And then- I rest.

I cry.

And cry, and cry, and cry.

I cry because my parents have just been killed.

I cry because I just let a mere filly get to see her parents killed as well.

I cry because the filly is crying horribly at the wolves who just killed her parents. "Go away! Leave me alone."

No.

I won't let the wolves eat her too.

Just as the small orange filly lets out a bloodcurdling scream, I fly in as quickly as my wings let me. I grab the filly in my hooves, and fly away.

Far away.

So far away that the wolves' howls sound like nothing more than a watch ticking.

The filly is glad, but at the same time very dismayed.

"Little girl," I say, not knowing how else to deal with fillies, "come here."

"O-o-okay," she says, trembling and choking on her tears.

I give her the biggest hug possible. "What's your name?" I inquire.

"M...my name is Applejack."

"Of Sweet Apple Acres?"

"Y...yup."

I grab her and dash her to the farm.

I ask the big red pony first. "Is this your filly?"

"EE-yup."

I explain everything, then depart.

"I hope I'm not late," I say as I trot inside.

"Not at all," says Princess Celestia.

"The filly is safe, I made sure of it," I declare, taking a sip or two of some apple cider.

"Thank goodness my visions weren't failing me." She suddenly sees Princess Cadence come inside. "Princess Cadence!" she exclaims." What brings you here?"

"The mirror..."

"What about it?"

"I think it's... cursed."

We arrive at the Empire's castle, and look at the mirror. Once a shiny blue with a pony on the top, it's now a shimmering red with an evil looking, darkish red horn on top. It vaguely reminded them of the horrible king Sombra that had previously enslaved the Crystal Empire until his defeat by Twilight Sparkle and her friends.

"Edward, do you know the problem?"

"Yes, but to solve it I need Princess Twilight and the Elements of Harmony.

"Yes, Princess Celest..." Twilight's speech fades at the sight of the mirror. "What is that?"

"This mirror seems to have some sort of curse on it," I reply,

"So it's totally okay?" asks Pinkie Pie. She had suddenly appeared right next to me, a huge smile on her face. "so it's okie dokie lokie with a cherry on top?" I sighed, trying to rein in my temper. Remember Edward, she does not know what she is saying. Hopefully. Otherwise, we are all doomed if this is Equestria's finest.

"Yes, it's just fine." I say in a soothing but sarcastic voice, rolling my eyes. I suddenly bellow out, "OF COURSE IT'S CURSED!" Pinkie Pie did not even flinch. she just kept on smiling. Like nothing had happened. Nothing at all. I seriously wondered where she got all that happiness from.

Twilight grunts. "CURSES AREN'T REAL! HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU PONIES THAT?!?" She sighs, putting a hoof to her face. I just stare at her weirdly.

"What else could this be, Princess?" I answered back, feeling quite offended. I did know most magical spells, even if I was a Pegasus.

"Maybe some Poison Joke got here somehow...?" Twilight started to look defeated upon hearing the question. I rest my case.

"This mirror doesn't look funny at all, it's only got darkness all around it and the horn of a evil tyrant who tried to enslave us all. Of course it's not evil. And who in Equestria would throw Poison Joke into a mirror?"

"Please, ponies," begs Princess Cadence as Twilight's about to shoot a laser beam at me. "This is a serious problem; we need to concentrate. It doesn't matter what caused it anymore, our task now is to fix this problem."

"Then what are we waiting for?" Hollered Rainbow Dash. "Let's get to fixing that mirror!"

"More like who we're waiting for," I advise her. "Where's Applejack?"
