.

He raised an eyebrow. “We needed to talk?”

Dusk raised his eyebrow back. “Do we?”

Blitz’s eyes shifted to either side before stopping at Dusk. His brow furrowed as he took a step forward. As he moved, his ear twitched slightly. “Knock it off.” He forced a laugh, playing this as a joke, but when he saw Dusk not backing down, he stopped.

“I’m serious,” Dusk stated, firmly.

“Well then, tell me what’s up instead of playing games.” His ears fell flat.

“You’ve been quiet since the picnic, so I was wondering if you’re feeling okay.”

Blitz waved his hoof dismissively. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. I talked, we had a good time.” He shrugged after he finished, taking a step towards Dusk.

“You stopped after everyone was settled in. The walk home you were silent too.”

A frown formed on his face. “I mean…” he trailed off, letting his eyes fall to the floor for a second. With a short shake of his head, he pulled his focus back up to his partner. “It’s nothing, Dusk.”

“It doesn’t seem like nothing…”

The pegasus took a deep breath. “You know, you can be a pain in the flank sometimes.” He walked up to Dusk. Before Dusk was even able to react, he placed his cheek against his lover’s and gently nuzzled into his neck. “You prod too much. Sometimes I just want to keep things to myself, you know?”

Sometimes those things build up—”

“This isn’t one of those things,” Blitz said flatly. He let out a small groan before pulling his head back from Dusk. “I’ve just been thinking, that’s all. Like, about being open…”

Dusk was silent for a moment before he tilted his head. “With everypony you mean?”

Blitz nodded. He bit his lip, letting it slowly slip past his teeth before saying, “Do you think I should?”

Dusk’s frown shifted into a small smile. His eyes were warm and comforting. “Rainbow, I would love it if you did.” He placed his hoof on Blitz’s shoulder. “But,” his smile faltered just a bit, “I’m not going to tell you if you should or shouldn’t. It’s your decision and you need to make it when you’re ready.”

Blitz bit his lower lip again, this time holding it. His eyes shifted around the room. After he felt his nerves calm enough, he looked Dusk in the eyes once more. “I mean, our friends were cool with it, maybe everypony else will be too?”

Dusk closed his eyes and sighed.

“I’m just thinking that since AJ, Berry, and Butters didn’t flip, maybe no one else would…” His eyes fell back to the floor.

“Being optimistic is good. It’s a nice change of pace from how mopy you’ve been the past few weeks.” Dusk stepped closer and moved his foreleg from Blitz’s shoulder around his neck and pulled him in for a hug. As he wrapped his forelegs around Blitz, he sat down and squeezed his lover tightly. “But, are you sure you want to tell the world?”

Blitz rest his head against Dusk’s and put his foreleg around him as well. Those words hung in his mind for a moment. It had been the question that had been in his mind since Applejack pointed out how open they were. It was the question he was scared to answer. Blitz took a deep breath and let the words come out on their own. “Maybe not…I’m just—”

“I know.” Dusk pressed his cheek into his lover’s head rubbing softly.

Blitz clenched his jaw. “It’s not fair,” he added softly.

“Don’t rush it. You can tell them we’re you’re ready. Don’t feel like you have to tell ponies for me.”

“I really do want to tell ponies…” Blitz stopped himself. His heart sank in his chest as his words sat on the tip of his tongue. Since their friends found out, he felt a burden lifted from him. Outside at the picnic today, he didn’t have a care in the world. No one cared if he and Dusk were cuddling or being close. It felt good—it felt right. But the thought of others knowing sent a jolt of fear right up his spine. How would he even do it? Hand out fliers? Tell random strangers? “Do we even have to say? Could we just…not care?” Blitz asked, timidly.

He let out a short laugh and squeezed Blitz a little tighter. “That’s not the question though, is it? Could you not care?”

Blitz was silent for a moment. Images flashed as he tried to picture himself in public with Dusk; standing next to him, kissing him, going on dates—his heart sank lower. He already imagined their stares on him, rumors starting to fly, comments made. He couldn’t handle that. Ponies respected him and he was the epitome of cool in Ponyville. If he came out as gay, that would all disappear. “I guess not…” His heart sank to new depths as the words softly left his lips.

His jaw clenched. It wasn’t fair. He shouldn’t give a damn what others thought of him—that was a part of being cool. Who were they to judge him for who he liked? What business was it of theirs? Blitz pinched his eyes closed. As much as it shouldn’t matter, and as much as he wished otherwise, he still cared.

Dusk loosened his grip and pulled back from the hug. He let his hooves fall down onto Blitz’s forelegs before stopping them. With a gentle smile, he reassuringly rubbed his coltfriend’s legs. “Don’t worry about it, okay? Just take your time.”

Once his lover’s kind words hit his ears, Blitz opened his eyes. Dusk’s warm smile lifted his heart up. The pegasus slowly nodded and pushed his frustration to the back of his mind. With it stowed away, he took a deep breath. As he exhaled, Blitz put on a smile of his own. “Yeah, I mean, I told our friends. That’s who matters, right? The town’ll figure it out when I want them to.”

Dusk nodded. With a firm pat, he let go of his lover. “Right. ” He stood up and started heading upstairs. But, before he reached the first step, he stopped and turned his head back towards Blitz. “Oh, are you spending the night tonight?”

He blinked absently before shrugging. “I planned on it. Why, you planning something in the bedroom?”

Dusk rolled his eyes playfully. “I was thinking more about dinner tonight, but that could be an option.” A seductive grin came across his face as he stared at his coltfriend with a half-lidded gaze. Blitz returned the look before.

With a sultry smirk, Blitz starting to move towards him. “Why not now? I’m sure you could find something for Barb to do, giving us a bit of private time. Unless you really have something to read or—” Before Blitz finished, Dusk held up his hoof to stop him from advancing.

His snapped his attention to the couch that Barb had been laying on. Once he noticed the scattering of magazines and the bag of potato chips still sitting there, Dusk furrowed his brow. Crumbs and clutter, two things that irked him more than anything—and Barb knew better than to leave it like that. “Barb! Can you clean up this mess?”

A groan echoed from the kitchen, causing Dusk to roll his eyes. “When you’re done.” When he looked back, he noticed Blitz’s ears were flat and a deadpan expression on his face. He cracked an apologetic smile. “M-maybe we had best save it for tonight…”

------------------------------

The sound of birds chirping was usually a pleasant sound. Living in a tree, Dusk was accustomed to their sweet songs coaxing him from his slumber on a lazy morning. Today, however, did not seem to be one of those days. His eyes cracked open to the glare of the early morning sun shining in through his window.

They reflexively closed on him, causing him to roll onto his opposite side away from the stinging glare. As he rolled, his foreleg fell upon a warm mass sleeping soundly under his blanket. He cracked a smile and wrapped his foreleg around his sleeping coltfriend and snuggled up close. His eyes hung just barely open for a brief moment, mentally debating if he should go back to sleep or lay in bliss with his partner for a few moments longer before getting up for the day. Blitz nestling into his chest had put an end to that debate.

Dusk sighed and buried his muzzle into his lover’s mane. The thick scent of sweat from the previous night’s activities still hung on his scalp. His heart fluttered from the warm aroma filling his lungs. Once full, he let the air out in a slow, listless sigh. “Such a wonderful, relaxing morning after a beautiful picnic yesterday. It’s been a great couple of days.

