Just on the off-skirts of a town called Ponyville, you'll find a run-down field and a farmhouse. And inside this house is a fairly large family; four grandparents and three siblings. This is the Apple Family. The grandparents reside in a large bed, the only bed the family could now afford; Grampy Red and Granny Gala on one side. Grampy Crisp and Granny Smith on the other.

The two older siblings are Applejack and Big Mac. They take care of the youngest sibling; Applebloom. How are you? Glad you're well. She's very pleased to see you.

While Applejack had to stay at the house and take care of the four ailing grandparents and Applebloom, Big Mac worked at another Apple company just down the road, sorting the good apples from the bad ones. Unfortunately he didn't get paid enough for the family to have even half of life's necessities and the family went about with a hollow feeling in their stomach. Applebloom felt it worst of all.

Fortunately Big Mac always managed to salvage a few apples from the factory for meals; apple slices for breakfast. Applesauce for lunch. And apple water for dinner. But it wasn't enough to provide for a family.

On top of it all, in viewing distance of the house was a rather large factory; a chocolate factory. It had appeared several years before when the famine had destroyed the Apple family farm. It was no ordinary factory however. It was run by a chocolate genius by the name of Ms. Pinka.

Twice a day, Applebloom trotted with her two friends, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo, to school. Both times, the only way to school was past the factory. And for just a moment, Applebloom would take in the sweet scent of chocolate wafting from the factory. It almost filled her up. Almost.

And on the way to and from school, she imagined what the factory was like from the inside. All the while, she wished she could see the inside with her very own eyes.
