Chapter 1: An unusual human

Skin is suppose to be a tannish or brown color, depending on nationality. Well that is not exactly the case for me. My skin is PURE WHITE. The doctors don't know what it is and it's too risky to put me on medications. And you know how hair is suppose to be blonde, brown, black, or even orangish red? Well not for me! Surprised? Because mine is PURE RED WITH ORANGE STRIPES. How does this happen? And don't think do not I get picked on at school because this, OH NO. I still have some friends who see past my unusual coloration, though. I like those kind of kids. They know how to act. My name is Joseph, or at least it sort of is. You see I'm adopted and never have seen my parents. I just appeared next to the statue in our park. In a basket with blankets like I was just purposely set their. Like a movie cliche. But this basket had the words "NAME: Sol Beats" Sol means sun, so. And I've always had a musical talent. Or its that a term for sun rays is beating down on someone. Weird. *RIIIIIINNNNNNG Sigh, the bell is ringing, we're done with lunch at school. It's time for social studies. I'm a smart kid, and I love school. Maybe one of the reasons I'm picked on, too. I'm going to ace this test anyway. Mesopotamian Empires and Sumer. PFFFF. Easy as 3.14. Heh, math puns.

"So Joseph, what do you think you'll get on your test?" Gabe laughed. Me and him are best friends. We are talking about video games and whatnot every chance we get.

"Probably 110%. Remember the extra credit!" I started laughing, he did the same. Not normally the thing you laugh at, but it's us. There's a reason we are in the honor roll. Obviously.

"Yeah, that's what I thought, now I need to go to Life Skills. See you after school. Bye!" Gabe ran of to another end of a split route in the hallway. I got through the day humming "Endless Possibilities" and was soon enough, I was walking home with Gabe.

"So how is your new song coming along?" Gabriel asked. As I've mentioned before, I have a passion for music. Gabe looks down at my shirt. "Think it will glow when you sing it for this years talent show?" he half joked and laughed.

"Ha! Maybe!" I also half joked and started chuckling. I frogot to say, last year the craziest thing happened. Literal magic.I'm not joking! I'm a very timid person, and at last years talent show, I worked up the courage to sing, in front of all the normal kids, and I'm an amazing singer. And you know what, people voted for me! It was such a boost in confidence. Then in front of everyone my shirt started to... glow. A microphone appeared on my shirt, my shirt I specially wore for that day. Everyone witnessed magic in front of their own eyes. And that gave me a nickname for all the bullies, Fairy Princess. For gods sake, really?!?! Anyway putting that fairy tale of an expirence aside, we spent our times talking about a few things, and finally parted ways when the time came. I walked home and was greeted by my happy-go-lucky adopted mother.

"Hello honey! I knew you'd want to practice with your singing I brought your stuff out here for you so I could listen." she said with that gleeful cheer in her voice. Man do I love her. After a whole night of practicing, and dinner, I finally went to my room to get an early rest. But... there was something wrong, I almost felt dizzy. When I went into my room I immediately went and turned around and closed my door. But something told me not to turn around. Something urging me not to. I fought the urge and when I turned around, nothing was their. But the next thing I knew, I felt a sharp pain in my head and was out cold. Something WAS there. It was... invisible. All I could think was "what the hell?" before completely shutting down and falling limp and lifeless on the floor.

Author's Note:

Again if this is the far future ignore this. I'm having to get use to the IPad and the italics/bold/whatever system. Please excuse my grammerical mistakes. As I've said in the previous authors note, this is more of a chapter describing the main character, Joseph/Sol. So this is a short chapter. I predict the next chapter will reach, say, 4000 words. So leave comments on what you like and what you should improve on. Thanks for the support

For anyone who read this before, I fixed what I believe is most grammerical mistakes. Sorry for the inconvenience.