He stared off into space, simply basking in the moment for a short while before his eyes shifted to the clock on the night stand. It was already seven thirty, well past the time Dusk and Blitz usually got up on days he had work. Dusk smiled and rubbed his muzzle into his lover’s mane once more. He knew he should get up, but the soreness in his muscles after their night together beckoned Dusk back to be lazy. Slowly, his eyes drifted closed, ready to return to a delightful sleep, even for just a few more minutes. “Good thing it’s the weekend,” he said softly to not wake his bedmate.

But, just as he was settling back to sleep, Dusk scrunched his muzzle. His brain was rousing from its usual early morning daze to a startling realization. “Yesterday hadn’t been the end of the week, which meant today wasn’t the weekend.” His mental gears continued to turn, though he wished they hadn’t. “I’m pretty sure it’s the middle of the week, which means Rainbow has work today.” His eyes shot opened and immediately focused back on the alarm clock.

Sure enough, the face read a little past seven thirty. His heart froze. The sun being up and the chirping of the birds—he shouldn’t be lazily enjoying this. Dusk jumped out of bed and shook Blitz awake. “Rainbow, wake up! I forgot to set the alarm last night!” he said, panic filling his voice.

Blitz’s eyes opened, though barely registering what was happening. “What?” he asked, struggling to sound somewhat aware.

Dusk yanked the blanket off of him and gave him a firm gaze. “I forgot to set the alarm last night. You have fifteen minutes to get to work!”

The groggy pegasus shook his head. The words took a moment, but finally sunk in. His eyes nearly popped out of his skull. “You serious?”

“I’m sorry,” Dusk apologized. “But, if you hop in the shower and—”

“I don’t have time for a shower!” Blitz pulled himself off the bed though his hind legs remained tangled in the blanket. Unable to catch himself on all fours, he tumbled onto the floor with a loud thud. “I’ve got to worry about ponies seeing me leave your house!”

Dusk took a deep breath. “It’s still pretty early. It won’t be that noticeable.” His horn lit up, hoisting Blitz into the air and tugging the blanket free from his hind legs. Once unfettered, he set his coltfriend down squarely on all fours. “Just relax and don’t act like it’s a big deal, okay?”

Blitz placed a hoof to his forehead, rubbing gently. “It is a big deal!”

Dusk help up his hoof to calm Blitz down. “Look, if anypony asks why you’re leaving my house, just tell them you spent the night. It got late and you crashed here. Does that sound like a good excuse?”

He opened his mouth to respond but stopped himself. He didn’t have time to argue. After he pinched his eyes closed in an effort to force himself to wake up, he glanced at the clock. The time immediately made him wince. “Damnit, I’m really going to be late,” he muttered to himself. After a second of starting at the time, Blitz took a deep breath and looked back to Dusk. “No point in flipping out, I guess. Kinda have to deal with the consequences now.” Blitz walked up to Dusk and planted a quick kiss on his cheek. “I need to get going. See you after I get off.”

After the quick peck to the cheek, Blitz rushed out of the room and down the stairs. Dusk didn’t even have a chance to say goodbye before he was out of sight. He waited for the sound of the front door to slam closed and sighed. “I hope he’ll be okay…”

“And I hope one of these days he spends the night I’ll actually get some sleep…” An irritated and distinctly feminine voice pulled Dusk’s attention to the other side of the room. Barb lay in her basket with half closed eyes and a displeased look plastered on her face.

Dusk forced a smile. “S-sorry, Barb.”

“Always something with you guys, geez,” she muttered as she rolled over onto her side.

Once the dragon was returning to sleep, Dusk looked back to the empty stairwell. Something ominous tugged at his heart. “I can’t believe I forgot to set the alarm last night. And with how he was acting yesterday, I’m worried he’s going to snap if somepony notices. He’s had a taste of freedom with our friends and Rainbow being as hotheaded as he is…I guess I can just hope he doesn’t do anything rash…

------------------------------

“Damnit,” Blitz muttered to himself as he stepped outside the library. The sun was already climbing into the morning sky, and with its rise the town came to life. Even in the quiet part of town where the library was situated, ponies were opening their windows to greet the day and a few were already venturing out.

Blitz took a deep breath of the brisk morning air before giving a powerful flap of his wings. In an instant he was off into the sky with nothing but a rainbow trail behind him. As he flew away, he scanned the surrounding area, finding the few ponies about paying no mind to what was happening above. He breathed a sigh of relief since they were none the wiser that he had been at Dusk’s. He felt a smile crack on his face and slowed to a more leisurely pace. His heart even began to relax now that he was off to work—even if he was late, he already dodged a bigger bullet.

Then a voice called out his name, making his heart stop dead in his chest. “Hey, Blitz!” he heard from behind. He glanced back to see Thunderlane gaining on him, waving his hoof.

“H-hey, what’s up?” he replied, offering a nervous smile. It was probably the last thing he needed, bumping into a co-worker. After all, he was barely awake and only running on adrenaline from the shock of being woken up so suddenly—and the shock itself had already put him in a bad mood as it was.

“Nothing much.” Thunderlane sped up just enough to catch up to Blitz. After he was at his side, he match Blitz’s pace. “You ready for today?”

Blitz raised an eyebrow, but remained silent.

“Oh, I guess you did bail early yesterday.” He chuckled to himself.

“I didn’t bail! I had other stuff to do!” Blitz clenched his jaw, immediately wanting to kick himself for lashing out. He noticed Thunderlane was flying a bit further away after he snapped at him. “Sorry, it’s, uh, been a rough morning…”

He stared at Blitz for a moment before nodding. “Well, uh, since you missed the announcement, we got a huge shipment of clouds in and we’ve got to have the sky covered by the end of the week.”

Blitz’s jaw dropped. “You serious?” Blitz let out a loud, drawn out groan. “We have to have that all done today?”

“Nah.” Thunderlane wave his hoof. “We’re scheduled for partly cloudy today to split up the work. Shouldn’t be too bad, but still a lot to do.” His eyes narrowed and a smirk came across his face. “Unless you’re not feeling up to it, Blitz.”

Before he spit out another trite rebuttal, Blitz clenched his jaw again. Mentally, he told himself it was just a joke and to not take it seriously. He took a deep breath and forced a smirk on his face as well. “Yeah, right. I could fly circles around you.” After he finished, he forced out a laugh. Despite being annoyed from his early The panic from before was gone, now he was just casually talking to a co-worker without a care. Thunderlane hadn’t noticed where he was coming from.

“Say, what’re you doing out this way anyway?” Thunderlane asked, suddenly. “I mean, don’t you live on the opposite end of town?” He had a puzzled look on his face as he glanced around at the surrounding houses..

Blitz’s heart seized again. He forced a laugh. “Y-yeah, I was just…Uh…”

“You were coming from the library, right?” Thunderlane replied for him, making Blitz’ heart seize one more. “You’ve been hanging out there a lot.”

“Yeah.” Blitz scoffed, putting on an air of confidence. “I had to drop off a book to my friend Dusk. It was overdue and I kinda fell asleep early last night.” He gave another awkward smile to cover up his lie. At least, they always felt awkward—mostly because they were forced. No one ever caught on he was lying.

Thunderlane nodded after a second, though remained skeptical. “I guess that makes sense. You just kinda of look like hell today—like you just woke up.”

