Chapter 1: Striped Sweater

Striped Sweater

A stallion's lifted his eyelids up, only to have his vision blurred and his eyes stung. He shut them, and tried to guess what did that. He saw brightness of the sun, but felt cold and sick. Carefully opening his eyes, he saw that he was floating above the brown waters of a vast swamp of some sort. It was like a filthy ocean, with oddly colored trees thinly spread around. A filthy ocean. Filthy.

He look down at his chest, and began to panic. His beautiful, well groomed main and tail, as well as all of his fur, was drenched in revolting slobs of mud. But that wasn't the problem. His sweater, hoof stitched, perpetually burned and redesigned, that he was going to present it along with the rest of his new collection today, was now home to millions of germs and coated with muck.

Trenderhoof swung his head wildly, and felt pain in his right fore hoof. His hoof was caught under something hidden in a shrub. The shrub was on an island surrounded by a trapezoidal shield of iridescence. He yelled calling for help. He was there for what felt like hours. When the sun finally started to set, he saw a Pegasus flying toward him, She tugged, hoping the shield's opening would be soon, or this stallions hoof would be chopped off. The shield dissipated for a split second, allowing the stallion to be freed, with his hoof intact.

"I can never thank you enough." he said as he rubbed his forehoof."

"Who are you?" She whispered, dropping to a stance like that of a dog's.

"My name is Trenderhoof. I was in my hotel at manehatten, awaiting the hic chic fashion show, now I've suddenly woken up here. Could you please tell me where the nearest airport is? I'm very famous where I'm from, so I know they'd post pone the show for me, but I can't leave them waiting for very long..."

The mare had a plain face, but there was a scared look plated on it. "Follow me, and try not to look threatening."

A young filly wakes up and looks around and sees a mare with canary fur and red hair.

"Who are you?! Why did you bring me here?"

This was certainly not her home. It was just a small cave. The dull-faced mare continued to stare. She didn't answer, she only let her eyes roll up and down, scanning the filly.

"Do you know how you got here?"

She tried to remember, but to no avail. "No. Where's my dad?!"

The mare frowned. "I'm afraid he may be dead."

"What did you do to him?!" Her voice cracked, and she noticed that it sounded deeper.

"I do not know where he is." She stated. "Try to calm down, and I'll explain what I can. I'll get you some tea."

"Where am I?!...I'm talking to you!" The mare was deaf to her screaming, and still trotted deeper inside the cave.

She ran out of the cave and saw several ponies waiting outside, with the same dull faces. Their eyes widened when they saw her.

"Who did you get here?" Asked a gray mare.

"Did you bring anything with you?" Begged another, walking towards her.

She began to hyperventilate as they all inched forward with muddy hooves outstretched.

"G-Go away!" she screamed, as she quickly backed up.

The mare that questioned her first lost the wild look on her and let her hoof fall. "Leave the filly alone."

The others lost changed to blank faces and stepped back. The filly was about to charge through the crowd when she heard a voice behind her.

"Please, calm down. We may need your help."

She stared.

"We will try to reunite you with your father, but right now, you need to eat, or you could die."

She wasn't sure what to do. All of these ponies were tall, muscular adults. They looked mean.

A gray streak zoomed through the sky across a vast, muddy sea. She was about o give up when she saw an island, with a box of bubble-stuff on it. She didn't like the looks of it, but it seemed like a sign that called her over. She flew down, expecting it to disappear completely, but she crashed, headlong into it. She could have sworn she was flying over it.

The pain in her head was unbearable. She screamed. Unafraid of what she might have attracted. She was so sure she was gonna die, then she saw mares rushing to her aid.
