It was a chilly day in Ponyville, 3 days into the new year and everypony seemed happy. Winta is a pegasus pony, who loves the winter. She has a husband named Merry Mints, who is an earth pony and also loves the winter. Inside their house, Merry Mints was nervously waiting outside the bathroom door, waiting for Winta to come out. Slowly, she opens the door, a patch on her left eye. She opens her right eye, and walks out, closing the door. "It worked, Merry! It worked! I can partially see without screaming!" Winta cheered, jumping into Merry Mints, who hugs her. "I'm so happy for you, darling!" Merry Mints replies, letting go of the hug. "It must feel so good to finally see again!" Winta nods, a big grin on her face. "I'll go make some tea for us, ok?" Merry Mints says, trotting over to the kitchen.

3 minutes later...

Shortly after Merry Mints had finished tea for him and Winta, a throwing up like sound could be heard from the bathroom. He instantly ran over to the room, the door was fully open. There was Winta, throwing up into the toilet. Merry mints became worried, and ran over to Winta, patting her back. When she was done, Merry Mints helped her up, then allowed her to compose herself. "I...how? I didn't even eat anything bad!" She panics, pacing around the bathroom. Merry Mints starts to think, but Winta pops up with another suggestion. "Wait! Do you think... after we...ya know, I--" She gets cut off by a very shocked Merry Mints. "You think you're pregnant? But..." He couldn't finish his sentence because anger was boiling inside of him. He couldn't have... SHE couldn't have! "I'll be right back..." He growls, carefully trotting out the bathroom, Winta slowly following him. He pulls out a pregnancy test. "How?" Winta whispered, before carefully taking the test.

5 minutes later...

The expression on Winta's face was clearly shocked. "I... I am pregnant..." She squeaks out. Everything is silent for an uncomfortable amount of time. Merry Mints awkwardly tapped his hooves on the tile floor, looking down. Winta stared at him the entire time. "I suspect you'll leave me now..." She whispers, looking down and beginning to head out the room. She is stopped by being pulled into a hug, and returns the favour. "Winta, don't you ever think for a millisecond that I'd leave you. We can take care of a baby. I'm not leaving you!" Merry Mints coos, stroking Winta's mane. Winta pulls out from the hug. "But are we responsible enough?" She asks nervousness written across her face. "It'll be fine. We'll be fine! The baby will be fine! Heck, even our friends could help us!" Merry Mints replies, smiling and holding hooves with his beautiful wife, walking out the house, and heading to the hospital.

Right before they enter the Ponyville Hospital, Twilight Sparkle flies next to them, and lands hard, cracking the ground. "Are you both okay? You're heading into the hospital and Winta looks quite worried!" She hurriedly says, pointing her hoof at Winta. Winta and Merry Mints are quite good friends with the Mane 6 and other ponies. "Well... we just found out... I'm pregnant..." Winta hesitantly says. Suddenly, twilight's face lights up with a smile. "Oh my gosh! I'm so happy for you!" She lightly shouts, jumping up and down. "I suppose you're here for finding out the gender?" Winta nods, feeling slightly more relieved. "I already have names for both filly and colt! We might even have twins!" She says, bursting out, but carefully floats back down to the ground. Merry Mints laughs. "Hold on there! I need to come up with some ideas too!" The couple give a quick goodbye to Twilight, and head into the hospital. The couple instantly make their way to the reception desk, where a unicorn is staring into a book. She sees the couple and looks up. "How may I help you?" She asks with a smile. "I just discovered that I'm pregnant. Apparently I've been that way for 4 months. I need to see the foal's gender, and maybe some advice because I've never given birth before..." Winta says, holding onto Merry Mints. The reception pony picks up a phone, dials a number and talks to somepony on the other side. Afterwards, she sorts some papers. The pony midwife, Nurse Redheart walks out a room, and leads the pony couple into it.

"Congratulations! It's a baby colt!" Nurse Redhert announces, making Merry Mints jump up and down in excitement. "Frost Mints! Frost Mints! Frost Mints! Frost Mints! Frost Mints!" He yells. Winta giggles. "Frost Mints sounds like a cute name! I love it!"

2 months later..

"Morning sickness sucks!" Winta groans, trudging out of the bathroom. Her baby bump has grown larger now, and she wants to eat more. "Merry! Do we have any flapjack bites left?" She calls out to Merry Mints, who is getting ready to go to work. "Yes, we do! In the cupboard,"

And instantly, Winta flies to the cupboard, grabbing the box of flapjack bites, and flies back to her room. Merry Mints giggles to himself, knowing their life will be great with a foal to look after.