“I did.” Blitz took a breath and looked ahead. “Look, we’d better get going or we’re going to be late.”

“Yeah, I guess.”

Blitz let out the breath he had taken slowly. “Today’s going to suck, I just know it…

As the morning went on, Blitz was feeling more confident in that sentiment. He wiped his brow as his eyes drifted out to the sky over Ponyville. A few large blankets of grey clouds dotted the view, but something tugged his attention away from his accomplishments. His gaze shifted next to him, finding a huge pile of clouds still in need of a home. He cringed.

His eyes weighed heavy from the lack of sleep, and just looking at that pile made his muscles ache. His back and legs were already sore—not that the previous night hadn’t done a number on them already. As that thought hung over his mind for a moment, he felt the phantom caress of his coltfriend on his fur. A small comfort and enough to make Blitz smirk. He stretched his neck to shake off the exhaustion and sore muscles. With a practical mountain of clouds left to move, he didn’t have time to daydream.

“Hey, Blitz!” A voice called to him just as he was about to return to work. He glanced up to see Thunderlane gracing him for the second time that morning. Shortly behind him was Silverwing, looking a bit worried.

Probably lady troubles again.” He took a deep breath. After he exhaled, he looked up and gave a tired smile. He raised a hoof to greet them. “What’s up?”

“You got a minute?” Thunderlane asked after he came closer, stopping in front of Blitz.

“We’re kind of busy today, aren’t we? You guys really have time to chat?”

“This is more important than the job,” Silver said, coming to a stop next to Thunderlane.

“Dude, if you’re having trouble with your marefriend again, it can wait.”

Thunderlane and Silver both shook their heads.

“It’s not that.” Thunderlane looked to Silver before turning a nervous glance back to Blitz. “You know, a lot of us on the team look up to you, Blitz. So we care about you, dude…”

Blitz blinked absently for a moment as he stared at Thunderlane. “What’s going on?” His eyes shifted from the two pegasus hovering in front of him. Both had concerned looks on their faces, which only deepened Blitz curiosity.

Silver cleared his throat. “We’ve been talking and we wanted to ask you something.” There was a short pause as Silver and Thunderlane both stared at one another for a moment before Silver continued. “You feeling okay, Blitz?”

He raised an eyebrow at the question, looking the two before him in the face once again. Their unchanging expressions offered nothing new.

With no response from Blitz, Silver clarified, “I mean, you’ve been skipping out on work early, and then you’ve been pretty distant the past few weeks…Things going okay?”

Blitz’s heart skipped a beat. “T-things are fine.”

“Come on, Blitz.” Thunderlane rolled his eyes. “You’re exhausted all the time, moody, and you look like hell.”

“I do not!”

Silver spoke up. “You kinda do, dude. The past month or so something’s changed. You don’t style your mane like you used to—”

“You came to work one day and it was like twice as long!” Thunderlane waved his hoof frantically.

Silver glared at him before picking up where he left off. “—your voice is higher, it’s like you’ve got your head in the clouds. You’ve got no drive anymore! What happened to the guy who used to get the whole weather team pumped up? The guy who used to race to get the job done? What happened to him?”

“You guys are crazy.” Blitz waved his hoof dismissively. “I’m still that guy, I’ve just been…”

“What?” Thunderlane raised his eyebrow. “Spending all your time at the library?”

Blitz rubbed the back of his head with his hoof. “I don’t spend that much time there. I’m friends with the guy who lives there and we do read stuff sometimes. It’s not a big deal to see me over at his—”

“That’s not what I mean!” Thunderlane interrupted, his brow furrowing as he spoke. “You can drop the act, Blitz. I’ve got myself a routine of getting up early to get some exercise before work, you know. While flying, I’ve seen you sneaking out of the library super early. I didn’t think much of it at first, but when I saw you in that end of town a few mornings a week, something’s got to be up.”

Blitz’s heart felt like it was struggling to keep up. Each beat was a chore in itself. “I’ve crashed there a few times…”

“A few.” Thunderlane scoffed and then moved closer to Blitz. He poked his hoof into his chest. “Dude, you’re hiding something from us. I didn’t say anything on the way to work, but you look like you just woke up, you smell like you haven’t showered, and—”

“If I didn’t know any better, I’d say you were seeing a mare. I’ve seen plenty of guys change when they get in a relationship.” Silver kept his distance, but furrowed his brow as he looked at Blitz with an accusatory gaze.

“They don’t usually get so girly though.” Thunderlane looked from Silver back to Blitz.

Blitz’s eyes went wide at that word. He opened his mouth to say something, but he noticed Thunderlane moving back after he spoke, almost as if realizing he crossed a line. As he moved back, Blitz closed his mouth and looked off to the side. “So what?” he asked between gritted teeth.

“We’re just worried about you. If you’re dating somepony, that’s cool, but we only ever see you at Dusk’s. If I didn’t know any better, it sounds like you’re…You know?”

Somehow through it all, Blitz’s heart managed to catch up. Even more so, it felt like it was making up for slacking off before. Each passing second his heart raced faster and faster. Others had noticed. He wanted to hit something—a cloud, a tree, Thunderlane’s face, anything to not feel like this. Inside, he felt it reaching a boiling point. Yesterday with Dusk, his rude awakening, bumping into Thunderlane, his shitty job, and now this. Blitz couldn’t take it anymore. “No, I don’t have to take it!

“It’s Blitz we’re talking about. He wouldn’t—” Silver was interrupted as he spoke to Thunderlane.

Blitz pinched his eyes closed and felt his foreleg begin to shake. “I’m fucking him alright? Is that what you wanted to hear?”

Both pegasus’s eyes went wide after a moment of it sinking in.

“Yeah, I said it! I’m fucking Dusk! We’re gay, I’m a coltcuddling faggot, I’m taking it up the ass from him, alright? And you know what? I don’t give a shit what you guys have to say about it!” Blitz opened his eyes and glared at them. His blood was racing, but at the same time, he felt all that tension release. He simply stared at them, breathing for a moment before glancing back at his work.

“Fuck it,” he muttered. “I’m taking off for the day.” He turned to leave. But, before he did, he felt the need to say one last thing. “Oh, and if you guys have a problem with me being gay, just remember that this faggot’s still fucked more mares than you.”

Blitz left them in the dust with a powerful flap of his wings. Soon only a rainbow streak trailing off was all that left hanging in the distance.

------------------------------

Dusk let out a soft sigh as he strolled down the stairs in the library, a book levitating just in front of him. As he reached the bottom step, he closed the book and set it down on a table. He glanced up at the clock ticking listlessly. His brow furrowed and he turned his gaze to the window.

Clouds were dotting the sky above, dimming the early afternoon sun. With a half frown, Dusk sighed again. “I hope Rainbow’s—”

He was interrupted by the front door swinging open. The sudden intrusion on his musings made him jump slightly. He opened his mouth to berate whoever startled him so, only to see Blitz standing in the doorway. Upon seeing his coltfriend’s face, Dusk realized scolding him probably wasn’t the best course of action to take. Blitz radiated anger from his eyes and his teeth were firmly clenched. They locked eyes for a moment, which softened Blitz’s gaze slightly.

