The Lead Up

Sleeping in his bed is the most handsome pegasus in all of Equestria. His fur, scarlet red. His mane and tail, white with a scarlet red fill. His left eye green, his right eye red. Sounds like a lot of red, right? Well that's me. Hi, my name is Hurricane. And this is the story of how I met the Commander.

I woke up that morning to a knock at the door. "The hell...?" I say, crawling out of bed. I trot downstairs and go to the door. "Who is it!?" I yell.

"It's Christmas, sir!"

I blink. Shit, I think. Christmas is my least favorite holiday. All the annoying carollers, the ponies stopping me in the street and giving me random shit, ugh. I just hate Christmas.

"Go away! I don't want you here!"

I could tell he was still there.

"Sir, did you hear me? It's Christmas!"

"I don't care!! Go. Away."

I heard his hoofsteps running away from my house. I smiled. "Damn kids," I mumble. In a mock falsetto voice, I say "Mister Hurricane! Come out and carol with us!" I shook my head.

"I'd rather fall down the stairs."

Bad choice of words. An invisible force lifted me up to the top of the stairs. This was no Unicorn magic. Hell no. I know what that feels like, and this was not that. The invisible force held me at the top of the stairs. I was speechless. I could feel the force weakening.

"Whoah! Shit, no! Please don't drop me!!"

Do you know who I am? a disembodied voice said.

I blinked. "Would you be mad if I said no?"

I am Commander Hurricane of the Pegasi. YOUR ANCESTOR.

I blink again. Commander Hurricane. Okay, my parents told me I was named after someone important, but they didn't tell me who.

"Who's side?"

Your father.

"Makes sense." I looked around. "Where the hell are you, anyway?"

My eyes settled on a ghostly figure fully stocked with Royal Guard caliber armor. He was a light black/dark grey color, and his mane and tail were electric blue. He somehow levitated me over to his position, and I dropped. He stood a full head taller than I, and he had a cold stare. His maroon eyes seemingly bored into my soul.

"Uh... why are you here?"

Is Christmas with family a valid answer?

"Hell no."

His face darkened, and his ghostly form shimmered. Fine. he said. I heard from a source that shall not be named that you have no Christmas spirit.

"The hell is this, A Christmas Carol?"

It could be.

I blinked. "Wh-whaddya mean?" I chuckled nervously.

I came here to show you the problems of Christmas past, present, and future.

My eyes widened. "Uh... no thanks. I think i'm okay. I'll just... go up to my room." I turned around to leave.

I think not.

POOF!