Blitz kicked the front door closed with his hind leg. In a rainbow-colored blur, he immediately dashed at Dusk. They collided heavily, almost knocking the wind out of the unicorn and sending the two tumbling onto the floor. As they fell, Blitz wrapped his forelegs around him and squeezed Dusk tightly. He buried his muzzle into his lover’s chest as they came to rest on the ground, Blitz laying atop of Dusk—the latter utterly confused.

“W-what’s the matter?” Dusk asked, somehow managing to catch some of his breath. He brought a hoof to Blitz’s back and patted him gently.

“I’m pissed off, alright? I just need this for a sec…”

Time passed by, counted only by the ticks of the clock as the two lay on the floor. Dusk continued to idly stroked Blitz’s back, just listening to the hypnotic ticking and his lover’s breathing. Seconds turned to minutes without a word said between them. It wasn’t until Blitz finally looked up at Dusk, resting his muzzle on the unicorn’s chest that he spoke.

“Today sucked…” he muttered, his brow still furrowed in anger.

Dusk gave a sympathetic look as he moved his hoof from Blitz’s back to his neck. “I take it something bad happened?” He continued to gently pet him.

“Yeah,” Blitz sighed with a sigh. His eyes shifted to the side. “Thunderlane bumped into me as I left this morning.”

“You work with him, right?”

Blitz nodded. “Anyway, he and one of my other co-workers jumped me today and started asking questions.“ As he spoke, Blitz felt his jaw muscles growing tighter and tighter until he was talking through his teeth. When he realized that, he took a deep breath. “I flipped on them,” he added, closing his eyes.

“You didn’t hurt them, did you?” Dusk’s eyes widened slightly.

“No, I just went off on them. I’m sick of it. I shouldn’t have to hide it, and I’m done!” He pinched his eyes closed tightly. His jaw tightened once more and he squeezed Dusk closer. “I’m fucking done hiding it! Our friends know, so I shouldn’t care!”

As hard as it was, Dusk was only able to offer a half-smile. He slowly petted Blitz’s mane, noticing the pegasus relax in his embrace after a few, tender strokes. “Are you upset because they know?”

Blitz sat still, unmoving.

Dusk sighed. After a few seconds of silence, he felt Blitz relax even more. He rubbed his muzzle into Dusk’s chest, his eyes loosening their tight pinch. It was as he feared, Blitz blowing up at work, but the result wasn’t quite what he expected. Blitz didn’t seem upset over ponies finding out, but more that he was pushed to that point. In a way, it was comforting to see that he had come so far. “Well, I’m sure word will spread.”

“Yeah,” Blitz muttered, plainly.

“Are you worried?”

“I guess…” he replied, still holding the same indifference. He slowly opened his eyes. Now that his emotions had run their course, all that was left was the exhaustion he felt from earlier creeping back into his body. He stared into Dusk’s eyes with a lazy sort of expression. “I’m more pissed at myself then them…”

“So, you told somepony outside your circle of friends.” Dusk looked up to the ceiling. “I guess this means you’re out.”

Blitz blinked absently. “I guess it does.”

“I believe that means I had better start preparing something.” He started to smile.

“No dresses. I’m not in the mood for that shit tonight. And I’m not in the mood for Berry, so no parties either.”

Dusk continued to smirk as he stared up at the ceiling. “Of course not. I’ve got something better planned.”

Blitz took a deep breath, letting his eyes drift closed. Halfway through his deep breath turned into a yawn. As he exhaled he pressed his muzzle down into Dusk’s chest and snuggled into it. “You do that. Since I ditched work, I’m going to catch a nap.”

The unicorn’s smirk vanished in an instant. “Shouldn’t you go talk to your boss or something?”

Blitz shrugged. “No, I’m still too pissed to go back.” He shifted his head to lay on its side. “Besides, not like they’ll fire me. I might get a warning, but they won’t can me over leaving early.”

Dusk frowned. “If you say so.”

“It’s fine, Dusk. Now, let me sleep some of this anger off.”

It took a few moments for Dusk to realize that they were laying there, on the library floor. Blitz was cozied on his chest, still hugging him, and his own hoof still on Blitz’s neck, gently petting his lover. If anyone were to walk in, it’d certainly be a sight, but that wasn’t what Dusk found worrisome. “You’re not using me as your bed for the afternoon…” he said plainly.

------------------------------

After a few hours, the soft ticking of the clock and the occasional snores of a sleeping pegasus were the only noises in the library. It left Dusk with a relatively quiet afternoon to continue his reading. He lay on the rug in the living room, a book in front of him and a barely touched cup of tea sitting to the side. Barb was with Elusive, thus leaving the two of them alone, and Dusk with his thoughts while Blitz slept.

Dusk glanced up at Blitz, seeing him contently snoozing on the sofa. He furrowed his brow at the sight. While not unpleasant to see his coltfriend resting peacefully, the earlier bombshell left him uneasy. It wasn’t a dent to Blitz’s reputation he was worried about, but with how Blitz handled the situation, Dusk feared there would be lasting effects on Blitz’s relationships with his co-workers, or even his job.

He looked back down at his book, realizing he was at the end of the chapter, but couldn’t recall any of its contents. Dusk pinched his eyes closed and levitated the cup of tea to his lips. It was already ice cold, but that barely registered. “What’s he going to do if he loses his job because he went off on his co-workers and left early? What if they start treating him poorly?

Once he swallowed the cold tea, Dusk inhaled sharply. It was pointless to stress over, and he was aware of that. He wasn’t like Blitz who could live in the moment. He just wasn’t the type to not think about his lover’s wellbeing and fear for him. Then there was how well Blitz was taking it. Finally, he sighed. “We’ll just have to wait and see how things play out,” he muttered under his breath.

Just then, a knock came from the door. Dusk raised an eyebrow at the noise. Slowly he got on his hooves, levitating his cup onto a table as he did. He made his way to the door and opened it. Much to his surprise, it was a group of pegasi, a few of which Dusk recalled seeing around town on occasion—mostly stallions and a few mares.

He forced on a smile to greet them, but inside he was cautious. “Can I help you?” Before they even said anything, he already had an idea where this conversation was heading. His eyes shifted to the couch for a brief moment, finding Blitz still passed out.

A pony with a dark grey coat cleared his throat, pulling Dusk’s attention back to the doorway. “Is, uh, Blitz here?”

Dusk looked the stallion over carefully. His eyes weren’t quite meeting Dusk’s, instead choosing to stay either to the side of at his chest. His head was hung a little lower than it should have been, and his ears were back slightly. Then there were the creases in his forehead and angle of his eyes that sealed it.

Inside, Dusk felt his heart relax, almost breathing a slight sigh of relief. But, instead, he simply nodded. “He’s sleeping at the moment. If you would like, I can give him a message.”

“I’d rather tell him in person. Can you tell him Thunderlane’s here?”

Dusk scanned the group once more, noticing the same look on at least one other face. The rest seemed stoic, but respectful. He nodded again. “Wait one moment.”

He partially closed the door and walked over to the couch. Once there, he placed a hoof on Blitz’s shoulder and gave a soft nudge. “Rainbow?” he asked softly.

“Hm?” Blitz cracked open a single eye.

“There’s some ponies here to see you.”

Blitz closed his eye and rolled them behind his eyelids. He took a deep breath and stretched his legs and neck. “The guys from work?” he asked mid stretch. When he stopped he let out a sigh. “Tell ‘em to go away. If they want to get pissed at me, they can do it tomorrow.”

“I don’t think that’s why they’re here.” Dusk looked back towards the door.

Blitz cracked his eye opened once more. He raised an eyebrow and followed Dusk’s gaze towards the door. “What, are they here to fire me then?”

“Why don’t you go see what they want.”

He let out a reluctant groan, but forced himself up. “Fine…”

Once on his feet, he felt Dusk give him a reassuring pat on his back. Blitz rolled his eyes. The two of them made their way to the door with Blitz keeping a stoic facade. Dusk stopped just out of view, letting Blitz handle the situation himself.

Blitz swung open the door quickly, maintaining the same dull look. He was met with his co-workers, Thunderlane at the front and Silver just behind. The rest of the weather team was also there, but looking distinctly less worried than the two at the front. He took a slow, deep breath. “What do you guys want?”

“Cut right to the point, huh?” muttered one of the mares from the team. Thunderlane shot a small glare back at her, which she simply shrugged off. “You’re the ones who pissed him off.”

Thunderlane looked back at Blitz. “About earlier today—”

“You guys come to kick me off the team or something?”

Silver shook his head. “No, we came to say we’re sorry.”

“Sorry?” Blitz raised an eyebrow. “You’re not here to kick me off the team for being a fag or something?” He let out a dry laugh.

Thunderlane spoke up. “We don’t care if you’re gay.” His eyes shifted to the side for a moment before bouncing back to Blitz.

Blitz dropped his disinterested facade, letting his eyes widen for a second. “You don’t?”

“No.” Thunderlane shook his head. “You’re one of the coolest guys I know. We only got on you today because of how you’ve been acting lately. I mean, this morning you looked like hell, dude. And with you skipping out early on work too, we’ve been worried about you…”

“I haven’t.” The mare spoke up again.

“Shut up, Cloudchaser,” Silver snapped at her.

She rolled her eyes. “I told you guys Blitz’d tell us when he’s ready and you guys went to talk to him anyway. It’s all your fault he flipped.”

Seeing them argue brought a small grin to Blitz’s face. “So, none of you care?” he asked after a brief pause came.

The group turned their attention back to Blitz. “Not really,” Cloudchaser said. The rest nodded in agreement.

“If you’re gay, who cares, right? What you do is your own business, but we were just wanted to make sure things were going okay.” Silver added. This time the nods that followed the sentiment were accompanied by sounds of agreement.

Cloudchaser brought her hoof to the back of her head, and let out a nervous laugh. “Though It does explain a few things from before…”

Blitz raised an eyebrow. “What do you mean?”

“Nothing!” She blushed. “It’s not important, forget I said anything!”

Thunderlane cleared his throat to bring the conversation back. “We don’t care if you’re gay, Blitz. So, what do you say? You forgive us?”

He stared at Thunderlane for a moment. The telltale signs of doubt were still present on his face. Blitz’s narrowed his eyes and his smile widened into the confident smirk he was known for. After a second, he stuck out a hoof. “Yeah, we’re cool.” With a sigh of relief, Thunderlane bumped his hoof with his own. “And sorry about bailing on work today too, guys.”

“Just make sure you show up tomorrow, okay?” Silver replied.

He nodded. “Yeah, I’ll be there.”

“Bright and early," Cloudchaser teased. "We had to cover for you today. We might need a free meal to make up for it.” She smirked at him as she turned her back.

“I got it, geez.” Blitz rolled his eyes, annoyance growing in his voice. “See you all tomorrow.”

With a final wave, each member of the weather team left and went their own ways, leaving Blitz standing in the doorway. As they faded from view, he let out a soft sigh. He felt a sense of warmth next to him as Dusk stepped to his side. “Well, that worked out surprisingly well.”

Blitz let out a chuckle as he closed the door. “I know, right?” He shook his head as he turned to return to the couch. “I should’ve gone off on them weeks ago.”

------------------------------

With a thud, Blitz hit the mattress. The cramped bed felt delightfully inviting as he sunk into the plush surface. He rolled onto his back, leaving just enough space for Dusk to join him. “I’m glad today’s over…” he muttered.

Dusk gingerly climbed into the bed and lay on his back. Once comfortable, he used his magic to bring the blanket over them. “Says the pony who skipped out on work to take a nap,” Dusk teased. He looked at Blitz from the corner of his eye and gave a smirk.

“Okay, goodnight, guys,” Barb said loudly, her voice radiating irritation. She rolled over onto her side, tightening her grip on her blanket as she did. “I don’t need to hear you two flirting all night, so keep it down,” she added just loud enough for them to hear.

Dusk rolled his eyes. “Goodnight, Barb. I’ll put up a soundproof barrier around you so you don’t have to listen to us flirt, okay?”

“Whatever.” She closed her eyes and went silent.

Soon a purple glow appeared around her basket. “Now, where were we?”

“You being a jerk.”

Dusk chuckled softly to himself. “Oh, you like it when I tease you.” He turned on his side so he was facing Blitz. Then, he wrapped his forelegs around him and pulled him into a hug. His lover accepted the embrace, shifting so his muzzle was resting against Dusk‘s chest. “It’s not like it wasn’t true, either.”

“Little simplified.” Blitz rubbed his muzzle into Dusk’s fur. “But, since some other ponies know about us, and Barb can’t hear us, I think you owe me something…”

The corners of Dusk’s mouth turned up as he placed his muzzle on top of Blitz’s head. “Oh? Are you expecting your reward already? You know, good things come to those who wait.”

“Shut up.” Blitz pushed himself from Dusk’s embrace and sat up. He stared down at Dusk’s face, still boasting that smirk. he smiled himself as he climbed on top of Dusk. “I had a rough day after I woke up, okay? I need something to take my mind off it.”

Dusk shrugged. “And here you’re going to waste your surprise.” He let out a string of short tisks as he shook his head.

Once he didn’t get a reaction from Blitz however, he stopped. Dusk found himself staring into Blitz’s focused and determined eyes with a half-lidded gaze. His heart was racing with excitement, both for Blitz and a little extra fun. He took a deep breath and made a weak attempt at a sulking facade. “Fine.”

His lover leaned down, a victorious grin on his face. “So, what was it? You were talking about letting me top.”

Dusk gave him a quick peck on the nose before he grabbed Blitz. with a mixture of magic and muscle, Dusk topped the pegasus and rolled over him over onto his back, effectively pinning him to the mattress.

Blitz’s eyes went wide as he found himself under Dusk. “Come on! I was looking forward to topping.”

Dusk sat up and placed his hoof on Blitz’s chest. He looked down at him from his nose with a condescending smirk. “I never made such a promise.” He laughed to himself with a pleased look in his eye.

Blitz wasn’t so thrilled. He furrowed his brow and scowled. “Seriously? Why did you lead me on then?”

Still smirking, Dusk raised a hoof and playfully bopped Blitz on the nose. “Hush.” He lovingly ran his hoof along Blitz’s cheek, tracing along his neck, and down onto his chest once more. “Trust me, you’ll love it tonight.” he whispered as he stared down at his lover’s wonderfully tight chest.

His scowl did loosen, but he still felt a bit deceived. “Just tell me already…”

As Dusk traced circles into Blitz’s fur, he occasionally looked up from his ministrations to meet his coltfriend’s glare. “I thought about what we should do. It should be special and something that’s just as enjoyable for you as it is for me.” Blitz nodded, following along with what he said. “So, what I decided upon is that I’m going to introduce you to the wondrous world of having a power bottom.”

“A power bottom?” His glare vanish, replaced with a raised eyebrow in its wake.

Dusk nodded, stopping his hoof in its tracks. “It’s been awhile for me, but I think we can both get what we want here.” He shifted his butt, rubbing it against Blitz’s sheath. Immediately, he felt the cock hiding inside stiffen in response.

Blitz’s eyes widened for a moment. “So, you’re going to let me fuck you tonight?”

“Not quite. Just leave everything to me.” Dusk sat up completely straight, forcing his puckered entrance down onto the opening on Blitz’s sheath. He felt the head of his coltfriend’s cock springing forth from its home and rubbing against his hole. He let out a low moan. “I haven’t taken somepony’s dick in a long time, so we’re going to have to take this slow.”

Blitz placed his hoof on Dusk’s cutie mark, gently tracing small circles as he let his lover rub along his growing length. His dick was almost completely free from his sheath, and Dusk had moved so it was no longer pressing against his entrance. Now, pinning his dick between his body and Dusk’s, the unicorn carefully shifted his ass along Blitz’s cock with care. The warmth of his body and his weight expertly coaxed Blitz to full mast.

He let out a low, satisfied groan. He glanced down his barrel to see his cock’s head poking out from under Dusk’s balls, watching them rhythmically dragged along his shaft. Just above the sight, he noticed Dusk’s dick starting to slip free from his own sheath as well. The sight of his coltfriend enjoying some less direct stimulation brought a small smirk to his face.“Go as slow as you want.”

He pressed his hooves into Dusk’s haunches, squeezing him tightly. There was a bit of meat to him, not exactly fat, but he wasn’t trim like Blitz. It was enough for him to get a solid grip.

“Careful now,” Dusk said with a stern voice.

That reminder made Blitz loosen his grip on his coltfriend’s haunches. He gave a nervous laugh and patted Dusk’s cutie mark. “Sorry, just—uh—you’ve got a really nice ass and I don’t get to grab it much.”

“Thanks,” Dusk said with a small laugh in his voice. He glanced down at Blitz’s member, finding it rock hard and already leaking precum from the tip. With a smirk, he lifted himself from Blitz’s crotch, gaining a small whine from his lover as he hooves had to be removed from Dusk’s sides. Once he was up, he laid down with his hind end towards Blitz’s head. He then placed a hoof on his coltfriend’s dick and subtly moved along its length,

“It’s nice to know you appreciate my body, but don’t get too assertive unless you want to see that side of me.” He gave Blitz a sultry glance as he took his lover’s dick in his magic. He pulled the drooling cock over to his mouth and placed his lips on the head.

As soon as Dusk’s lips were on him, Blitz felt the slow, agonizing tingle of Dusk’s tongue slowly rolling over the tip of his cock. The first lap rolled broadly over him, cleaning the budding drop of pre from his urethra before circling around his girth. He inhaled sharply from electric tingle running through his groin. “Fuck, you’re so good at this.”

Dusk parted his lips and gave one slow lick along the tip. “I can’t say I don’t enjoy the look on your face when I suck your dick. Maybe that’s why I’ve been doing it so much lately.” His eyes shifted to Blitz’s, taking in the lust-filled gaze and quivering lip. Keeping his eyes locked on his lover’s, Dusk lowered his mouth down onto Blitz’s cock once more.

Blitz’s head rolled back into the pillow as his member was engulfed in a delightfully slick warmth. His whole body went lax, basking in the sensations of his lover’s ministrations. Each lap of Dusk’s tongue ignited another shock through Blitz, making his hind leg twitch involuntarily. It was sheer bliss.

Dusk took him deeper, foregoing his usual teasing routine and taking Blitz past his medial ring in one go. A sharp gasp from the sudden plunge told him he was doing well. He paused for a moment after Blitz’s medial ring, licking the thicker part of the stallion’s cock thoroughly. He ran his tongue along the ridge, coaxing a small hump from Blitz.

He pulled back, leaving just the head of his lover’s dick in his mouth where he sucked lovingly. The salty but satisfying taste of Blitz’s precum hit his tastebuds drew a lustful groan from Dusk. He dove down once more, this time taking Blitz deeper. Again he paused once he stopped, almost down to Blitz’s hilt to let the pegasus enjoy the warm wetness that was his mouth.

Blitz whined as Dusk continued to torment him. His tongue work and long pauses were too much to handle. It was excruciating how Dusk pushed him closer and closer to orgasm, flooding his body with pleasure in a slow, deliberate way. “Dusk!” Blitz whined.

At that, Dusk slowly, pulled himself from the base of Blitz’s cock. He trailed his tongue along his lover’s sensitive length, leaving him squirming in pleasure. Once he reached the top, he noticed the head of Blitz’s cock was thicker than he remembered. It didn’t take him long to realize Blitz was already starting to flare. He pulled free with a loud, audible pop. “That close, huh?”

“Shit, I almost blew down your throat.” He chuckled

Dusk’s horn sparked with a purple glow, a glow that soon engulfed Blitz’s dick as well. “Well, we’d better fix that.”

Blitz felt his dick go numb for a second. His cock flexed strongly before the sensation came back, leaving him with a puzzled look.

With a pleased smile, Dusk looked to the nightstand. “A little precaution. Can’t have you cumming too soon, so I gave you a bit more stamina.” The drawer opened on it opened and out levitated a bottle of lube. “Now, as I said, it’s been awhile since I’ve had anything up there. That means we’re using plenty of this stuff and we’re going slow.” The bottle squeezed in Dusk’s magical aura, squirting out a jet of clear liquid that was trapped inside his grasp. Some of the cool liquid was used to coat Blitz’s dick while the rest broke free and hovered off behind Dusk.

“We’re really doing this?” Blitz swallowed a growing lump in his throat. His heart was starting to pound in his chest as the realization of what he was about to do started to sink in.

Dusk simply nodded. Shortly after, he twitched as the cool gel came into contact with his tight entrance. Using his magic, he worked the gel onto his puckered hole before spreading it. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath as he worked the lube onto his inner walls while simultaneously stretching his ass for its soon-to-be visitor.

“So, how long’s it been since you’ve done this?” Blitz asked, watching Dusk wince slightly.

“I can’t even remember. The first time was with a guard in the castle. He was really into being the bottom, and it made me curious.”

“So, you let him fuck you?”

Dusk opened his eyes with a deadpan expression. “That’s what that would imply.” He closed his eyes again after another wince. “It was before I really explored my dominant tendencies.”

Blitz nodded. “Did you like it?” He asked, turning his attention to the ceiling.

It took a moment for Dusk to answer. He stared foreword, finding Blitz’s still stiff cock in front of him. “I guess it was alright. I didn’t hate it, but I certainly didn’t enjoy it as much as you seem to.”

The pegasus shrugged as a guilty grin came across his face. “Cock feels good, what can I say.”

“Well, you’re certainly not the biggest I’ve had, but for a pegasus, you’re pretty thick. That’s what counts, right?” Dusk chuckled to himself as he stood up on the bed. He sighed and stepped over Blitz. “I think I’m ready.”

All the movement caught Blitz’s attention and he locked eyes with Dusk. “You sure?” The unicorn only nodded in response. Soon, Blitz felt the familiar warmth and purple glow of Dusk’s magic around his dick. The unicorn lowered his hind end down until Blitz felt the tight pucker of his lover just at the tip of his cock. He swallowed another lump that had formed in his throat in anticipation.

Once lined up, Blitz simply lay there as Dusk carefully leaned back onto him. The flat head of his cock met resistance from the tight passage, but it wouldn’t last. The slick surface and ring met and nothing stopped the invasion.

Dusk took a deep breath once he felt Blitz’s dick pushing its way passed defenses. He was slowly, but surely being spread opened by his lover’s member. It didn’t take long for the entire flare of Blitz’s rock-hard cock to be sitting squarely in his tight entrance. Dusk raised his head and bit his lip as pain radiated through his body.

He sat back more, letting Blitz’s flare slip inside him. After an audible pop, Dusk gasped slightly. His ass clamped down on his coltfriend’s shaft, holding him tightly now that the flare was out of the way. Dusk sighed and looked down to see Blitz’s eyes closed and him panting in bliss.

“That’s way tighter than any mare.” His eyes slowly opened to meet Dusk’s gaze.

The unicorn cracked a devilish smile. He placed his hoof on Blitz’s chest and lowered himself further down onto the girthy rod. A delightful whimper came from the pinned pegasus as he forced his head back into the pillow. “You’re acting like a virgin,” Dusk teased as he squeezed his muscles. His flexing drew another whimper from his lover. “We’ve barely just begun and you already look like you’re on the edge.”

Blitz let out a short laugh. “So, is that what you meant by ‘power bottom’? Your usual teasing while I fuck you?”

“And who’s on his back, pinned?” Dusk flashed a pleased smirk.

“Me,” Blitz admitted as he moved his hooves onto Dusk’s cutie marks. His eyes shifted down to see Dusk’s dick hovering just starting to slip free from his sheath. “But I’d say you’re still enjoying it up the ass.”

Dusk slid down along Blitz’s length, feeding more and more inside his tight passage until he hit it. A thickness stopped his advance onto Blitz’s shaft, his lover’s medial ring. He leaned against it, letting it push and grind against him before backing off it. He pulled himself up almost to Blitz’s flare. Once he felt it tugging from the inside, almost popping free from his confines, Dusk slid down to the medial ring in one swift go.

Blitz was left panting and at Dusk’s mercy. The unicorn leaned forward, feeling his own length stiff between his body and Blitz’s. He lowered his face down to his lover’s, pushing his weight down onto the pegasus’s chest and forcing him into the mattress. “Not as much as you do,” he retorted before placing his lips to Blitz’s.

Pinned under Dusk and lips thrust upon him, Blitz reveled in his lover’s ferocity. He moved his hooves from Dusk’s haunches to his back, holding him tightly as their tongues danced with one another.

But that bliss was cut short. He soon felt his entire length engulfed in his Dusk’s warmth as the unicorn forced himself past his medial ring. Both moaned into one another’s mouth, Blitz in ecstasy and Dusk with a hint of pain.

Once fully impaled on Blitz’s member, Dusk paused for a moment. Their kiss broke, and Dusk sighed. Slowly, he pulled his muzzle away from Blitz’s, leaving the pegasus panting with an almost pained expression from the sensations. Dusk’s hoof trailed off of Blitz’s chest, leaving a brief line traced in his fur before he placed it on the mattress.

“How’s that? Better than before?” He sat up, putting some distance between them. As he stared down at his lover, seeing him enthralled by the pleasure, a sultry smirk formed on his face. “Looks like it.”

“Damn,” Blitz muttered under his breath. He stared up at Dusk, with a pleading gaze.

“I’ll move soon. Just give me a moment to get used to it.” He looked down to see his own cock stiff and pointing right at Blitz’s muzzle. He glanced up to Blitz and subtly motioned to his rock hard dick with a tilt of his head. “Perhaps you could do something in the meantime?”

Blitz looked down his barrel to see the thick rod just out of reach of his muzzle. As he stared, he noticed it flex and twitch, demanding his attention. He closed his eyes and leaned forward enough to feel the tip of Dusk’s dick against his lips. Now that it was in front of him, he was able to inhale his lover’s heavy scent. It filled his lungs and set his body aflame. His own cock throbbed in anticipation.

Dusk let out a low moan as he felt the dick buried inside him twitch. “Eager, are we?”

A low groan of agreement escaped Blitz as he parted his lips. He took the tip inside his mouth and licked around Dusk’s budding flare. It didn’t take long for his effort to be rewarded with a salty drop of precum landing on his tongue as it swirled around Dusk’s cock.

With a pleased sigh, Dusk leaned back further still, forcing Blitz deeper still inside him. He sat perched on Blitz’s hilt, feeling the throbbing dick buried inside his ass, his own nestled between his lover’s lips. Triumphantly, he looked down to see Blitz’s looking up at him with meek eyes as he bobbed lightly along the tip of his cock.

“Here we go,” Dusk said as he pushed himself up. The slick feeling of Blitz’s cock slipping out of him as he rose made his own member twitch. All the pressure he had inside him was vanishing with the dick as it was pulled out.

Blitz’s mouth opened wide around Dusk’s cock as he gasped. As Dusk rose, he felt the cock hovering between his lips pushed deeper inside his open maw, drawing him from his bliss. His eyes shot opened and met Dusk’s gaze.

“Don’t slack, now.” He chuckled between pants.

Blitz gave a slight nod before continuing to suck his lover’s dick. Once Dusk was at the apex of his cock, he lowered himself again. A slow and meticulous descent onto Blitz’s rod accentuated by the unicorn’s walls squeezing and pulling him ever deeper into his confines. The delightfully sweet torture was almost too much for him to bear. The velvety warmth of Dusk’s ass drew him closer and closer to orgasm with each passing second.

His eyes shifted from Dusk’s to his cock. A purple glow appeared around the shaft and began shifting itself around his length, stopping just before the edge of Blitz’s saliva on the onyx flesh. He shifted his gaze back up to Dusk and glared.

“Don’t take it personally. You can’t take the whole thing in this position, so I’m just helping you out.” He laughed as he hilted Blitz again. With his lover’s cock inside him again, he let out a satisfied sigh. “You’re already twitching inside me,” he said before resuming.

His pace was quicker than before. Instead of torturously bobbing along his length, Dusk was bouncing without stopping. He rose past the medial ring before he would thrust his ass back down the shaft. The slapping of their bodies meeting echoed in the dark bedroom mixed with a symphony of moans from both stallions. As the sounds of their lovemaking filled the night, Dusk road his coltfriend’s dick with reckless abandon.

As he slammed down on Blitz’s dick, Dusk felt a familiar sensation welling up inside him. His lover’s cock pressed inside him, his own magic stroking him, and Blitz’s mouth around his head, licking him—he was close. Below, he noticed it was the same for Blitz. It was painted all over his face. With a smirk, he rose again, this time much quicker than before. He paused just before the tip of Blitz’s cock and winced. “Flared already?” Blitz moaned in as he bucked his hips slightly to push himself back inside Dusk.

He paused at the base, narrowing his eyes at Blitz with a smirk hanging on his lips. “Just for that, maybe I should make you wait to cum?” Immediately, Blitz’s eyes went wide and he shook his head.

Dusk chuckled as Blitz’s kept his lips firmly placed around the cock in his mouth. “Fine, I’ll let that slide then. But I still want to hear you beg me.”

Finally Blitz pulled his mouth off Dusk’s cock. “Dusk, please, let me cum!” he begged without hesitation.

With those words, Dusk rolled his head back as a surge of pleasure radiated through his body. “That’s it,” he muttered to himself. “I love that.” As his head circled back around, he locked his eyes onto Blitz’s. “Alright, I’ll let you cum. Where do you want to?”

Blitz bit his lower lip as a pained expression came across his face. “Inside!” he called out, putting his hooves on Dusk’s haunches again, He didn’t make any effort to guide Dusk, but held onto him as if for dear life. His lips parted once more and he placed them around his lover’s cockhead.

He was so close, Dusk slammed down onto Blitz’s rod, grinding against and squeezing him. Blitz had lost control and started bucking his hips feebly. Instead of punishing, Dusk simply allowed it and focused on his magic to bring himself to completion.

It didn’t take long. Soon, he felt the familiar sensation building to a peak inside him. With one final groan of sheer bliss, his mind grew foggy. A wave of pleasure crashed down upon him as he shot his load right into his lover’s waiting mouth. His body twitched and he was vaguely aware of Blitz moaning too.

Not long after his lover squeezed his haunches and cried out, he felt the liquid warmth he had been expecting shoot inside his ass. Dusk leaned forward, pushing his own cock further into Blitz’s mouth as they unloaded into one another.

Then, just as quickly as the pleasure came, Dusk collapsed down onto Blitz. When the bliss began to subside, Dusk heard the sound of his lover swallow his load before gasping for air. The two were left in a panting heap, basking in the afterglow. As he lay on top of his lover, Dusk buried his muzzle into Blitz’s mane and inhaled his sweaty scent.

After a few moments, Dusk felt the stiff cock that he had deep inside him a moment ago was soft and shrinking. Soon, the flaccid but still flared head of Blitz’s dock popped free of his ass. Dusk let out a soft, low moan as a glob of Blitz’s still warm cum trickled free from his confines and dripped down his hind leg.

Blitz moved his hooves from Dusk’s cutie marks to his back and squeezed him tightly. “That…was awesome.”

“Much better reward than the last one?” Dusk ask as he rolled to the side, taking Blitz’s embrace with him. He placed his own foreleg around his lover and cradled him lovingly.

“Totally.”

“I’d beg to differ,” Dusk said with a chuckle.

Blitz rolled his eyes. “Whatever.”

Placing his muzzle atop Blitz’s head, Dusk let out a sigh. “Maybe we can do it again sometime,” he said softly, feeling his eyes grow heavy.

“Really?” Blitz was legitimately surprised. This was the first time he had been allowed to fuck Dusk, and even leading up to this, he wasn’t particularly interested. A smirk came across the pegasus’s face as he moved his hoof down towards Dusk’s ass. “So, you telling me you liked it?”

Though Blitz couldn’t see it, Dusk raised his eyebrows and gave a small shrug. “It wasn’t horrible. Besides, you were really cute when you begged me to let you cum.”

Blitz’s hoof stopped just before reaching Dusk’s butt, pausing on his lower back. He let out a low groan in response. “You always have to be in charge, don’t you…”

Dusk gave a small nod. “Probably because you make it so much fun for me to be in charge.”

Blitz groaned again. He pushed his muzzle into Blitz’s chest. Despite being the cause of his embarrassment, the comfort and affection he received from Dusk was too good to pass up. When he buried himself in Dusk’s embrace, he soon felt his lover’s hoof gently stroking his back between his wings and a loving nuzzle into his mane. Those small gestures never ceased to lift up his spirit.

“Since you don’t have to get up as early as you have been, maybe tomorrow we can do breakfast before work?” Dusk’s eyes, despite his protests, drifted closed.

Blitz shrugged, but before he spoke a yawn slipped out. Soon, his eyes were closed as well, and the gentle numb of a well-deserved sleep was taking hold. “Ask me in the morning,” he managed to get out in the midst of his yawn.

------------------------------

Blitz found himself walking to Sugarcube Corner the next morning. His hair was even more of a mess than it usually was, only accented by the added length. Despite being awake, his eyes stayed nearly closed as he walked with his head hung low, struggling to not drop straight to the ground for another few minutes of sweet rest. As he came to his destination, Blitz let out a long and deep yawn, raising his eyelid enough to glance to his side.

Standing next to him was the polar opposite. Dusk stood, wide eyed, a smile on his face, and shining as bright as the morning sun itself. The sight made Blitz lazily shake his head in disgust. “Today was supposed to be the first day I could sleep in.”

“Funny, because I thought you did.” Dusk looked down at Blitz, that smile of his still beaming. “After all you did get an extra hour.”

“Let’s just get breakfast.” Blitz pinched his eyes shut and raised his head until he was standing straight. He took a deep breath of the cool morning air and forced his eyes opened wide. “And some coffee.”

“Of course.” Dusk chuckled.

As they entered, the first thing Blitz noticed was the pink pony behind the counter flailing his forelegs. He chuckled at Berry, always energetic, no matter what time or day. He gave a quick wave to settle Berry down before he inadvertently hit a customer with his hooves.

Blitz plopped down at a table while Dusk went to the counter to order. He leaned back in his seat and took the small crowd and atmosphere in. The warm smell of pastries and coffee filled the air, along with the nonsensical commotion of the morning rush. Despite being packed, the line at the counter moved pretty quick. Ponies simply stopping in for a donut or muffin to start their day before heading to work.

Dusk soon returned, snapping Blitz out of his trance by placing a muffin and a cup of coffee in front of him. “Breakfast is served,” he said as he took a seat next to Blitz.

Blitz chuckled. “Thanks, babe.”

Dusk looked at him with a raised eyebrow. “Babe? That’s new.”

“Yeah, I’ll do you one better.” He leaned in and gave Dusk a quick peck on the cheek.

Immediately, the stallion blushed. “You—”

“Thought we established this yesterday?” He laughed as he scooped up his muffin with his hoof. He took a quick bite before continuing. “I’m done hiding it,” he said with crumbs flying from his mouth.

Dusk motioned to the ponies around them with a nod of his head. “And it looks like no one even noticed. And you were worried they’d form a lynch mob or something.”

Blitz rolled his eyes before swallowing the bite he took previously. “Like they’d even be able to catch me.”

“I suppose that’s true.” Dusk brought his hoof to Blitz’s chin and forced the pegasus to look at him. He stared into his eyes for a moment, drawing a confused look from him.

It didn’t take long for Blitz to notice a certain glint—a fire in Dusk’s eyes. It was a fire he had seen often in the bedroom. His face flushed red and he opened his mouth to protest. But, before he even got a word out, he was soon silenced by Dusk pressing his lips to his. His eyes went wide for a second. Inside, his mind was telling him to stop—to break the kiss and push Dusk back, but his heart defied it. It fluttered, basking in the attention from his stallion. His eyes closed slightly, and he returned the kiss.

When Dusk finally pulled away, he was smiling. His eyes shifted to see a few ponies looking at them, staring bug-eyed at the two. He looked back to Blitz to see him sipping on his coffee, quietly. His cheeks were bright red. “No way they missed it now.”

“Jerk…”
